Peter Kay tickets – what time they go on sale, prices, Manchester dates and where to buy

He's added so many more dates. (Contains affiliate links).

Daisy Jackson

Peter Kay has added loads more Manchester dates to his long-awaited live arena tour, ahead of tickets going on sale this morning.

The beloved Bolton comedian is now playing a whopping nine shows at the AO Arena in his home region.

Peter, who largely stepped away from the spotlight after cancelling his 2017 tour due to personal reasons, had been triggering phenomenal demand for tickets.

The star managed to crash both the O2 Priority website and the Three+ service during pre-sales earlier this week.

The popularity of his comeback led to a monthly residency at the O2 Arena in London (the first artist to do so at the venue) and new arena dates across the country – including seven extras here in Manchester.

Here’s what you need to know about Peter Kay ‘s Live Arena Tour.

Peter Kay dates in Manchester

peter kay manchester arena tour

Peter Kay had already announced two dates for Manchester, but has now gone and added seven more for 2023.

These are the full dates for the AO Arena Manchester.

  • Friday 2 December 2022
  • Saturday 3 December 2022
  • Friday 22 September 2023
  • Saturday 23 September 2023
  • Thursday 20 October 2023
  • Friday 21 October 2023
  • Sunday 5 November 2023
  • Monday 6 November 2023
  • Friday 1 December 2023

When do tickets go on sale?

The pre-sale earlier this week went totally mental and even managed to temporarily bring down both pre-sale sites, O2 Priority and Three +.

So we’re all braced for a proper scramble today when the general sale kicks off.

Peter Kay’s arena tour tickets will go on general sale from 10am today (Saturday 12 November).

Where to buy Peter Kay tickets

peter kay manchester arena tour

Tickets are being sold through a few platforms but you’re going to want to be prepared to sit in a queue.

Once the on-sale begins this morning, you can try and pick up tickets through See Tickets here .

How much are tickets?

With the cost of living crisis being so difficult for so many, Peter Kay said he’ll be pricing his tickets from just £35.

“It’s good to get back to what I love doing best,” Kay said ahead of his return.

“If there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now. And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35, which is the same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.”

Seated tickets are priced at either £35, £50, or £65 (plus booking fees).

Then there’s a Best Seat Ticket Package, priced at £135 plus fees, which gets you a top-price sat, limited gift, tour programme and VIP lanyard.

The second wave of the lineup Neighbourhood Festival for 2024 has just been revealed and the city centre celebration of live music is looking top-notch.

Neighbourhood Fest returns this October for another all-dayer packed full of local talent and rising stars from all over the UK and a whole host of new acts have been added to the 2024 lineup.

With the likes of high-flying Manchester artists Corella, Antony Szmierek, Seb Lowe and Chappaqua Wrestling already topping the bill alongside ever-growing indie outfit Red Rum Club and fellow Scouse stars The Mysterines and more, we were already spoilt for choice, to be honest.

However, the excitement is only continuing to ramp up with just a couple of months to go until the festival and a shed load of new additions filling out this year’s roster.

neighbourhood fest 2024

Announcing the second wave on Thursday, 15 August, Neighbourhood has now confirmed that The Royston Club lads, the hugely exciting Villanelle – fronted by Liam Gallagher’s son Gene – singer-songwriter Bellah Mae and another local band, The Guest List, will all be joining the 2024 lineup.

And that really is just the tip of the iceberg.

Nearly 40 more acts have been tacked on to the already stellar lineup which will play across a total of 16 venues dotted around the city centre, such as the Manchester Academies, Albert Hall, Gorilla, O2 Ritz and other iconic gig venues.

Other names rocking up to the festival this year include fast-rising singer-songwriter Liang Lawrence, who has become a viral sensation on TikTok ; cult favourites of the Manc indie scene, M60 and Picture Parlour and promising solo artist Pixey, just to name a few.

You can see the full lineup down below:

neighbourhood lineup 2024 second wave

  • Noah Kahan at Co-op Live, Manchester – one thing is for sure, he’s gonna go far
  • Christine and the Queens and more announced for Homobloc 2024 lineup
  • Beyond The Music announces second wave of artists for this year’s Manchester festival

Now running since 2016, Neighbourhood Festival and its Weekender parent event over in Warrington, have become two of the most popular music events in the North West in what feels like the blink of an eye, welcoming artists who have now gone on to become some of biggest names in the country.

From Sam Fender, The Lathums and Yungblud; Mahalia, Declan McKenna, Holly Humberstone, The Lottery Winners and countless others, it isn’t just a proving ground for up-and-coming artists, it’s practically become a rite of passage.

Manchester’s biggest and best multi-venue festival returns on Saturday, 5 October and you won’t get many other events that last all day and run well into the night.

While early bird sold out quickly and tier two is also selling fast, you can still grab your tickets HERE .

Kendal Calling review 2024

Another year, another absolutely stunning festival in the fields at Kendal Calling 2024, which also happened to be the 19th consecutive sell-out year – and it really is no wonder.

The massive music, arts and cultural event, along with tens of thousands of festival-goers, descended upon the beautiful multi-coloured, flag-laden valley of Lowther Deer Park to kick off August in style and, naturally, Audio North just had to drive down for another taste of it.

Arriving early on Friday after already seeing the superb scenes on Thursday’s opening night – with the likes of Paul Heaton, Declan McKenna, The Covasettes and more all playing – we were keen to get stuck straight in and we did just that, landing at the main stage just in time to see CMAT.

Start as you mean to go: by waving your cowboy/bucket hat in the air with pride.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by AUDIO NORTH (@audio.north)

Safe to say our day one was pretty packed, ticking off some names that for many might be considered bucket list gigs, not least the likes of Keane, Noel Gallagher and, of course, Dick and Dom (no, seriously, they’re genuinely mint).

And that’s just the day-time music. From walking around the expansive 3,000-acre national park, sampling far too many of the fantastic food vendors than our waistlines would care to admit, to walking through the forest village and seeing bits of live theatre, comedy and more, there was something different around every corner.

One of the things we love most about Kendal Calling is the all ages crowd, with countless families in fun festival fits, bucket hat-wearing teenagers enjoying their first big live music weekend, plus plenty of older punters still gigging only from the comfort of a camping chair, it all warmed the heart just the same.

We also had some pretty stunning weather this year, with much warmer temperatures than 2023 and plenty of sunshine throughout to the point that the short spells of spitting rain came as merely a faint and somewhat refreshing little reminder that we were in fact in the Lake District.

peter kay manchester arena tour

Once again, Kendal Calling 2024 also had a theme, so it was fun to stumble across hordes of pirates, sailors, sea creatures and pretty much anything related to the ‘High Seas’, not to mention to see the continued committment to being one of the most evironmentally friendly events of its kind.

The ‘Leave Nothing But Memories’ initiative underpins the entire festival’s approach to delviering a good time, from creating carbon neutral productions wherever they can to making the facilities as sustainable as possible, it’s no mean feat given the 40k people that attend each day, let alone the artists and all those beind the scenes.

This stuff doesn’t go unnoticed either; even in a short chat with our very own Manchester-based music collective The Untold Orchestra , when pressed for an answer on what makes it so special and why the Northern music indsutry is the best, the first thing they did was shout out all the staff making it happen.

Another big higlight for us was watching Gary Neville’s b2b DJ set with The Charlatans frontman and Manc music legend Tim Burgess over at the Parklands stage. The Man United legend may have been a bit shy at first but he definitely grew into things.

As The Manc representatives attending the festival, we particualrly enjoyed this moment…

Oi, @GNev2 – what do you think of Scousers?… The @KendalCalling crowd giving him a warm reception over on the Parklands stage. 😂 His b2b DJ set with @Tim_Burgess has gone down a treat. 👏 #kendalcalling #MUFC #LFC pic.twitter.com/8xVMX6EnZ4 — The Manc (@TheMancUK) August 4, 2024

Last and certainly not least, a special mention simply has to go to Kendal Calling’s after hours scene, where you can potentially have an even better time than you ever would have expected.

We certainly got a great glimpse of it last year but, in all honesty, perhaps we didn’t throw outseves into it as much as we should have. We didn’t make that mistake this time.

It only takes walking through the aforementioned forest village known as Lost Eden to literally feel transported to some kind of flourescent, kaleidoscopic alternate reality where fantasy and sci-fi seem to merge in a perfect marriage.

Whether you pull on a pair of headphones for the silent disco, stare up at the night sky with a rainbow of streamers hanging overhead, or do we what we did and literally stand mesmerised by the floating Earth for what felt like half an hour, it does feel like some much-needed escapism.

  • Major artist Arijit Singh postpones Co-op Live show due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’

The full programme for The Warehouse Project 2024 has finally been revealed

  • Five Manchester artists we’ve been listening to this month | July 2024

All in all, it was another incredible year for Kendal Calling, with some incredible perfomances across the whopping 17 stages.

Some of our highlights included Peace, Franz Von, the masterful DJ set from Vookoo inside the Chai Wallahs tent; Manc locals Sugarstone, finally hearing The Streets play ‘Blinding Lights’ live, and being part of a pub quiz hosted by The Lottery Winners at the festival’s flagship pub, The Stagger Inn.

In the spirit of that wonderful name, we can’t wait to do just that again next year and we’ll see you back in the fields come August 2025 – consider that a promise.

Peter Kay in tears as he gets standing ovation at start of comeback gig in Manchester

The comedian's fans give him a welcome back to remember as he begins a huge tour that's set to break records.

Saturday 3 December 2022 14:52, UK

Peter Kay was in tears after walking on to a standing ovation on the first night of his comeback tour on Friday night.

The comedian received a rapturous reception as he opened his gig at the Manchester AO Arena - the curtain-raiser for his first live tour for 12 years.

He appeared overwhelmed as the audience of thousands clapped, cheered and chanted his name for several minutes.

Kay leant against a stool before dabbing his eyes and standing up.

"Oh Jesus look at me, I mean what's that all about... how am I supposed to do bloody comedy now?" he asked the crowd.

"I can't believe I cried, where did it come from, all that emotion?" he reportedly added.

Kay, 49, looked noticeably slimmer as he returned to live duties after four years out of the spotlight.

His cancelled his last tour in December 2017 due to "unforeseen family circumstances" - a hiatus that had raised speculation about his health, but which remains unexplained.

The Bolton-born star looks set to make up for lost time and break his own record for the biggest-selling comedy tour, after recently revealing his comeback during an ad break for I'm A Celebrity...

He now has more than 100 arena dates scheduled around the country stretching into summer 2025, including a monthly residency of London's O2 Arena .

The first reviews of the new show were positive, with the Manchester Evening News giving it five stars and calling it a "triumphant return" with "plenty of dazzling surprises" and a memorable finale.

"This show really did have it all," wrote the reviewer.

Fan blocked from Peter Kay show at London's O2 Arena for wearing 'Free Gaza' t-shirt

O2 arena issues statement acknowledging incident, admitting mistake, expressing regret.

File photo

A fan of multi-award-winning English actor, comedian, and singer Peter Kay was barred from entering his stand-up show at London's O2 Arena for wearing a shirt emblazoned with the message "Free Gaza."

According to British media, the incident occurred on August 10 when venue staff informed the unidentified man and his partner that the shirt could potentially "cause danger and disruption" during the performance.

The couple, who had booked their tickets over two years ago, were shocked by the decision.

Security personnel at the venue reportedly told the man that he would not be allowed entry unless he changed his shirt and that simply turning it inside out was not an option.

Staff directed him to a merchandise shop and other outlets within the O2 Arena to purchase alternative clothing. However, they insisted that if he wished to attend the show, he would have to surrender the "Free Gaza" shirt entirely.

The exchange was captured on video and shared on TikTok, where the man's partner, who has a North American accent, can be heard expressing disbelief at the situation.

"Wowza, that's mental. He has to go and buy a t-shirt?" she is heard saying. In response to the guard's decision, she added: "You do realize there is a genocide going on?"

The security guard remained unmoved by her comments.

The O2 Arena has since issued a statement acknowledging the incident, admitting that they "got it wrong" and expressing regret over the decision.

"We are a diverse and inclusive venue, as is our fanbase, and we sincerely apologise for any offence and upset this incident may have caused. On any given night we host up to 20,000 people and we try to make the best decisions we can, with the information available, in a timely fashion. We don't get every decision right, all of the time, and on this occasion we made a judgement call and got it wrong. For that, we apologize."

Israel has killed more than 40,000 Palestinians in the besieged enclave and displaced nearly the entire population of 2.3 million people, while also generating famine-like conditions and spread of disease.

It is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in Rafah, which began in May.

Peter Kay fan refused entry to O2 Arena for wearing 'Free Gaza' shirt

A Peter Kay fan was denied entry to the O2 Arena for wearing a  Free Gaza t-shirt amid fears it 'could cause danger and disruption', it has emerged.

The fan and his partner, who claim to have purchased tickets to the sold-out London gig two years ago, were stopped by security at the entrance over the shirt.

Officials said he would need to 'get another t-shirt' before the pair could enter the venue and even declined to let the man turn it inside out, saying the 't-shirt would need to stay with us if you are going to change it'.

Venue staff told the couple that the O2 is 'not political' and 'neutral', offering them the options of purchasing a new t-shirt from the merchandise stand or a nearby shop, or missing the show and contacting their ticket seller for a refund.

The fan said 'I don't want to miss the gig', suggesting that he and his partner decided to replace the shirt and go to the August 10 show, although that is not shown in the footage.

O2 bosses have now responded to the incident, noting that the venue's 'prohibited items' policy bans objects that in 'our reasonable opinion' could be harmful to guests. They said security 'made a judgement call and got it wrong' and admitted that 'entry should have been granted' to the couple.

Footage recorded by the couple and shared on TikTok  by the Watford branch of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign shows how they were detained ahead of the gig.

The man, wearing a black and white Free Gaza shirt, is seen standing near the entrance security queue as his partner films what she branded as a 'ridiculous' incident.

'Do you have any way you can get another t-shirt to change in to?' a security official asks the fan.

He explains that his shirt is 'all I'm wearing', but the official interrupts and doubles-down with 'you need to change'.

His seemingly frustrated partner then asks: 'You can't let us into the venue because of a t-shirt?'

The official, saying how he 'just spoke to the venue', mentions a 'policy' and says they were 'advised' not to let the pair in - but doesn't specifically state what the policy entails. He then turns back to the t-shirt wearing fan and says: 'If you can change it, that would be great.'

The partner suggests that he 'turn it inside out', but the security official adds: 'You won't be allowed to do that.'

'What?' the partner exclaims, to which the official reiterates that he will need a new shirt and the pro-Palestine shirt would 'need to stay with us if you are going to change it'.

The partner then asks if they would be refunded for their tickets, to which the security officer advises them to 'go back to your point of sale'.

A second venue official offered to provide them with the contact details for AXS customer service'.

'This is crazy,' the woman responds. 'He can't even turn it inside out and wear it backwards?'

'No,' one security official said. The other added: 'It wouldn't stop him from reversing it back once he's inside.'

The woman warned that she was 'filming' and the O2 would 'have massive boycotts' but the staff did not waiver.

'We're not a political venue,' the second security officer replied. 'Everyone's neutral.'

The woman then asked for a 'different option' to get into the show but the staff told them 'we don't have anything we can offer you t-shirt wise'. The couple were then referred to the 'merchandise' being sold at the venue or the 'shops in the ally'.

He added: 'We can't offer anything because I have asked the venue.'

'Wowza, that's mental,' she replied. Her partner added: 'Well, I don't want to miss the gig so...'

The O2 today has responded to the incident, saying in a statement shared on social media that it is a 'diverse and inclusive' venues and apologises for 'any offense and upset this incident may have caused'.

Bosses, citing how the arena holds up to 20,000 people, said 'we try to make the best decisions we can, with the information we have available, in a timely fashion'.

They admitted 'we don't get every decision right' and said that 'on this occasion we made a judgment call and got it wrong'.

'Safety and security are our paramount priority at all times, and we do everything we can to provide a safe and respectful environment for all guests. It is for this reason that our "prohibited items" policy exists, stipulated in our terms and conditions for all events,' the statement reads.

The policy, according to the venue, prohibits items that in 'our reasonable opinion, may cause danger or disruption to any Event or to other visitors'.

'On this occasion that was not the case and entry should have been granted,' the statement stated.

'For clarity, there is no venue policy which prohibits clothing displaying any specific messages, unless we reasonably believe there will be risk of disruption or that it is unlawful'.

The O2 says that in 'light of this incident', officials are reviewing venue policies and procedures to 'prevent this from happening again'.
