San diego travel baseball club and academy poway, ca, socal tides baseball is expanding to san diego's south bay, join our new teams now forming in the south bay, we are happy to announce tides baseball will now be forming teams in the south bay region. our south bay program will be led by coach josh aguirre who will fill the role of director of player/team operations and will also oversee and lead our coaching staff.  josh aguirre has had the privilege of coaching players in the south bay as well as players from north and east counties for the past 12 years and has been one of the most successful coaches to produce next-level players. from the youngest ages to high school student-athletes, coach josh has built a reputation second to none when it comes to player development both on the field and in academics.  please call or email for details if you would like your player to participate..

The SoCal Tides had a total of 6 teams competing in the Annual North Country Turkey Tournament in Clairemont on November 24th and 25th! All 6 teams fought hard and represented with pride. The Tides partnered with the National Stars, California Waves, and players who came up from Mexico to join our rosters for the weekend. In the end, our 16U team won the championship in their division!

A true travel team, they have played and won in tournaments as far away as Beijing, China and Brisbane, Australia. As one of the nation’s elite boys’ baseball teams, the STARS are always well received as they travel around the country. Winners of 27 World Series Championships, each year the STARS are ranked among the top teams in the nation.

The Crush Baseball Program is one of the only Travel Baseball Programs not founded on “Daddy Ball.” Crush offers experienced, non-biased coaching on every team by coaches trained to prioritize personal growth and development on and off the field. We have developed a reputation for getting players to the next level, be it high school, college, or professional baseball. Players stay with Crush because we offer an experience that is more than just baseball. TO TRYOUT FOR 16U -18U TEAMS, CLICK HERE

Outside of official tryout dates, players can register for open workouts. Open workouts allow new players to practice with our Crush teams with no cost or commitment. This can be a great way to meet the coaches and see what the Crush program is all about. For workout details and scheduling, email us HERE or register above for our open workouts.   Players also have to option to participate in our seasonal development program with weekly practices focused on skill development under our experienced coaching staff. About MVP Hustle San Diego

MVP Hustle San Diego took the field in 2021, but has roots that extend much deeper into the San Diego baseball community.

Director Amad Stephens is one of the most successful and best known travel coaches in the area. With the launch of MVP his philosophies and experience extend across an entire developmental organization with teams currently from 8U to 18U.

The MVP program is dedicated to developing successful players and teams by teaching, preparing, and practicing baseball the right way, so our players can succeed on and off the field both while wearing the MVP uniform and beyond.

NO FEAR Baseball Club is one of San Diego's original travel ball organizations and began fielding competitive travel ball teams more than 20 years ago.  Today, NO FEAR has competitive youth baseball teams playing in the 8u-17u divisions.

Triple Crown MLK  - The entire No Fear organization had both fun and success at the Triple Crown MLK event in Palm Springs.  The teams stayed at the JW Marriott and had a great time blending with each other and watching quality baseball. Both the 9s and the 13s advanced to the championship game and the 13s won the entire tournament.  We are all looking forward to our next trip to MLB Spring Training in March.

Tony Gwynn Jr. is the President of Gwynn Baseball, and a recently retired Major Leaguer after twelve years of professional baseball. His passion for Elite Developmental Travel Baseball stretches back years into his own playing days, Gwynn Baseball, as an organization, is the culmination of this dream and over three years of planning and preparation.

Vice President

Chris Gwynn most recently was the Director of Player Development for the Seattle Mariners from 2011-2015. His people skills and ability to organize, placed him in a position to manage 70 Staff members. He was in charge of and responsible for the development of 250 players from 17 countries. He was also responsible for 9 minor league affiliates in various minor league cities across the country.

Opening Day Ceremonies will take place on Tuesday, July 30th   at Sportsplex Santee. There will be introductions and a  team parade with skills competitions following the ceremonies. Games will begin on Wednesday, July 31st with the last day of the competition on Sunday, August 4th.  

Who Play's in this event and who is qualified?  This is a destination Global World Series USSSA Event. Teams from all over the U.S. and other countries are welcome to participate.  San Diego has one of the best climates in the world, and there are plenty of attractions to enjoy.  Pack your bags for a great baseball experience in a beautiful city.

Event History The first travel ball World Series in San Diego established in 2008, was sanctioned under BPA under the direction of Elite Diamond Sports. Elite Diamond Sports has been in business since 2006. The event was sanctioned under different partners up to 2017 and then sanctioned under USSSA in 2017 to the present.  Quality Assurance

Our directors and staff are  San Diego residents and know San Diego better than any other tournament staff. We know exactly how many fields suit an event of this nature. We will be capping off the number of teams that can participate to ensure teams are playing on quality fields. What separates us from other tournament promoters is our commitment to use the best fields available in San Diego County, located no more than 30 minutes from downtown San Diego.

Sports | San Diego’s 13 American Legion baseball teams open summer seasons

American legion schedule provides an alternative to travel ball; coach calls it ‘pure baseball … you come and you play’.

The American Legion Baseball season started this week, with 13 teams representing high schools from throughout San Diego County.

Lincoln, West Hills, University City, Oceanside, La Jolla Country Day, Hoover, Ramona, Mission Bay, Olympian, Morse, Francis Parker and Hilltop all have entered teams. La Costa Canyon, Carlsbad and Santa Fe Christian players will combine forces to play on the same squad.

Each team is guaranteed 12 games. Weekday games generally start at 5 p.m., with Saturday games at 11 a.m.

“The goal of American Legion Baseball is to provide kids with a place to play,” said Peter-Rolf Ohnstad, Commissioner of District 22. “This isn’t travel ball. … The American Legion picks up all the costs — baseball, umpires.”

Ohnstad estimated it costs about $3,500 to field each team. Do the math, the cost of running a 13-team summer program is close to $50,000.

Former CIF San Diego Section Commissioner Dennis Ackerman has joined Ohnstad with a focus on fundraising. Ackerman has raised $13,000 of his $15,000 goal.

“That’s something we’d like to do,” Ohnstad said, “but if it’s umpires and baseball or hats and uniforms, we need to go with umpires and baseball.”

The teams in the American Legion program use the summer for different purposes. In Northern California, teams tend to skew older, using junior college and college players.

San Diego is different, with players ranging in age from 13 to 19.

“We made the state tournament last season, went to Clovis and played a Petaluma team that had grown men on their team,” said Oceanside High School coach Dave Barrett, who will coach the American Legion’s Oceanside Vipers this summer. “That’s not a bad thing, but in San Diego, we tend to use the American Legion season to develop our younger players. We’re fortunate in that our older players like playing with the younger guys, forming a unit.

“The American Legion season is pure baseball. You come and you play. … The American Legion has made a commitment to baseball in San Diego, and the competition is good.”

Morse’s Dallas Booker, coach of the San Diego Ospreys, will use this year’s season as a chance to test his high school team’s JV players and freshmen.

“Those kids are really excited. And the beauty of all this is that it isn’t travel ball. It doesn’t cost the kids a dime to play,” he said. “That’s what makes American Legion ball special. Every kid has a chance to play.

“Plus, we’ll play teams we don’t normally see in the school season. It’s a chance to see some other teams, other coaches, other players.”

In addition to the regular season, some San Diego teams will take part in the June 26-29 RADM Shelton Memorial Tournament. The event also includes the Yakima Beetles from Washington; the Lake Elsinore Tigers, coached by former major leaguer Bobby Kielty; and teams from Newport Beach, Palm Springs and Clovis. The Clovis team is coached by former San Diego State player Rollo Adams.

There is also a postseason tournament, with the top eight San Diego teams qualifying.

“It’s possible teams can play 18-20 games or maybe more,” Ohnstad said. “That’s a pretty good summer.”

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres and Sports San Diego jointly announced today that after two successful seasons hosting the Holiday Bowl at Petco Park (2022-23), the Holiday Bowl will be moving to Snapdragon Stadium beginning in December 2024.

“It was our honor to host the Holiday Bowl at Petco Park,” said Padres CEO Erik Greupner. “Keeping the game in San Diego at a time when there weren’t any other viable options was vitally important to the Holiday Bowl, our community and local economy. The Holiday Bowl is a great event and wonderful San Diego tradition. We will continue our promise to be more than a ballpark by hosting world-class concerts and events at Petco Park in the future. We wish the Holiday Bowl many years of successful and exciting games at their new venue.”

The Holiday Bowl has been played in San Diego since its inception in 1978 and was hosted at San Diego Stadium/Jack Murphy Stadium/Qualcomm Stadium/SDCCU Stadium through 2019 until moving to Petco Park for the 2022-23 seasons (2020-21 games were not played).
