eTuk Rides offers tours in both Portland and Denver. The vehicles have three wheels and are fully electric. Each eTuk seats 4-6 people, I found 6 of us was a bit squished. The eTuks have covers for rainy or colder days, and some even have seat warmers.

Denver eTuk Ride City Tour

My eTuk group was filled with photographers, so we planned the Ultimate Urban Denver City Tour as a base because we wanted to take a lot of great pics.

Skydeck view of city Denver

Denver Natural Science Museum

Our eTuk tour started at the Denver Natural Science Museum, where we were brought up to a rooftop terrace with a full view of the city. Ironically Denver is known as the city with 300 days of sunshine per year, and of course, I happened to be there for two of the cloudy, rainy days.

View of Denver from Natural History Museum Lookout

You will get a view of the city from the lookout, but on a sunny day, you will see the mountains behind the city.

Colorado's Capital Building

Colorado Capitol Building

We then made our way to the city’s art district where we saw the Denver Art Gallery and the Colorado Capitol Building. The parks in front of the Capitol were filled with homeless people which were unfortunate, as it didn’t represent the great vibe in the rest of the city.

Etuk Ride Tour through Most Denver Neighbourhoods

While driving through Denver’s neighbourhoods, we started talking to our driver about things we liked to see. Once we opened up the conversation and told him our interests, the tour took shape.

View from Etuk Vehicle window

Don’t be afraid to tell your driver what you want to see. It was my first trip to Denver and I wanted to get a feeling of what the city was like, by catching many of its neighbourhoods but I also love taking great pictures. The driver immediately sensed this and took us to spots he thought were great for photography.

Parks in Denver

Denver’s RiNo Neighbourhood

When we hit the RiNo (River North) neighbourhood, I knew I was going to snap a lot of pictures. The community was filled with street art alleyways, and the eTuk vehicles were able to drive down them with ease.

eTuk Tour Denver with eTuk Ride

If you are a fan of street art, this is absolutely the neighbourhood you want to visit. It is also filled with many different craft breweries which is why eTuk Rides offers a tour solely on this neighbourhood and its breweries.

The eTuks were able to get us to places we would not have been able to get to by car or transit. Some of the spots were abandoned warehouses, covered in beautiful murals.

We ended our tour at the Denver Central Market food terminal. This warehouse space was filled with great food, coffee and craft beer vendors offering a variety of yummy eats.

What Are The Top Denver Tours?

Art, music, beer, baseball – there's so much to see and do around the Mile High City, but it can be difficult to know where to start. Our list of the top Denver tours makes it so much easier.

These guided tours give you a sampling of Denver's most unique and interesting destinations. From hidden gems to the tourist hotspots, these tours have something for everyone. Choose your favorites, or do them all, and see Denver like you never have before.

The Best tours In Denver

1) denver microbrew tour.

Did you know that Denver is home to some of the best craft beer breweries in the United States? Food & Wine magazine has called the city one of " America's microbrew capitals ." There are more than 50 breweries and taprooms within the city of Denver alone. Statewide, Colorado has more than 150 breweries, making it the third biggest brewery state in the nation , per capita.

That's a whole lot of breweries. But thankfully, the Denver Microbrew tour makes it easy to sample the best in the city.

You choose from several tours to fit your interests. For example, the original 2.5-hour "Historical Denver Craft Beer Experience" gives you a walking tour of 4 craft breweries as you pass several historically significant locations. Other tours are available too, and each one includes a "generous" tasting of 10 or more beers. If you like beer, you can't miss this tour.

  • A fun & interesting tour, which includes a sampling of great beers brewed in Denver
  • Choose historic LoDo (Lower Downtown) or RiNo (River North) district.

  2) ScooTours Denver Scooter Tour

Tour Denver on a moped – what could be cooler than that? ScooTours gives you a guided tour of Denver on a motorized, Vespa-style scooter. It's a fun and unique way to see the city. And since you're on a scooter, you can hit more destinations than you would during a conventional walking tour. Tours begin at the Big Blue Bear at the Colorado Convention Center. You'll then follow the tour guide to several noteworthy spots around the city, including museums, popular attractions, historically significant buildings and so on. The tours can vary, depending on the wishes of the group. For example, some guests may choose to tour Denver's history, while others prefer more public art sightseeing. To go on the tour, you must be 18 years, have a valid Driver's license and complete some practice in a parking lot before the tour begins. Each tour is roughly 2 hours.

  • Guided tours on motorized scooters
  • More stops than a typical walking tour

  3) Denver Segway Tours

Don't like scooters? How about a Segway? Denver Segway Tours are kind of like a mix between a scooter tour and walking tour. You get the convenience of being on motorized wheels, but the Segway lets you go in places where a moped couldn't. Segways—those futuristic, two-wheeled, self-balancing vehicles—can go basically anywhere humans go, including sidewalks. Tours last up to 2 hours and zip through the city, hitting the most popular destinations, like Coors Field, Cherry Creek, the State Capitol and more. Riders must be aged 12 or older. Groups range from 2 to 8.

  • Unique experience of riding a Segway
  • Like a walking tour, but easier and swifter

  4) City on the Side – Motorcycle Sidecar Tours

What if you love the idea of a motorized, open-air tour of Denver – but you don't want to do the driving yourself? Well then, City on the Side might be for you. This unique Denver tour gives you a memorable sightseeing experience as you ride in the sidecar of a Russian Ural cT motorcycle. And you're not limited to Denver, either. The city tour lasts about 1 and a half hours, exploring essential attractions, landmarks and other points of interest for about 140 bucks. But you can go a lot farther than that, if you choose. Additional tour options run from 4 to 8 hours, going all the way into the mountains. And for added convenience, the tour comes to you: you'll be picked up and dropped off at your preferred location for free (within 5 miles of downtown Denver).

  • Fun tours in a motorcycle sidecar
  • Tour options extend beyond city into the mountains

  5) Mile High Bike Tours

If you love being on a bike—but not the motorized kind—then a great option is a guided bicycle tour from Mile High Bike Tours. You'll ride a comfortable, 3-speed bike throughout the city, traveling along city bike lanes, riverside bike paths and neighborhood streets. Tours last between 2.5 to 3 hours and the total distance is about 10 miles. The terrain is flat and easy, and the pace is leisurely, so you don't have to be a professional cyclist to enjoy the ride. You can select from a few different tours, including the "City and Public Arts Tour," the "Historic Neighborhoods and City Parks Tour," or the "Twilight Tour" which allows you to "see the sun go down and the city light up." You'll ride with up to 7 other riders and the tour guide. This is a great way to see everything Denver has to offer, while riding a bike.

  • Leisurely bike rides throughout Denver
  • Multiple tour options available

  6) Denver Free Walking Tours

What if you just want a regular ol' walking tour of Denver – without fancy mopeds, motorcycles or Segways? Denver Free Walking Tours has just thing. And yep – the tour is free, just like the name says. This 2.5-hour tour begins a block from the Capitol building and ends at Coors Field – home of the Colorado Rockies. The total walking distance is about 1.8 miles, and the terrain is flat. Along the way, you'll stop at the art museum, Denver Public Library, U.S. Mint, 16 th Street Mall and Union Station, among other popular landmarks. All ages are welcome. If you're visiting Denver for the first time, this a great activity for your first day in town, because it gives you a quick guided overview of notable spots downtown. Note that while the tour is free, tips are strongly encouraged.

  • Hits the notable spots downtown

  7) Dark Side of Denver Ghost Tours

Why tour the living when the dead are just as interesting? The Dark Side of Denver provides a frighteningly fun ghost tour of Denver. You'll visit some of the city's oldest and most notoriously haunted buildings, as well as the tunnels beneath the city. You'll hear spooky tales about fascinating figures from Denver's past – and the true stories of how some of those figures have come back to haunt the living. Guests on the tour have reported having their own supernatural experiences, so if you're into ghosts, this tour is for you. The tour lasts about an hour and 45 minutes. If you have a group of 5 or more, you can schedule your own private tour.

  • Fun alternative to conventional walking tours in Denver
  • A good mix of spooky tales and interesting history

  8) Coors Field Tours

Baseball fans, this tour is for you! If you love exploring new ballparks, then Coors Field is a must-see. Home to the Rockies, Coors Field is located in downtown Denver, so it's easy to get to when you're exploring the city. Tours are available during the regular season and offseason, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the ballpark. The tour lasts about 80 minutes and covers a walking distance of about 1 mile. Among MLB baseball parks, Coors Field is notable because it was among the first of a new generation of ballparks built in the mid-1990s. In the National League, it was the first baseball-only park since Dodger Stadium was built in 1962.

  • Great tour for baseball fans – especially if you're catching a game too
  • Fun for families and small children

  9) eTuk Urban City Denver Tour

This top-ranked Denver tour is all about the tuk-tuk. Tuk-tuks are electric three-wheeled rickshaws that look a little bit like their bicyle-pulled counterparts around the world, but bigger and motorized. The covered rear seats generally sit 5 to 6 people, while providing a fun open-air experience. What's great about these tuk-tuks is that they're built right in Denver by eTuk USA. Several different tours are available, including the Urban City Tour, which stops at all the notable locations downtown, including the Golden Triangle (Denver's main arts district) and Larimer Square (the city's oldest block). Bonus: if you're staying in a hotel downtown, your tuk-tuk driver will come pick you up.

  • Unique open-air tuk-tuk vehicles
  • Eco-friendly

  10) Taste of Denver Food Tour

Finally, you can't visit Denver without sampling its many amazing foods and flavors! Taste of Denver provides a few different walking food tours for city visitors, foodies and locals alike. Its flagship route – the Downtown Denver Food Tour – is a 3-hour tour providing a rich culinary and historical experience. The tour includes 6 tastings at some of Denver's best restaurants and eateries. But also, along the way you'll learn more about Denver's history, architecture and culture. The tour covers a walking distance of about 1 mile.

  • Eat delicious food while you tour the city
  • All ages welcome

Arts | a populus hotel sneak-peek leads doors open denver’s 20th year, the architectural tours returns thursday, sept. 26 to sunday, sept. 29.

A new 145,000-gross-square-foot, 13-story mixed-use building, Populus, located at 14th Street and Colfax Avenue, immediately adjacent to Civic Center Park is pictured in this rendering. (Rendering courtesy of Studio Gang Architects)

The newly built structure catches the eye with an exterior designed to mimic an Aspen tree, with 65 different window shapes and a triangular footprint rooted in one of Denver’s busiest intersections, on the corner of West Colfax Avenue and 14th Street.

It’s the nation’s first carbon-positive hotel, developer Urban Villages has said, and the perfect place to celebrate Doors Open Denver 2024. The Sept. 26-Sunday, Sept. 29, event invites the public into local architectural wonders and offers expert commentary on their creation and history.

Where the past and future meet: The Cleo Parker Center for the Healing Arts and Shorter AME Church. (Provided by Fentress Architects)

Attendees can also be the first to attend an event at Populus before it opens to the public on Oct. 15.

“The building is newsworthy across the country because of its sustainability approach and materials, and (for being) carbon positive,” said Meg Touborg, president and CEO of the Denver Architecture Foundation, which produces Doors Open Denver. “That level of innovation and engineering is absolutely remarkable and certainly we wanted to bring fans of Denver’s built environment inside such a novel building.”

The Doors Open Denver gala at Populus takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 28, and costs $150 per ticket . But you don’t have to spend that much to take part. Doors Open Denver features more than two dozen other buildings in Denver, ranging from the Globeville neighborhood in the north to Baker neighborhood in the south, that people can explore and learn about in-person, with a guide, or on a virtual audio tour.

Open sites, where people can tour at leisure, include Five Points’ Blair Caldwell African American Research Library, the Capitol Hill Mansion, and downtown’s Byron R. White U.S. Courthouse. Guided tours take place at the rest of the sites, with a map at denverarchitecture.org .

New this year are open houses at architecture firms, which offer insight into the nitty-gritty of building design and planning. The 20th year of Doors Open Denver is also themed Denver Through Time, with an emphasis on how Denver’s best buildings have changed the city’s identity over the decades. That includes inside tours of historical landmarks such as South Broadway’s Mayan Theatre , but also a spotlight on Colfax, Denver’s long and infamously gritty stretch.

Guided tours of single buildings typically run an hour and a half and cost $20 per person. Not all sites are accessible to people with disabilities. Tickets and more details are available at denverarchitecture.org .

“We’re also looking at how Denver is reanimating buildings in new ways, because the city is really a leader in adaptive re-use, as you can see at Union Station,” Touborg said. “The new, $20 million Cleo Parker Robinson Dance project is another great example, which is why we’re touring their construction site, a former church, with (Robinson) talking about its history.”

The Robinson tour costs $55, since it includes additional programming and a performance. Doors Open Denver also features a keynote lecture with architect Vishaan Chakrabarti at Denver Art Museum (on Sept. 26, with tickets for $65), a photo-contest reception at Colorado Photographic Arts Center (also Sept. 26; free), a cocktail reception (Sept. 26, $95, at a private residence), and a wrap party at the Posner Center for International Development (free, Sept. 29). Other events include a screening, book signings and author appearances.
