THE SUN WILL COME OUT.

Now on tour .

Holding onto hope when times are tough can take an awful lot of determination, and sometimes, an awful lot of determination comes in a surprisingly small package.  Little Orphan Annie  has reminded generations of theatergoers that sunshine is always right around the corner, and now the best-loved musical of all time returns in a new production – just as you remember it and just when we need it most.

ANNIE, directed by  Jenn Thompson , features the iconic book and score, written by  Tony Award®–winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse  and  Martin Charnin . This celebration of family, optimism and the American spirit remains the ultimate cure for all the hard knocks life throws your way.

Cast Announced for New Annie National Tour

The cast and creative team for the upcoming national touring production of Annie has been announced. The tour launches on October 4 at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, New York before heading to over 50 cities across the country. All three authors received 1977 Tony Awards for their work.

The beloved score includes “Maybe,” “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” “Easy Street,” “I Don’t Need Anything But You” and the eternal anthem of optimism, “Tomorrow.”

Ready for it? Taylor Swift fans mobilise for UK Eras Tour

It's T minus one day until Taylor Swift brings her worldwide Eras Tour to the UK.

But fans are already building up to the first gig on Friday.

The star kicks off three nights at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh and the city is already in full Swift mode.

Fans gathered at the stadium from the early hours on Wednesday to buy their tour merchandise ahead of the gigs.

Ailsa Cameron, 32, bagged hers and shared her luck with other fans on X.

"Merch secured," she said. "For anyone thinking of heading to Murrayfield today, I got there at 12:15 and there was literally no queue!"

She told BBC Scotland News: "I had my eye on a couple of things so was really happy to get them.

"I bought two sweatshirts. And I had to get the Edinburgh Eras Tour poster too.

"I’m so excited for the gig, I still can't believe Taylor is actually playing Edinburgh."

Caitlin Bartram, 19, from Seaham, has been a fan of Taylor Swift since she was four and the Fearless album had just been released.

She is one of almost 73,000 fans who will fill the Scottish Rugby home ground each night.

She said: “There are no words, it’s like Christmas, I can’t sleep because I'm so excited.”

Like many fans, Caitlin has thought hard about her outfit for the night. After seeing creative designs made by other fans online, she decided to recreate a bodysuit that Taylor wears during her performance.

“It does take a lot of patience," she said. "I can’t even fathom the amount of time that I’ve spent painstakingly watching the Eras film, looking for photos on Pinterest, on Google images, zooming in on really fine details, trying to get everything to match perfectly.

"I marked out the symmetry, with fabric chalk, it’s a lot of measuring, there’s actually a lot of maths involved which did take a lot of time.”

Caitlin believes the process has brought her closer to the Taylor Swift community.

“She just inspires people to be their most authentic self, and I think with that it’s brought out people’s crafty side in a way. This outfit hasn’t been just a process for me, my whole family has been involved in it, that’s the sense of community that Taylor has brought with all the Swifties.”

Julia Baldwin, 21, is a student in her last year at Edinburgh University.

Originally from a small town in the US, she’s never had the chance to see Taylor Swift despite being a fan since she was a young girl.

When it was announced the superstar was going to perform for three nights in Edinburgh, Julia took on three part time jobs to save enough money for the tickets.

She has been working at a wedding venue, for an online data company, and early morning shifts at Edinburgh airport.

She said: “I remember listening to her music on the bus at 02:00 on my way to my job at the airport every day and being like 'this is what I’m doing it for', so I can hear these songs live.

Julia has spent £1,300 on tickets for all three nights at Murrayfield. She wanted to make sure she was able to soak up every moment of the concerts.

“A lot of people have been reporting having concert amnesia, where they haven’t been remembering the show after they’ve gone home. It’s something I wanted to remember so I figured that if I go multiple times then by night three, I’ll be a bit more mellowed and will remember things.”

Julia has a recurring ankle injury and has been so worried about being able to dance her way through the gigs that she has taken preventative action.

"I spoke to the GP and I am going to start physiotherapy so I can dance for four hours straight at the shows."

She has crocheted a special Taylor Swift blanket for the gig.

"Each row is a song and each colour represents an album."

Annie Smith, of Lanark, has decorated her house alongside her two daughters for Lanimers Day, a local tradition.

On 6 June, the town's schoolchildren parade in costumes through the streets with decorated vehicles and music bands.

A Lanimer Queen and her Court are selected from local schools and those involved in the "Court" decorate their house in a theme that means something to them.

Annie and her family took a modern twist on the tradition.

"We are huge Swifties, so it was never going to be anything else!

"We've spent months designing and building it all and then a lot of hours this week working to save it from the weather!" said Annie.

The family started work on it in January.

Annie's dad, who is 77, helped with the building and was drilling and linking the CDs for weeks.

"It's a big hit with local Swifties and we're loving it too. We're going to see Taylor on Saturday and it will be my 12-year-old daughter's first concert.

"We are VERY excited!"

GALLOWAY, N.J. (AP) — Arpichaya Yubol followed a career-best finish on the LPGA Tour with a career-low 10-under 61 on Friday and took a two-shot lead over Jenny Shin after the first round of the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

The 22-year-old Thai player, who finished fifth in last week’s U.S. Women’s Open, had eight birdies and a chip-in eagle playing in calm conditions in the morning on the Bay Course at Seaview Resort. With a 60 within her grasp, she narrowly missed a 10-foot birdie putt on the par-5 ninth hole, her last of the day.

Hannah Green is the only other player to shoot 61 this year, doing it at par-72 Seville in Gilbert, Arizona, in March.

“I feel like I just start to play golf, like happy golf like every hole,” said Yubol, who won as a professional in Thailand. “Because I feel like my (confidence) is coming back from last week in the U.S. Women. It was the greatest week in my life and it’s make me more confident for this week.”

Yuka Saso followed up her second U.S. Women’s Open title with a 2-under 69 on Friday. Hinako Shibuno, who was runner-up last week to her Japanese countrywoman at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania, opened with a 66.

Yubol’s 61 matched the tournament record shared by Sei Young Kim and Sakura Yokomine in 2018. Annie Park ended up winning that year.

Shin, who has one win since joining the tour in 2011, played in the afternoon with stronger wind. She had nine birdies and bogey.

“Well, the fact that every hole is birdie-able, compared to last week, just helped a lot,” Shin said. “A little bit easier just kind of going after the pin, which I didn’t do at all. So, yeah, it was fun. That was the biggest difference: It was fun.”

Narin An shot a bogey-free 64 and was three shots back. The 28-year-old, a two-time winner on the Korean LPGA, is seeking her first U.S. victory.

Brittany Lincicome, the 38-year-old whose eight tour wins include this event in 2011, had her best round of the year playing with a new putter and was part of a large group at 65.

“I feel like I’ve been so close the last couple weeks,” said Lincicome, who has missed five of seven cuts this year and is looking for her first win since 2018. “Right on the bubble, missing the cut by one most weeks. So it was nice to get out there and get a round under par. Hopefully, we keep it going and see what we can do the next two days.”

Brooke Henderson, who won this event two years ago, also shot 65 alongside Nasa Hataoka, Megan Khang and amateur Rachel Kuehn, a 22-year-old from Wake Forest, who overcame a bogey-bogey start.

Defending champion Ashleigh Buhai shot 67.

Yubol has resurrected her game over the past two weeks. After finishing in a tie for 49th in her first event, she missed the cut in her next six. She rediscovered her form in the U.S. Women’s Open last weekend and shot 68-69 in the final two rounds to earn $465,375, her biggest payday.

Yubol said her manager visited her before the Open and they spent hours talking about her game. His message was he believed in her and she should believe in herself and stop worrying about losing her playing privileges.

It’s worked, so far.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Boy George (L) and Squeeze frontman Glenn Tillbrook are touring together in 2024.

Boy George is leaving Broadway and returning to the road.

The ’80s icon, who ends his three-month run as bold club owner Harold Zidler in the Tony Award-winning musical “Moulin Rouge!” on May 12, announced he’s embarking on a co-headlining tour with Squeeze this August and September.

Near the end of their 20-concert nationwide run, the duo will drop into Atlantic City’s Tropicana Showroom on Saturday, Sept. 14 and New York City’s Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

According to American Songwriter , the groups “will alternate closing sets for the tour.”

Can’t wait to sing along to “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” and “Tempted” at the same show this summer?

If that’s the case, tickets can be picked up for all Boy George and Squeeze shows as soon as today on sites like Vivid Seats. The official on-sale is Friday, May 3.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Boy George and Squeeze tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues, and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Squeeze solo tour 2024

On top of the co-headlining jaunt, Squeeze will play a handful of shows on their own in the U.K. this year.

Here’s where you can see the band — celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2024 — without Boy George live overseas these next few months.

“Moulin Rouge!” on Broadway

As noted above, Boy George is wrapping up his “Moulin Rouge!” run on May 12.

However, the show must go on.

For the foreseeable future, Baz Luhrmann’s timeless musical will continue at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in Midtown Manhattan.

Want to go?

You can grab tickets for all “Moulin Rouge!” shows here .

Boy George set list

Sure, you know the hits but what else does the former Culture Club frontman typically perform at live shows?

Based on our findings at Set List FM from a 2016 show, this is what you can likely expect.

01.) “Funtime” (Iggy Pop cover) 02.) “It’s a Miracle” (Culture Club song) 03.) “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya” (Culture Club song) 04.) “Church of the Poison Mind” (Culture Club song) 05.) “The Jean Genie” (David Bowie cover) 06.) “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” (Lee Hazlewood cover) 07.) “Everything I Own” (Bread cover) 08.) “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” (Culture Club song) 09.) “Miss Me Blind” (Culture Club song) 10.) “King of Everything” 11.) “Bow Down Mister” (Jesus Loves You song)

12.) “Karma Chameleon” (Culture Club song) 13.) “Bang A Gong (Get It On)” (T. Rex cover)

Squeeze set list

The long-running group has been tirelessly touring since the ’70s.

Here’s what they play live these days, courtesy of Set List FM :

01.) “Take Me I’m Yours” 02.) “Hourglass” 03.) “Up the Junction” 04.) “Here Comes That Feeling” 05.) “What Have They Done?” 06.) “If I Didn’t Love You” 07.) “Another Nail in My Heart” 08.) “Vanity Fair” 09.) “Slap & Tickle” 10.) “Electric Trains” 11.) “Goodbye Girl” 12.) “Annie Get Your Gun” 13.) “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)” 14.) “Tempted” 15.) “Cool for Cats” 16.) “Black Coffee in Bed” 17.) “Is That Love” 18.) “Black Coffee in Bed” (Reprise)

Boy George new music

This year, Boy George dropped a pair of singles.

First up, was his snazzy, disco-y “Electric Energy” collaboration with Nile Rodgers and Ariana DeBose for the film “Argylle.”

Then, on April 5, he released the anthemic “Them There Crows,” complete with beat drops and gnarly guitar riffs.

Both tracks can be found here .

Squeeze new music

Most recently, Squeeze put out a pair of “Best of Squeeze” live albums.

However, we were most taken with their quirky 2022 EP “Food For Thought.”

Make sure to check out the funky “The Very First Dance” and hard-charging “Electric Trains” if you haven’t listened to the band lately; for our money, this pair of jams is a welcome addition to their already impressive canon.

You can hear “Food For Thought” in its entirety here .

’80s stars on tour in 2024

We can’t believe it’s been 35 years since the 1980s.

What’s even crazier is that many of the decade’s biggest stars are still on the road.

Here are just five of our favorites you won’t want to miss live these next few months.

•  Journey and Def Leppard

•  Billy Idol

•  Rick Springfield

•  Madness

•  New Kids On The Block

Who else is on the road? Take a gander at our list of the 50 biggest concert tours in 2024 to find out.
