Prospective pilgrims from any country can find information about the rituals and requirements of Hajj at the   Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah website   (please check multiple browsers to be able to access links).

For pilgrimage, please note the following:

• Current vaccination requirements are available from the website of the  Saudi Ministry of Health .
• You will need a valid permit to perform Hajj.  The Saudi government enforces strict penalties (fines, detention, and travel bans) on people who perform Hajj without this permit.
• Hajj and Umrah travel plans must be made through an online portal. Register directly at:  www.motawif.com.sa/ .  This is how you obtain entry, accommodation, and transportation in Saudi Arabia.

Please ensure that you are guaranteed a Hajj permit. Your registration must be approved in the online portal and confirm that you have secured accommodations and transportation, in addition to an entry visa.

Failure to obtain a permit can result in:

• Immediate deportation
• Large fines
• Ban on future travel to Saudi Arabia

Do not travel to Saudi Arabia without lodging or transportation arrangements made in advance. You may face difficulties with Saudi immigration and have trouble finding available services once you have arrived.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh and Consulates General in Jeddah and Dhahran cannot assist in arranging travel permissions within Saudi Arabia or resolving immigration violations.  Once you enter Mecca for Hajj, you cannot depart Saudi Arabia without obtaining permission from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah until Hajj period is complete.

U.S. citizens resident in Saudi Arabia must also register for Hajj using the Eatmarna application, additional information on necessary mobile applications can be found at the   Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah website .  Foreign Muslim residents of Saudi Arabia may perform the Hajj once every five years. Advance approval must be obtained from an immigration office and with the approval of their Saudi sponsor.

Keep travel documents (your U.S. passport or U.S. “green card” residency permit) secure during your trip.  Make two copies of your passport—including pages stamped with Saudi visas—with one saved digitally and the other in a safe place while you travel.

Hajj and Umrah are attractive targets for defrauding unsuspecting travelers. Be aware of unscrupulous personal guides or individuals who may pose as tour operators, who abandon pilgrims, leaving them with unpaid bills, and hoteliers who demand the payment of exorbitant “hidden charges” for the return of passports. Registration for Hajj any bookings of accommodations and flights will now only be through the online Motawif portal.

There have been reports of pick-pocketing, theft, and other crime in Mecca, particularly in the region of the Grand Mosque, and in Medina with large crowds of people. Do not leave passports or valuables unattended.

Lost U.S. passports or residency permits (“green cards”):

• Report the loss immediately to your travel agent.
• Obtain a report from the local police.
• Contact the U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah for assistance issuing replacement passports to U.S. citizens, and “boarding foils” to U.S. legal permanent residents who lose their residency permits. Please note however, that once you begin performing Hajj in Mecca, you cannot depart Saudi Arabia until Hajj period is complete without obtaining permission from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

The Hijri calendar is used in Saudi Arabia for all official functions.  Please review the dates on your visa carefully, and make sure you know when it expires.

Do not overstay your Hajj or Umrah visa . Penalties for overstays may include fines amounting to thousands of dollars, detention pending deportation proceedings, and bans on returning to Saudi Arabia in the future.

Umrah visas  are typically valid for about 90 days. You must depart before the visa expires.

During Hajj, the government may set new departure requirements that limit when you can depart. Local regulations include provisions that may keep you from leaving early. Travelers must comply with all Saudi government travel regulations.

Permitted areas of travel and duration of stay:  If you are unsure, be sure to ask Saudi airport officials or the Passport Office (jawazat) for clarification upon arrival.

• Hajj and Umrah (pilgrimage) visas are valid for travel only in the vicinities of Jeddah, Mecca, and Medina, and for travel between these cities. These visas are  not  valid for work or residency. Unapproved travel outside these areas may result in immigration violations and penalties.
• Non-Muslims are forbidden to travel to the holy city of Mecca, and the portions of Medina which are considered sacred. All pilgrims must leave Saudi Arabia after Hajj no later than the 10th of Muharram of each year (this year approximately August 8, 2022).
• Pilgrims are forbidden to stay in Saudi Arabia after the completion of Hajj.

As of June 2021, women of all ages can now register for Hajj without a male guardian as long as they go in a group with other women.

Be prepared for standards of accessibility and accommodation below the minimum of what is required in the United States. While most of the Holy Sites, such as the Grand Mosque in Mecca, are handicap-accessible, most hotels and transportation options are not. Check with your tour group provider to ensure your needs are well known and can be accommodated.

Please note that special Covid requirements are outlined at the beginning of this information page.

Make sure your routine immunizations are up to date, and ask your tour operator about the vaccinations required for your visa. Hepatitis A and B and polio vaccinations are also recommended. Make sure to check language on medical needs (get your prescriptions, get your flu shot; meningitis and other vaccinations may be recommended by your doctor).

Carry hand sanitizer, as well as treatments for colds, diarrhea, rash, and anything else you might need.

Heat-related illnesses (high risk):  Move to a cool area and seek medical attention if you experience profuse sweating, chills, headache, dizziness, and nausea.  Temperatures at pilgrimage sites consistently exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer.  Stay hydrated, rest, and use protection from the sun.

There are facilities providing water, public accommodations, and other amenities. Due to large crowds, however, travelers should expect long wait times for basic amenities, especially in Mina, Muzdalifa, and Arafat.

At the Airport: Expect Crowded Airport Terminals

• Due to the incredible numbers of people being simultaneously processed at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, disembarking, immigration and customs processes may take quite a few hours.
• Expect a lengthy wait in hot and humid conditions before leaving the airport.  Travelers with only carry-on bags will find their airport experience to be much easier than those with checked baggage.
• Some Hajj pilgrims now fly directly to Medina and proceed to Mecca by road. There is no option to fly to Mecca.

Between Ritual Sites

• The Saudi government provides strict timetables to Hajj groups for all travel (bus, light rail, and foot) between the ritual sites. All routes and modes of transport will be extremely congested, and travelers should prepare for long delays.
• Light rail trains are typically overwhelmed, with pilgrims waiting several hours at the train stations at Arafat and Muzdalifah on crowded platforms before being able to board a train. Train cars will also be very crowded. Timetables and light rail movements are outside the control of travel agencies.
• Use maps and smartphone applications to navigate the Hajj ritual sites that stretch from the Grand Mosque (Al Masjid al Haram) to Arafat.

Saudi authorities forbid the taking of photographs (still or video, including those taken with your phone) at the Holy Mosque at Mecca or at the Prophet's Mosque at Medina. Any violation of official instructions is likely to lead to the confiscation of your device. Please exercise good judgment and respect the rules of each site.

See  U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)  for guidance on bringing religious articles back to the United States.

We recommend that travelers returning to the U.S. not bring any food items, including dates, that are not commercially processed and in their sealed, original container. U.S. CBP officers at the port of entry to the U.S. are responsible for deciding which items to allow.

Zamzam water  (drawn from the sacred Zamzam well inside the Grand Mosque): Please check with your travel agent and airline for guidance on including Zamzam water as checked baggage.

• U.S. citizens traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah should regularly monitor the  U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs website  where the Department of State’s  Travel Advisory for Saudi Arabia   and the current   Worldwide Caution  can be found.
• Enroll in the  Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)   to receive security messages and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
• We recommend you get a local SIM card; many plans are offered for the Hajj time period.
• Ensure you have your hotel contact information readily available.

What We Can and Cannot Do

We hope that you will have a trouble-free Hajj or Umrah, as thousands of other pilgrims from the United States do each year. If something does go wrong, however, the U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah can provide you appropriate consular services, such as:

• Arrange for emergency U.S. passports and “boarding foils” for lost I-551 (“green cards”) for U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents. After Hajj, please bring a report from the police station regarding the theft or loss, and a copy of your U.S. passport or green card if possible.
• Seek to contact you within 24 hours of being told that you have been arrested.
• Make special arrangements in case of civil disturbances or disasters.
• Provide contact information for local lawyers and hospitals.
• Arrange for a spouse or next of kin to be informed if you are involved in an accident, arrested, or die, and advise them on the appropriate procedures.

We cannot, however:

• Arrange for travel outside of the designated areas in Mecca and Medina.
• Resolve immigration violations.
• Become involved in any disagreements, e.g. pilgrim and travel agency disputes or lost baggage.
• Rearrange airline, hotel, or other travel bookings.
• Pay for hotel, legal, medical, travel, or other bills.
• Obtain someone’s release from prison.
• Provide legal advice or intervene in court cases or criminal investigations

Life changing trip

Ive been to Hajj twice with Dome tours, however this umrah trip was surreal. We booked a typical umrah with the understanding that we will learn a little bit of seera on the side. What we didn't realised was that this trip will change our lives in different ways. Although I will admit, it was quite full on, sometimes tiring, but the lessons the sheikh's taught us in this journey has been life changing. The trip took us in a spiritual and emotional journey that's hard to explain. Highly recommend if you are having difficulty in your life or want to be more spiritually connected. I feel this trip is suitable for English speaking adults. Participants will need to have access to phone and headphone all the time. For anyone who don't mind spending less time in the Prophets mosque or the masjid al Haram due to the program schedule.

Last year I went for Hajj with Dome…

Last year I went for Hajj with Dome Tour, which amazing. I decided to go for Umrah this year in February, with them again. It was my obvious choice. The service, management and organisation were faultless. The guidance received from Sheikhs were eye opening, it transformed way of thinking. Easy tips to continue our lives in Prophet's teaching and to better ourselves. I would highly recommend all to book with them, either going on Hajj or Umrah

The experience was brilliant from start to finish. The organisation and level of care throughout the trip cannot be faulted. The sheikhs are very knowledgeable and personable and ensured everyone felt comfortable and included. I feel very privileged to have had this experience and would recommend to all. I want to express my thanks to all those involved and to the sheikhs for their time and knowledge shared with us. The zoom classes and classes held in the auditorium were very helpful and interactive, the inner presence dua is a method i will continue to use. The ziyarahs were well organised and explained well too. I will remember this trip fondly and enjoyed the company of others.

1st Umrah with Dome Tours

Professional experience!

We went on an Umrah trip with them. It was very organised with a detailed itinerary that was followed throughout. We had lectures everyday with the Ustaads which allowed us to implement practical techniques to improve our relationship with Allah. I really enjoyed some of the additional tours we did whilst out there. All the Ustaads/ Sheikhs were incredibly knowledgeable, approachable and easy to speak to. It made our whole Umrah experience really easy and coming back home I feel I have lots I can continue implementing in daily life.

Jan 2024 Umrah Trip

I recently had the opportunity to embark on an Umrah trip and it was truly a remarkable experience. I chose to travel with a reputable travel agency and they exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the moment I booked my trip, the agency provided exceptional customer service. They were prompt in responding to my inquiries and provided all the necessary information and guidance for a smooth journey. The booking process was seamless and hassle-free.

Excellent guides but poor organisation.

The guides were excellent, very helpful and informative. However, I have two complaints: Firstly the food provided at Arafat and Muzdalifa was poor. Secondly the company should have provided transport from Muzdalifa to Mina to Jamarat to Mecca. To expect elderly people to walk five and a half hours in 45 degrees centigrade heat is very unreasonable. Especially as we paid £13,000 each for our package!

Happy with Dome tours

Very excellent group to be a part of. Excellent service and overall great team. Provided us with a great communication platform. Informed us timely about being in the state of Ihram. Very patient leaders and very attentive. Helped us with our luggages. Helped with our duas. Answered all our questions. Took us on tours such as museums, mount Arafat etc. Gave us free 5l Zamzam water. Thank you to Abu hassan for guiding us through our umrah. He recited many duas with us together and performed Sai very well whilst keeping the group together. I would recommend them 1000x. May Allah bless the team and continue to support people through their journey. Stayed at movenpick and best hotel. Very close to haram. Literally 2-5 min walking distance. Stayed at Hilton in Makkah- bit of a hill but still pretty close by. The hill makes you a little tired and takes up energy you would like to keep. Still recommend both hotels and this agency. Definitely have a look into this agency.

I’ve been willing to travel with Dome Tours for a long time, and Allah SWT finally made it happen. I did not know on what kind of journey I was embarking on and it happened to be the best decision I took in 2023. I went to Hajj in 2013 with Dome Tours…

I went to Hajj in 2013 with Dome Tours and I had an amazing spiritual experience thanks first of all, to Allah (SWT), and last but not least to Dome Tours. This why this time my wife and I chose Dome Tours for Umrah. Again the experience was wonderful, thanks first of all, to Allah (SWT), and last but not least to Brother Abdelrahman and his staff at Dome Tours. Dome Tours has kept up its high standards. The booking process was straightforward and queries were efficiently dealt with, thanks to Brother Ibrar and Sister Ghizlan. Brother Abdelrahman Hilbawi was so engaging, so passionate and so knowledgeable; it was a real pleasure to follow him and listen to him during the visit to Jannat Al-Baqi, the walking tours to Masjid Quba and around the Haram Neighbourhood among other activities. Performing Umrah as a group under his inspiring and spiritual guidance was so overwhelming, so entrancing.

Great umrah experience in ds November…

Great umrah experience in ds November with Dome tours.We had ds umrah with our toddler.It was really helpful to do ds with Dome team.The whole team is careful and keeping patience as with toddler sometimes it is hard to maintain the pace.All the schedule was maintained with an excellent timing,very nice hotels and transport .Team Dome is true to their service and the costs are worthy. It was an amazing experience to learn directly in the whole tour from Shaikh @AbdelRahman_Helbawi who is very knowledgeable and humble personality. Alhumdulillah , dome tour has made our Hajj experience way better than expected. There were guides in every step. Reminder everyday to prepare us for the next day. Alhamdulilah full journey was brilliant only on Wednesday ( the first day of Jamaraat) it could have guided better as we misunderstand and followed the wrong group from Dhyooful Bait ( American group going to Mina) so end up not going to Haram … Tawafe Ziyaara delayed till Friday . there should be more visible signs for people to recognise their group and guide .

Hajj 23 - despite there being many changes to the booking and management of Hajj 23, I cannot fault any aspect of the work undertaken by DT. The admin by Ibrar bhai through to the knowledge, kindness and support of all the guides was nothing short of perfect. The mini very succinct lectures throughout the process allowed you to understand every aspect of the Hajj rituals and why they were being performed. The Ziyarats were amazing and ARH's analogies to real life did make me giggle on many occasions. I am looking forward to undertaking Umrah with DT Insha Allah in the coming year. Great experience of Hajj and Umrah

It was a wonderful experience and dome tours well coordinated and well planned it. It was a big task to coordinate so many people for Hajj and Umrah. They were always available for help and support if needed but any of the group member. Communication was great. I personally had issues with my visa and flights and they sorted out that in timely fashion. Guides were always available, even they phoned individual on their room extension to alert them for coach transfers. Arrangements at the Minhaj camp were great. Those regular reminders after each prayer were fantastic.

Assalamu Allaikum. We went to Hajj this year with DT. I have heard a lot of stories about people going to Hajj and they having problems with the company they went with or their guides but Alhamdulilah this wasn't the case with us. I could not find any fault in their service. They went above and beyond. I will definitely recommend them to everyone. Overall Alhumdullilah our Hajj 2023 experience was amazing. Dome tours and the Dome guides did a great job in helping us though our journey. A big thank you goes to our Dome Guides on the DT 1000/1100 package, they did a brilliant job in ensuring that we were looked after every step of the way, from London to Medina to Makkah and back to London. We could not have asked for better guides!!! However the one thing that needs to be improved is the Hajj application process which is managed by Nusuk. Dome tours did the best they can do to help with the application process but there were too many system errors and payment issues which Nusuk must fix to improve the process.

The most amazing Hajj experience ever, organised and run by a fantastic team. The Dome Tours team are experienced, organised, compassionate, and good humoured. They facilitated a smooth journey throughout the Hajj, with the guidance of experienced Shuyukh, who led prayers, duaas, and gave fascinating historical talks during walking tours. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Incredible service from the very start - we were kept more up to date by Dome Tours than Ministry of Hajj themselves! They need to hand over Nusuk to Dome Tours and watch it flourish. 2023 Hajj process was new to everyone, but Dome Tours were so reassuring, proactive and reliable! As official partners of Rawaf Mina, all signups will occur using the official Saudi Hajj portal ( hajj.nusuk.sa ). Once packages become available, you will be available to select Imam Tahir Anwar (El Madina Travel) as your official guide and host. We will walk you through all registrations and logistical steps. 

Step 1: Pre-Register With Us

Signing up with us does not guarantee a Hajj. It also doesn’t mean you have to travel with us. It simply means when the packages are released, we will let you know. At that time, you can choose us if you’d like to go as a part of our group. We will be a small part of the larger Saudi Hajj Agent’s company, but this way, we can be together. You are under no obligation to choose our company when the packages are released.

Pre-registering will enable us to keep you up to date on next steps and ensure you receive timely updates about potential next steps.

Step 2: Create an Account

Create an account on  https://hajj.nusuk.sa  – the website and not the NUSUK app.

Additional Information about the NUSUK website:

• If you created an account last year, it is now inactive and you will need to create a new one
• Upload your photo and passport.
• You may need to resize your image. You can do that at:  https://imageresizer.com  – Despite being the correct size, it took me about 10 tries to upload my passport. You will need to be patient and keep trying.
• Fill out the application – only answer those which have stars on them; be as brief as you can in your responses. 
• At some point, you will see ‘Application Submitted Successfully’. At this point, you are done.
• The waiting game begins to see if you get chosen or not. You will most likely not know until mid May.
• We will need to wait until the packages get released. If you have signed up on our list, we will let you know when they get released, and let you know how to pick our package if you would like to join us. We are working hard to see if we can have an option to fly from SFO for Bay Area residents, and not have to go to LAX, JFK, or IAD, insha Allah. 
• We do not have any idea on the per-person cost at this time. All payments will be paid directly to the Saudi NUSUK portal. 
• Dates: Eid al-Adha is around June 17. The approximate travel dates will be June 7 to June 23.

I have been looking at 14 day Hajj packages and have narrowed it down to choosing between these 3. I will be travelling from Scotland. I was wondering if anyone can share their experiences of these agents in order for me to make up my mind or have any other good agents they can recommend? Jazakhallah khair

This is a good website to check Hajj/Umrah operators. There are 4 pages of reviews on Arif Group. Best to read all 4 pages to get an idea of the group. And you can check the other operators you mentioned.

Thanks for your detailed info on a few threads but it's too much too late. All the hujjaj have gone or are going by the end of this week.And packages have been booked up weeks ago.

Please return next year but a bit earlier with the 2019 rates. Jzk

I had the perfect first Umrah experience with Dome Tours. I had travelled from Glasgow with a lot of family members, from the beginning the Sheiks and tour advisors were so helpful and knowledgeable they made us all feel at ease. I always felt as though I knew what I was to do, thanks to all the information they had provided us with. ‘The Easy Umrah Guide’ was a great idea to help understand the process of performing Umrah, I always had it on hand and could refer to it easily if I felt unsure and wasn’t able to get to one of the Dome Tours team members. Although, thanks to the bright pink and blue colours of the company it wasn’t hard at all to spot the team or the other members of the tour while we were travelling around Makkah and Madinah! Every single place we visited was incredible and left an impact on me. Alhamdulillah I am very grateful to Dome Tours for everything they did to provide my family and I with a wonderful Umrah experience.

We’d travelled for Hajj with Dome Tours in 2011, so we thought we’d perform Umrah with them again in March 2022. Dome Tours did not disappoint. On departure at Heathrow, their representatives were waiting for us with pre-printed luggage tags, luggage belts, and travel documents. This attention to detail exemplified the wonderful service we enjoyed throughout the trip. Our itinerary was for 10 days, cleverly constructed to allow us to experience Jumma prayers in both Mecca and Medina. Throughout the trip, the staff were accessible, informative and friendly. Nothing was too much for them. Of course, with a trip of this complexity, things can occasionally go wrong. But the staff immediately jumped in to sort out issues before they became significant. Being Arabic speakers augmented their already high standards of professionalism. We stayed in 5-star accommodation throughout. This is not boasting, it’s simply that these hotels are sited just outside the haram, meaning you spend minimal travelling to the mosque and more time in worship. This becomes extremely important at busy times, and means the difference between praying in the mosque or praying outside because inside accommodation capacity has been reached. The trip was punctuated with wonderful excursions (such as a visit to the kiswa factory, Medina museum, walking tours, and so on) which were included in the price. We were given full instructions on how to perform Umrah, along with superbly helpful tips and insights to get maximum benefit from our worship. All the staff were exceptional, but Sheikh Abdulrahman Helbawi added so much value for us in terms of his wise counsel, great humour, compassion, tolerance and wisdom. I feel I made every second of my journey count after following Abdulrahman’s advice. I took advantage of being in Saudi Arabia to independently travel to Jeddah to meet with a colleague. I found Abdulrahman waiting for me in the hotel lobby to ensure the taxi driver would charge me a fair price for the trip. This example sums up the high level of care we received by Dome Tours. We’re planning our next Umrah for November 2022, and we plan to use Dome Tours again, in’shallah. We weren’t planning to go again so soon, but this experience has generated a yearning in us to return as soon as practicable. My family and I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

Fuerza Regida new album scores Pero No Te Enamores tour: How to get tickets, concert dates

Fresas y beliconas, get ready for another unforgettable Fuerza Regida tour.

The Mexican American band, hailing from San Bernadino, California, announced a 32-date U.S. arena tour produced by Live Nation on Tuesday. Fuerza Regida's Pero No Te Enamores Tour (But Don't Fall in Love Tour) will kick off June 6 in Austin, Texas, at the Moody Center, followed by a June 9 concert in Edinburg, Texas, at the Bert Ogden Arena.

The five-man group, fronted by singer Jesús Ortiz Paz, will also play dates in San Diego, Phoenix, Seattle, San Jose, Las Vegas, San Antonio and Palm Desert. In October and November, Fuerza Regida will head to Mexico for seven shows before returning to the U.S. for its last show in Inglewood, California, at the Intuit Dome on Nov. 16.

Jesús Ortiz Paz of Fuerza Regida talks Mexican music's global rise

Fuerza Regida's upcoming nationwide tour follows a 2023 full of major accomplishments for the group.

In October, the group released its biggest album to date, "Pa Las Baby's Y Belikeada," which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Latin Albums chart and reached the Top 15 of the Billboard 200. Standout hits from the album include "TQM," "Sabor Fresa" and "Harley Quinn," which each charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "Harley Quinn," a collaboration with Marshmello, became the band's first-ever No. 1 hit on the Latin Airplay chart.

"Pa Las Baby's Y Belikeada" also earned Fuerza Regida a pair of awards — Top Duo/Group and Top Latin Duo/Group — at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards in November.

In a 2023 interview with USA TODAY, Paz spoke about Fuerza Regida leading the movement in expanding the global reach of Mexican music.

"We got into this business six years ago, and there was nothing like it," he said. "So, we're pioneers of this too. It took six years for us because everyone has a different career, but for us, to see Mexican music go global — there are no words. We're up with the rappers, the reggaetoneros. Mexican music's No. 1 right now."

Most recently, the band released its EP, "Dolido Pero No Arrepentido." The album debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart.

"The goal is to keep on staying on top, and like they say, 'Hard work beats talent.' So, we just don't stop working," Paz added. "And hopefully in the next six years, we're still on top, making global hits and still selling out stadiums and arenas — that's what we wish for, and hopefully it goes down."
