Share All sharing options for: Keon Coleman’s first 24 hours as NFL rookie were pure joy for Bills

The Bills were widely panned after Day 1 of the NFL Draft for trading back twice, while enabling the Kansas City Chiefs to get their guy in Xavier Worthy. That all washed away pretty quickly on Day 2, when Buffalo picked Keon Coleman and we learned what an utter delight he is.

Coleman is from small-town central Louisiana, and it became impossible not to love his attitude as soon as he entered the building. Each Keon Coleman moment was better than the last, as he just relished in the moment.

During his first press conference he gave shopping tips on how to save money.

This is the start of Keon Coleman's first press conference as a member of the Buffalo Bills. Covering this man is going to be a real treat. #BillsMafia @WKBW pic.twitter.com/Hpy2TQmMvU — Matthew Bové (@Matt_Bove) April 27, 2024

This is so relatable, because I do the EXACT same thing. It’s getting to be coat buying season for me now, actually. Thanks for the reminder, Keon.

Then he was thrifty in the building by spying the media snack table and eyeing those Wegman’s cookies.

Former #FSU WR Keon Coleman finished his introductory press conference with the Bills and asked if he can have some of the snacks… Coleman then shared a cookie with a media member #Noles ( @Matt_Bove ) pic.twitter.com/mtcSCQ0sLB — Logan B. Robinson (@LogansTwitty) April 27, 2024

The Bills posted video of his first 24 hrs, which included being shook that the hotel he was in had an ice rink instead of a pool.

Then he ran for an imaginary touchdown, because of course he did.

A tour of the cryo room made him feel like The Undertaker.

There’s just something about this 2024 class. So many of these guys are uniquely unafraid to be themselves. This was the first Gen Z draft, and from Caleb Williams’ style, to Rome Odunze knowing he’ll never be a pilot, Xavier Legette embracing being country, and Keon Coleman’s thriftiness — it really feels like we’re going to get so many fan favorites out of this year alone.

Impossible not to root for Keon Coleman.

Two teams looking to bounce back from disappointing losses go head-to-head in Townsville, with the Cowboys aiming to repeat their dominant Round 1 win against the Dolphins.

Last round, the Cowboys went down to the Panthers in a close match, where their second half fightback was not enough to run down the reigning premiers who got out to a fast-start to lead 18-4 at the break, eventually winning 26-20.

North Queensland did their best to create chances against Penrith, producing 16 offloads compared to the three by the Panthers, but could not find a way to break their defensive resolve.

The Dolphins too left their best work until late in their match against Knights, starting the game 'flat' according to coach Wayne Bennett.

He'll be looking for a much better start from his side who scored two tries in the last three minutes to bring the scores to a respectable margin, with the normally dependable boot of Jamayne Isaako not finding the target, only kicking one from three conversion attempts in the 18-14 loss.

Dolphins captain Jesse Bromwich is set to have scans after succumbing to a calf issue, while the club has younger brother Kenny will be unavailable as he in concussion protocols.

Cowboys coach Todd Payten will have to manage a stint without centre Tom Chester, who tore his hamstring in the first half of Saturday night's match. Chester had been filling in for PNG Kumul Zac Laybutt, whose season ended two weeks ago after rupturing his ACL, but scans confirmed a tear with will keep Chester from the game for four weeks.

Sportsbet Betting Preview - Cowboys v Dolphins

Cowboys:  Heilum Luki is named to play for the first time since being injured in Round 2, with his return on the bench coming at the expense of veteran Jake Granville who drops back to the wider reserves. Former Warriors Rookie of the Year Viliami Vailea will make his club debut in the centres, replacing Tom Chester who is out with a hamstring injury.

Dolphins:  A huge boost for coach Wayne Bennett with Felise Kaufusi and Connelly Lemuelu named to make their return from injury and skipper Jesse Bromwich set to shake off a calf issue from Round 8 and take the field. His younger brother Kenny is out though, after failing a HIA in the loss to the Knights. Oryn Keeley is the other player who drops out of the 17.
