Sedaris became a household name in 1992 after performing his essay “Santaland Diaries” on NPR’s Morning Edition . Since then, Sedaris has been a frequent contributor to Ira Glass’s weekly NPR program This American Life and has penned more than a dozen collections of short stories and essays, including Calypso, Me Talk Pretty One Day , and the number-one New York Times bestseller Happy-Go-Lucky . His works regularly appear in The New Yorker, have twice been published in The Best American Essays, and have been nominated for five Grammy Awards. Join Sedaris for an evening of readings and reflections followed by a Q&A session.

Author David Sedaris to Tour to 44 Cities Promoting "Happy Go Lucky"

Starting March 30, author David Sedaris ("Me Talk Pretty One Day") will begin on a 44-city world tour. The tour will be promoting his latest book, "Happy Go Lucky."

Sedaris appeared on "Real Time with Bill Maher" this week to promote the upcoming tour.

From Sedaris' website:

Back when restaurant menus were still printed on paper, and wearing a mask—or not—was a decision made mostly on Halloween, David Sedaris spent his time doing normal things. As Happy-Go-Lucky opens, he is learning to shoot guns with his sister, visiting muddy flea markets in Serbia, buying gummy worms to feed to ants, and telling his nonagenarian father wheelchair jokes.

But then the pandemic hits, and like so many others, he’s stuck in lockdown, unable to tour and read for audiences, the part of his work he loves most. To cope, he walks for miles through a nearly deserted city, smelling only his own breath. He vacuums his apartment twice a day, fails to hoard anything, and contemplates how sex workers and acupuncturists might be getting by during quarantine.

As the world gradually settles into a new reality, Sedaris too finds himself changed. His offer to fix a stranger’s teeth rebuffed, he straightens his own, and ventures into the world with new confidence. Newly orphaned, he considers what it means, in his seventh decade, no longer to be someone’s son. And back on the road, he discovers a battle-scarred America: people weary, storefronts empty or festooned with Help Wanted signs, walls painted with graffiti reflecting the contradictory messages of our time: Eat the Rich. Trump 2024. Black Lives Matter.

In Happy-Go-Lucky, David Sedaris once again captures what is most unexpected, hilarious, and poignant about these recent upheavals, personal and public, and expresses in precise language both the misanthropy and desire for connection that drive us all. If we must live in interesting times, there is no one better to chronicle them than the incomparable David Sedaris.

Writer, humorist, and master of satire David Sedaris returns to Salt Lake City for an evening of readings and recollections, Q&A, and book signing. One of the country’s preeminent humor writers, beloved for his personal essays and short stories, Sedaris writes in a style both autobiographical and self-deprecating, ruminating on family life, his middle-class, suburban upbringing, homosexuality, drug use, and obsessive behaviors. Several of his books have graced national bestseller lists, including Calypso , Naked , Me Talk Pretty One Day , Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim ; his latest book Happy-Go-Lucky was published last May by Little, Brown and Company.

David Sedaris — author of the bestsellers Calypso, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim , and regular National Public Radio contributor — will be appearing for one night only in San Jose.

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, Mr. Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. The NPR humorist and bestselling author is bringing his 'An Evening with David Sedaris' shows back Down Under.

Whenever an exciting tour announcement arrives, it usually heralds two pieces of good news. Firstly, someone ace is coming our way. Secondly, they probably have something new — an album or a book — to spruik.

That's firmly the case with the latest revelation for 2023: David Sedaris' next Australia tour. This time, the author, comedian and NPR humorist has just dropped New York Times best seller Happy-Go-Lucky , and he's heading to Hobart, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to talk about it.

Known for his snappy wit, as well as his discerning and astute ability to observe life's moments — both trivial and extraordinary — in both an observational and unique way, Sedaris is making his sixth trip Down Under to chat about the book, which focuses on the pandemic.

It is official! As it has been announced just a few minutes ago, the Hans Zimmer Live – Europe Tour , will come back in 2023!

“Following the major success of his recent tour across Europe, Hans Zimmer is excited to announce the continuation of this smash-hit tour.

Starting in April 2023, the world-renowned film composer will return to Europe with his extraordinary band and orchestra for the “Hans Zimmer Live – Europe Tour 2023”. This arena tour will comprise 32 concerts in 15 countries, including new stops in Portugal, Spain, Slovakia and Germany.

In a groundbreaking audio and visual show, the multiple Academy Award® and Grammy winning Zimmer, his band and the Odessa Opera Orchestra & Friends will perform the composer’s worldwide successes. The newly arranged concert suites include music from GLADIATOR, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, THE DARK KNIGHT, INTERSTELLAR, THE LION KING, THE LAST SAMURAI and DUNE, for which Zimmer received his second Academy Award® during his previous tour stop in Amsterdam.

“I’m thrilled to return to the stage for another tour in Europe and excited to share this phenomenal show that the band and I are preparing for,” said Zimmer. “I’m grateful to be able to play our music that brings together so many people for a truly unforgettable experience.””

IndieWire’s Consider This FYC event returned once again on Saturday to celebrate the craftsmanship and collaboration that goes into making our favorite shows. In front of a packed crowd at The Grove in Los Angeles, artists who worked on the Paramount+ shows “Fellow Travelers,” “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” “A Gentleman in Moscow,” “Frasier,” “Colin from Accounts,” and “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” convened for a series of panels about the art of television moderated by IndieWire editors.

The event, produced in partnership with Paramount+, highlighted artists from every stage of the production process. From stars and showrunners to costumers, production designers, composers, editors, and VFX artists, the event reflected IndieWire’s commitment to celebrating above-the-line and below-the-line artists in equal measure. And while the panels focused on shows that could be major players in the upcoming Emmy race, the artists and craftspeople all made it clear that the of working with elite collaborators is its own reward.
