Brought my family here for Father's Day weekend. Let me just say we were not disappointed. Amazing experience all around. Now I don't want you to be alarmed when you don't see everyone smiling. Some of the workers are counting the passengers. The views along the Potomac are so beautiful. The ride was incredibly smooth. It was nice that there was a twenty minute break in Virginia before the boat returned us to the national harbor. We were able to walk around and get food. The ride was so peaceful and smooth. I can't wait to come back and repeat this.

We took a trip from the Wharf to Alexandria and then Alexandria back to Georgetown and has a nice time! They left super promptly which was nice and the staff was very helpful and kind. Top deck views are nice and plenty of indoor seating too. They sell soft drinks and water too if you need a snack on the ride. It's definitely not a cheap ride but we'll worth it for an occasional trip. The sight seeing tour was interesting to hear some facts that we weren't even aware of, as locals. Highly recommend!

Awesome views
We took the water taxi for the first time, wanted to experience a different view point of DC from the water, and we were not disappointed, other than it was a bit cloudy, everything else worked out great. The water taxi ticket price was under $30 per person. The boat was clean with simple drinks and snacks can be purchased on boat. Bathroom was clean and staff was friendly. Most importantly, they were on time for the stops and gos . One note on walking direction to the boat location. In case you are not familiar with Georgetown area, when walking to the dock, click on the map link to see address and do not follow the address on the bottom of your confirmation email.

Potomac Water Taxi. From National Harbor it goes to Old Town Alexandria then to Georgetown and the DC Wharf. It's like $25 a person or something for access. Very scenic and relaxing trip. Solved the parking problem endemic to these areas. Hop off wherever you want to and hop back on later anywhere along the line. Me and a couple of my homegirls went restaurant hopping. First stop before boarding.... ** Savannah Candy Kitchen - Yummy pralines! Best ones this dude of Nawlins. The caramel apple slaps too. Restaurant Crawl! On the boat @11:20a then off in Old Town stopping at: **The Majestic - meh, not particularly majestic. **Don Taco - Great margaritas of course. Love this place. **Vola's Dockside - good seafood and fries. Super crowded! Even had a long line for the bathroom. They have these hush puppies with jalapenos and cheese inside of them that were really good - and I actually hate hush puppies. **CXIII Rex - everybody grabbed a couple of cigars **Blackwall Hitch - Meh. The one in Gambrills is better. The ambiance here is cool though. ** Ada's on The River - who doesn't love the vibe here? We just had a drink cuz we were running out of time and didn't want to literally, miss the boat. Then back to the boat @6:20p for return to NH and a quick stop at V-No Wine Bar. Marvelous views especially as the sun started to set!! 7 mi of walking and we were fairly intoxicated by the end lol. Disregard my head missing on one of the pictures. Somebody goofy/halfway blind took that pic.

Nice cool breeze. Enjoyed the ride from Alexandria to the National harbor. It's best to go when the sun goes down. We rode the top deck which was cool. It's best to reserve your seats ahead of time. It can be a little costly if you're with more than two ppl. They go to three locations. The wharf, the National harbor, Alexandria and Georgetown. Georgetown is a guided tour that's narrated. It costs a bit more. Remember to ask for a round trip ticket, so you can go back to where you originated.

I really enjoy cruising the water taxis on the Potomac. A very pleasant way to beat the traffic. It's $22 each way during the week and $27 each way on weekends. They do have beer, wine & snacks for sale on board. My only issues are they need to run more frequently especially if they're selling it has a commuter option and a late night option for the wharf.
Really nice way to spend an afternoon on the water. It's kinda cool to see the Lincoln Memorial from the backside, along the Potomac. Also fun to see planes taking off and landing at national Airport.

Loveeee the little cruises!!!!! I've only taken it once it's chill cozy and fun. Better if you go in person for help with tickets. Left on time, friendly staff
We took the water taxi to Georgetown as a way to see the sites. It was a great way to see the monuments. Many, including us, just stayed on the boat for the trip up to Georgetown and back to Alexandria. The other option is to disembark, explore Georgetown, and return on a later boat. They had very friendly staff. There is even a snack bar on board! Be advised, when you book the tickets online they talked about an audio program. However, the audio program is on speakers on the boat not on the app, at least for this trip. The boat had plenty of space and it's a great way to see a lot with no walking in a pleasant environment!
We were a family of four with two small kids and bought passes in advance for the trip from Alexandria back to the wharf. We were running close to the departure time and ran to catch the boat. We got there one minute before the stated departure time, but the captain already closed the gates. I tried to get the captain's assistant's attention but he pretended not to hear. He finally responded when a passenger pointed that there were a family trying to get on. He said he could not let us on because "the lines were drawn" even though the ship was still next to the pier. I think it's unfair because we got there by the departure time and they should let us on the boat. The ticket agent said some captains tend to leave early. I understand why some captains might want to do this, but if the company wants to improve their service, they should not allow captains to dictate departure times like this. We had to wait for the next departure and arrived 30 minutes in advance just to be safe. Fellow passengers should be aware.
