Family guy: 10 episodes where quagmire stole the show.

Family Guy has delivered plenty of episodes with Quagmire at the center. These storylines saw the Griffin's neighbor really steal the show.

There's excellent news for cartoon fans as The Simpsons , Bob's Burgers , and Family Guy have all been renewed for further seasons (per NME ). The news means that Family Guy  will be fast approaching its 25th anniversary, and there's no end in sight for the Griffin family and the cast of colorful characters around them.

One character who will hopefully continue to see development over the show's upcoming seasons is Glenn Quagmire. The Griffin's neighbor started out as the perverted comic relief character during the early seasons. However, as time has passed, he has become just as essential as the Griffins themselves. There have been various episodes that see Quagmire as a Cat Cafe owner, running for mayor, and even pretending Brian is his dog to impress a girl. As a result, there have been plenty of times where Quagmire has stolen the show.

"The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire" (Season 4, Episode 5)

Quagmire is a character that has matured over the years, but he used to be pretty awful. There have been a couple of instances where his actions would actually have drastic effects on his friends, but this was probably the worst.

This episode saw Quagmire and Cleveland's ex-wife, Loretta as they attempt to hide that they are having an affair, but are soon discovered by Peter and Brian. Keep in mind, this was back when Cleveland was a bland character who hadn't been fleshed out much, so this incident was a character-defining moment for both of them.

"I Take Thee, Quagmire" (Season 4, Episode 21)

Quagmire may date a lot of women, but he was never one for true commitment. This episode sees Quagmire as he falls in love with and marries Peter's maid only to immediately regret it, causing him and the guys to concoct a scheme to fake his death.

This episode is notable for being the first time Quagmire develops legitimate feelings for someone. He has since become more fleshed out as a character and has had various serious relationships, but this was the episode that made viewers realize he is more than the sexually driven character he has been portrayed as before this.

"Meet The Quagmires" (Season 5, Episode 18)

Listed as the best episode of Family Guy season 5 , "Meet The Quagmires" was the episode that showed just how long Quagmire has been infatuated with Lois. When Peter makes the mistake of going back in time to be 18 again, he causes a ripple effect that leads to Quagmire and Lois getting together.

Since this episode, fans have been treated to more information that reveals the depth of Quagmire's crush on Lois, but this episode shows a scenario where they actually could have gotten married. Obviously, this episode has no drastic repercussions on the character's history, but it still serves as a fun what-if scenario with Quagmire at the center.

"Quagmire's Baby" (Season 8, Episode 6)

When Quagmire finds a baby with a note left at his front door, he discovers that the child belongs to someone he had slept with in the past. Feeling like he was unable to raise her on his own, Quagmire puts the child up for adoption.

Since this episode, there have been moments that focus on Quagmire's softer side, but this was the first time viewers got to see him take on the role of a single father. He may have decided to put the child up for adoption, but the episode still shows that he is an honest and loyal man who one day could be a great father.

"Quagmire's Dad" (Season 8, Episode 18)

When Quagmire's father comes to visit, Peter and Joe express that they believe Quagmire's father could gay. He is mortified to discover that his intent for the trip was to get a sex change, and hopes that Quagmire can support her. It takes a while, but Quagmire eventually accepts his father's choice.

Dan Quagmire (now Ida Davis) has made many notable appearances since this season 8 episode, and she is even one of Brian's past girlfriends. This episode is notable because Quagmire was able to put aside his memories of his father and accept this change.

"Tiegs For Two" (Season 9, Episode 14)

When Quagmire holds a class for getting with women, Brian decides to join thinking he will find love but discovers the class is only for cheap hook-ups, leading him to use these tactics on Cheryl Tiegs out of spite.

Quagmire retaliates by doing the same to Brian's former girlfriend and  one of Brian's most questionable dating choices , Jillian. Eventually, both girls leave the guys when they see they are being used.

"Meg And Quagmire" (Season 10, Episode 10)

In this bizarre season 10 episode, Meg Griffin turns 18, which is basically just a green light for Quagmire. When Peter discovers Quagmire's intentions, he and Lois aim to end their relationship.

This episode isn't integral to the overall story, but it still is an entertaining one. Quagmire has spent years making jokes about the day Meg turns 18, and this episode shows viewers just that. Luckily, Peter and Lois realize how weird their relationship is and stop them before they could do anything at Quagmire's remote cabin.

"Quagmire's Mom" (Season 13, Episode 10)

Quagmire has mentioned his mother in past seasons, but little was known about her until this season 13 episode. When Peter throws a party, Quagmire brings a girl and eventually sleeps with her, but soon discovers the girl was still in high school (a possible reason he is seen as one of Family Guy's most hated characters ).

During his trial, Quagmire expresses that he blames his mother's active sex life when he was growing up, leading her to reveal that she has committed to Christianity and aims to prove Quagmire's innocence. Nothing really happens in the end, and the conclusion is Family Guy's typical lack of repercussions for Quagmire's actions.

"Candy, Quahog, Marshmallow" (Season 14, Episode 10)

In this episode, when Peter and the guys are looking through old boxes at Quagmire's, they uncover old videotapes of Quagmire during his time as a Korean soap opera star. Once they all watch the tapes, they realize the show's final episode is missing, naturally making them unanimously decide to take a trip to Korea to find it.

Once they arrive, they almost immediately run into his former co-star, Sujin, who reveals she has the last tape. Upon watching it and reminiscing about the past, Quagmire decides to stay (until the guys sing "Candy, Quahog, Marshmallow"). This episode serves as another reminder that Quagmire has had a storied past, making him one of the show's most interesting characters.

"American Gigg-olo" (Season 15, Episode 3)

Every once in a while, the Family Guy writer's room decides to write an episode highlighting Quagmire as a pilot to make him seem like a more upstanding citizen. In this season 15 episode, Quagmire and other pilots go on strike.

When Quagmire decides to take a break from his protests, he wanders into a bar where a bachelorette party is being held, where they mistake him as a stripper. He decides to play along, realizing that it's right up his alley. This episode isn't necessarily important, but it is still one that reminds fans, "who else but Quagmire?"

The verbal equivalent of Exactly What I Aimed At , this is when a character deliberately says one thing, and is mistaken for having meant to say another thing. Cue another character wrongfully "correcting" them.

A sub-variety of this is things that are mistaken for misspellings or mispronunciations, but these aren't the only cases.

Ryuji: You mean "wouldn't" wish it on your worst enemy, right? Haru: That was not a typo, Ryuji-kun.
• Past Sins : At the end, when talking about Spell Nexus, calling him a drama queen instead of a drama king: [Spell Nexus] can be such a drama queen at times.” “Don’t you mean ‘king’?” “No, queen,” Celestia corrected with a small grin. “Don’t tell anypony else, but he has a very high-pitched scream.”
• In Iron Man 3 , after Tony reboots JARVIS, JARVIS reports that "I seem to do quite well for a stretch and then at the end of the sentence I say the wrong cranberry." As a result, when he tells Tony a few minutes later that the Mandarin is in Miami as opposed to somewhere more exotic, Tony has trouble believing him. But no, he actually did mean Miami.

• In the novel Freaky Friday , Annabel's friend Boris has problems breathing through his nose, and when he offers to "bake a beetloaf" for dinner, she assumes he means "make a meatloaf". He doesn't. (Also, his name is actually Morris, but that's a case of Annabel failing to correct for his pronunciation.)
• In " The Singing Bell " by Isaac Asimov , a police officer claims that he cannot prove the suspect's guilt because he has no alibi. Not because he has one, but because he doesn't. A document or witness can be suspected of being false, but when a person is simply known to live in complete isolation for a month every year, what reason is there to assume this year was different?
• In Jingo , Sergeant Colon, Corporal Nobbs, Leonard of Quirm and Lord Vetinari are flying across Klatch on a flying carpet. Colon is not happy with this: Colon: It's not natural, just a bit of broadloom between you and certain splash. Vetinari: We're not over water, sergeant. Colon: I know what I meant, sir!
• Mr. Rumbold from Are You Being Served? would sometimes get the wrong idea of a word. For example the sales staff had the verb "to knee" meaning "press one's knee in the armhole of a suit to loosen a few threads so as to make it fit the customer better." • There is a sketch involving a man who cannot pronounce the letter 'C' (his 'C's coming out as 'B's) that includes this exchange: Tourist: Yes I'm sorry I can't say the letter 'B' Bounder: C? Tourist: Yes that's right. It's all due to a trauma I suffered when I was a sboolboy. I was attacked by a bat. Bounder: A cat? Tourist: No, a bat.
• Another Monty Python example is a sketch about a person who sometimes ends his sentences with the wrong fusebox. Burrows: It's so embarrassing when my wife and I go to an orgy. Thripshaw: A party? Burrows: No, an orgy. We live in Esher. Thripshaw: Quite.

Claire assumes she means the expression "go jump in a lake", but Gloria meant exactly what she said: she wanted Claire to jump in the pool with her clothes on, embarrassing herself like Gloria had been embarrassed.

NBCUniversal To Launch 'Rings Across America' Tour Ahead of Olympic Games Paris 2024

NBCUniversal is once again giving U.S. fans the opportunity to touch the Olympic Games by re-launching “Rings Across America,” a cross-country tour that features an enormous Olympic rings display and will promote NBCU’s coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The 20-foot-long interactive exhibit will stop at iconic locations across the country and some of the nation’s biggest sporting events leading up to the Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26.

“Rings Across America” will initially stop at the following locations with more to be added:

• Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida : THE PLAYERS (March 14-17)
• Nashville, Tennessee : Premier League Fan Fest (April 6-7)
• Louisville, Kentucky : Kentucky Derby (May 4)
• Indianapolis, Indiana : Indy 500 (May 26)

Fans at these iconic sporting events — all airing across NBCU platforms — will be able to pose for photos in front of the iconic symbol and possibly meet Team USA Olympians and Olympic hopefuls. As the Rings traverse the country, they will be visible to fans as they are transported from one event to the next.

The exhibit stopped at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando this past February. While stationed at THE PLAYERS Championship, the Rings will be located near the famed 17 th hole at TPC Sawgrass. The base of the Rings will be wrapped in 2024 Paris Olympics tune-in information throughout the duration of its tour.

“Our country is filled with Olympic fans and ‘Rings Across America’ gives them a chance to interact with the Games even though the Paris Olympics are taking place thousands of miles away,” said Lyndsay Signor, Senior Vice President, Consumer Engagement, NBC Sports.

Displaying the Rings, one of the most recognizable symbols of the Olympic movement, while moving across the country provides even more awareness, and excitement for our coverage of these highly anticipated Games.

NBCU platforms will provide coverage of each of the four events scheduled on the Rings tour. THE PLAYERS Championship will air live on NBC, GOLF Channel, and Peacock from March 14-17. NBC Sports’ Premier League studio commentators will be on-site in Nashville at the Premier League Fan Fest, airing April 6-7 on NBC, USA Network and Peacock. Coverage of the 150 th Kentucky Derby will air live on May 4 across NBC, USA Network, and Peacock. The 108 th running of the Indianapolis 500 will air live on NBC and Peacock on May 26.

Every day of the Paris Olympic Games, NBC will provide fans with at least nine hours of daytime coverage of the Summer Games’ most exciting events, including live finals coverage of swimming, gymnastics, track & field, and more. Paris 2024 will have more programming hours on the NBC broadcast network than any previous Olympics. Given the time difference and following live coverage all day, NBC will deliver an enhanced Olympics primetime show, providing three hours of edge-of-your-seat entertainment each night.

Peacock will be the streaming home of the 2024 Paris Olympics, providing fans with the most comprehensive Olympic destination in U.S. media history. In a Summer Games first, the service will stream every sport and event, including all 329 medal events, and will feature full-event replays; all NBC programming; curated video clips; virtual channels; exclusive original programming; and more.

NBC and Peacock will present live coverage of the Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26, beginning at Noon ET. Telemundo will provide Spanish-language coverage beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Primetime coverage will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock.

Just 48 hours after a show in San Diego and less than 24 hours before he is set to perform at San Francisco’s Chase Center, Bruce Springsteen logged some serious (private) air miles for a surprise performance at country superstar Zach Bryan ‘s concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Wednesday night.

Singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers , who is featured on Bryan’s “Dawns,” performed that song with the headliner earlier in the evening and joined him for the encores with Springsteen.

While the concert presumably wasn’t the only reason Springsteen flew cross-country, his history has shown he’ll pick up a guitar and join a friend onstage whenever he has time.

Earlier this month, Bryan broke an attendance record in Springsteen’s home state of New Jersey at the Prudential Center in Newark on March 15. Bryan’s “Quittin Time” tour marked the highest attendance ever for a single show in the Newark arena’s 16-plus year history with 19,151 guests in attendance.

Springsteen and the E Street Band’s 2024 tour consists partially of dates he’d rescheduled from last year after suffering a peptic ulcer. The dates in the U.S. are in two groups: a month-long swing taking place in mid-March through mid-April, followed by a second month’s worth of shows in mid-August through mid-September, with European shows coming in-between.

Mickey Mouse Going on Tour, Disney Park Taking Parade Cross-Country

One Disney resort is set to go on on a country-wide parade tour this summer.

Parades are part of the package of any good Disney vacation, with every Disney resort around the world boasting at least one daily procession packed with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other beloved characters.

While you normally need to be in a Disney theme park to enjoy the parade magic firsthand, that’s all about to change in May.

Tokyo Disney Resort has just dropped the dates for its own country-wide parade tour, in which Japan residents can enjoy “Jamboli Mickey” beyond the perimeters of Tokyo Disneyland.

“Mickey Mouse and his friends will be taking part in festival parades across the country in time for “Jamboli Mickey!” as they fly out of Tokyo Disney Resort, which is in full swing with the opening of the new 8th themed port at Tokyo DisneySea, ‘Fantasy Springs,’ the resort says on its website .

Disney characters will participate in festival parades in three cities throughout Japan.

• May 5: Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture
• May 20: Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture
• May 26: Hita City, Oita Prefecture

Other cities will reportedly be added in the coming weeks. The parade won’t feature the same floats or characters seen in Tokyo Disneyland’s current daily parade, Harmony in Color, which launched last year as a part of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 40th Anniversary celebration and has proven wildly successful with parkgoers .

Tokyo Disney Resort is yet to confirm which characters will appear in the parade, it’s safe to assume that Mickey and Minnie are a given. Tokyo Disney also claims that local children will star in each city’s parade .

While this parade tour is intended to promote and celebrate the opening of Fantasy Springs – a brand-new land in Tokyo DisneySea featuring areas inspired by Frozen (2013), Tangled (2010), and Peter Pan (1953) – Tokyo Disney Resort previously did something similar to mark its 40th Anniversary. From April to October 2023, it hosted parades at various festivals throughout Japan, including Urayasu City, Wakayama City, Kobe City, Niigata City, Toyama City, Ise City, and Iwakura City.

Kipkemboi, daniel, kwizera and chelimo in the spotlight at campaccio.

Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi, Rahel Daniel, Rodrigue Kwizera and Oscar Chelimo headline the 66th edition of the Campaccio-International Cross Country in San Giorgio su Legnano, the 10th Gold level race of this season’s World Athletics Cross Country Tour , on Friday (6).

Kenya’s two-time world medallist Kipkemboi took second place in her only previous appearance at Campaccio in 2020 and finished third at the Boclassic in Bolzano on Saturday. Throughout her career she has demonstrated her versatility, clocking 8:21.53 in the 3000m, 14:27.12 in the 5000m, 29:50 in the 10km on the road, 30:10.07 in the 10,000m and 1:05:26 in the half marathon.

Kipkemboi will take on Eritrea’s Daniel, who won the Cross Country Tour races in Atapuerca in 2021 and Albufeira in 2022, and finished second in last year’s Campaccio behind Dawit Seyaum in an exciting final sprint. She topped the overall standings in the Cross Country Tour last year and finished fifth in the 10,000m at the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 with a national record of 30:12.15.

Nadia Battocletti leads the Italian challenge in the women’s race. The 22-year-old construction engineering student inherited a passion for cross country from her father Giuliano Battocletti and started her career by competing in the junior and youth races at Campaccio.

Battocletti won the fourth European cross country gold medal of her career and her second consecutive continental U23 title on the challenging course of the Mandria Park in Venaria Reale near Turin last December. On Friday she will be aiming to become the first Italian runner to reach a top-three spot at Campaccio since 2010.

So far this cross country season she has finished sixth in Atapuerca ahead of Yasemin Can and second in Alcobendas behind Lucy Maiwa. In her previous appearances at Campaccio, Battocletti placed sixth in 2022, and in 2018 and in 2019 when she was an U20 athlete.

Joining them on Friday will be Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw, who finished second in Albufeira in 2022, and Francine Niyomokunzi from Burundi, who finished third at two cross country races at Vallagarina in Rovereto and Alcobendas in 2022, plus Miriam Chebet from Kenya, who finished fourth at the Cursa dels Nassos in Barcelona on Saturday.

Italy’s Anna Arnaudo finished sixth, contributing to her nation’s U23 team gold medal at the European Cross Country Championships in Fingal-Dublin in 2021, and won a European U23 team silver medal in Venaria Reale in December. The 22-year-old finished ninth at last year’s edition of Campaccio.

The other Italian athletes to watch are Federica Del Buono, who won mixed relay gold at the European Cross Country Championships in Venaria Reale and European indoor 1500m bronze in Prague in 2015, and Ludovica Cavalli, who won team U23 silver at the European Cross Country Championships in Venaria Reale.

In the men’s race, Burundi’s Kwizera will be aiming to win his fourth World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold race of the season after his victories in Alcobendas, Amorebieta and Venta de Banos, plus a second place finish in Seville. Kwizera topped the leaderboard at the end of last season’s Cross Country Tour thanks to his wins in Soria, Seville, Venta de Banos and Albufeira.

Another Burundian athlete in the line-up is Egide Ntakarutimana, who improved his PB in the 5000m to 13:08.43 at the Palio della Quercia in Rovereto last August.

They will face Uganda’s Chelimo, who won world U20 cross country bronze in Aarhus in 2019 and finished third in the 5000m at the World Championships in Oregon last year.  

Chelimo recently won the Boclassic 10km in Bolzano for the second time, beating Italy’s Yemaneberhan Crippa by three seconds, and finished third at Campaccio in 2021 in a race won by his brother Jacob Kiplimo.

Chelimo will renew his rivalry with Crippa, who enjoyed a successful 2022 by winning European 10,000m gold and bronze in the 5000m. Crippa also broke the Italian half marathon record with 59:26 in Naples, becoming the first Italian athlete to hold national records in the 3000m, 5000m, 10,000m and h alf marathon. The 26-year-old finish ed fourth in a close race at the European Cross Country Championships in Venaria Reale, leading Italy to second place in the team contest. In his previous appearances at Campaccio, Crippa finished fourth in 2019 and 2020 and sixth in 2018. Now he is using cross country as preparation for his marathon debut in Milan on 2 April.

Birhanu Balew of Bahrain will make his third appearance in a cross country competition since the start of 2022 after finishing second at the Arab Cross Country Championships last February and in the World Athletics Cross Country Tour race in Bydgoszcz last October. Balew placed sixth in the Olympic 5000m final in Tokyo and set his PB of 12:56.26 in Rome in 2019.

Another top Italian runner in the line-up is 2018 European 3000m steeplechase bronze medallist Yohanes Chiappinelli, who finished seventh in the past three editions of Campaccio and placed eighth at the European Cross Country Championships in Venaria Reale, contributing to the team silver team medal for his nation.

Iliass Aouani started his cross country season in 2022 with an eighth-place finish at last year’s Campaccio and a national title in Trieste last March. He finished second in Amorebieta and fourth in Soria before winning the J Medical Cross in Venaria Reale, but he had to miss the European Cross Country Championships on home soil due to a bout of covid. He made his comeback at the San Silvestre Vallecana in Madrid where he ran the 10km in 28:45, missing his PB by 21 seconds.

The line-up is completed by Italy’s multiple world mountain medallist Francesco Puppi, 2022 Campaccio 10th-place finisher Luca Alfieri, European cross country team silver medallist Pasquale Selvarolo and marathon runner Alessandro Giacobazzi, plus Tunisia’s Mohamed Jhinaoui, who placed ninth at Campaccio last year and set a steeplechase PB of 8:16.38 in Rome in 2022, and Sweden’s Emil Millan de la Oliva, who finished 11th in the U23 race at the European Cross Country Championships in 2021.  

The list of past Campaccio winners includes Francesco Panetta (1986, 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1993), Gelindo Bordin (1988), Haile Gebrselassie (1994), Kenenisa Bekele (2002), Sergiy Lebid (2003 and 2005), Eliud Kipchoge (2009), Muktar Edris (2013 and 2017) and Jacob Kiplimo (2021) in the men’s race, and Merima Denboba (2001), Paula Radcliffe (2002), Aniko Kalovics (2004, 2009, 2010 and 2011), Hellen Obiri (2017), Yasemin Can (2019) and Dawit Seyaum (2022) in the women’s race.

Moscow Metro 2019

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

There are also signs on the platfrom. They will help you to havigate yourself. (To the lines 3 and 5 in this case).
