To further support teachers and students as the demands of classrooms continue to change, Voyager Sopris Learning has refined these solutions to enhance reading and writing instruction and meet the unique needs of each student.

Sound Partners

Now in its second edition, Sound Partners is a supplementary tutoring program designed to enhance early reading skills. The program uses research-based strategies that align to the science of reading and emphasizes decoding, word identification, and spelling skills. It integrates these skills into storybook reading practice, applying word-reading strategies in context, and includes oral reading sessions to reinforce learning. Sound Partners benefits students learning to read in grades K–1 and provides intervention for students in grades 2–3.

New to this edition of Sound Partners is a revised layout for easy lesson delivery; robust Tutor Lesson Book; new, consumable Student Lesson Book(s); and an updated Scope and Sequence to reflect the latest research.

Step Up to Writing

Now in its fifth edition, Step Up to Writing is a comprehensive program of multisensory writing strategies that develop students’ ability to create thoughtful, well-written compositions. The solution’s explicit and systematic approach to teaching writing is designed to provide clear strategies, methods, and support for increased writing success in all content areas. Created for all students, the strategies can be integrated into any curriculum or implemented as a standalone writing solution.

Step Up to Writing has been updated to help educators explicitly teach every aspect of writing students need to meet state standards. Strategies not only teach the three text types—informative/explanatory, opinion/argumentative, and narrative—but also many of the standards in reading, speaking and listening, and language and literacy standards in history, social studies, science, and technical subjects.

Other updates include a completely redesigned educator interface to easily access, search, and favorite tools and resources needed for effective delivery of Step Up to Writing ; a new format for on-demand teacher training; and new, consumable student Handy Pages that serve as a tool for both reference and practice.
