Broke the chain on my mountain bike. Of course I wait until a beautiful Saturday to run down to Saraaota Cyclery to see if they can "fix it real quick" vs trying to order stuff on Amazon. Store was packed and the bike tech had a bunch of bikes behind the counter waiting to be serviced I showed him my dirty Mtn bike and broken chain. He checked my chain to make sure it was still good and that I did not need a new chain. He could have tried to "up sell me" to buy a new chain but did not. Said my chain was still good. Then God bless him said "give me 5 min" and took my bike away and within 10 minutes had it all done. Wow! Amazing and I am so grateful to him (Ken was the name on the receipt) and a that kind of customer service. Of course feeling guilty I bought a new water bottle and some GU's and Honey Stingers. You rock Sarasots Cycle and I will be back!!!

This about electric bikes, and those people who want to buy one. After doing extensive research on electric bikes the thing I learned is that these vehicles have been commoditized. In other words, the parts used to build them are identical or very, very similar between brands. I went to the store and looked at the products they were selling. I compared the componentry in those bicycles to higher end bikes like Pedigo and others. I also looked at the parts they use for these bikes to mid range quality bikes, like Aventon. If you take a look at the componentry, the bike makers use to build these electric bikes you will find that the bikes at this store are way overpriced. The next thing that you should consider is the service after the sale. Many of these companies are fly by night companies that are selling these bikes. There are great bikes based on their components that are significantly less expensive. One that comes to mind is Jamison. The problem with this alternative is that you have to assemble it yourself and it is mailed to you. But if you are handy and can assemble a bike then something like this would be a great alternative. In the case for this particular bike, you would have to assemble the front wheel to the rest of the bike that comes preassembled. Trek electrics are notoriously high priced for what you get in terms of components. Also the other bikes at the shop are overpriced based upon what is used to build them. After checking out the stores near my zip code I picked the Aventon Level 2. I ride it on the Legacy Trail most every day. The wind is no longer a factor while riding it there. If you ride the trail you know what I mean. Good luck on your search for a new Electric Bike.

Refused to even look at my Trek bike after an accident because I had motorized it. The issues involved had nothing to do with the motor or battery (I needed a replacement derailleur and a spoke) and some tune-up. Bad attitude with no concern for this potential customer.

My Granddaughter was fitted for a trek bike. They did an excellent job. My son noticed that Trek was having a sale on March 1st and asked if this bike would be on sale. They said no and this was the end of February. Well the bike did go on sale for $140. Less . They refused to refund the money even though they spent over $1000. They did offer $140. Credit on future services. This is terrible customer service and I would be cautious if I ever had trouble with a bike purchased from them, standing behind it. There shouldn't be an argument, do the right thing.

I took my old Specialized Hard Rock in for some new shifter cables. It was done the next day, very reasonable cost, excellent work. I would recommend doing business there. Michigan Man

I was visiting Sarasota for a few days, and wanted to explore the Legacy trail. Stumbled upon Sarasota Cycles, and was pleasantly surprised. For $40 a day, they got me a Trek Emonda in great condition, both cosmetically and physically. Def recommend the place.

I've purchased three Trek bikes from Sarasota Cycle and relied on them for maintenance for 15ish years. Never a problem. Always honest and fair. Dave, the owner, is a class gentleman. He's on site most days working in the service area. Most of his staff have been with him for years. Jason in the service area for example 20 years. Mike up front I'm guessing about the same.. Always a good sign. Trek bikes of course a quality brand. You may also find bikes he has taken in trade or on consignment. As you'd expect a full line of accessories. I'm sure I've rated before but a recent experience which Dave went beyond normal expectation to assist me has me feeling very appreciative -- again. Thank you Dave. And staff.
