Depeche Mode

Memento mori world tour 2024, olympic hall.

Depeche Mode

Please note the following  instructions from the organiser.

Only in June 2023, they thrilled their audience in a completely sold-out Olympic Stadium. A brilliant open air under the tent roof, where Martin Gore and Dave Gahan once again delivered a thrilling live performance. Only nine months after their grandiose show, Depeche Mode are now coming back to the Olympic Park - then once again for an indoor performance in the Olympic Hall on 7 March 2024.

For the "Chicago Tribune" they are "one of the most influential and visionary groups in pop music", the London "Guardian" called Dave Gahan a "theatrical marvel". And the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" found after their Munich Open Air in June 2023 that the band had "freed human existence from its heaviness with their magnificent performance".

Even more than four decades after their formation, the duo Gahan and Gore and their comrades-in-arms proved on the stadium stage that they have lost none of their fascination over the past four decades. With old classics like "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy The Silence" as well as new songs from their latest album "Memento Mori" like "The Cosmos is Mine" or "Ghosts Again", the band delivered a gripping live performance. Now fans can look forward to another performance by the legendary band, on 7 March 2024 Depeche Mode will play the Olympic Hall for the first time since 2006 after their four open airs in 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2023. More than 36 years after their very first concert at the same venue in October 1987, the band will thus be coming to the Olympic Park for the 13th time. Just can't get enough.

Depeche Mode Winding Down Euro Tour

Depeche Mode have just four more dates left on the 2023 European leg of their tour which has found them performing to huge crowds in arenas and stadiums.

This is the Memento Mori World Tour to support the group's 15th studio album and their first without beloved keyboard player Andy Fletcher who died last year at 60.

tour depeche mode 2023 europa

Fletch, along with Martin Gore and Vince Clarke, created a band in 1980 called Composition of Sound. When singer Dave Gahan was asked to join them, he convinced them to change the name to that of a French magazine he'd seen called  Dépêche-mode.

Decades later and over 100 million records sold, Gore and Gahan are continuing to carry the banner -- almost effortlessly -- around the globe.

While Taylor Swift is getting recognized for rejuvenating the cities she visits on her Eras Tour, an upcoming Depeche Mode show in Estonia has filled up most of the hotels despite the fact the room rates were doubled in anticipation of the high demand. Hoteliers are claiming visitors are traveling in from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and France, among others.

The band has rarely veered off the tour's set, but when they do, often it's a last minute change.

tour depeche mode 2023 europa

For example on Wednesday's show, "Strangelove" doesn't appear on the original setlists taped to the stage. It replaced one of the new songs, "Soul With Me."

A few weeks ago in Zagreb when Martin was finished singing "Strangelove," he was greeted with a cake and a dozen black balloons to celebrate his 62nd birthday.

And yes, " Happy Birthday " was sung.

Today the band releases the next in their series of box sets containing singles and rarities. 2009's Sound of the Universe gets the treatment.

And just a couple of weeks ago, Gahane's version of the Gun Club's "Mother of Earth" came out. This is part of a forthcoming edition of Jeffrey Lee Pierce songs reimagined by the likes of Debbie Harry, Nick Cave, The Coathangers, Lydia Lunch and many others .

Depeche Mode wraps up the 2023 portion of their European leg on August 11. In late September they begin Leg 3: North America, with a trio of shows in Mexico City. The tour ends in December with the rare occurrence of two shows at the Forum in Inglewood followed by two at the Crypto (formerly known as Staples Center) in downtown LA.

Tickets are available at the band's website .

They also debuted ‘Speak To Me’ and ‘Soul With Me’ from the record, and played their recent single ‘Ghosts Again’ .

Elsewhere, Depeche Mode dedicated a live rendition of their 1990 single ‘World In My Eyes’ to their late bandmate Andy Fletcher. Black-and-white images of the musician – who died last May aged 60 – appeared on the big screens.

The final portion of the gig included outings for the classic songs ‘Enjoy The Silence’, ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘Personal Jesus’, the latter of which served as the encore closer, per Setlist.FM .

‘Sister Of Night’ made its first non-acoustic appearance in the set since 2009 (first time with Gahan on vocals), with ‘A Question Of Lust’ (Gore on vocals) returning as a full band version for the first time since 2013 (a stripped-back rendition was performed in 2017).

Later, Gahan and Gore duetted on ‘Waiting For The Night’, which hadn’t been played since 2009.
