How to Dress For Beyoncé's Inevitable "Cowboy Carter" Tour

beyonce tour dress code

Ever since Beyoncé's critically acclaimed "Cowboy Carter" album debuted earlier this spring, social media has been abuzz about Queen Bey's potential return to the stage — even fresh off the heels of her "Renaissance" World Tour (because you can never have too much Beyoncé).

Of course with any Beyoncé concert, attendees are guaranteed a couple things: an otherworldly performance filled with stadium-shaking vocals, high-energy dance routines, and an electric setlist of back-to-back hits that only one of the world's greatest entertainers could nail nightly. While Beyoncé's concert outfits are always a topic of conversation, the visuals for her "Cowboy Carter" album have provided a whole new category of style inspiration for BeyHive members looking to mirror the star's inimitable aesthetic.

Stylistically, fans' "Cowboy Carter" outfits are bound to pay homage to the star's most beloved eras — think lots of glitzy, latex bodysuit looks á la "Renaissance" mixed with "I Am... Sasha Fierce"-inspired metallics and "Cowboy Carter"-esque country vibes. Much like her previous tours, we predict a sea of rhinestone-embellished ensembles teamed with cowgirl hats and statement pieces that play into the superstar's looks both on and off the red carpet — like over-the-knee boots , curve-defining dresses, denim jumpers, and bold jewelry.

Whether you want to channel the magic of a Beyoncé concert or immerse yourself in it for the first time, we've rounded up the best concert outfit ideas that are all inspired by the star herself — and perfect to wear to any upcoming stops on her "Cowboy Carter" tour.

From Levi's jeans and crystal Betsey Johnson boots to rhinestone-tassel cowgirl hats, these are looks you'll be excited to dance and scream-sing in all night long. Keep reading to shop our picks for the best Beyoncé-inspired outfits, with selects from Amazon, Revolve, Free People, and more.

Beyoncé Concert Outfits

Beyoncé Concert Outfits

Tassel Earrings ($10)

They say everything's bigger in Texas and these tassel earrings are larger than life. Waterfall rhinestones dangle off of a star-shaped centerpiece that's bound to add a little glitz to any outfit. We love that the accessory mirrors the look of the jewels Beyoncé sports in her "Cowboy Carter" visuals.

Main Image

Forever 21 Rhinestone Fringe Cowboy Hat ($35)

It's not custom couture, but you'll still feel like a country superstar rocking this fringe cowgirl hat at Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" tour. The rhinestone trim completes the accessory with a little extra sparkle that's designed to move with you as you're dancing and shaking your hips to Queen Bey's biggest country ballads — like "Spaghettii" or "Ya Ya."

Main Image

Feisedy Designer Sunglasses ($17, originally $21)

The lights never seem too bright for Queen Bey, but if you're looking for a Beyoncé-inspired accessory that'll give your concert outfit a little extra sass (and your eyes a little break from the major stage lights), you can't go wrong with these cat eye-like sunnies from Amazon.

Main Image

Deep V-Neck Sleeveless Corset Top ($30)

Corsets already feel synonymous with most of Beyoncé's album aesthetics, but this particular style features a cool black trim that just screams quintessential cowgirl. It's also made from a denim knit fabric that would pair beautifully with high-waisted denim pants — or Levi's jeans (IYKYK).

Main Image

Cider Diamond Tassels Ripped Denim Shorts ($28)

You can live out all of your cowgirl dreams with these eye-catching denim shorts, which feature diamond tassels along the pockets and a distressed hemline that'll complete any concert outfit with a leggier look.

Main Image

Topacc Western Metal Concho Belt ($19)

If you're shopping out the perfect concert outfit on a budget, you can still achieve Beyoncé levels of glam on the cheap. Case in point: this jewel-encrusted chain belt, which would layer beautifully over a pair of denim shorts or jeans.

Main Image

Free People Fringe Out Vegan Suede Jacket ($168)

While Beyoncé hasn't unveiled her "Cowboy Carter" concert outfits just yet, we have a feeling she'll lean heavily into the country aesthetic — with lots of denim, fringe, and silver accessories to match. This oversize suede jacket features a cool fringe lining along the sleeves that's peak Western core. You'll want to wear it on repeat this summer, even long after the show ends.

Main Image

Shiny Metallic Teddy Bodysuit ($46)

It simply wouldn't be a Beyoncé concert without a sparkly silver bodysuit worked somewhere into her tour outfit rotation. On the "Renaissance" Tour, Queen Bey opted for a sparkly red Off-White bodysuit with an oversize top hat to match. For a similar look (with a cowgirl twist), we recommend pairing this thong bodysuit from Amazon with a pair of dark-wash denim for a sultry ensemble that'll match your high-level energy come showtime.

Main Image

Levi's 501 Original Chaps ($108)

Beyoncé makes her love for Levi's jeans well known all throughout her "Cowboy Carter" record, and this pair offers a little extra country twang with its colorblock design that mirrors the look of traditional chaps.

Main Image

Betsey Johnson Dalas Rhinestones Cowgirl Boots ($249)

As far as Beyoncé outfit ideas go, you can never go wrong with working a pair of rhinestone-embellished cowgirl boots into the mix, and this calf-high style from Betsey Johnson is all the rage this season. The boots blend the aesthetics of the "Cowboy Carter" album with the "Renaissance" album and pay homage to the singer's Texas roots with a cool futuristic flair.

Main Image

Windsor Wild At Heart Long Fringe Skirt ($30)

The moment "Texas Hold 'Em" starts playing, expect to see us swaying around the venue like it's a real-life boogie — and in this fringe maxi, no less. The lengthy fringe is primed for dancing and you can pair it with knee-high cowgirl boots for a more robust look.

Main Image

Kelsey Randall x Revolve Vena Vest ($468)

Add a little ritz and glitz to your concert attire with this fringe vest from Revolve. We'd pair the vest with a cropped white tank and denim mini skirt to match. Don't worry about over-accessorizing with jewelry or statement earrings — the crystal embellishments speak for themselves.

Main Image

Silence + Noise Devon Crescent Bag ($39, originally $49)

Throw this studded crescent bag over your shoulder and get ready for the real-life hoedown that the "Cowboy Carter" tour is bound to become. The lightweight bag boasts a saddle-inspired design that'll look cute with any outfit, plus it boasts ample interior space so you can carry your phone, keys, and emergency lipstick with ease.

Beyoncé ‘Renaissance’: What the fans wore to London’s opening show

Photographs by Toby Hancock, CNN Story by Leah Dolan, CNN May 30, 2023

Beyoncé has officially landed in London. Last night, the British capital welcomed the pop superstar for the much anticipated “Renaissance” world tour.

We expected an Afrofuturist disco-fueled fantasy, and on the first night of her weeklong residency at north London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (one of the city’s largest stadiums with a capacity of over 60,000) fans showed out in mirror ball cowboy hats, crystal-encrusted corsets and space-age catsuits.

Since its release in 2022, the quadruple Grammy award-winning record has had far-reaching cultural impact, including in fashion. With revered album art that saw Beyoncé in Schiaparelli couture, Alaïa, Mugler and Gucci, as well as her headline- generating stage costumes from the likes of Loewe and Balmain, it’s no wonder fans are taking their concert looks seriously.

Everything you need to know about Beyoncé's Renaissance tour film: dress code, tickets and where to watch

Crowds screaming, Beyoncé stretching with her daughter Blue Ivy backstage, stadiums filling up with fans, and dancers rolling their shoulders and fixing their ear pieces to the introduction of her track Cozy. These scenes are just a glimpse of what fans can look forward to in Beyoncé's upcoming concert film , Renaissance, which will premiere worldwide on December 1.

The film, which has already made millions in presale tickets, will take audiences behind the scenes of her all-stadium world tour, Renaissance, which came to a close in early October. It will bring together backstage footage – such as videos of Bey with her children – with clips of the star performing on stage, as well as sequences of her rehearsing and preparing for the five month long tour.

“When I am performing, I am nothing but free,” says Beyoncé in the film's trailer. “The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free. And no one is judged. Start over, start fresh. Create the new. That’s what the Renaissance is about."

With the LA premiere having taken place over the weekend, and the London premiere occuring on Thursday, here is everything to know about her new film, Renaissance.

What is Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé?

beyonce tour dress code

Renaissance is Beyoncé's upcoming concert film of her record-breaking, sell-out world tour, Renaissance, which started in Stockholm in May and concluded in Kansas on October 1.

Directed by and starring the legendary pop musician, the film will partly follow Bey as she prepares for the tour, but mostly, it will recreate the spectacle of the show itself, providing audiences with a 3D experience of the nearly three hours set. It'll bring together behind-the-scenes footage with videos of the crowd, and sequences of Beyoncé performing.

When is it being released?

The film is being released on December 1, which some fans have noted coincides with World AIDS Day. Beyoncé's latest album is a love letter to the ballroom communities who created the voguing sounds that now play a major role in a huge amount of modern dance music. During the Renaissance tour some of the world's most-famous ballroom dancers, such as Honey Balenciaga, were given the stage to perform during the costume changes. AIDS devastated the Eighties New York LGBTQ+ communities who created modern voguing.

In addition, Beyoncé's "Uncle" Johnny, who she referenced in an open letter introducing her Renaissance album, died of HIV.

"A big thank you to my Uncle Jonny. He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album," said Beyoncé in the note. "Thank you to all of the pioneers who originate culture, to all of the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This is a celebration for you."

The film had its US premiere in LA on November 25, and will have its London premiere on November 30.

Where is it being released?

beyonce tour dress code

In the US, Renaissance will be released at AMC Theatres, the same cinema chain that recently screened Taylor Swift 's ERAs Tour concert film. Tickets are already on sale via the AMC website, and are going for $22 (around £18) plus tax.

In the UK, Renaissance will be screened across the country, including at Vue and Odeon cinemas. Tickets are on sale now, costing from around £16.99 depending on the cinema.

Sources told Deadline that the first day of the US tickets presale for the film was estimated to have made between $6 million and $7 million. Films that drummed up equivalent first day pre-sale figures included Avatar: The Way of Water ($5.5M) and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 ($6M) – aka some of the year's biggest films.

What is the dress code?

Although Beyoncé is very much about people wearing exactly what they want – both to feel good and express themselves – there is an informal dress code for the film, for those who want to rise to the occasion: for the US premiere, it's Cozy Opulence.

We're imagining Faux Fur coats with sparkling cowboy hats and silk pyjamas with knee-high leather boots. But Cozy Opulence can also be taken more lightly: the guideline is, thankfully, wide enough to include cable knit jumpers, UGG boots, cashmere sets, and wool blankets, all of which are undeniably opulent while being properly cosy.

Here in the UK, she's requested “formal opulence" at the premiere – glittery tuxedos at the ready, then.

What has Queen Bey said about Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé?

True to form, Beyoncé has said very little about Renaissance. In October she shared a poster introducing her upcoming film on Instagram. Earlier in the month she had also shared a clip of the film's trailer with the comment, "Be careful what you ask for, 'cause I just might comply."

Thousands of fans concluded that Beyoncé's comment was making reference to her major lack of Renaissance visuals. None of the songs from her July 2022 album have been given music videos – although she did release several "visualisers" for single Break My Soul and its Madonna remix – and fans have been demanding for something extra to feast their eyes on.

In July, during one of her concerts, she dropped a major hint: "You are the visual, baby," she told the crowd. It turns out she was speaking literally: the fans at the concert have been recorded, and turned into the film, which are in turn the visuals of Renaissance. OK, Bey.

Is there a trailer?

Yes: there are three. The first two-minute trailer shows both sides of the tour, and both sides of Beyoncé: there are private moments where the singer is warming up with her dancers and cuddling her children, and then she is on the move, reflecting what is about to happen, and stunning crowds with her all guns blazing performances. We've popped it just above.

The second, which was released several weeks ago, and is much more heavily focused on the show itself. It shows lights flashing, Beyoncé performing, crowds cheering, her dancers voguing and some of the tour's giant set pieces. "In this world that is very male-dominated, I've had to be really tough to balance motherhood... and being on the stage, it just reminds me of who I really am," says Beyoncé over the clips of her blockbuster show. Later she says the now-infamous line: "You are the visual, baby."

The third trailer, which we’ve popped at the top of the page, was released on Thursday and is a combination of the two previous trailers: we see Beyoncé working with her team, performing, and reflecting on her hopes and dreams for both the show, and future generations.

Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé will premiere on December 1

Beyoncé Unlocks New Level of Virgo With Monthlong Dress Code for Fans

Beyonc Unlocks New Level of Virgo With Monthlong Dress Code for Fans

Beyoncé ’s birthday is coming up, but do not under any circumstances think that as she turns 42 that she’s entering her golden years.

Please. They’re her silver years.

In an Instagram story posted Wednesday morning, Queen Bey had a dress code request for fans heading to her Renaissance Tour: Wear silver.

Ahead of her Sept. 4 birthday, Beyoncé shared her vision of how fans could make her birthday wish come true.

“Virgo season is upon us,” her post began. “This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23-9.22!”

It’s a whole vision. “We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night,” she continued. “Everybody mirroring each other’s joy. Virgo season together in the house of chrome.”

Helpfully, she included an image of a disco-mirrored cowboy hat emblazoned with the Virgo symbol, should concertgoers be in need of some guidance. Bey has worn a number of silver and mirrored ensembles in her shows so far, and the idea of a multitude of teeny-tiny Beyoncés, reflected back a million-zillion times over in all those little disco tiles is both overwhelming and delightful, all at the same time. As it turns out, the real Beyoncé was the tiny Beyoncés we wore all over our bodies along the way, you know?

Forget hoarding pony beads to prep friendship bracelets for Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour—it’s time to get on the self-adhesive disco ball tiles train. Choo choo! All aboard, by order of her royal Renaissanceness, Beyoncé!

Throughout the Renaissance era, Bey has dressed in an excessively opulent fashion, channeling iconic divas like Grace Jones, Bianca Jagger and Donna Summer. Relying on fashion houses such as Schiaparelli and Balmain (collaborating on the latter for an exclusive Renaissance collection), the star’s recent looks reflect the central themes of the album: downright joy with an unapologetic ode to extravagance.

beyonce in loewe at the renaissance world tour

Though Renaissance showcases the haute couture side of Beyoncé, it’s worth noting just how much her style has evolved from the beginning of her career nearly three decades go. At first, Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland were famously styled by Bey’s mother, Tina Lawson. They showcased peak Y2K vibes with low-rise jeans, a ridiculous amount of crystals and Southern hip-hop edge. Once solo in 2003, Beyoncé delivered one unforgettable look after the next—from her “Crazy in Love” denim shorts to that epic 2011 MTV VMAs baby reveal and 2018’s custom Balmain, HCBU-inspired Coachella look.

And while most of us can’t hit up Schiaparelli for a custom look for the Renaissance concert this summer, the Beyhive can honor Bey’s style in a more affordable way. Below, shop 10 complete looks that reference Beyoncé’s past and present style. Just remember: Unique! That’s what you are.

Onstage, Bey has worn everything from a gold Loewe catsuit adorned with crystals and a futuristic Balmain bodysuit to a campy Mugler bee costume — complete with oversized antennae and a buggy head mask to match.

But on August 22, she flipped the script and asked her fans for a birthday present.

"My birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 - 9.22," a story post on Beyoncé's Instagram read. "We'll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night."

With a new — and last-minute — outfit assignment , some fans started to scramble and shared their reactions to the news on TikTok. And it seems almost everyone was trying to stay on the theme — even celebrities like Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Megan Markle , Kelly Rowland , and Gabrielle Union.

Justyn, a makeup beauty influencer who shared the process of building his outfit from scratch on his TikTok account Justyngee, was blindsided by the news. The outfit he made, which included a custom gold chest plate, took about seven hours to design, spray paint, and embellish over four days, Justyn told Insider.

And then Beyoncé made her announcement.

"I love my girl and I would have loved to have worn silver but why couldn't this announcement come two weeks earlier?" Justyn said on TikTok following the announcement. "Because Bey I'm talking to you right now: The outfit has been planned."

@justyngee Beyhive we have an emergency! Do I listen to the Queen or wear my gold fit??? 😫 #beyonce #renaissancetouroutfit #renaissancetour #beyoncesilver ♬ PURE/HONEY - Beyoncé

Justyn, who said he would be attending Beyoncé's September 4 birthday show in LA, told Insider he was debating whether or not to comply with the silver edict. He did have a silver outfit on standby, but it was not as skillfully crafted as his gold ensemble.

He said he doesn't think Beyoncé would mind him stunning in gold.

"As a queer person it's great to see a big pop sensation, especially someone like Beyoncé, just spotlight her community and our community," Justyn, 25, said. "And I'm pretty much just going for the vibes and for a good time. Like, there's no pressure. I purely created the outfit as a source of joy for myself."

Paola, a travel blogger who shares her journeys on her account paolatravell, also showcased her silver fit on TikTok for Beyoncé's LA shows. She told Insider that after going to multiple shows all over Europe, she decided she had to see Queen Bey in person on September 4.

"I'm also a Virgo… I did this just as a birthday gift to me," Paola said.

Paola told Insider that as a super fan of Bey, she wanted to do something "really classy" for her birthday weekend shows using white and gold and channeling hits on the Renaissance album like "Alien Superstar" and "Church Girl."

"And then one week before everything, she decided to request the silver outfit. My first reaction was like 'Oh my god, I want to cry' because my outfit was already done."

Paola said, however, that she wanted to comply with the silver request because to her, it felt like a big sister inviting her to a themed party. So she dedicated a week before the show putting together her silver outfits by hand.

@paolatravell Queen b asked for silver I hope this outfit is okay pt. 5 : I tried to recreate a mix between the ( Grammy + the richard quinn ) hat 🎩 los angeles im coming angeles #renaissanceworldtour #renaissancetour #beyonce #beyoncebirthday #beyoncerenaissance #beyoncetour #paolatravell #losangeles #inglewood #sofistadium #outfit #beyhive ♬ DJHunnybee Church Girl x Joy Unspeakable - Hunny Bee 😈

"It wasn't easy," Paola said. "I didn't sleep for one week. It was a great challenge."

But she said she would definitely do it again — even if Beyoncé requested it a day before.

"It's a new personal passion that started because I did that."

Another fan who decided to take on the silver theme is Christina Barras, 30. She told Insider she grew up loving Beyoncé so much that she played a role in inspiring Barras' previous dancing career.

Because Barras bought her tickets much later than most, she told Insider she didn't feel blindsided by the announcement and felt like the theme helped give her a better sense of direction in her outfit choice.

"I think it's fun because it feels like we're all just going to like a themed party together," Barras told Insider.

The Los Angeles-based makeup artist shared her shopping experience on TikTok at Santee Alley, a fashion district in LA. Barras said she found part of her silver outfit there and ended up bonding with the store owners over Beyoncé.

@christinabarras Renaissance shopping success! 🐝✨ #renaissancetour #renaissanceoutfit #santeealley #beyonce ♬ original sound - Christinabarras

"We figured that'd be the perfect place to go for Renaissance shopping, and sure enough, they had everything silver pushed to the front," Barras said. "And some stores even had Beyoncé playing. This woman working that day was just super hyped up and was matching our energy, and we just had a blast there. It made picking out outfits that much more fun because we were in the headspace of just, like, high energy."

As for why Beyoncé asked her fans to wear silver, the fans Insider spoke to had their own theories.

"I just think it's like this whole era is just about like having fun and releasing all the negativity. I think with this dress code for the audience, it brings people together in a way, and it creates more of that like community aspect where we're all just in this together, having fun, living our lives," Barras told Insider.

Justyn pointed out the parallels between the silver statement pieces and queer nightlife, as well as an homage to her Uncle Jonny, a gay relative who died from AIDS-related complications and was an important figure in Beyoncé's life.

"I feel like the silver is a strong call back to queer nightlife, like Studio 54. And I think she was trying to, because she has said multiple times at this tour is kind of like a love letter to the LGBT community and her Uncle Jonny, wanted to make a strong call back to that and kind of bring some sort of camaraderie with everyone."

Representatives for Beyoncé did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Beyonce fans react to dress code

Phoenix is the first show with a dress code. Other stops that fall in Virgo season include Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seattle and Dallas.

Fan reaction was as mixed as you'd imagine, from unwavering support (of course) to wondering why she didn't mention this before they got their look together.

One X (formerly Twitter) user, Oludara Adeeyo, playfully scolded the queen, invoking her full name before writing, "Not you implementing a silver dress code when I bought my flamboyant red top 6 months ago. Ma'am. Sis. You gon enjoy this outfit I planned for months."

Another X user, Big Face Britt, wrote "Me and Beyonce Giselle Knowles about to have an issue because why you wait till I planned my whole outfit to drop this dress code."

Celebrities are pretty image conscious when it comes to dressing, and it’s not often that they listen when someone institutes a dress code (possibly only for events like the Met Gala, and even then, not everyone follows theme). Over the past few nights, SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles turned into a human disco ball as A-listers descended in their metallic best to take in a performance from the Queen B. From the Kardashians (who came out in full force) in their shimmering looks to Tracee Ellis Ross in a dynamic Rabanne mini, everyone was dressed for a night of dancing and celebrating Beyoncé’s birthday, and below we’re breaking down what they wore.

Welcome to Beyoncé’s House of Chrome.

With plenty of “Renaissance” tour stops remaining , the Grammy winner recently shared a special dress code request with fans ahead of her b-day.

To that end, Beyoncé herself has been dazzling showgoers with one metallic fashion moment after the next during recent performances, hitting the stage in custom silver styles from Gucci, Jacquemus, Loewe and more.

Meghan Markle Followed Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour Dress Code. Prince Harry…Not So Much

By Emily Tannenbaum

Prince Harry Meghan Markle Beyonc JayZ

Beyoncé asked fans to wear silver for the final leg of her Renaissance World Tour and Meghan Markle delivered.

The 42-year-old Suits star turned royal was spotted paying tribute to Queen Bey at SoFi Stadium on September 1, along with her mother, Doria Ragland , and her husband, Prince Harry . In a fan photo circulating online, the Duchess of Sussex can be seen dancing to Beyoncé in a white tank top and sparkling silver skirt while her mother appears to record the singer's performance while wearing a silver halter top.

They weren't kidding when they said "waterproof."

Beyoncé Wore This Setting Spray at Her Rainy 'Renaissance' Show and Her Makeup Didn't Budge

Though disco silver has been the unofficial dress code of the Renaissance World Tour since the first concert in May, Beyoncé made it all but mandatory ahead of her 43rd birthday on September 4. “Virgo season is upon us,” Bey recently wrote in an Instagram Stories post. “This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 - 9.22!”

While Markle and her mother clearly got the message, Prince Harry doesn't seem to have seen Beyoncé's story. The 38-year-old prince was photographed by the fan in a gray shirt and blazer, which he wore with white pants. Gray is just the less sparkly version of silver, right? You can judge for yourself here .

Understandable.

Like almost everyone else with ears, Meghan Markle has been a fan of Beyoncé for years— Idris Elba made sure to play her music at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding in 2018—and the admiration is mutual. In 2019, Beyoncé and Jay-Z recorded their BRIT Award acceptance speech for best international group in front of a portrait of Markle. That February, Bey shared a photo from the moment on Instagram to pay tribute to “Melanated Monas” during Black History Month and congratulate the duchess on her first pregnancy.

Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Album Received The Ultimate Tribute From The NY Liberty’s Mascot Ellie The Elephant

Flisadam Pointer

Athletes around the world have massive fan bases. Similar to the players, there are several beloved sports team mascots with followings of their own. The New York Liberty’s Ellie The Elephant has become the WNBA’s latest breakout star.

Yesterday (June 22), Big Ellie’s Halftime performance showcased that and more. The show was dedicated to Pride Month , and also paid tribute Beyoncé . The ever so fabulous mascot blended a medley of the “ Texas Hold ‘Em ” singer’s record-setting , Grammy Award-winning album, Renaissance .

It was clear Ellie received the silver dress code notice , as the sassy elephant was rolled onto center court dressed in a mockup of Beyoncé’s tour look. With her own Renaissance World Tour dancers , Ellie slayed the mashup of “Move” featuring Grace Jones and Nina Sky’s “Move Ya Body” with hints of “Formation.”

Beyoncé Honors Juneteenth by Wearing All Black Designers at Her Concert — Including Her Own Ivy Park Creation

“I’m proud to be among the very talented Black designers featured in last night’s show to celebrate Juneteenth,” the star wrote on Instagram

beyonce tour dress code

Beyoncé honored Juneteenth on her Renaissance World Tour.

The "Break My Soul" singer, 41, enlisted the help of exclusively Black designers to dress her at her Amsterdam show the day before the holiday, which marks the end of slavery in the United States.

“In honor of Juneteenth, everything I wore for RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR tonight was created exclusively by Black designers,” the star wrote on Instagram following her second of two back-to-back shows in the Netherlands capital city.

In the post, the Renaissance songstress shared photos of herself in a red, crystal-embroidered dress designed by Maximilian Davis , creative director of Ferragamo. Beyoncé posted another Davis-designed look from the June 18 show — a slinky metallic minidress paired with matching chrome accessories: thigh-high boots, gloves, sunnies and a wide-brimmed hat.

The star spammed her Instagram with several more posts highlighting her Amsterdam ‘fits, including a futuristic, armor-like bodysuit and a full-body snakeskin ensemble designed by Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing .

The designer thanked Beyoncé in a heartfelt Instagram post on Juneteenth, writing, “In the industry where we have to all fight, I want to thank you [for your] support last night all the black designers that had created their own space in this tough industry. This was THE CELEBRATION.”

Rousteing continued, “The Renaissance world tour is about freedom, expression, and LOVE. Your support, your vision and your strength to not create an evolution but making a REVOLUTION, will and is, part of the History. Thank you for reminding us that fights are not over and let’s keep pushing for a better world for the next generations.”

The “Love on Top” singer also shared a carousel on Instagram highlighting one of her own Ivy Park creations, a neon pink, sparkly, disco-inspired number she also wore at the Amsterdam show.

“I started designing this collection over a year ago,” she wrote in the caption. “I was so engulfed in all things RENAISSANCE and was inspired by Studio 54, Bob Mackie and the disco era.”

The Lemonade songstress continued, “I wanted to do a modern twist using the signature IVY PARK neon and bring disco to the beach in this swim collection. I’m so happy to share this with you and even more proud to launch it for the first time on the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR.”

“I’m proud to be among the very talented Black designers featured in last night’s show to celebrate Juneteenth,” she finished.

Queen Bey also wore pieces by Feben, Ibrahim Kamara for Off-White and LaQuan Smith.

Beyoncé brought Juneteenth to her fashion-forward Renaissance tour .

The acclaimed singer-songwriter, who is performing on a world tour in support of her seventh album “Renaissance,” used her Sunday concert in Amsterdam to pay tribute to the Black history holiday Juneteenth . Known as America's Second Independence Day, Juneteenth is a federally recognized observance that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

To mark the holiday, Beyoncé wore a series of glamorous ensembles entirely made by Black designers for the Amsterdam concert, including a pair of outfits created by Ferragamo creative director Maximilian Davis.

“In honor of Juneteenth, everything I wore for Renaissance World Tour tonight was created exclusively by Black designers,” the singer wrote on Instagram on Sunday .

Davis dressed the singer in a striking red, bead- and crystal-embroidered dress , as well as a silver lamé jersey draped mini dress and matching thigh-high boots.

“It was an honor to create (these) looks for Beyoncé and be a part of her creative process,” Davis said in a statement. “I wanted to design pieces that felt like they inhabited her spirit and style.”

Beyoncé rocks ‘robo couture’ with futuristic Balmain bodysuit

Beyoncé gave fans a hearty dose of “robo couture,” hitting the stage in a futuristic, silver-armored bodysuit designed by Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing. The designer and Beyoncé previously collaborated on a 16-piece Renaissance Couture line corresponding to the 16 tracks included on her latest album.

Rousteing gushed over the final look and Beyoncé’s Juneteenth tribute in an Instagram post Monday.

“This tour is a revolution. Thank you for supporting us and bringing all the creatives through your beautiful journey around the world,” Rousteing wrote . “Your vision is beyond. I love you.”

The “Cuff It” singer, whose fanbase has been affectionately named the Beyhive, channeled her inner queen bee in a second custom-made Balmain bodysuit . The suit, also designed by Rousteing, featured alternating patches of yellow and black and was topped off with a matching, saucer-shaped hat.

“ This was the celebration, ” Rousteing wrote in a follow-up post Monday. “It has been tough, it has been hard, and change would never happen without you pushing since day one to make a better future where we can all express our creativity.”

Beyoncé stuns in ‘shattered glass’ catsuit by LaQuan Smith

Beyoncé kept the fashion party going during her Renaissance show, gracing the stage in a metallic “shattered glass” catsuit made by designer LaQuan Smith. The singer finished the look with a glittering silver coat inspired by Rousteing's Balmain fall-winter collection, which she wore while riding a disco-mirrored horse statue onstage.

“ You look so stunning! ” Smith commented on Beyoncé’s Instagram post Monday. “I’m so happy the jumpsuit came to life in the most epic way. What an honor to have you wear my design.”

Beyoncé gives first look at new Ivy Park collection with disco-inspired beach dress

Beyoncé got in on the Black sartorial magic herself during her Juneteenth tribute, unveiling a shimmery, bubble gum pink halter dress from an upcoming swim collection by her clothing line Ivy Park .

“I started designing this collection over a year ago. I was so engulfed in all things ‘Renaissance’ and was inspired by Studio 54, Bob Mackie and the disco era,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram Monday. “I wanted to do a modern twist using the signature Ivy Park neon and bring disco to the beach in this swim collection.”

The added significance of debuting the Ivy Park look in honor of Juneteenth was also a point of pride for the singer.

“I’m proud to be among the very talented Black designers featured in last night’s show to celebrate Juneteenth,” she wrote.

  • The British royal family is flocking to Ascot for the annual horse-racing competition.
  • Royal Ascot is a spectacle, not just for the racing but for the fashion display.
  • King Charles and Queen Camilla subtly coordinated elegant looks, while Prince William opted for a dapper ensemble.

For the British elite, Royal Ascot is the pinnacle of the social calendar in the summer.

The annual five-day horse-racing event, which started on Tuesday this year and is wrapping up on Saturday, is nothing short of a spectacle — not just for the competition itself but for the luxurious and sometimes wild spectator fashion.

The dress code depends on the type of enclosure Royal Ascot-goers have access to, but a rule of thumb is the more exclusive the area, the more elaborate the outfits are.

Members of the royal family — who have been attending Royal Ascot since its founding in 1711 — are typically spotted in the royal enclosure, where men sport morning suits, and women accessorize elegant summer dresses with striking fascinators and hats.

Royals like Prince William, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice have been spotted dressed to the nines at Royal Ascot 2024. Here are all the outfits they wore.

<p>Charles, 75, wore a light-gray morning suit layered over a pale-yellow waistcoat and a striped collared shirt topped off with a black top hat. Princess Charlotte Nailed Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Dress Code in a Fearless -Coded Sequin Dress

Prince William celebrated his 42nd birthday by bringing Princess Charlotte and Prince George to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

While the Wales family were not spotted in the VIP tent alongside Jason and Kylie Kelce , The Sunday Times' royal editor reported that the royal trio were among 90,000 Swifties at Wembley Stadium on June 21. Those rumors were quickly confirmed with fan-recorded video of Prince William dancing to “Shake It Off.”

And while Taylor Swift doesn't always have time to link up with famous fans before or after the show ( just ask Travis Kelce ), she made an exception for the Wales family. On June 22, Swift and the Prince of Wales shared photographic evidence of the meetup on Instagram.

“Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start 🇬🇧🇺🇸🤝,” Swift captioned a selfie with William, George, Charlotte, and Kelce while dressed in the black sequins pinstripe blazer she wears to perform “The Man.”

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales shared the moment from another angle, posting a photo of Swift taking another selfie with her royal fans without the NFL player. “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening,” read the caption . Do you think Kelce got cut from the snap because he was wearing a Team USA hat?

Supporters of the royal family were struck by how joyful all three royals appeared in the snaps, especially nine-year-old Charlotte, who was dressed in a Fearless -coded sequins dress with a cute braided hairstyle. “Charlotte is a real Swiftie she even got the dress code 😭,” one user commented , while another wrote , “This is actually the cutest picture ever. Core memory for Charlotte right there 😍.”

Others pointed out that her brother and father looked just as happy to be there, with one fan joking that Prince William is the “ real Swiftie ,” and just brought his two eldest children “as a cover up!” Meanwhile, one user wrote , “Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte are the Swifties we didn’t know we needed, and I am here for it! Just look at their collective unbridled JOY!”

Joy seemed to be the theme for Prince William's birthday. Just hours before the concert, the Wales' official Instagram page shared the latest family portrait captured by Kate Middleton . In the photo, which appeared to be taken on the same day as the Father's Day portrait shared earlier this month, William holds hand with their three children as they take a big jump on a sandy beach.

“Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much,” read the caption , which was signed by the Princess of Wales with a “Cx.”

Clearly, they found the perfect way to celebrate on the big day.

The ritual of dressing for the Hollywood Bowl

If you want to go to the Hollywood Bowl, you have to really want to go to the Hollywood Bowl. It is one of the most frustrating landmarks in a city that has made arduous travel an art form. I can think of numerous times when I’ve had both the opportunity and the interest to go to the Bowl and passed. I went so far as to skip an LCD Soundsystem concert at the Bowl in 2018 that I had already bought tickets for. Instead, I slept. The only thing that could roust me from my peaceful slumber was the most grotesque vision imaginable: an undulating river of red lights in front of me. The choked arteries of traffic winding down the hill from the Hollywood Bowl. I awoke in a cold sweat, comforted by the realization that I was still at home. There were no cars. I was safe.

Going to a show at the Bowl is not a “night out.” It is days of planning, recon and meal prep. And this year, it’s only going to get more complicated. The L.A. Phil, which manages the Bowl, opted to close parking lots to make room for more ride-share and shuttle bus traffic . L.A. Phil interim executive director Daniel Song told The Times in March, “People don’t like getting to the Bowl, but everyone loves the Bowl. So if there’s a barrier [for] someone to be able to come to the Bowl, we’re going to try to fix that and we’re going to try to mitigate that as best as we can.” The theory behind scrapping 350 of the Bowl’s 1,700-plus parking spots is to have fewer cars going in and out of the area on a concert night. I guess I don’t see how that helps if people who would otherwise drive still take Ubers or Lyfts or taxis. Those are still cars, last I checked.

Hollywood Bowl parking is about to get harder. L.A. Phil boss says it’s for a good reason

The Hollywood Bowl says Lots B and C will be closed off to concertgoers driving to the venue this season, except those who purchase accessible parking passes.

March 29, 2024

I like to compare going to the Hollywood Bowl to a hike or camping trip, with its myriad hazards and environmental concerns. When do we eat? What’s the weather like? Should we pack a blanket? Everyone has their Hollywood Bowl ritual, the tidy little agenda that helps alleviate the chaos of L.A.’s most stunning existential crisis. Besides the obvious, I struggle the most with what to wear. I want to dress up, because I dress up for everything. I dress up to clean out my rain gutters, so I’m naturally going to want to dress up for John Williams night . That’s just how I am. But the Bowl often demands sensible attire. A suit and hard-bottom shoes mean you’d better not walk. This is summer in Los Angeles, so you should wear something that breathes. Linen, perhaps? Just stay away from shorts. This is not Venice Beach or a family barbecue in Reseda, for God’s sake.

You can tell people struggle with the dress code at the Bowl. It’s an elevated experience that demands a sense of reverence, but it’s also an event that requires one to lug a cooler full of cheese up a hill. You could show out, but should you? The Bowl is not a fashion show ( unless it very much is ). A band T-shirt just might be enough for you to get by. In 2015, I went to the Bowl to see Grace Jones, with Future Islands opening . Obviously, I bought a Grace Jones T-shirt that night and I still like to wear it to the Bowl as a sort of ancient (2015 feels like centuries ago) relic. And I almost always bring some sort of jacket . I beg of you to please bring a light layer, because even when it’s the deepest, darkest days of summer, there will be a breeze at night.

The Bowl is a place where I would not be shocked to see adult men in flip-flops mingling with a family of four in matching caftans. Like other cultural institutions in Los Angeles, no one would dare tell you what to wear.

The Bowl is a place where I would not be shocked to see adult men in flip-flops mingling with a family of four in matching caftans. Like other cultural institutions in Los Angeles, no one would dare tell you what to wear. I feel a similar sense of sartorial drift at the Music Center. If I’m going to the opera or a musical at the Ahmanson, shouldn’t I look nice? Well, yes, but also, my rule of dress is always to adapt to the occasion.

The Bowl is not a monolith. How you should dress for Vampire Weekend is totally different from how you’d dress for Harry Connick Jr.’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. The wide range of programming and vibes means you really can come as you are. But who are you? Dress defines identity, or maybe vice versa. But clothes and sense of self are inherently connected. Even if you put almost no effort into what you wear, that says something. Primarily, it says, “I put almost no effort into what I wear.” Music functions in the same way, illustrating in broad strokes who you want the world to think you are. When I mentioned I saw Grace Jones, I’m sure you, dear reader, made some assumptions about me. Probably first and foremost that I must be incredibly cool. Also, pretty old. And that I probably own a skirt . If I told you I saw Depeche Mode at the Bowl, you’d assume I have an all-black wardrobe and smoke weird European clove cigarettes (one of those things is not true).

You’re allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to make jorts

They are a middle finger to the gods of couture and good taste. But the thrill of the Frankenstein object is that it could be a means of self-expression or a gateway into DIY craftiness.

The Bowl is, in many ways, the preeminent place in Los Angeles to declare who you are, a music mecca that requires an Oregon Trail-esque commitment to traveling and an outfit to match. The Bowl is a place where everyone in L.A. can congregate. It’s a holy cathedral of culture that admits all (for a fee). I’ll even allow you to wear shorts to Harry Connick Jr on the Fourth of July. Begrudgingly.

Like camping, as soon as you actually get to your destination, you remember why you made the effort in the first place. The Hollywood Bowl is one of the most stunning man-made marvels in the entire city. The grand outdoor setting, the perfect acoustics, the dramatic lighting, the eerily illuminated cross in the background. Bowl season is a chance to revel in the majesty of L.A., to commune with the spirits. Or just have too much wine and develop a headache the next day. As Daniel Song said, everyone loves the Bowl, so we make the effort. Most of the time.

When we try at anything, we tell the world that something matters to us. Nothing illuminates the inner spirit quite like effort. Making the attempt, in whatever form that takes, shows people what we prioritize, whether if it’s getting dressed, listening to music or simply taking in a sunset after a long summer day. When we go to the Hollywood Bowl, we can take satisfaction in knowing that we got out of bed, we got in a car or on the subway, we walked up a hill. We tried. It matters.
