Kanchanaburi Safari Park and Open Zoo

Elephants. Probably the first thing you will think about Thailand. Though this sounds true, but if by any means you might come across Kanchanaburi there is a Safari Park that you can visit.

28 kilometers away  from the city — the Safari Park in Kanchanaburi  is  an open zoo nestled  in a vast  natural  landscape which houses camels, tigers, leopard, lions, elephants, parrots, deer, zebras, giraffe, flamingo, ostrich, llamas, and a wide varieties of different species waiting for you to witness and interact with.

Some of the animals living here have been rescued, and are now well taken care of by park volunteers and animal experts. If you are very fond of big cats, we highly recommend you to spend half a day here, learning about them, and interacting with them up close.

The elephant and crocodile show runs every day and is one of the most awaited performance that highlights the witty and talented presentation of these creatures. Before you proceed to the tour proper, there are bananas, vegetables, carrots, etc that are available for sale to feed the animals. The driver will then take you slowly, guiding you through each section and help you to take photos.

Kanchanaburi Safari Park was built based on Mr. Pun-yah Prasopsookchokemanee passion, love, and kindness towards animals. He aims for the safari park to become a learning platform for students and environmental education centers throughout the country. They also accept volunteers in the Safari that helps and spend time with the rescued animals especially the monkeys that have been rescued in the past. The volunteers help them to heal the past traumas they experienced outside the Safari.

If you have your own transportation you can roam around the zoo by yourself but it is recommended to take the zoo bus to fully enjoy the view and have a chance to interact with the wild creatures. Don’t be surprised if the giraffes will start approaching the bus to look for baskets of bananas and other fruits that they know you bought for them.

The open safari also houses some of the Asiatic Black Bear, Bengal Tiger, African Lion, Leopard that has been rescued in the past.

If you would like to have your own transportation to go and roam around the Open Zoo proper and visit the Park on your own pace and time, we can arrange a private transport for your convenience from your place and back.

This zoo is so interesting, you can get in touch with the 😀 I like the giraffe the most 😀 Zhongyou Zebra 🦓 Zhongyou are really proud 😜 In addition, you can take the jeep and the close film 😍 I hope you can take the jeep next time.

There are various animals that you can feed, like giraffes, camels, kangaroos, horses, fish, etc. There are 6 shows you can watch but you need to have a well planning on the time if you wish to watch all the shows. It's a fruitful day visiting the Marine and Safari Park.

I had an amazing experience at the safari park where I got to see lions, cheetahs, tigers and peacocks.

Open Safari Park is located in Bo Ploy District, Kanchanaburi Province. This is the first open zoo for Kanchanaburi. Here there will be animals for us to see closely. and can feed as well

Safari Park Kanchanaburi is an open zoo with seven zones, each dedicated to a particular animal. The animals in this safari park zoo are not kept inside cages. The top highlights of the park are the Elephant Show, the Crocodile Wrestling Show, the Macaw Arena Show, and the African Lion Zone. You can also opt for camping at a Thai-style house by the lake. This is an open zoo safari park. It was once a dreary mining pit, but now has been converted into one of the most fun destinations in the region. The aim of the park is to spread environmental awareness through interactive techniques. There is a wide variety of wild animals here. You can have close supervised encounters with giraffes and even tigers. There are close to 8 zones in the park, each belonging to a different animal. Kanchanaburi Safari Park Open Zoo in Kanchanaburi covers an area of 80 hectares, with lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, zebras and other large mammals inhabiting Europe and Asia, you can take the park bus to enter the wildlife park, the giraffe is very relative, and even sticks their head into the window to ask you for food.

• Visitors should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. High heels should not be worn. For tourists wearing high heels, it is not allowed to climb in front of the car or to the roof of the car.
• Only photography with cameras and mobile phones is allowed. Do not use selfie sticks, tripods, and any other items that may harm animals or people.

• Please note and be ready for the time of this activity (the activity time is about 20-30 minutes), which should be ready about 15 minutes before the scheduled time. If you are late for your booking time, your booking period will be cancelled & no refund will be given.
• Bangkok to Kanchanaburi is about 3-3.5 hours, try to catch enough time to avoid traffic jams on the road, you must depart no later than 3.5 hours. Even 4 hours was the best arrangement.
• If it can’t take photos during heavy rainfall, the zoo will reserve a seat for one year.
