Highlights of Scandinavia (12 Days)
Excellent experience, very good organization, the Director GORAN excellent person very concerned and very human, very nice hotels and excellent breakfast as well as dinners, the whole program was fulfilled, recommended 100%.
Absolute North
The tour organization and guides employed by the company were excellent, Given the length of our tour we explored 5 countries and had 3 guides. The parts we wished we would have know prior to departure were the tours are multi lingual and very large. At times we had 50+ people and only 4 spoke English, so some information was not translated by looked by the local guides hired in particular cities. The size of the group and language barriers at times felt overwhelming when spending 12-14 hour days traveling. We still would have gone given the overall experience and places we would not have seen on our own, but we would have liked to be mentally prepared for it.
Scandinavia Explorer
This trip gives a wide range of experiences. Different countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland. Different types of transport: boat, ship, train, tram, bus, bike. Different types of location: cities, countryside, lakes, fjords. Different activities: historical tours, hiking, scenic tours, sampling local foods, bob sledding. Our guide Sigrid, from Norway, was outstanding. Very organised, spoke many languages, excellent knowledge of the areas we were exploring and so much more, good sense of humour, caring, joined in and shared her passion of Scandanavia. There were so many wow moments on this trip especially the amazing views. The sight of the Fjords and tyke snow capped mounds will live on in my memory forever. 5am amazing experience.
Scenic Scandinavia and its Fjords (14 Days)

Grand Scandinavia (Classic, 20 Days)
An excellent and enjoyable tour with so much amazing scenery. Greg's knowledge, enthusiasm, commitment to us and his warm personality added so much to our experience. A special mention to our driver Zoltan whose skill and friendly nature made us all feel very safe and relaxed. Greg and Zoltan worked so well together. Would highly recommend the tour, Greg and Zoltan
Focus on Scandinavia
Great itinerary , guide, driver, local guides
Best of Iceland
The trip was great but was not really as advertised. It worked out but could have gone badly because it was not well described in the trip description
Spectacular Scandinavia & its Fjords (Classic, 15 Days)
The tour was great as we covered a broad range of sites in Denmark, Sweden and Norway!
Scandinavian Escape
Fast paced tour covering highlights of 3 countries. Local walking guides were good though variable. Bus driver Lukash was excellent. Was disappointed in tour leader - was less informative and less helpful than expected.

Capitals of Scandinavia (10 Days)
Great company, guide and driver.

A Taste of Scandinavia
Nikolai was FANTASTIC!!!! He was a great tour leader. The tour took us to many places and he educated us well. However, just a few negative comments. The hotels were not satisfactory ....I am used to better hotels when I travel. Carrying my luggage throughout the tour was very burdensome. I am an older person, and although I am in great shape, I did not want to be responsible for carrying my luggage everywhere. There was an 89 year old man on our trip. He had a real hard time catching up. I usually go on escorted tours where my luggage, and everything else, is handled by the guides, not by me. I loved the places that wer went to and overall I would suggest people take Tourradar and Intrepid if they don't mind doing some of the labor involved.
Northern Capitals
Colleen was a very knowledgeable and accommodating guide, as were the specialist guides that joined us at each city. I would have liked more stopping and immersion at the places that we drove by. and really would have liked to have had more time in Oslo. Though I wasn't particularly looking forward to the cruise from Stockholm to Helsinki, it ended up being quite enjoyable. The hotels were all conveniently located, though the Imperial in Copenhagen is in need of redecorating. This was the first tour that I have taken other than those that I took with students when I was teaching. If I go on a tour again, I think that I would rather be in a smaller group.
Copenhagen to Helsinki
Inga and Lukaz did a fantastic job. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and thought it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had.
What people love about Nordic / Scandinavia Tours
Great tour, short but hit all the places that were on the initinery and the pick up from the hotel was very swift and easy. The guides for the 2 trips were friendly. I love how Mahlia (or Maria?) added her personal touch and stories to the pitch on the bus. I had a great trip in Iceland and want to come back again in different seasons.
I was worried about the culturally mixed tour clients due to some negative reviews from previous clients. But I enjoyed the experiences of mixing with participants from Mexico and the Philippines. Yes sometimes bilingual guides’ presentations were not clear, and I had to ask for clarifications. Hotels were better than I had expected from the reviews; except in one-hotel the lightening was so bd
My trip was well organized. The Tour Leader Amanda and the Driver Raffie were both excellent. The cities, sites, people, and events experienced were a joy.

Recognized as Norway's national composer, Grieg is a beloved and revered figure throughout his native country – and his home town of Bergen – to this day. You'll enjoy a guided visit to the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen, a complex in Bergen comprising Grieg's former villa (Troldhaugen), where he resided with his wife Nina from 1885 until his death in 1907; the couple's gravesite; the hut where Grieg composed his music; a museum dedicated to his life and work, completed in 1995; and the Troldsalen concert hall.
Denmark's Frederiksborg Palace
Early-entry private visit to frederiksborg palace, a danish renaissance masterpiece.
Dating to the early 1600s as a royal residence for the King of Denmark and Norway, Frederiksborg Castle – built atop three islands in a lake near Copenhagen – has been through many trials, tribulations and changes over the centuries. Following a disastrous fire in the mid-19th century, this Danish Renaissance masterpiece was reconstructed and restored according to its original plans and drawings. Today, it's the Danish Museum of National History… and you're invited to discover its grandeur on an early-opening private visit.
We really enjoyed our night in tiny Flam. The fjords and glaciers of Norway were absolutely stunning.

About Booking This Tour
Travel Documents
If you are a U.S. citizen traveling internationally, you will need a passport valid for six months beyond the completion of your Tauck journey to enter Denmark, Sweden and Norway; however, you do not need a visa for the short duration of this tour.
If you are a citizen of another country traveling internationally, you should contact an embassy or consulate of each of the countries visited on this tour to determine what travel documentation is required.
Please note that longer stays abroad for any purpose may require additional travel documentation.
We recommend that you make at least two photocopies of all the travel documents that you bring with you. Include copies of the photo page of your passport that contains the date of issuance, the date of expiration and your citizenship. Secure one set of copies in the safe in your room while traveling and leave one set behind with someone at home who will assist you in the event your documents are misplaced, lost or stolen.
To facilitate Travel Requirements, destinations are increasingly utilizing online forms that require digital proof that you've successfully completed your submission (via an email, QR code, etc.) To ensure smooth travels and peace of mind, we strongly recommend all guests carry a personal smart phone and sign up for international data plans before traveling overseas.
TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN AS A GUARDIAN: If you are traveling as the guardian of a child/children, we strongly suggest that you carry a letter from both parents of the child authorizing emergency treatment in the event of illness or accident. For travel abroad, many foreign countries have specific entry requirements for children under 21 who are traveling internationally without BOTH parents. (These requirements are in response to the increased incidence of children being abducted and taken abroad.) PLEASE NOTE THAT TAUCK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for the disruption of travel caused by improper documentation for children traveling without both parents.

Travel Requirements For This Tour
Luggage Handling and Restrictions
Checked Luggage – General
Due to space restrictions, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one suitcase per person weighing no more than 50 pounds (23 kg) and with overall dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 62 inches (158 cm).
Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and luggage exceeding airline standards for size or weight may result in expensive overage fees or other consequences.
Airlines are free to revise luggage policies without notice, and certain airlines have different baggage allowances for different classes of service. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies.
Tauck luggage tags will be provided by your Tauck Director on Day 1 of your itinerary. Please do not attach a Tauck luggage tag to any carry-on items, as the Tauck tags designate luggage that is to be handled and transferred by ground operators and hotel staff during your journey.
Carry-on Luggage - General
Although oversize bags and wheeled, carry-on luggage are popular for airline travel, they are often not convenient or appropriate for motor coach travel or for many on-tour flights. Most modern sightseeing motor coaches offer limited space for numerous or larger items. Space under seats or in the overhead rack is typically small, and designed to accommodate items like coats, hats, purses, and small camera bags, etc.
For your day-to-day travel while on tour, we recommend that you limit your hand luggage to a small, soft-sided carry-on piece, and that you bring only those items you need handy during the day such as make-up, medications, cameras, film, etc. Items too large to fit under the motor coach seat or on the overhead rack must be stored in the luggage bays beneath the motor coach, and may be inaccessible during daytime travel.
Health, Safety and Mobility
HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS
While drinking water is generally safe at all our hotels, bottled water will be available wherever the local water is not fit to drink. We also provide bottled water on the motor coaches.
If you have a medical condition which might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify Tauck as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We will advise your Tauck Director accordingly.
Please check with your health insurance provider to determine whether you are covered while traveling. If you will not be covered under your current policy, we strongly suggest that you arrange for adequate coverage while on tour.
If you are a resident of the U.S., no vaccinations are currently required for travel to the countries visited on this tour. For complete vaccination and inoculation information, please contact your physician, the public health service in your area, or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to obtain information about vaccinations that may be required for your journey. The Travelers' Health Section of the CDC operates a 24-hour "Travelers' Health Hotline" at 800-232-4636 (toll-free in the U.S.). You may also log on to the CDC website by clicking here .
If you are a resident of another country, please contact an embassy or consulate of each of the countries visited on this tour to determine what vaccination(s) may be required for your travel.
SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS
The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited.
To enjoy this tour, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. Some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. The amount of walking you do, however, is at your discretion. Scandinavia is home to innumerable historic buildings and sites. Therefore, roads, walkways and architecture may present difficulties for some guests with physical disabilities. The visits to the palaces and castles, including Frederiksborg and Rosenborg, require climbing some steep stairways and walking moderate distances from the motor coach park to the entrance of the sites as well as within the grounds. There is a forty-five minute stroll on day 13 inside Vigeland Park in Oslo mostly on flat terrain. Perhaps the most challenging walk is at Briksdal glacier on day 9; the twenty-minute walk to the glacier is over rocky, uneven terrain. Although it can be rewarding and even exciting to get close to the glacier, the walk may not be for everyone.
All hotels on this itinerary have elevators, with the exception of the Toftaholm Herrgård due to the historic nature of the property. If you have difficulty walking, be sure to advise your Tauck Director at the beginning of the tour so that a room close to the public areas may be requested.
Smoking is not permitted on the motor coaches. The smaller hotels in Scandinavia tend not to have designated non-smoking rooms although they will make every effort to accommodate this request.
PLEASE NOTE: We regret that this Tauck itinerary cannot accommodate wheelchairs or motorized scooters. Likewise, we regret that we're unable to provide individual assistance to guests with walking difficulties or other personal needs. The responsibility of the Tauck Director who accompanies your trip is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest. Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.
Reading List
We have compiled a reading list of recommended books to give you more information about the destinations you will be traveling to on your upcoming journey!
You can view the reading list here.
The southern halves of Sweden and Norway share in the climactic benefits of the Gulf Stream with Denmark. Their temperate climate has few extremes of heat or cold. The average high temperatures from May through September range from 55 to 75˚F (13 to 24˚C) and the average low temperatures range from 40 to 55˚F (4 to 13˚C). The lowland area around Oslo in Norway is the driest and warmest part of the country in summer. Not only is Bergen the warmest city in Norway, but it is also probably the wettest, averaging approximately 80 in (2,000 mm) per year.
To read about current weather conditions, we suggest you log on to the Internet website by clicking here.
What To Pack
Bringing the right clothing for your trip is important – we've partnered with New Headings who provide an "easy-to-use, one-stop shop" for your Tauck travel needs, specifically selected for this trip. Click here to visit their site .
Your journey is designed with leisure in mind. Dress for comfort and convenience with a wardrobe that is adaptable and allows for layering. Generally, during the day, casual, comfortable, cotton clothing is recommended. Cool weather at higher elevations or at night will require warmer, layered clothing. The summers in Scandinavia are warm, but medium-weight sweaters and jackets are recommended. A waterproof raincoat with a removable lining will give you the versatility you will need in this northern climate. A topcoat is recommended for spring and fall.
In Europe, especially in finer restaurants, it is generally customary to dress somewhat formally. Slacks or a dress for women and a jacket and tie for men are acceptable dining attire. It is advisable to avoid wearing jeans, sneakers or shorts for dinner. You may also wish to dress up a bit for the welcome reception and the farewell dinner, but by all means be comfortable.
You will find a hair dryer located in your hotel guest room. Valet laundry and dry cleaning services are also available for a fee; however, these fees may be very expensive.
We recommend that you pack an adequate supply of your prescription medication in its original container to last through your entire journey, together with a copy of your doctor's prescription or a letter from your health-care provider on office stationery explaining that the medication has been prescribed for you, a list of the generic names of your medication, your travel documents and a change of clothing in your carry-on bag to avoid any inconvenience in the event that your flight or luggage is delayed.
Following is a list of recommended items to pack for your trip to Scandinavia:
- Casual daytime wear – shorts, slacks, long and short-sleeved shirts
- An optional jacket and tie for men
- Casually elegant evening wear for ladies
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
- A light sweater or jacket for higher elevations or a breezy night
- Binoculars (7x50 preferably)
- Insect repellent
- Camera, lenses, batteries, memory cards and chargers
- Lightweight, comfortable, sturdy walking shoes that have already been broken-in
- Travel alarm clock/cell phone with alarm function (many hotels do not have clocks in the rooms)
- Rain poncho and collapsible umbrella
- Daypack for camera equipment
- Sundries and toiletries that may be difficult to find en route
- Copies of your travel documents that should be secured in the safe in your hotel room while traveling

Scandinavia — Tour Highlights and Travel Tips
Land of the midnight sun and home to great natural spectacles including the Northern Lights , you’re never far from the pristine wilderness of Norway’s fjords or Sweden’s forests on a tour to Scandinavia. Let’s not forget, holidays to Scandinavia’s urban jungles are just as rewarding, with world-renowned museums and much-loved nightspots.
Tour Highlights
- Rent a kayak from the water’s edge and paddle across the crystal-clear waters of Oslo’s fjords. At 100 km in length there’s plenty of opportunity to explore its small islands, and hidden coves, while always in sight of the Norwegian capital.
- Get your kit off and plunge into one of Scandinavia’s saunas. A way of life in the region, they are a popular way of spending time with friends old and new, and come in all manner of styles, from the ultra-modern to those registered as national monuments.
- Head beyond the Arctic Circle and you’ll not only encounter snow even in the height of summer (Santa Claus has his village in Rovaniemi, Finland ) but also the midnight sun. In winter, enjoy a fantastic opportunity to marvel at the Northern Lights.
- Enjoy a night out at Tivoli in Copenhagen, the second oldest amusement park and pleasure garden in the world. First opened in 1843, its perhaps best known for its wooden rollercoaster, Rutschebanen, built more than a hundred years ago.
- Splash about in Finland’s Lakeland. The southeast of the country is home to most of the country’s 180,000 lakes, which offer chances to swim, fish, and even keep a lookout for endangered species such as the Saimaa ringed seal.
Travel Tips
- June to September is best time for sightseeing and experiencing the midnight sun, while the winter months offer wondrously snowy panoramas and the best chance of catching the northern lights
- Scandinavia is an expensive destination to visit, but a trip to Scandinavia doesn’t have to break the bank. Each capital runs free city walking tours by volunteers eager to impress, who have a great knowledge of the cheapest places to eat and drink in town too.
- Scandinavians speak a wide range of languages and are generally fluent in English.
- If you’re thinking of renting a car in Norway, opt for an electric version, which has the benefit of free parking and charging points (of which there are many), and exemption from road tolls and even ferry fees
- Scandinavian buildings are very well insulated against the winter chill. The downside of this is that they can be rather hot and stuffy during the summer, so pack night clothing accordingly.

All of the family really enjoyed our trip to the Baltic Countries and Scandinavia
All of the family really enjoyed our trip to the Baltic Countries and Scandinavia; Tours to Europe took into account all of the usual highlights we wanted to visit as well as including the special family locations. The guides were knowledgeable and very helpful; all the hotels were in excellent locations and every time we had a meeting with a driver or guide they were there on time waiting for us. We had every document or ticket provided that we needed. Overall it was a wonderful and enjoyable experience.
We were a small group of 12 who all got on extremely well
We were a small group of 12 who all got on extremely well. This added to the pleasure of our trip. Another bonus was the record-breaking warm, sunny weather in Scandinavia which was gone for our final day in Helsinki.

Geographic coordinates of Elektrostal, Moscow Oblast, Russia
City coordinates
Coordinates of Elektrostal in decimal degrees
Coordinates of elektrostal in degrees and decimal minutes, utm coordinates of elektrostal, geographic coordinate systems.
WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).
Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.
Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).
Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).
UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.
Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
