Badshah of Bollywood and heartthrob of millions Shah Rukh Khan will now promote dream city of Dubai . In this connection, Dubai Tourism has signed up King Khan to be their Dubai brand ambassador  who will shot multiple short films in this city.

The project will see the actor unravel the secrets of Dubai, offering his fans a chance to see the exquisite city through the megastar’s eyes. It aims to appeal to ‘King Khan’ fans across the globe, giving them the opportunity to explore the city and its many offerings.

The series of short films will be released across various Dubai Tourism channels in the month of December. It will be a year-long campaign of multiple Dubai Tourism projects in collaboration with Bollywood. Their major objective through this campaign is to strengthen and celebrate the bond and cultural links between Dubai and the subcontinent. It underlines the importance of India as a key source market for inbound tourism to the emirate.

The man, the myth, the legend that is Shahrukh Khan has once again graced the UAE as a brand ambassador.

If you’ve lived here for some time, you’ll know this isn’t anything new, since the Bollywood actor has pretty much been the face of a lot of real-estate developers and tourism ads. But the latest venture for the King of Bollywood is that he is now Burjeel Holding’s brand ambassador.

Burjeel Holdings is currently the UAE’s biggest private healthcare operator, and reports say that the 56-year-old and an IPL team owner are both set to appear in a regional multi-platform campaign in the next weeks.

Shah rukh khan's new ad video features him with his current long hair look and also has a vocal guest appearance by his daughter suhana khan..

Shah Rukh Khan is currently in Spain where he is shooting for his film Pathaan . While there is still some time for the film's release, the actor has featured in a new commercial for Dubai tourism. Sharing the video on Instagram, Shah Rukh wrote, “Every experience becomes a special memory in Dubai. Explore the city with me! #DubaiPresents @visit.dubai #visitdubai.” He is seen in his current long hair look in the video. The commercial opens with Shah Rukh striking his trademark pose during a film hoot with the The Atlantis Palm Hotel in the background. He gets a call from daughter Suhana who tells him to look around and have fun in Dubai since he is at a tourist destination. He goes on to dance around the city, plays some beach volley ball, visits a mall and a market and clicks selfies with fans. It ends with Shah Rukh arriving at a party in a black suit and shaking a leg with the guests. At the end of the day, Suhana calls him again and asks him about his day. “Thanks to you, had the best day of my life,” he replies to her.

Shah Rukh's fans simply happy to watch him on the screen again. A fan reacted, “King will be always king.” Another wrote, “Dubai mein sikka chalta hai Shah Rukh Khan ke naam ka (Shah Rukh rules Dubai).” One more fan said, “Looking awesome sir .....sir agar hoo sake toh hume bhi bula lo (.” Many hailed him as “Pathan" as well in the comments section. "Pathan on fire,” read one of the comments. 

Shah Rukh, along with co-stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham left for Spain last week. Reports suggest the team will be shooting for a song and a few action sequences for Pathan in Spain. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan is touted as an action-thriller and will arrive in cinemas on January 25, 2023.

The world’s tallest building, on Wednesday, paid a glowing tribute to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the actor marked his actor’s 57th birthday.

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa lit up in honour of the popular star with the message: 'Happy Birthday Shah Rukh Khan. We love you'.

The popular song, Tujhe Dekha Toh , from the star’s iconic movie, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge , played in the background while an image of Khan was projected on the building.

Khan is also the brand ambassador of Dubai Tourism. He continuously appears in campaigns showcasing the city. The actor, reportedly, also has multiple properties, including one at the iconic Palm Jumeirah.

“Dubai is my second home. There is something about the city that keeps calling me back. I am amazed by the warmth, hospitality, love and memories that Dubai and its people have given me over the years,” the actor said earlier.

Several high-octane action scenes from the actor’s upcoming Pathan , have also been shot in the emirate. The movie also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

Dubai Tourism Ambassador Shahrukh Khan Shot For An Adventurous Promotional Champaign

In a promotional campaign for Dubai Tourism, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is found performing death defying stunts. The 53-year-old actor is the brand ambassador of Dubai tourism.

‘Be My Guest’ – is the promotional campaign where  in a series of videos SRK is seen unraveling mysteries. The champaign consists of a series of films across social media and online platforms, highlighting iconic locations and sites in the Middle Eastern city.

The minute-long video is there on the superstar’s twitter account, the “Badshah of Bollywood” tweeted, “Three coins, one old box and tons of clues to solve. Wonder what my next challenge will be?”

The third video of the series was launched on Monday, that starts with a riddle, and the bollywood star was reading the riddle as, ” In the jewel of the ocean, they fall from the sky.” Then the subtitle quotes Shah Rukh saying: “I need to solve some clues.” And now its time for action, where he jets off on an exciting adventure, exploring and solving riddles till he reaches his destination ‘La Perle’ which is an acrobat show.

The video ends with Shah Rukh narrating to his friend the mystery he solved, which would head to the next one.

The video shows Shah Rukh reaches out to his fans across the world, seeking their help in solving the riddles, and inviting them to find what other fantastic experiences await them in Dubai.

UAE brand ambassadors from Hollywood and Bollywood over the years

David Hasselhoff, best known for his role as lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in 1990s TV show Baywatch , is the face of Aquaventure's latest campaign.

The actor will appear in videos in the coming months at the water park on Atlantis, The Palm .

He will be seen marshalling some of the water park’s most famous rides, running some relatively unorthodox lifeguard drills along Atlantis beach – and getting caught in the canteen queue or at the dry cleaners.

“As we've grown and evolved over the years, we knew it was time to shake things up with an epic campaign that screams fun,” said Karim Bidri, the marketing director at Atlantis, The Palm.

“We wanted this campaign to transcend generations, so we upped the nostalgia by bringing in The Hoff himself. Because, let's face it, who doesn't love a 1990s icon?”

Hasselhoff isn’t the only international celebrity to become a UAE ambassador, or star in a tourism campaign. Here’s a look at the other famous faces who have also done so.

Ryan Reynolds

In April, the Deadpool star was announced as Yas Island Abu Dhabi’s new chief island officer , taking over the role from Jason Momoa, who took the position last year from comedian Kevin Hart.

Responsible for promoting the destination to an international audience, Reynolds was revealed as the mystery skydiving celebrity who appeared in a new teaser campaign from the destination.

In the clip, Reynolds appears to skydive onto the Abu Dhabi island.

"Welcome Ryan", read lights on the W Abu Dhabi Hotel, the star's intended landing spot. But in what seems to be classic Reynolds comedy, the actor misses the mark and lands on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit.

“I've been an actor, a producer, a Welsh football club owner and I could go on. So I will," says Reynolds.

The rest of his speech is drowned out by the roar of F1 cars as they zoom around Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit, including a part where he says it's his "mission to create the first-ever Yas Island... [inaudible]", which is bound to leave viewers wondering what's to come at the destination.

The former NBA star was recently in a summer campaign video for Experience Abu Dhabi to help promote Yas Island during the summer. In it, Shaq is singing along in Arabic to Miami Band’s hit song AACHAW , before directing people to visit the website for Yas Island.

The American talk show host and personality has joined the latest campaign for DCT Abu Dhabi. Called Be Moved in a Thousand Ways , the video is introduced and narrated by Winfrey, and shares the message of the transformative power of culture to unite, inspire and open minds.

Other contributors to the campaign video include artists Mohammed Ibrahim, Najat Makki and Afra Al Dhaheri, actor Idris Elba, musician will.i.am and pianist Lang Lang.

The Academy Award-winning actress and philanthropist was an ambassador for Emirates Airline last year.

In campaigns airing in English and in Cruz's native Spanish, she was shown sampling luxuries that are exclusive to first and business-class passengers on Emirates, such as the A380 on-board lounge and the in-flight shower.

The campaign also showed Cruz settling in for a siesta on a lie-flat bed, wearing the Emirates' “hydra-active moisturising pyjamas” that are given to premium travellers.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Emirates after years of travelling with them on some of the most special trips in my life,” said Cruz.

Cruz takes over the reins as Emirates' newest ambassador from Gerry the Goose who also chose to “fly better” by ditching his migratory flock and travelling with the Dubai airline in 2022. The feathery star was voiced by British actor Michael Cronin doing his best Sir David Attenborough imitation.

Jessica Alba and Zac Efron

Alba and Efron starred in several movie-like Dubai Tourism campaign videos set in the city. The Dubai Presents series includes A Brand New You , in which a future version of Efron time travels to the present to try to better himself, and A Romance to Remember , which riffs off a rom-com meet cute.

The videos have the Hollywood stars venture into the desert, touring around the souks in Deira, skydiving, enjoying abra trips, and dining at Jumeirah Al Qasr hotel. The pieces are all directed by Cruella 's Craig Gillespie.

Bollywood hero Khan's Dubai Tourism campaign was launched in 2016. The My Name Is Khan star showcased the best of Dubai through the #BeMyGuest six-video series.

In the final video, the star receives a mysterious box. He follows a set of clues around the emirate, to solve a puzzle. He eventually does, and in the last scene walks around a beach before spotting Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow.

He sets the box down in front of her, as she asks: “What’s this?” He responds simply: “Be my guest”. Then he walks away.

Goop founder Paltrow takes on the mantle from Khan in the A Story Takes Flight film and campaign, which also stars Kate Hudson and Zoe Saldana.

The actresses embark on three journeys of exploration through the emirate “filled with inspiration, discovery and human connections”, according to Dubai Tourism.

In the film directed by Emmy winner Reed Morano, Paltrow explores the souks, tries her hand at watersports and dances in a nightclub. Hudson, meanwhile, is in Old Dubai, by the Creek at sunset and doing karaoke; while Saldana is in the desert with her children, exploring City Walk, checking out the Dubai Frame and motorbiking towards the Burj Khalifa.

In 2015, Australian actress Kidman was introduced as the new face of Etihad Airways .

She starred in a five-minute film for the brand, titled Reimagine , that gave viewers a look at the airline's Airbus A380 as she tours the aircraft on a flight between New York and Abu Dhabi.

Of the campaign, Kidman said: “The film is a culmination of Etihad’s vision to tell the airline’s story in an extremely innovative way and a commitment to engaging with the public as has never been attempted by an airline before. It was a great challenge but one which has definitely paid off and it was great to be part of such an exciting project.”

Friends star Aniston starred in an Emirates campaign in 2015 . In the advert, Aniston finds a child in her first-class cabin, then walking through the rest of the plane to find the boy's parents in economy class.

In a second campaign, she plays a bewildered US airline passenger, wearing a bathrobe and clutching a loofah and a bag of toiletries, who asks the flight attendants where she can find the shower.

The attendants tell her there is no shower and no bar, and offer hot towels and some nuts. “ This isn’t an Emirates plane, ma’am ,” they say.

In the next scene, Aniston wakes up in her private suite in an Emirates first-class cabin, and realises the whole episode was a nightmare. The ad’s slogan is: “Wake up to flying as it should be.”

The popular former wrestler and actor was the star of an advert for Visit Abu Dhabi in October 2021, in which he takes a very last-minute detour to the UAE capital after reading about the city in a magazine, while sat in a private jet.

“Let’s go to Abu Dhabi instead,” Cena tells the pilot in the video. “Drop me off!”

“Sir, I have already flown past, I would have to change the flight path,” the stressed captain replies.

Cena takes matters into his own hands and, wearing a parachute and goggles, he opens the jet’s door and jumps out shouting, “Now’s the time, Mike.”

Hart was named as Yas Island’s first chief island officer in 2022, with the US comedian promising to “Hart-ify” the destination's many attractions.

“There goes Yas Island’s first chief island officer in a white Ferrari thinking he’s a big deal,” the star’s voice said, as footage shows him zipping along the streets of Yas in the supercar. “Guess what, this is a big deal.

“The world’s most entertaining island hired me, Kevin Hart, to Hart-ify everything out here. We are going big on K-everything, because going big, that’s my middle name. Actually, it’s Darnell, but whatever.”

The video also shows Hart enjoying several of the destination’s attractions, including Warner Bros World , Yas Waterpark, Ferrari World, Clymb Abu Dhabi and Yas Links golf course.

Momoa took over the reins from Hart to become Yas Island's chief island officer in 2023.

The Aquaman star kicked off his time in the Abu Dhabi destination by paddleboarding towards Yas Island, with the five-star W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island hotel and a setting sun behind him.

Since then, he's been busy enjoying some of the island's attractions, including Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World and Yas Marina Circuit.

“There comes a time when you discover your calling, when you realise your destiny and you know your whole life has led to this one ridiculously awesome job,” says Momoa in the campaign video. “They made me chief island officer of Yas Island Abu Dhabi so now I’m making sure everyone lives it up like me … Jason Momoa.”

The superstar was spotted dancing to the tunes of O Maahi from his upcoming film Dunki on the Global Village Stage. He interacted with the fans who gathered at the multicultural entertainment destination in Dubai to get a glimpse of their favourite actor from Bollywood. After setting the stage ablaze with his moves, Shah Rukh did the most favourite thing for his fans. He opened his arms to give the signature romantic pose, which he is widely popular for.

Fans of SRK were seen holding up boards with messages like ‘ I Love You SRK’ and more. This shows their affection towards the popular star. As the night passed SRK was given a bunch of soft toys which he whirled and threw towards the audience. The noise filled the surroundings with fans shouting his name with excitement and love. He was given a missile that contained giveaway packages and he shot them across for the gifts to reach the audience gathered.

“I love you too,” Shah Rukh Khan added after expressing gratitude to everyone for their support. When he later made an appearance at Dubai’s VOX Cinemas, the audience went crazy. Enthusiastic spectators filled the entire theatre, whooping and cheering for the performer.

The actor travelled to Dubai for a unique fan event as the movie prepared for its December 21 release and advance reservations went live globally. Over the weekend, photographers snapped SRK at the Mumbai airport as he boarded a flight to Dubai. He flew down to Dubai engage with his fans in a lavish event, featuring a song and dance session where he would showcase his finest self.

During his audience interaction, Khan disclosed the storyline of his movie “Dunki,” stating that it centred on the idea that “home is where the heart is.”

Addressing an audience in Dubai, he mentioned how he knows many expats have left their homes and chosen Dubai as their second home. He further added that expats coming from come from various subcontinents, like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, and more now call Dubai their new home. So relates the situation with the plot of his movie saying that the entire film is about your longing to see your original home, even though you have your new home.

Dubai Tourism signs Shah Rukh brand ambassador

DUBAI: Dubai Tourism has signed up Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for a marketing campaign. The actor will start in a series of short films exploring secrets of Dubai. He will offer his fans a chance to see the exquisite city through his eyes. Dubai Tourism hopes to get ‘King Khan’ fans across the globe to explore the city and its many offerings via the project.

Whether I am here on vacation with my family and friends or my many business trips here for shoots, it’s a city that I truly relate to on so many levels – driven, passionate and spirited. I can’t wait to take my fans and fellow travellers from around the world on an unexpected discovery of a city that I love. This new collaboration with Dubai Tourism is exciting and one that I am personally very passionate about. Watch this space,” said Khan.

“We are delighted to partner with Shah Rukh Khan for this special project. We look forward to exploring Shah Rukh’s strong connection with Dubai and sharing his unique experience with a global audience. Burjeel’s new campaign with Bollywood superstar will roll within weeks

Dubai: Shahrukh Khan will take on the brand ambassador’s role for Burjeel Holdings, currently the UAE’s biggest private healthcare operator. The Bollywood superstar and IPL team owner will appear in a regional multi-platform ad campaign in the coming weeks.

Burjeel Holdings, which operates 39 hospitals and medical centers across the MENA region, hopes to use the Khan association to connects with an increasing number of people travelling to the UAE for their medical needs.

“Visiting Burjeel Medical City and listening to Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil was both insightful and inspirational,” said Khan. “Meeting employees and witnessing the immense passion and pride they have in their work was humbling. They really live the value of being for the people, by the people, and I’m excited to be a part of that story.”

Burjeel Holdings’ partnership with SRK follows the recent announcement of a planned expansion into Saudi Arabia. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Kingdom’s Ministry of Investment, which will see it seek opportunities to invest up to $1 billion by 2030.

Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan is in Dubai – and here’s where to see him

In town to promote his latest film, the megastar will be heading to Dubai Mall’s Reel Cinemas.

In a dazzling display of stardom, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, descended upon Dubai, setting the city abuzz with excitement. He is promoting his latest film, Dunki , and has triggered a fan frenzy, with hundreds eagerly gathering across the city to catch a glimpse of the star.

Over the weekend, hundreds of fans gathered at VOX Cinemas City Centre Deira, where Khan made an entrance. He addressed the crowd and urged them to watch his upcoming film, Dunki . He even mentioned it was his “best film”, promising a rollercoaster of emotions, blending hilarity with heartwarming moments.

Alongside promoting the film at VOX Cinemas, Khan graced the Global Village stage, where he not only interacted with fans but also showcased signature dance moves from his iconic songs.

On 19 December, Khan is set to meet fans at Dubai Mall’s Reel Cinemas. The Burj Khalifa is also expected to illuminate with the movie trailer, creating a cinematic spectacle against the city skyline.

Dunki features an ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. It weaves the tale of four friends from a Punjab village bound by a common dream — to reach England. Promising to be a saga of laughter, border-crossing adventures, unwavering friendships, homesickness, and a love that transcends all boundaries, this film is sure to warm hearts. Plus, parts of it have been shot in Neom , giving you another reason to watch the movie.

Dubai holds a special place in Khan’s heart, and he reciprocates that love as the city’s ambassador, having starred in numerous Visit Dubai campaigns. In fact, the actor owns a residence on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, making his connection with the city even more profound.

Shah Rukh Khan, fondly known as SRK, has been a powerhouse in Bollywood for over three decades. From his debut in 1992 to his recent release, Pathan , he has over 90 films under his belt, including classics like Darr , Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai , and Main Hoon Na .

The actor’s illustrious career has earned him numerous Best Actor awards at IIFA and Filmfare. In 2006, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Dubai International Film Festival, solidifying his global appeal. Last year, he was honoured at the Red Sea International Film Festival, further cementing his status as a legendary figure in the world of cinema.

Khan’s upcoming film, Dunki , is in cinemas on 21 December.
