DOA Underwriting teams up with AXA Partners

The deal will see axa partners uk & ireland underwrite a range of mass-market leisure travel insurance policies across david oliver associates (doa) underwriting’s portfolio.

The partnership aims extend the reach of DOA Underwriting’s travel policies via approximately 1,500 brokers and insurance intermediaries in niche market sectors.

Paul Moloney, Client Director at AXA Partners, said the long-term partnership will sees his company underwriting DOA policies offering coverage for medical screening, sports activities and cruises, alongside claims handling management for all brands.  

He added: “Our new partnership with DOA Underwriting Ltd, and its own brand SunWorld, plays a key part in our travel strategy – with the ultimate goal of providing a high standard of insurance cover for as many travellers as possible. Working with DOA, who not only bring new distribution to AXA Partners but also digital expertise, will only strengthen that position further.”

AXA Partners UK & Ireland previously announced a similar ‘multimillion-pound’ extended partnership to provide underwriting services to the ROCK Insurance Group in June 2022.

The insurer says the agreement forms ‘a key part in our travel strategy’

MGA David Oliver Associates (DOA Underwriting) has agreed a multimillion pound capacity deal with Axa Partners UK and Ireland, which will underwrite the MGA’s mass market travel insurance policies.

As part of the long-term agreement, Axa Partners UK and Ireland will underwrite DOA Underwriting’s travel insurance policies, which include medical screening, sports activities and cruises.

The insurer will also handle claims management across all of DOA Underwriting’s travel brands, such as SunWorld.

The partnership aims to extend the reach of DOA Underwriting’s travel policies – via approximately 1,500 brokers and insurance intermediaries in niche market sectors – as well as enhance the MGA’s customer experience and expand Axa Partners’ footprint in the travel insurance market.

Building market share

Speaking on the deal, Paul Moloney, client director at Axa Partners, said: “Our new partnership with DOA Underwriting - and its own brand SunWorld - plays a key part in our travel strategy, with the ultimate goal of providing a high standard of insurance cover for as many travellers as possible.

“We have recently gone through a rapid expansion phase in the travel space, which has been a result of our proven capability in this market.

“Working with DOA, [which] not only [brings] new distribution to Axa Partners, but also digital expertise, will only strengthen that position further.”

David moscow.

David Moscow is the creator, executive producer, and host of  From Scratch .

 David made his feature film debut at age thirteen in  Big , starring as the young Tom Hanks; years later, he starred with Christian Bale in  Newsies . He has appeared in dozens of films, television shows, and theater productions over a thirty-five year career.

Most recently, David founded the production company UnLTD Pictures. He has executive produced more than twenty feature films, including  Under the Silver Lake ,  To Dust ,  Strawberry Mansion , and  Wild Nights  with Emily. He also directed the thriller  Desolation .

David develops mixed-income sustainably green apartment buildings. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and children.

Jon Moscow is David’s father and creative partner, and is a writer on  From Scratch .

He is co-executive director of Ethics in Education Network and co-host of the  Ethical Schools   podcast. He actively works to support asylum seekers with housing and links to social services. 

Jon has a BA in International Studies from Reed College and a master’s degree from Bank Street College of Education. He and David’s mother, Pat, live in Teaneck, NJ, with a Shih Tzu named Niki.
