Comedian Tracy Morgan will headline all over the country on a 2022 tour.

Tracy Morgan is one of those comedians that is so ubiquitous, fans could recognize him from any number of his many well-known projects.

It could be “Saturday Night Live,” “30 Rock,” hosting the ESPYs, “Half Baked,” “Coming 2 America” or “The Last OG.”

Don’t forget his stand up comedy though.

In 2022, Morgan will be spending fewer hours on film and TV sets and more time in green rooms and on the stage as he travels his act all around North America as part of his ongoing “Working It Out” and “No Disrespect” tours.

“The Last OG” season four

Morgan’s hit sitcom “The Last OG” just wrapped its ten-episode fourth season in December 2021.

The show, about a reformed inmate who has to adjust to society after 15 years in prison, humorously touches on parenthood, lost relationships and the ever-changing nature of the world.

All four seasons of “The Last OG” are available on HBO Max .

Tracy Morgan is one of the most well-respected comedians in his field. Known for starring on seven seasons of NBC’s Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning 30 Rock, Morgan appeared opposite Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin as “Tracy Jordan,” the unpredictable star of “Liz Lemon’s” (Fey) hit variety show, TGS with Tracy Jordan. Morgan received an Emmy Nomination in the Supporting Actor category for his work on the show and was nominated multiple years for the Supporting Actor NAACP Image Award. The cast of the show also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for best Ensemble in a Comedy Series before the beloved series came to an end in January 2013 .He can currently be seen on the No Disrespect stand up tour nationwide. Most recently, Morgan can be seen in four seasons of TBS’ The Last OG, which he also executive produces and Amazon’s Coming 2 America alongside Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, which was released in March 2021. He also appeared in Warner Brothers Scoob!, Paramount’s What Men Want, opposite Taraji P. Henson, and voiced the role of “Fox” in Netflix’s 2019 series Green Eggs & Ham. Morgan’s stand up special Staying Alive was released globally on Netflix in May 2017. Prior, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the 2016 class. Morgan was also nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2016 for hosting an episode of the legendary Saturday Night Live. In 2014, Morgan released a standup special for Comedy Central titled Tracy Morgan: Bona Fide, which brought the network one of its largest audiences for a standup special that year. Previously, his first stand up special, Black & Blue, was released on HBO in 2010. Another milestone for Morgan was reached in 2009 with the release of his first book, a compilation of studied anecdotes and some of the more serious moments that shaped him and his career, I Am the New Black.

Morgan has also been part of some of the most successful animated films in recent years. In 2009, he made his animation debut lending his voice for Jerry Bruckheimer’s G-Force, a combination live-action/CG film. The film opened No. 1 in US box office sales and was celebrated by audiences worldwide. In 2013, he starred as the bulldog, “Luiz,” in the film Rio and again in April 2014 when he reprised his role in Rio 2. Morgan’s voice can also be heard in the Oscar-nominated film, Boxtrolls, as one of the film’s antagonists, “Mr. Gristle.”

Morgan has headlined across the country and abroad on various tours and festivals for his stand-up comedy. He was first introduced to television audiences in his role as “Hustle Man” on the hit comedy series Martin. He went on to join Saturday Night Live in 1996 where he appeared for seven seasons and created such memorable characters as “Astronaut Jones” and “Brian Fellows.” After leaving SNL, Morgan went on to star in his own comedy series, The Tracy Morgan Show, and he voiced “Spoonie Luv” on Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers. Additional film credits include Cop Out, the remake of the British film Death at a Funeral, First Sunday opposite Ice Cube and Katt Williams, The Longest Yard opposite Adam Sandler, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Head of State, Son of No One, Why Stop Now and Fist Fight.

Recap: Tracy Morgan's "Turn It Funny" Tour Won Over the Pabst Theater

As talented as he is, comedian Tracy Morgan often attracts more attention for saying crazy shit than he does for his standup. Whether he’s referring to Sarah Palin as “Good masturbation material” during a live NBA broadcast or stirring up controversy with some insanely homophobic remarks (which, while wildly inappropriate, didn’t derail his career in a Michael Richards-esque way mainly thanks to a convincingly sincere apology and Tina Fey vouching for his character), the former “30 Rock” star has a tendency to go off script in rather spectacular ways, just as his thinly fictionalized counterpart did on the now sadly departed NBC sitcom. Depending on who you are that might be reason enough to buy a ticket right there, but this particular evening at the Pabst, there was only quality standup comedy on display.

Sporting bright white pants and a shiny purple shirt, a bit of an odd combo, Morgan emerged to uproarious applause, the crowd having been warmed up by a pair of agreeable but eminently forgettable openers. He began, as many comics do, with a little light local color, mostly about how the area’s known for producing more than its fair share of serial killers, before holding court on a wide variety of subjects, from horror movie tropes and life in the suburbs to the shortcomings of today’s popular music. There was of course a great deal of material about sex, the blue stuff being his bread and butter, which he approaches just like he does everything else, with an irreverent mix of candid realism and outright silliness, all liberally peppered with well-timed four-letter words.

Morgan’s at his best when he moves away from the broader observational humor, which strays at times into Def Comedy Jam cliché, and draws on his own personal experiences, as when he reminisced about his troubled days spent selling crack, a profession he was ill-suited for as a self-professed sensitive young man, always telling junkies to get help, or broke down the way his life has changed with money and fame. Not that it got serious at any point, it’s called the “Turn It Funny” tour after all, and despite a brief lull about three quarters through his hour-long set, the show delivered on its title. Morgan’s taken things too far before, but if any part of this performance ends up on YouTube, it’ll be because it’s hilarious, not merely outrageous or offensive.

Tracy Morgan Cancels Mississippi Performance Over Religious Accommodations Act

Tracy Morgan has canceled his Mississippi tour date, making him the latest performer to push back against the state’s legislation that critics say discriminates against the LGBT community.

A stand-up show in Tunica, Mississippi was slated as part of Morgan’s comeback stand-up tour following a fatal car crash Morgan had been severely injured in. His cancellation comes in response to the Religious Accommodations Act, which grants businesses the right to refuse services to LGBT customers throughout the state.

“Tracy did not make this decision lightly,” his rep said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter ). “He very much looks forward to rescheduling his tour dates in the area after the ‘Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act’ is either repealed or heavily amended.”

Morgan’s move to support LGBT rights comes five years after the comic sparked criticism for anti-LGBT remarks he made during a stand-up performance in Nashville, Tennessee. In the bit, the comedian threatened to “stab” his son if he ever came out as gay. His 30 Rock co-star Tina Fey called the statements “disturbing” and Morgan later apologized, stating he didn’t “have a hateful bone in my in my body.”

Ellen DeGeneres used her talk show as a platform to speak out against this same Mississippi legislation, giving a touching and strong speech to her audience during her opening monologue about human rights. The issue had hit close to home for the comedian who grew up in Louisiana and visited the neighboring state often since she had family who lived there. Many musicians have canceled shows in North Carolina for similar reasons as Morgan, including Bruce Springsteen , Jimmy Buffett and most recently Pearl Jam .

Gotham Gossipist: Tracy Morgan Suffers Sickness On Tour In Denver

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- I think it's safe to say that there is something wrong with Tracy Morgan.

Perhaps he's allergic to mountainous regions.   In January , Morgan collapsed at an event for Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah .  A physician at the Park City Medical Center told the press that Morgan was suffering from exhaustion and altitude sickness.

According to TMZ , now Morgan is suffering from a severe case of déjà vu. The comedian has cancelled a series of performances in Colorado this week.

The audience was already enjoying the opening act at Denver's Comedy Works South on Saturday night, when the MC informed the crowd that Morgan was too sick to perform and their tickets would be refunded.

Morgan cancelled the rest of his Denver-based shows and instead spent his stay in a local hospital being treated for  flu-like symptoms and dehydration.

Tracy was seen on Sunday being wheeled around Denver International Airport in a wheelchair, waiting to board a flight back to New York.

It's very possible that Tracy just happens to be prone to exhaustion, dehydration, the flu, and altitude sickness, but I wouldn't rule out something slightly more serious being at the root of all this very public string of hospitalizations.
