Sawyer Brown Announce Fall Tour in 2024 with Shenandoah

Country band Sawyer Brown has quite a few tour dates lined up this year, and they’ve just added a Canadian leg with fellow country outfit Shenandoah. The Canadian leg of the tour will celebrate Sawyer Brown’s 40th anniversary with support from Shenandoah as well as special guest George Fox. Both of these bands were powerhouse country acts in the 1980s and 1990s, so it’s only fitting that they kick off this 12-date tour together!

The next stop on the Sawyer Brown 2024 Tour will be today, April 18, in Big Spring, Texas at Tate’s Place Benefit. The final date of the tour will be November 2 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada at Centre in the Square with Shenandoah.

Sawyer Brown + Shenandoah Team for 2024 Tour Dates

Two of the biggest country acts from the '80s and '90s are teaming for a string of tour dates in 2024. Sawyer Brown are hitting the road in 2024 for their 40th Anniversary Tour, and they're bringing along fellow hitmakers Shenandoah .

Sawyer Brown's 40th Anniversary Tour is set to launch on Thursday (April 18) in Big Spring, Texas. The tour runs through Nov. 2, when it wraps up in Canada.

Shenandoah will join Sawyer Brown for 12 dates in Canada at the end of the tour, running from Oct. 17-Nov. 2.

2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Swayer Brown winning Star Search , which launched the band's career. The group went on to place a long string of hits in the '80s and '90s that includes "Step That Step," "The Walk," "Some Girls Do," "Thank God for You," "Treat Her Right" and more.

Sawyer Brown will release a new album titled Desperado Troubadours on March 8. Blake Shelton produced the new project.

Shenandoah also enjoyed a string of hits in the late '80s and '90s, including "The Church on Cumberland Road," "Two Dozen Roses," "Next to You, Next to Me," "If Bubba Can Dance (I Can Too)" and more. The group released a new song, "Revival," in 2023, as well as a new recording of "Two Dozen Roses" featuring Luke Combs .

It truly is amazing how one opportunity can domino into another amazing opportunity. For Bobby Randall, Jim Scholten, Joe Smyth, Greg “Hobie” Hubbard and Mark Miller, the first opportunity was to play as the supporting band for country pop singer Don King; this lead to them forming their own band under the name Sawyer Brown that has continued to allow them to share their music with millions of people around the world. They have even collected a number of Country Music awards including CMT video group award and CMA vocal group of the year award.

Since their formation in the mid 90s, they have been traveling and performing their live shows for quite a long time. This means that they have acquired a lot of fans that flock to their shows and pack the venue. There is a lot of love, a lot of energy and a lot of passion that goes into the show. From the audience to the band itself, you can clearly see how much they love performing for their fans. Spread out across the stage, they even have a bit of banter between each other, giving everyone an inside look at how great a friendship they have.

Sawyer Brown never fails to put on great show and Logan's show was no exception! They were fabulous! The band's amazing energy is second only to their kick butt sound. I have followed Sawyer Brown since 1983 and they just get better and better. Shayne is second to none on the guitar. Mark's voice continues to wow. Put those 2 together for "All These Years" and while the song is about adultery, they are wonderful. They bring tears to my eyes Every time. "Traveling Band" is one of my new favorites. I love the sincerity. I love Hobie's solos! He is such an incredible talent! Shayne's covers were awesome! As long as this band travels I will drive to see them, it was terrific they were in Logan this year, last year I drove to Price. Thank Sawyer Brown;Mark, Hobie, Jim, Joe and Shayne for Blessing us with your God given talent!

Great concert! Can't wait to attend another Sawyer Brown high engery show! The meet and greet session before the concert was a life time experience. If you ever have a chance to attend a Sawyer Brown concert, I have just one word for you...GO! You'll be glad you did.

Sawyer Brown is always a treat to see in concert. Mark Miller and the boys have so much energy and love the songs too. They really interact well with the crowd of both young and old. The boys get along together well even after all these years.

They always give the BEST concerts!! Saw them on February 15, 2022 at the Grand Ole Opry; they came out smiling and Never stopped!!! Show was high energy as usual and just as spectacular as usual!! Can’t wait for my next concert!!!

Awesome as usual. Still just as high energy as the first time I saw them. I really enjoyed the smaller more intimate setting. They played some of their older tracks, which was very enjoyable.

Years before The Voice and American Idol, there was Star Search with Ed McMahon. In the first season, an eclectic and charismatic country-rock band appeared on the show, taking America by storm. After being told no time after time in Nashville showcases, Sawyer Brown won over millions of fans with their electrifying TV performances week after week in Hollywood. Capturing the hearts of all ages, their sound was compared to country super-groups like Alabama and Charlie Daniels Band, but they looked more like the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith. From ignored underdogs in Music City to overnight rock stars from LA to New York, they swept the competition and won.

Riding on the wave of sudden TV popularity, the band spent their first year-and-a-half on the road with country and pop icon Kenny Rogers, opening his shows in arenas across the U.S., all while learning from the best. Trailblazing country music group Sawyer Brown has brought its “energetic and charismatic” ( Billboard ) shows to fans all over the U.S. this year via the 40th Anniversary of Sawyer Brown Tour, celebrating the band’s four-decade milestone since winning the first-ever Star Search competition in 1983. This October, the band will bring GRAMMY-winning 90s country band Shenandoah along for 12 dates across Canada. 

In addition to the tour, Sawyer Brown celebrated its 40th anniversary with the premiere of its career-spanning Get Me To The Stage On Time documentary and its Blake Shelton -produced album ‘Desperado Troubadours’ (3.8 via Curb Records). Country Music legends Sawyer Brown announce Fall 2024 Canadian dates alongside Shenandoah and special guest George Fox. Kicking off in Edmonton on Oct 17th, the run will visit multiple Canadian cities including Kelowna, Lethbridge, Prince George, and makes its way into the Moose Jaw Events Centre, Saturday, October 26th .

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 19th at 10am.

Since 1984, Sawyer Brown's high-energy reputation, uncompromising dedication to their fans, along with their relentless drive to stay true to themselves have never wavered. For the past forty years, “the boys” legendary live shows have captivated audiences with no signs of ever slowing down. Today, Sawyer Brown just keeps on delivering their unapologetically blue-collar, grass-roots message through music. One of their fan-favorite songs says it all: “They were searchin’ for stars when we came along, it was rock ’n roll in a country song, there were five of us thinking that we can, this is the life and times of a travelin’ band.”

Fans will also be treated to the sounds of Shenandoah . Marty Raybon and Mike McGuire formed Shenandoah in 1984 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with bassist Ralph Ezell, keyboardist Stan Thorn and guitarist Jim Seales. Shenandoah inked a deal with Columbia Records and began establishing a national fan base with their self-titled debut in 1987. However, it was the band’s sophomore effort,  The Road Not Taken , that spawned their first top ten hits, "She Doesn't Cry Anymore" and "Mama Knows."

The group followed with three consecutive No. 1 hits, "Church on Cumberland Road," "Sunday in the South" and "Two Dozen Roses." "The Church on Cumberland Road" spent two weeks at the top of the chart and made country music history as it marked the first time that a country band's first No. 1 single spent more than one week at the summit.

Shenandoah became known for delivering songs that celebrated the importance of faith and family while reveling in the joys of small town life. "Next to You, Next to Me" topped the charts for three weeks and "Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart," a beautiful duet with Alison Krauss, won a Country Music Association Award for Vocal Event of the year and a GRAMMY® for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. Shenandoah also won the Academy of Country Music’s Vocal Group of the Year in 1991.

Legendary Canadian singer George Fox will open the shows. Fox has a mantle of country music awards, has recorded 11 albums, opened for some of the biggest names in country music, and headlined sold out shows coast to coast. Throughout the eighties, George opened for country greats like Randy Travis, Dolly Parton, George Strait and Willie Nelson. In 1995, George was honoured by his hometown of Cochrane, Alberta with the naming of a local roadway ‘George Fox Trail’. In 2022, George was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.
