Princess Cruises Reveals 2022-23 Australia & New Zealand Schedule

Princess Cruises has announced its 2022-2023 Australia and New Zealand program, which will see several of the company’s ships in the region.
Grand Princess will be making her debut in Australia, sailing from Melbourne. Four ships, including Royal and Majestic Princess, will homeport in Sydney. And Coral Princess will be returning to Brisbane to offer longer voyages.
The 2022-2023 schedule will feature 76 unique itineraries to 68 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. Voyages will range from quick two-night getaways to 30+ day adventures.
Program Highlights
- Departures from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth (Fremantle), Adelaide, and Auckland
- New Zealand itineraries ranging from 10 to 19 days, with flexible options to sail from Australia to New Zealand and vice versa, or sail roundtrip from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Auckland
- Circumnavigation of the Australian continent on Roundtrip Australia voyages, including stops in Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef and new calls to Kuri Bay for the epic landscapes of the Kimberley Region.
- Northern Explorer itineraries (14 to 17 days) from Brisbane and Perth, calling to Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia
- The island of Tasmania on five to 10-day voyages roundtrip from Sydney or Brisbane
- Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef on roundtrip voyages from Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne in seven to 14 days
- Four Transpacific Crossings connecting North America to Australia in fall 2022 and spring 2023 on Majestic and Grand Princess
- Hawaii, Tahiti, and South Pacific itineraries from Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland (35 days)
- Asia and Australia — 12 to 20 day voyages in August 2022 on Royal Princess, sailing from Hong Kong to Australia via Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam. In March 2023, Royal Princess will sail from Sydney to Hong Kong on 16 to 18 day voyages.
Cruises in the 2022-2023 Australia and New Zealand program will open for booking on March 2, 2021.

Princess Cruises announces new itineraries for the upcoming Australia & New Zealand 2021-2022 season
Princess Cruises announced destination-rich itineraries for the line’s upcoming Australia & New Zealand 2021-2022 season, on sale from September 16, 2020, which also includes calling at the South Pacific destinations of Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, and Vanuatu.
This is also one of Princess Cruises' largest deployments ever offered as 5 ships will sail to a total of 82 destinations in 19 different countries on 59 itineraries.
Coral Princess , Emerald Princess , Pacific Princess , Royal Princess , and Sapphire Princess , will sail this season with cruises ranging from 2 to 36 days. Options abound with voyages between various homeports including Adelaide , Auckland , Brisbane , Melbourne , Sydney , as well as sailings to North America and Southeast Asia.
Itinerary highlights of the line's Australia & New Zealand October 2021-April 2022 season include:
- Roundtrip New Zealand cruises ranging from 11 to 14 days, from various homeports in Australia including Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne. Itineraries feature the popular Marlborough Wine Region (from Picton ) as well as scenic cruising of Fiordland National Park .
- 4 one-way Australia & New Zealand cruises between Sydney and Auckland sailing to key homeports including Christchurch and Melbourne on Emerald Princess and Royal Princess. Circumnavigate Down Under on a Round Australia trip departing from Brisbane and Sydney, including calls at Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef and Kimberley Coast .
- Discover Tasmania on roundtrip sailings from 5 to 10 days from Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
- Visit many South Pacific islands including Fiji, Hawaii & Tahiti, PNG & Solomon Islands, and New Caledonia & Vanuatu, on a variety of journeys ranging from 11 to 35 days.
- Hawaii, Tahiti & South Pacific Crossings connecting North America to Australia in fall 2021-spring 2022, ranging between 27-29 days.

With five ships will sailing to 82 destinations in 19 countries on 59 unique itineraries, Princess Cruises ‘ 2021-22 Australia and New Zealand season will be one of the cruise line’s largest deployments ever offered. Royal Princess, Emerald Princess, Sapphire Princess, Coral Princess and Pacific Princess will offer voyages ranging from two to 36 days. Options abound with sailings between a variety of homeports including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Auckland, as well as journeys to Southeast Asia and North America.

To maximize the experience in each locale, Princess is offering 14 destinations with late-night, or “More Ashore” stays, including Auckland, Darwin, Hobart and. Sydney.
During the 2021-2022 season Princess will visit 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites including:
- Tasmanian Wilderness (from Burnie) – one of the largest conservation areas in Australia covering nearly 20 percent of Tasmania.
- Greater Blue Mountains with the chance to gaze up at the Three Sisters spectacular rock formation (from Sydney).
- Chief Roi Mata’s Domain (from Port Vila) – the most notable chief in Vanuatu’s history, the “domain” is the first site inscribed in Vanuatu and is a triangle including his old tribe village, his burial grounds, as well as the cave where he supposedly died.
- Komodo National Park (on Komodo Island in Indonesia) – founded in 1980 to protect the Komodo Dragon, the world’s largest lizard.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Elevating the art of relaxation and serenity, Princess Cruises is introducing exclusive, next-level Sanctuary Collection aboard Sun Princess and Star Princess, as these newest ships prepare to debut with this select, all-inclusive oasis in early 2024.
As the name suggests, guests reserving in the Sanctuary Collection enjoy exclusive access to the ship's top deck retreat area, along with a host of additional and high-end amenities designed to enhance their voyage. These indulgences include exclusive private dining and relaxation areas, a luxurious stateroom experience, as well as the Princess Premier bundle to round out the all-inclusive allure of the Sanctuary experience.
Aboard Sun Princess, the luxurious, spa-inspired, top-deck Sanctuary Club, is now reserved exclusively for Sanctuary Collection guests who access the private entry via their Princess Medallion. In the adults-only (16 and up) area, guests enjoy plush lounge furniture, private cabanas, pool and jacuzzi, attentive service, soothing music, refreshing beverages, and light fare. The Club also features exclusive programming, including sunrise yoga classes and sail-away receptions.

Princess Cruises: 2024 Capacity Breakdown

Princess Cruises continues to invest in its core markets in 2024. According to the 2024 Cruise Industry News Annual Report , the Carnival Corporation brand will see most of its capacity concentrated in North America.
The premium brand is set to offer strong programs in the Caribbean and Alaska, which account for almost half of the company’s inventory.
Gaining significant capacity this year, the Caribbean will see nine ships offering cruises of seven nights and more, in addition to two offering two- to five-night itineraries.
Hosting seven ships in 2024 , Alaska continues to be Princess Cruises’ largest summer market. The lineup in the region includes some of the fleet’s largest and newest ships, such as the 2022-built Discovery Princess and the 2017-built Majestic Princess.
The Mediterranean is set for considerable growth, with a 25 percent capacity increase. With a total of three ships, the Mediterranean fleet is led by the new Sun Princess.
After entering service in February , the 4,300-guest vessel is offering a long season in the region that features a series of seven- to 21-night cruises.
Princess Cruises’ 17-ship fleet is also set to offer a significant number of cruises in other regions of the globe, including Australia, Northern/Western Europe and Canada/New England.
The latter is also seeing growth, with a 65 percent spike in capacity and one additional ship compared to 2023.
One of the highlights of the 2024 program in the Canada/New England region is the Island Princess. Sailing from New York City, the vessel is scheduled to offer a series of new Colonial Heritage itineraries that include a call in Yorktown, Virginia.
Princess is offering two world cruises in 2024, including a 111-night voyage departing from Fort Lauderdale and a 110-night itinerary departing from Australia and New Zealand.
