ABOUT THE BANDS:

With more than 110 million albums sold worldwide and two prestigious Diamond Awards in the U.S., 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® inductees Def Leppard – Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) — continue to be one of the most important forces in rock music. Over the course of their career the band has produced a series of classic ground-breaking albums that set the bar for generations of music fans and artists alike.

The group’s spectacular live shows and arsenal of hits have become synonymous with their name, leading Def Leppard to be heralded as the world’s greatest live rock band. Def Leppard’s influential career includes numerous hit singles and ground-breaking multi-platinum albums—including two of the best-selling albums of all time, Pyromania and Hysteria, capturing the group’s legendary tracks, bringing together classic Leppard hits such as “Rock of Ages”, Pour Some Sugar on Me” and “Foolin.”

For the first time, in January 2018 Def Leppard debuted their full recording catalogue worldwide via streaming and download platforms. As they did with the original release of their records, Def Leppard dominated the worldwide charts again, which found their albums charting in the iTunes Top 10 in more than 30 countries, including Hysteria at #3 in the US, and #5 in the UK (36 years after the album had charted at No 1 in the Billboard charts). Def Leppard also had the #1, #2 and #3 records on the US catalogue albums chart.

The band has gone on to amass a staggering 5.5 billion streams since 2018, reaching a younger 18-44 demographic that now represents 58% of their fanbase. Additionally, the band have garnered an impressive 15 million followers across their social media platforms. In May 2022, Def Leppard released their twelfth studio album Diamond Star Halos. The album debuted at #1 on the Apple and Amazon Music charts. The album also scored a Top 10 debut on North America’s Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, marking the band’s eighth Top 10 album of their career, and garnered a #1 debut on Billboard’s Hard Rock chart. Diamond Star Halos had numerous Top 10 chart entries globally including a Top 5 debut in the UK. Following the close of their historic 2018 co-headline stadium and arena run in North America, Def Leppard sold in excess of 1,000,000 tickets and the tour grossed over $100,000,000.00, a massive feat in today’s touring world. Def Leppard & Mötley Crüe topped that number yet again with another sold out North American stadium run in 2022 selling over 1.3 million tickets which grossed a staggering $173,500,000.00.

The band continue that momentum into 2023 with The World Tour alongside Mötley Crüe, hitting Europe, Australia, and Japan, and with the release of their new album, Drastic Symphonies, a symphonic record featuring their greatest tracks dramatically reimagined with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Mötley Crüe — Vince Neil (vocals), Nikki Sixx (bass), Tommy Lee (drums) and Mick Mars (guitars) — has commandeered the rock pantheon for 41 years. The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, garnered 7 USA platinum and multi-platinum albums, 22 Top 40 mainstream rock hits, 6 Top 20 pop singles, 3 Grammy nominations, 5 New York Times best-selling books, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Netflix hit movie. Mötley Crüe continues touring the world with John 5 on guitar as they push the visual limits of live performance.

The quartet has amassed over 5 billion streams across digital platforms and the band has over 8 million followers on social media. Known for their iconic live performances, the band has sold-out countless tours across the globe in front of millions of fans with groundbreaking production highlights such as Tommy Lee’s drum-rollercoaster and Nikki Sixx’s flame-throwing-bass. They pioneered the Las Vegas rock residency with a sold out run in 2012. Mötley Crüe’s hit songs such as “Kickstart My Heart” and “Home Sweet Home” are frequently licensed by major brands such as NASCAR, Dodge, Coldwell Banker, Carl’s Jr. and KIA to name a few and their music can be heard on TV hit shows such as Stranger Things and Cobra Kai amongst many others.

The band’s biography “The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band” became a New York Times best-seller in 2001 and has sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Members of the band have authored 4 additional New York Times best-selling books since. In 2019 Netflix premiered “The Dirt” biopic based on the bestselling book which became a global hit movie scoring a 94% positive audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. As a result, Mötley Crüe gained an entire new generation of young fans who discovered the band through the movie and further solidified their iconic status, relevance, and the timelessness of their songwriting.

Mötley Crüe remains a huge global draw 41 years into their career and, in the summer of 2022 co-headlined a nearly sold out North American stadium tour with Def Leppard. The tour will continue to travel to stadiums around the world throughout 2023 with John5 on guitar as they push the limits of live performance.

Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

UPDATE #1: Nikki shared another post, this time with John 5 – who will be playing guitar in Mick Mars ‘ place on their upcoming world tour – still no dates announced but Australia is on the list!

Stay tuned for more…

I hope you’re happy reading this because I launched myself out of bed and am currently nursing a burnt throat due to pouring boiling hot coffee down it in an attempt to wake up… But enough about me 😉

Nikki Sixx of the infamous hair metal gang Motley Crue has confirmed the band will be bringing their World Tour back to Australia for the first time since their… final… tour… back in May of 2015.

In a tweet posted early this morning, the icon revealed:

Gonna be a fun year for us touring some more US shows-Latin America-Europe UK-Japan and Australia——— @MotleyCrue — 📷 (@NikkiSixx) December 15, 2022

While no dates have been revealed, we can already predict stadiums and football field sized venues across the country being utilised for their return – which should also feature Def Leppard who they’ve been playing these World Tour shows alongside, and potentially another special guest with Alice Cooper , who has joined the two leading bands on their first US 2023 tours announced back on December 9th . Joan Jett and Poison have also tapped in and out of their touring schedule, so who knows what kind of rendition we’ll see down under. This is pure speculation so don’t quote me on that final lineup.

One thing’s for sure, guitarist Mick Mars won’t be making the trip down as he has announced his retirement from live shows via the band’s socials. In his place, the band have asked Rob Zombie guitarist (and solo shredmaster himself) John 5 to take on the riffage, so depending on his schedule, we may be able to catch him tearing up the stage alongside Vince, Tommy and Sixx.

Stay tuned for more, but start grabbing ample bottles of hairspray in anticipation.

Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard have announced that they will be touring in Australia this November, as part of their co-headlining World Tour.

“After getting back on the road this past summer, we’re beyond thrilled to bring this massive tour to a global audience including some special dates in Australia!” says Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott in a new statement.

“We had an incredible time playing The Stadium Tour in North America and we truly can’t wait to continue taking the show around the globe with The World Tour in 2023,” Mötley Crüe add in their own statement. “Crüeheads get ready because we have a few amazing Australian dates set for you!”

The rock titans are set to play three dates in the country: Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on 8 November, Sydney’s Giants Stadium on 11 November, and Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on 14 November.

Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard are currently on the European leg of The World Tour, which will see them take on London’s Wembley Stadium on 1 July. After wrapping the European leg, the bands will head to the US in August, where they’ll be supported by fellow rock royalty Alice Cooper.

In 2022, it was reported that Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe’s previous Stadium Tour made a profit of $173.5 million in ticket sales. The tour took place over 36 nights and 1.3 million tickets were sold, with an average of 37,520 fans attending each show.

Considering there are a staggering 35 dates on this current tour, it is expected to gross similarly stratospheric levels of revenue.

ICYMI, Mötley Crüe Are Planning An Australian Tour For This Year

By Music Feeds

Dust off your leopard spandex, because glam rock degenerates Mötley Crüe are plotting an Australian tour for this year.

ICYMI, bassist Nikki Sixx recently confirmed via Twitter that Oz would feature on the legendary hair metal act’s 2023 world tour itinerary.

“Gonna be a fun year for us…”

Gonna be a fun year for us touring some more US shows-Latin America-Europe UK-Japan and Australia——— @MotleyCrue — ? (@NikkiSixx) December 15, 2022

“Gonna be a fun year for us touring some more US shows-Latin America-Europe UK-Japan and Australia,” the twice-resurrected bassist tweeted.

If true, the tour would mark the iconic act’s first time playing live on Aussie turf since their, ahem, “final” tour back in 2015 with Alice Cooper.

Since signing a document announcing their “legal breakup” in 2014 and blowing up said document in 2019 , Crüe have enjoyed a pop cultural resurgence thanks to Netflix’s recent adaptation of their salacious joint autobiography The Dirt , as well as the release of Hulu production  Pam & Tommy , a satirical quasi-biopic about drummer Tommy Lee’s notorious sex tape with Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, and Pam’s own Netflix documentary retort Pamela, a Love Story . Not to mention Lee single-handedly sending the internet into meltdown by posting an unsolicited dick pick on Insta last year.

The band has recently been touring the world supported by fellow rock legends such as Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Joan Jett and Poison.

Fingers crossed their yet-to-be-announced Australian reunion tour dates will be similarly icon-stacked.

The only caveat is that OG guitarist Mick Mars will likely not be joining in the fun, after recently announcing his retirement for touring due to health reasons. Instead, Rob Zombie guitarist and all-around shredlord John 5  has been tapped to fill in on lead axe for Crüe’s recent shows, meaning he’ll likely be making the trek down under with them for their hypothetical Australian tour dates later this year.

We’ll bring you more info as it develops…

News: Motley Crue Announce Aussie Dates For ‘The Final Tour’

motley crue tour dates australia

(AUS) Legendary rock icons Mötley Crüe have, at last, confirmed dates for the highly anticipated Australian leg of their Final Tour, bringing along shock-rocker Alice Cooper as very special guest.

The Final Tour marks the end of an era for the band. In January 2014, all four original members gathered to sign a binding ‘Cessation Of Touring’ agreement taking effect at the end of 2015 before a press conference in their hometown of Los Angeles and announcing the global two-year Final Tour. A year later, on January 20, 2015 in New York City, the band announced Mötley Crüe’s highly anticipated final live performance of the band to take place at LA’s Staples Centre on New Year’s Eve 2015. The 2014 portion of ‘The Final Tour’ was one of last year’s top grossing US tours, selling close to a million tickets across 72 cities and grossing more than $45 million USD.

Australian fans had better brace themselves; the mighty Crüe are bringing their full production with them, including the ground breaking Crüecifly drum coaster, fire spitting bass, over the top pyrotechnics, that have made ‘The Final Tour’ such a wildly successful, memorable experience for hundreds of thousands across the world.

Bassist, Nikki Sixx says of the band’s visit, “We can’t wait to celebrate 34 years of Mötley Crüe with our Australian fans and come over there one last time. We always have an amazing time in Australia and we’re not holding back either… we are bringing along our full production including the Crüecifly drum coaster, as well as the pyro and every other bell and whistle.”

Ensuring they farewell Australia in epic style, the inimitable Alice Cooper will accompany Mötley Crüe on all Australian dates as very special guest. The Hall Of Fame inductee continues to connect with Australian audiences via his broadly acclaimed radio show Nights With Alice Cooper, which airs on a variety of rock networks Australia-wide.

Thirty-four years into one of the most tumultuous and staggeringly successful careers in the history of rock music, Mötley Crüe continue to command unwavering allegiance from fans of all ages. The classic line-up of Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars still packs a powerful punch and they’re ready to remind Australian audiences why Mötley Crüe will go down in history as one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

Coinciding with the announcement of the final dates and the theme of the Final Tour, the band also released its new single ‘All Bad Things’, which is available for sale digitally here. The single is accompanied by a video clip of highlights spanning the 34-year career of Mötley Crüe.

This is the fourth time I've seen the Crüe, and the second time at MSG. Even though I also saw them on tour with Aerosmith, and saw a show during one of their residencies at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, this Final Tour show lives up to expectations. Vince even learned most of the words to the songs!! (Anyone who has seen Mötley Crüe live before will know that this is kind of a big deal. At previous shows I’ve attended, the audience sang nearly as much as Vince did.)

Nikki Sixx is my favorite member of Mötley Crüe, and he was in top form at this show, and even had a fire-shooting attachment on his bass for "Shout at the Devil." He also regaled the audience with the long story of how he moved to LA and pulled the band together. Even though I already knew the story from reading The Dirt, it was still great to hear Nikki tell it live, in his own words. While that little interlude brought the energy level down a bit, it did a nice job of bringing the night full circle and truly encapsulating all 33 years of the band's life.

Tommy Lee's drum roller coaster contraption was totally insane, spanning the length of the arena floor, and allowing Tommy’s drum kit to do 360 degree spins as it travelled along the track. The guys played a solid two hour set and definitely went out with a bang (literally - there was a ton of pyro during closing number "Kickstart My Heart," including Nikki’s afore mentioned fire-shooting bass).

The strongest testament to this show is that the next day I had to go online to check the rest of their tour dates to find out if I could possibly see another show on the tour (sadly, no other cities convenient to me remain), and a full 24 hours later I was still buzzing with energy.

However, to paraphrase Nikki, this show/tour isn't "goodbye" because the Crüe's music isn’t going anywhere – it’s going to be around to haunt us until the day that we die.
