You will meet your friendly shore excursion guide at your cruise ship terminal and hop on board your air-conditioned, comfortable transportation. Enjoy the scenic ride as you head to the very East end of Grand Bahama Island. As you arrive at the pier, you will be introduced to your captain and snorkeling guide. They will provide safety instructions and also go over the do and don't while snorkeling.

The first part of your Freeport shore excursion will be snorkeling over the blue holes of Eastern Grand Bahama. These caverns are all connected beneath the earth, which causes them to have abundant marine life. As the tide rises and falls it appears that the blue holes are boiling; therefore got nicknamed "boiling holes" by locals. The waters near the reef are pretty shallow and in some areas, you are able to stand and watch down in the water and marvel at the beautiful marine life. You will see wildlife, like the black tip shark, spotted eagle rays, sting rays, starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and conch. If you are in luck, you might even see a wild spotted dolphin.

Up next on your Freeport excursion is the turtle park where you will be able to see the hawksbill turtle, loggerhead turtle, and maybe even the green turtle. See the turtles in their natural environment, darting their heads up and down to see who is visiting them. Some of the turtles will get close enough for you to see them and take pictures. Last up is a stop at Sweetings Cay for a light snack and refreshments. During your 2.5 hour excursion, you’ll be taken by boat from Port Lucaya out to an area of beautiful coral gardens that line Grand Bahama Island where you can explore the colorful reefs that are loaded with lively tropical fish and marine life.  Angelfish, Butterfly Fish, Tang, Eagle and Manta Rays, Barracuda, Nassau Grouper, and many more species can be expected to be seen around the corals in our area at any given time.  There’s also a certified scuba dive master on board to provide any necessary instructions for snorkeling to help ensure that your snorkeling time is enjoyable and safe.   After the snorkeling time has ended, it’s time to head back and meet your new dolphin friend!  In the dolphin experience, you’ll be introduced to the staff and one of our trained Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins.  The trainers will explain facts about the history of our facility and provide knowledge about the anatomy and behavior of these amazing mammals.  It’s then time for the real show of ability when your trainer sends the dolphin into action!  Our professional photographer will be on hand to catch the dolphin walking on water past you or posing in front of you, or maybe in mid-air as the dolphins love to flip and fly across the pool.  We also invite you to pet the dolphin as it swims by so you can feel just how smooth these guys really are.

Some of the blue holes are freshwater, meaning you won’t see the same type of marine life that you would out in the ocean.
