Tom Cruise Talks About His Father

Tom Cruise is talking about what has long been known to be a sore subject.

In an interview with Parade magazine, the 43-year-old actor looks back on two difficult aspects of his early years: his father and bullies at school.

Cruise says his father, Thomas Cruise Mapother III, "was a bully and a coward... the kind of person where, if something goes wrong, they kick you. It was a great lesson in my life - how he'd lull you in, make you feel safe and then, bang!"

"For me," Cruise told Parade, it was like, "'There's something wrong with this guy. Don't trust him. Be careful around him.' There's that anxiety."

The 5'7" star of the upcoming film, "Mission: Impossible III," also says he was harassed by his classmates while he was growing up.

"So many times the big bully comes up, pushes me," he recalled. "Your heart's pounding, you sweat, and you feel like you're going to vomit ... I don't like bullies."

When Cruise was 12, his mother, Mary Lee, left his father and took Cruise and his sister, Lee Anne, with her, the magazine says. His parents divorced in 1974.

Cruise says he reunited with his father ten years later, when Mapother was "in the hospital dying of cancer, and he would only meet me on the basis that I didn't ask him anything about the past."

"When I saw him in pain, I thought, 'Wow, what a lonely life,"' Cruise says. "He was in his late 40s. It was sad."

Cruise has made a point of staying close to others in his immediate family, including his mother, and one of his three sisters, Lee Anne DeVette, is publicist for both Cruise and his 27-year-old fiancée, Katie Holmes.

Holmes is in the final stages of pregnancy with a baby whose gender has not been revealed – although she and Cruise very likely know the answer to that one. It was widely reported months ago that the excited expectant dad bought an ultrasound machine so he and Holmes could take as many photos as they wanted – at home.

The baby is the first for Holmes and a third child for Cruise, who has two other children from the over ten years that he was married to actress Nicole Kidman.

They split up nearly five years ago but that doesn't mean Cruise is out of the picture when it comes to the kids.

He's on call as dad and four years ago, caught the attention of the evening gown set when he ducked out early from the Academy Awards ceremony, headed home for his turn with the children.

Cruise is similarly focused on the impending arrival of the new baby and recently told interviewers in Germany that he had two pilots standing by, ready to fly him home, if Holmes happened to go into labor.

The two are engaged but haven't yet tied the knot.

They plan to marry this year, Cruise said, in an interview with the German tabloid Bild, after the opening and the promotions for his latest movie, "Mission Impossible III."

Despite being a major movie star Tom has managed to keep his private life quiet over the years.

The Top Gun actor's marriage to Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes made him a dad to Bella Cruise , Connor Cruise and Suri Cruise.

How many kids does Tom Cruise have?

Tom has three kids!

He shares two adopted children with Kidman, daughter Bella, now 28, and son Connor, now 26. The pair divorced in 2001.

The actor was then married to Holmes between 2006 and 2012. The pair welcomed their biological daughter Suri Cruise, who is now 15.

Does Tom Cruise see his children?

It's hard to know exactly how often Tom sees his children, but he appears to have maintained a closer relationship with Bella and Connor.

They are both dedicated Scientologists like their father.

In 2016, Bella told The Daily Mail that she is still in regular communication with her parents.

"Of course we talk, they're my parents", adding, anyone who claims they don't is "full of s--t".

Connor was most recently seen with Tom during an outing in London in 2019.

"Tom and Connor stepping out together in London was a big deal," a source told People at the time. When Kidman married the Hollywood star, she was excited about the prospect of being a mother.

Sadly, she endured an ectopic pregnancy and lost her first child during her marriage to Tom. The experience influenced her decision to ultimately adopt.

"From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies," Kidman previously told Marie Claire in 2007. "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic."

The pair tried to have a baby again, but Kidman suffered a miscarriage in 2001. Tom filed for divorce that same year.

It's been widely speculation that Kidman doesn't see her adopted kids that often. Their devotion to the Church of Scientology is believed to be the reason she keeps a distance.

The Big Little Lies actress has spoken about her relationship with them on a handful of occasions.

In 2018, she opened up about her adopted kids' choice to be Scientologists.

"They are adults," Kidman said in an interview with WHO magazine. "They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, and it's my job to love them. And I am an example of that tolerance and that's what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I'm open here."

Meanwhile, Connor told Woman's Day in 2014, "I love my mum. I don't care what people say. I know that me and mum are solid. I love her a lot".

Kidman went on to marry country singer Keith Urban in 2006. The couple are the parents to two daughters: Sunday, 12, and Faith, 10.

Who Is Tom Cruise?

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, better known as Tom Cruise, was born on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, to Mary and Thomas Mapother. Cruise's mother was an amateur actress and schoolteacher, and his father was an electrical engineer. His family moved around a great deal when Cruise was a child to accommodate his father's career.

Cruise's parents divorced when he was 11, and the children moved with their mother to Louisville, Kentucky, and then to Glen Ridge, New Jersey, after she remarried. Like his mother and three sisters, Cruise suffered from dyslexia, which made academic success difficult for him. He excelled in athletics, however, and considered pursuing a career in professional wrestling until a knee injury sidelined him during high school.

At age 14, Cruise enrolled in a Franciscan seminary with thoughts of becoming a priest, but he left after a year. When he was 16, a teacher encouraged him to participate in the school's production of the musical Guys and Dolls . 'Taps,' 'The Outsiders'

Cruise set a 10-year deadline for himself in which to build an acting career. He left school and moved to New York City, struggling through audition after audition before landing an appearance in 1981's Endless Love , starring Brooke Shields. Around this same time, he snagged a small role in the military school drama Taps (1981), co-starring Sean Penn .

His role in Taps was upgraded after director Harold Becker saw Cruise's potential, and his performance caught the attention of a number of critics and filmmakers. In 1983, Cruise appeared in Francis Ford Coppola 's The Outsiders , which also starred Emilio Estevez , Matt Dillon and Rob Lowe —all prominent members of a group of young actors the entertainment press dubbed the "Brat Pack." The film was not well received, but it allowed Cruise to work with an acclaimed director on a high-profile project.

'Risky Business'

His next film, Risky Business (1983), grossed $65 million. It also made Cruise a highly recognizable actor — thanks in no small part to a memorable scene of the young star dancing in his underwear.

In 1986, after a two-year hiatus, the budding actor released the big-budget fantasy film Legend , which did poorly at the box office. That same year, however, Cruise's A-list status was confirmed with the release of Top Gun , which co-starred Kelly McGillis, Anthony Edwards and Meg Ryan . The testosterone-fueled action-romance, set against the backdrop of an elite naval flight school, became the highest-grossing film of 1986.

'The Color of Money,' 'Rain Man' and 'Born on the Fourth of July'

Cruise followed the tremendous success of Top Gun with a string of both critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. He first starred in The Color of Money (1986) with co-star Paul Newman , and then went on to work with Dustin Hoffman on Rain Man (1988). Cruise's next role, as Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic in the biopic Born on the Fourth of July (1989), earned him an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe for Best Actor.

'A Few Good Men,' 'The Firm' and 'Interview with a Vampire'

In 1992, Cruise proved once more that he could hold his own opposite a screen legend when he co-starred with Jack Nicholson in the military courtroom drama A Few Good Men . The film grossed more than $15 million its first weekend and earned Cruise a Golden Globe nomination. He continued to demonstrate his success as a leading man with The Firm (1993) and Interview with a Vampire (1994), which co-starred Brad Pitt.

'Mission: Impossible,' 'Jerry McGuire'

Next, Cruise hit the big screen with two huge hits—the $64 million blockbuster Mission: Impossible (1996), which the star also produced, and the highly acclaimed Jerry McGuire (1996), directed by Cameron Crowe. For the latter, Cruise earned a second Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe for Best Actor.

'Eyes Wide Shut,' 'Magnolia'

Cruise and then-wife Kidman spent much of 1997 and 1998 in England shooting Eyes Wide Shut , an erotic thriller that would be director Stanley Kubrick 's final film. The movie came out in the summer of 1999 to mixed reviews, but that year Cruise enjoyed greater success with the release of Magnolia . His performance as a self-confident sex guru in the ensemble film earned him another Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

'Vanilla Sky,' 'The Last Samurai'

Cruise then starred in the long-awaited smash hit Mission: Impossible 2 in 2000, alongside Anthony Hopkins , Thandie Newton and Ving Rhames. In 2002, he starred in Vanilla Sky , his second collaboration with Crowe, as well as Steven Spielberg 's Minority Report . The following year, Cruise traveled to Australia to shoot the $100 million war epic The Last Samurai, which earned him another Golden Globe nomination.

'War of the Worlds'

Cruise proved he remained a top draw by starring in the Spielberg-directed remake of the science-fiction classic War of the Worlds (2005), which grossed more than $230 million at the box office.

His next effort, Mission: Impossible 3 (2006), also scored well with audiences. However, Cruise was faced with a professional setback in August when Paramount Pictures ended its 14-year relationship with the actor. In 1984 Thomas Cruise Mapother III passed away from cancer. He taught his son, how important it was to be a good parent. Tom Cruise felt sorry for his dad, who had spent a lot of time alone and was so miserable during the last days of his life.

Tom Cruise Stepfather Was a Smart Man

Having divorced, Mary Lee Pfeiffer took her son Tom Cruise and her daughter Lee Anne to Louisville, Kentucky. The family lived in a small house and was very poor, nevertheless Tom felt quite happy. While on an August 2022 fishing trip with friends, Connor showed off his catch – a massive fish he hauled in from the ocean. In his most recent post, Connor revealed that he and his fishing buddies donated a large portion of their catch — “108 pounds of grouper” to be exact — to a charity. “I know it was tough to fit that in the truck but glad the fish was able to go and help those in need of it!!,” he wrote. Overall, Connor is enjoying a life of fishing, grilling, and living in the great outdoors.

Suri Cruise

Following his 2001 divorce from Nicole, Tom went on to marry Katie Holmes in 2006. They welcomed their only biological child, a daughter named Suri, that same year on April 18. Suri made her magazine debut on the October 2006 cover of Vanity Fair with her then-married parents. The accompanying photoshoot showed the family smiling while cuddled up together. Unfortunately, the trio didn’t have a happily ever after. Tom and Katie eventually divorced in 2012, and the actor has rarely been seen out with his daughter since the split. Believe it or not, one of their last photographs together was at Disneyland on January 25, 2012.

Tom and Connor Cruise made a father-son appearance in London over the weekend.

The actor and his 24-year-old son, whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman , were photographed as they approached a private helicopter.

The 57-year-old was dressed in a navy hoodie and jeans as he waved and smiled at fans in the distance, while Connor wore a charcoal-gray sweatshirt with jeans and walked a few steps behind his famous dad.

According to People , Tom, who learned to fly a chopper (and to take a stroll at 5,000 feet ) for his work in the “Mission Impossible” franchise, took Connor along to show him “some aviation basics.”

The action star is a father of three, but isn't often photographed alongside his children.

He and Kidman adopted Connor and their 26-year-old daughter, Bella, during their decade-long marriage. Both of their adult children, who are Scientologists like their father, appreciate their privacy despite their parents’ high-profile lifestyles.

And both stars seem to respect that.

Just last year, Kidman told Australia’s Who magazine that she’s “very private” where Bella and Connor are concerned , adding that she has “to protect all those relationships.”

And while she doesn’t share their affiliation with the controversial Church of Scientology , she supports their choices.

"They are able to make their own decisions," she told Who. "They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them. Tom missed Suri’s birthday as he was in England filming scenes for the seventh film in the Mission: Impossible franchise alongside co-star and rumored girlfriend Hayley Atwell . The duo were spotted shooting at a railway in Pickering, North Yorkshire at the time. This comes months after reports first claimed that filming on Mission: Impossible  7  had wrapped in December 2020 following Tom’s now-infamous rant on the M:I7  set, where he berated staffers for breaking social distancing protocols.

While it’s unknown if Tom was in communication with her daughter on her birthday, one source tells HollywoodLife that the actor “still loves” Suri, before hinting at the state of their relationship. “Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter when he decided to have a family with Katie and looks forward to repairing the relationship one day,” the insider told the site on Tuesday, April 20. Suri is Tom’s youngest child, and the actor also has two children from his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman, whom he divorced in 2001 after 11 years of marriage. The exes share son Connor, 26, and daughter Isabella, 28.

Suri Cruise is counting down the days until adulthood, as the teenager turns 18 on April 18. Katie Holmes ' mini-me will no doubt have a day to remember with her mom and friends in New York City, where she has grown up since childhood. 

However, the 17-year-old's life has changed quite a lot over the years, as her early years were very different to the laidback lifestyle she is experiencing today. 

Born in Santa Monica, California, Suri grew up in Hollywood in an impressive $40M Beverly Hills mansion with her dad Tom Cruise and mom Katie, complete with a swimming pool, children's playground and guest houses. 

They lived there until Katie and Tom's separation in 2012. The then-couple also nested in a beautiful $59M house in Colorado, which had everything from a private trail system, ice hockey rink and a library.

What's more, Suri was also in the spotlight with her parents regularly, with her mom even coming to her defense back in 2009 when the then three-year-old was pictured on a number of occasions wearing heels. 

At the time, Katie told Access Hollywood: "Like every little girl, she loves my high heels. They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them."

Since Katie and Tom's split, which has since resulted in the Mission Impossible actor becoming estranged from his daughter, Suri has grown up for the majority of her childhood in New York City. 

The cosmopolitan city has everything available to eat, buy and do, and Suri will have enjoyed having an exciting but down-to-earth lifestyle as a result. 

Celebrities love NYC because they can enjoy a sense of anonymity, and Katie has certainly ensured that's been the case for her daughter. The proud mom doesn't share pictures of Suri on social media anymore, but has occasionally opened up about how proud she is of her only child. It's clear that Suri has developed her parents' talents for performing, and showcased her incredible singing voice back in 2022. 

Suri was heard singing the opening credits of Katie's film, Alone Together, when she was just 15. She sang a pitch-perfect rendition of Blue Moon, and her mom was more than proud. 

Chatting to Yahoo! Entertainment about her daughter's role in the movie, she said: "She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it and I let her do her thing. "That's the way I direct in general: It's like, 'This is what I think we all want - go do your thing'." 

The mom-of-one was asked why she chose Suri for the job and she said: "I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her." Suri is incredibly creative and these skills have been encouraged by her mom. Katie previously revealed that the pair enjoyed many crafty hobbies during the height of the pandemic during lockdown. "I painted, we had a sewing machine, so we were making quilts, we were cooking; we were on a perpetual vacation," Katie told the sophomore issue of Amazing magazine. 

"We were also on a lake and there was a hammock, so I would wake up, sew, have coffee, take a nap on the hammock [laughs]… Oh and, by the way, I have to throw this in; we were staying by a lake, so we probably watched Dirty Dancing ten times. Let me tell you, I danced to it in the living room, and it still holds up. It was fun."

Much of Tom Cruise's private life is shielded by his status as a high-ranking Scientologist, but fans know that he has been married a total of three times and is the father of three children. His two eldest, Isabella and Connor, were adopted by him and his then-wife, Nicole Kidman, during the course of their decade-long marriage. The couple, who met on the set of "Days of Thunder," was married shortly after the movie came out in 1990 and began to build their family (per StyleCaster ). Kidman and Cruise raised the children together until their divorce in 2001.

Cruise, who has dated several high-profile women — including actress Penélope Cruz and pop star Cher — would eventually date "Dawson's Creek" star Katie Holmes and share his rabid enthusiasm for her on " The Oprah Winfrey Show ." The star famously jumped up and down on the sofa next to Winfrey in an ecstatic display that was destined to be endlessly parodied. Finally settling next to Winfrey, he declared, "I'm in love. I'm in love and it's one of those things where it's like, you know, you wanna be cool. I was like, 'Yeah, I like her, you know. She's cool.' That's not me. That's not how I feel." TomKat, as they were referred to by the media, married in 2006 and had daughter Suri together before Holmes reportedly blindsided Cruise  with divorce proceedings in 2012. Bella is an artist who sells her work online

Isabella Jane Cruise — or Bella Kidman Cruise , as she is currently known — was born on Dec. 22, 1992 in Miami, Florida. The  Daily Mail reported that she was the third child of a fellow Scientologist who was married with two children but unable to support another. After making a connection with the superstar couple through the church, Bella was adopted by Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman , who would divorce by the time she was 8 years old.

In a 1999 interview, Cruise talked about what his children might do in the future. "I don't know if Bella will be an actress. Right now, she says she wants to be a bear when she grows up. Connor wants to be a pilot, and I've been taking him up with me in my plane since his second birthday" (via the Daily Mail). 

Both children have largely stayed out of the limelight, particularly since becoming adults. Bella, who is nearly 30 years old as of this writing, is an artist who has an Instagram account dedicated primarily to her creative pursuits. Recently, she made a rare public appearance hosted by rocker Courtney Love to celebrate 30 years since the release of Hole's album, "Pretty On The Inside." Bella was photographed next to a piece of her own artwork that was on display at the event. On her  website , she sells tote bags, T-shirts, pins, and prints of her original work.

Bella lives a modest lifestyle in England with her husband

"She's very mysterious. I don't know why she's chosen Croydon, poor child," is how one of her neighbors characterized the very private life of Bella Kidman Cruise since she moved to the U.K. city in 2017 (per the  Mirror UK ). Despite having parents who are worth hundreds of millions of dollars, Kidman Cruise lives a quiet and unassuming life (reportedly without their financial support) in the London suburb with her husband, Max Parker, an IT consultant. "Bella lives just outside London. You know, she really feels more English. We lived there for 'Eyes Wide Shut,' 'Mission Impossible,' and 'The Portrait of a Lady,'" Nicole Kidman told Vanity Fair in 2019. "They both had English accents when they were little."

Kidman Cruise and Parker married in September 2015 in a ceremony that wasn't attended by the groom's or the bride's parents. "We didn't go, but we knew all about it. We stayed away; we didn't want the media circus," Parker's mother told the Daily Mail when asked why she and her husband weren't present at the event. As for the bride's mother, who was in London at the time of the nuptials, Kidman Cruise told the outlet that their relationship was fine despite her absence. Tom Cruise's no-show was blamed on his work schedule. 

Parker, who takes public transportation to work, said shortly after their marriage, "I'm still a regular guy." Regarding her husband, Kidman Cruise said, "I'm very lucky."

Bella reportedly has a tumultuous relationship with her mom

Despite Bella Kidman Cruise's recent inclusion of her mother's last name into her own name, and her  recently liking some of her mom's Instagram posts, the status of their relationship is still largely a mystery. Shortly after her marriage to Max Parker, Kidman Cruise told the  Daily Mail , "Of course [we talk], they're my parents. ... Anyone who says otherwise is full of s**t." Life & Style also reported that the rift between the two was on the mend as of 2018, when a source told them, "Nicole is thrilled that Bella has paid tribute to her by naming her clothing line BKC. She's supportive of Bella's career move and really excited for her!"

RadarOnline , however, reported as recently as 2019 that Kidman's relationships with her eldest children suffered when they chose to follow their father into Scientology. "They have made choices to be Scientologists. It's our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love," said the Oscar-winning actress. In her book, "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," actress and former Scientologist Leah Remini describes an interaction that occurred in 2006 between her and Kidman Cruise after Tom Cruise's marriage to Katie Holmes. Remini says she asked Kidman Cruise if she had seen her mother lately and was told that, "Our mother is a f*****g SP," which in Scientology speak means "suppressive person," someone the church demands be cut from the member's life (per Vogue ).

In 2010, Nicole Kidman spoke about her eldest children to Hello! Magazine (via  Vogue ), saying "they live with Tom, which was their choice. I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?" With their father as the custodial parent, both children deepened their ties to his controversial religion and are active members of the church. 

The Underground Bunker , which reports regularly on Scientology's inner workings, published a 2019 email featuring Bella Kidman Cruise's own words. She said, in part, "We all need to do this. It's hard work. It's a lot of effort. It's a few meltdowns and running to the bathroom to have a mini episode, but it is worth everything because you will get through. This is a gift to yourself and so many others." According to a former member, the email likely indicates that Kidman Cruise is now a qualified auditor in the organization. According to the Scientology website , the goal of auditing is to "restore beingness and ability."

"Like Tom, they've become Scientology royalty," a source recently told OK! Magazine  of the two children.  Connor Cruise also lives a very private life and has reportedly been punished by the organization in the past for partaking in forbidden activities, like drinking and vaping. Currently, he resides in Clearwater, Florida, home of the church's global headquarters. According to a former member, he is being groomed to become a "perfect Scientologist" (per RadarOnline ).

Connor tried his hand at acting and being a DJ

Young Connor Cruise pursued a few different career paths before settling into his current culinary-related interests (per Hollywood Life ). As a child, he acted in a couple of films, including "Seven Pounds," which starred Will Smith, and the 2012 remake of "Red Dawn." He also honed and demonstrated his DJ skills at various events over the next several years, including appearances at the Electric Festival in Aruba, where he can be seen performing in front of a huge audience . As one insider put it, "Spinning records made him feel like part of the crowd without giving away too much of himself, but now his focus is on food" (per OK! Magazine ).

During his stint as a DJ, Cruise also performed at events like Electric Adventure Beach Weekend in New Jersey, a Verse Us event in Miami, and international gigs in Australia, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. He has regularly promoted his upcoming appearances on his Instagram account , but recent posts seem to indicate that his interests have shifted. 

Connor's romantic life is a mystery

Though much of Connor Cruise's romantic life remains steeped in mystery, he reportedly dated a woman named Phylicia Bugna in 2017, who was billed as his first serious girlfriend (per Woman's Day ). A source told the outlet at the time, "Tom and Nicole aren't thrilled about Phylicia's sexy pics on social media or her patchy driving record, but they trust Connor's judgment. Despite his club-hopping and smoking habit, he has a good head on his shoulders." The pair was said to have shared a mutual love of fishing and enjoyed several dates that incorporated the activity.

Since then, it has been speculated that Cruise married a woman by the name of Sylvia Zanchi in 2019. Zanchi, whose presence on the internet and social media is virtually nonexistent, is said to be a second-generation Scientologist who moved from Bergamo, Italy to Florida, where she met Connor. According to Magzter.com , the couple was seen together quite often at the church-owned Sandcastle Hotel, where Connor lived at one point. One local resident even reported having seen an engagement ring on Zanchi's finger.

Connor is passionate about deep-sea fishing

Though Connor Cruise reportedly still has a passion for music, his Instagram feed  is currently focused on his love of deep-sea fishing. "Connor lives in Clearwater, which is the church's main hub. He still DJs, but he has really become a big fishing guy. He's content with living a quieter life," a source recently revealed to Page Six .

Indeed, a scroll through Cruise's grid shows him posing with a huge variety of deep-sea catches, including a grouper, a yellowfin, and an amberjack, to name just a few. Recently, he posted about enjoying a birthday trip to Costa Rica, where he did some fishing with friends and marked the occasion by holding up a huge yellowfin tuna (via " Today "). His posts also indicate that he participates in various fishing competitions. Cruise receives a lot of flak in the comments for his chosen hobby, but one recent post highlights his team's performance and its subsequent donation of 300 pounds of fresh fish to an organization that works to combat food insecurity.

Tom Cruise's son has become a food influencer

Connor Cruise has recently expanded his social media presence to showcase his love of all things meat-related. The aspiring food influencer announced on his original Instagram account that he was launching a second account dedicated to his love of grilling. "After many friends telling me, I have finally decided to start a food IG @connorsmeatshack with my bestie @kimj526. Give it a follow if you like backyard steaks, bourbon, chicken, or really whatever we are feeling like that day," he posted.

Cruise began posting on @connorsmeatshack in 2021. The content consists largely of close-ups and short videos of him in what appears to be a backyard location cooking on a Traeger pellet grill, a black charcoal Weber grill, and a large black griddle (per Hollywood Life ). One  video shows Cruise cooking a ribeye steak over charcoal with a caption that says, "Internal temp is dealers [sic] choice, but we aim for 120-122 post rest! (Don't you DARE say well done!)."

Suri Cruise is estranged from her father

Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes in November 2006 after what appeared to be a whirlwind romance. Suri Cruise, who was born in April of that same year, attended her parents' wedding along with her siblings, Bella Kidman Cruise and Connor Cruise. Of his biological daughter's birth, Cruise said to Deborah Roberts on "20/20" that "it was everything that we wanted it to be ... it was spiritual. It was powerful. It was indescribable. What words can you use? It's still something that I'm processing and keep reliving" (per Sportskeeda.com ).

Like Cruise's two prior marriages, however, this one would fail as well, when Holmes reportedly blindsided him with her plan to divorce him in order to protect their daughter from Scientology (per Yahoo! ). Though Cruise denied that his daughter needed such protection, he hasn't been photographed with her since they went to Disneyland together a decade ago. An insider recently told Hollywood Life that "[he] thinks about her all the time ... Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter when he decided to have a family with Katie, and looks forward to repairing the relationship one day." A source told Us Magazine in 2018 that Cruise could see Suri, as he was given visitation rights for up to 10 days a month, but that "he chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist."

Suri seems to be following in her parents' footsteps

By all accounts, Suri Cruise has led a fairly insulated life since her parents' split. That said, she seems to be brimming with talent — at least when it comes to singing. Mom Katie Holmes recently tapped her teenage daughter to sing "Blue Moon" for the soundtrack of her film, "Alone Together," which she wrote, directed, and stars in. Cruise's version of the classic song plays over the opening credits and is clear evidence that she has some pipes. 

"I always want the highest level of talent," Holmes told Yahoo! Entertainment (via Sportskeeda ). "So I asked her! She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing. That's the way I direct in general: It's like, 'This is what I think we all want — go do your thing.'"

Cruise also lent her vocal stylings to another film helmed by Holmes called "Rare Objects," which will be released in December 2022. It remains to be seen whether Cruise will follow her parents into acting, but if her rendition of the Rodgers and Hart ballad is any indication of her talent, fans won't be surprised if she excels there as well. Until then, Holmes says, "She's a 16-year-old kid doing high school" (per ABC News ).

Suri has always been a fashionista

"My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100% herself and strong, confident, and able," Katie Holmes told InStyle in 2020 (per Style ) of her daughter, Suri Cruise . "She came out very strong — she's always been a strong personality." Already considered a style icon, Cruise has inspired several fan accounts dedicated to her fashion choices. In 2013, Us Magazine  credited the then 6-year-old for influencing several looks worn by none other than Catherine, Princess of Wales.

As a child, Cruise was known to sport fancy dresses with full skirts in bold colors and patterns. She was often seen wearing headbands or bows and carrying accessories ranging from purses to stuffed animals to dolls. The value of her wardrobe at that time (per SheKnows ) was a staggering $3.2 million. As she became a tween, Hola!  pointed out that she had adopted a version of her mom's style. Having recently turned 16, the teenager is often seen on the streets of New York rocking everything from a strapless sundress and vintage bag to jeans and a T-shirt.

Suri used to have relationships with her siblings

While Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' marriage was still intact, Tom Cruise's three children were occasionally seen together at events with their father and Holmes. Even just prior to their split in 2012, Suri and her half-brother Connor were photographed together in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as their father prepared to shoot his film, "Oblivion." That outing, however, appears to be one of the last times that Suri spent with either of her elder siblings.

Despite the fact that there is no real evidence to support an ongoing relationship between the sisters, an Australian tabloid called "New Idea" recently reported that Suri desperately wished to reunite with Bella Cruise Kidman (via  Mickey.com ). They quoted a source as saying, "Suri talks endlessly about wanting to move to London when she's 18. Katie suspects that while Suri would never admit this for fear of hurting her, she actually wants to go over there to reunite with Bella. ... It makes sense that Suri is curious to get to know Bella again. Katie would never stop her. She doesn't have anything against Bella."

Suri's life is very different without the influence of Scientology

The early years of Suri Cruise's life included being photographed regularly by the paparazzi whenever she was out with her famous parents, but that all changed after her mom, Katie Holmes, divorced her father, Tom Cruise , and they went to live a more private life in New York (per Style ). 

Apparently alarmed at what Scientology had in store for her daughter as she grew older, Holmes sprung the divorce on Cruise. The two were said to be at odds over Suri's imminent attendance at the New Village Leadership Academy, which was founded by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith (per the  Independent ). The school, which claimed to be secular, was, according to ex-teachers, exactly the opposite. "There's no question about it, the New Village Leadership Academy was a Scientology school," said Dr. Mariappan Jawaharlal, who taught there from 2008 to 2010 (per The U.S. Sun ).

Since their move to New York, it has been reported that Holmes enrolled her daughter in Avenues The World School, where she wears a school uniform and is afforded no special treatment despite her family's status. According to E! News , the school offers a well-rounded curriculum that includes language immersion and courses in humanities, literacy, math, sciences, arts, and physical education.

Tom Cruise breaks up with his partner after her ex-husband warned him that she "had expensive and luxurious tastes"

The actor has made the decision after the interview.

A few months ago, Tom Cruise began a relationship with Elsina Khayrova . The young Russian woman is dedicated to the world of modeling, aesthetics and image and had previously been married to a Russian tycoon, Dmitry Tsvetkov .

He had already 'warned' the actor in the past about the tastes of his ex-wife and mother of two children: "You have to be aware that Elsina likes the good things in life and has expensive tastes".

Moreover, he did not hesitate to advise him to keep "his eyes wide open and also, his wallet." Tsvetkov went so far as to claim that "in 11 years of marriage, Khayrova spent more than 10 million euros on clothes and handbags".

With the passage of time, it seems that these words have taken their toll on Cruise who ended up making the decision to end his relationship with the Russian model. The media outlet Pagesix now claims that the reason was to avoid problems with her ex-husband.

Tom Cruise does not want distractions in his work

A person of the actor's trusted team has assured the aforementioned media that the reasons for his breakup had little to do with his understanding with Khayrova and more to do with the whole context surrounding the couple after the words of her ex-husband.

" Cruise is filming and he can't be shooting a movie and have her ex-husband say things every time he's mentioned in the press," explains a source close to the man who plays Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible.

In his next statement he is even more direct and makes clear what has been the main reason for his breakup with the Russian model.

"They just didn't want to deal with the ex-husband saying something nasty every few weeks," he says.

Cruise only has eyes for acting and that's the only way he has managed to stay on top for so many years.

Tom Cruise’s Sisters Basically Look Like the Actor’s Twins (It’s Freaky…)

Ok, it’s time to get real about Tom Cruise ‘s sisters …

The 54-year-old actor has three siblings, Lee Ann Mapother DeVette, Marian Mapother Henry, and Cass Mapother — and they basically all look like Tom’s twin!

Let’s take a step back in time to learn a bit more about Tom’s family, shall we? The future-actor was born Thomas Cruise Mapother IV on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, NY. His parents, Mary Lee Mapother South and Thomas Cruise Mapother III, worked as a special education teacher and an electrical engineer, respectively.

Mary Lee and Thomas welcomed their first child, daughter Lee Ann, in 1959. Two years later, the couple had daughter Marian. Tom’s younger sister, Cass, was later born around 1964.

Tom and his three sisters unfortunately grew up in near-poverty and their father was abusive. The siblings — who were raised Catholic — later moved to Canada before their parents split in the mid-1970s.

In a 2016 interview, Tom’s first-ever girlfriend opened up about his close relationship with his siblings. “I think he grew up too fast but he was very close with his three sisters. A year later, however, Lee Ann was replaced by veteran celebrity rep Paul Bloch . Starting in 2005, Tom’s sister instead worked for the actor’s production company.

Earlier this year, the Mapother siblings’ mother, Mary Lee, sadly died peacefully in her sleep at age 80 in February 2017 . Tom and his three sisters all subsequently attended a memorial service for Mary Lee at her local Church of Scientology.

American actor and producer Tom Cruise has three siblings, Lee Ann Mapother DeVette, Marian Mapother Henry, and Cass Mapother.

In the early 2000s, Lee Ann worked as a public relations manager for her brother Tom, but after almost two years of working together, Tom fired his sister from the position.

Even though Lee Ann’s brother fired her as his publicist, the actor assigned her to handle his charity work. She was also on the set of the sci-fi/action film Minority Report in 2002. Her brother had a starring role in the film, and she worked as an extra as his assistant.

Tom Cruise and his girlfriend, Elsina Khayrova , have called it quits shortly after debuting their romance.

“They weren’t gelling and realized they weren’t romantically compatible,” a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly , on stands now.

According to the insider, Khayrova, 36, was the one to put an end to the their relationship. “There’s no bad blood between them,” the source tells Us . “They just had different ideas of what their relationship was going to be.”

The actor, 61, and the Russian socialite, 36, were first spotted cozying up to each other at a December 2023 party in London’s Grosvenor Square, though a source exclusively told Us  at the time that the pair had been dating for “a while.”

“They’re very happy,” the insider added. “And Tom’s extremely confident about it working out for the long term. … They’ve hung out at Tom’s favorite private members club and regularly enjoy afternoon tea and gourmet dinners out in London.”

Cruise’s eldest children, Isabella, 31, and Connor, 29 — whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman — thought Khayrova was “great and [were] so happy to see that their dad [had] love in his life again,” the insider noted, revealing that Cruise was waiting to pursue a romance once he found the right person. “He wanted to take his time and not rush into any relationships just for the sake of it.”

As for Khayrova, she was “very supportive of Tom and his work” and knew that he had “a lot of demands and obligations” on his plate.

Tom Cruise split from his Russian socialite girlfriend in order to avoid issues with her outspoken oligarch ex, a source tells Page Six.

Following news that Cruise and Elsina Khayrova were dating , her ex-husband — the colorful international diamond trader, Dmitry Tsvetkov — gave a long interview to the Daily Mail detailing their marriage and warning Cruise to “keep his eyes and wallet wide open.” 

A source tells us that the article worried the very private star’s team.

“He’s filming and can’t be shooting and have her husband saying stuff every time he is mentioned in the press,” a source told us. “They just didn’t want to deal with the ex husband coming up with something nasty to say every few weeks.” 

Tsetkov — who reportedly prefers the term “tycoon” over oligarch — also somewhat unusually continuously fanned over Cruise during the interview, calling him his “favorite actor,” stating he has seen “Eyes Wide Shut” a whopping 30 times (and also loves “Rain Man” and “The Firm”), and added that he talked with a Hollywood producer pal about having Cruise play him in a movie about his life.

“I told the producer that the only actor who could play me is Tom Cruise,” quipped Tsetkov to the UK outlet. “We’re about the same height and weight and I would be honored if that could happen. I couldn’t think of anyone better to play me than Tom. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to meet him one day to discuss this project.”

Cruise has been making headlines as he currently films his eighth “Mission: Impossible” movie. The actor, 61, who known for doing his own stunts, was most recently seen sprinting through London for a scene.

The Sun reported that Cruise and Khayrova had split in late February with a source telling the outlet, “There are no hard feelings between them and, for Tom, their relationship simply ran its course.”

The wealthy Russian socialite is the daughter of a Vladamir Putin ally, Russian politician Rinat Khayrova.

In the Daily Mail article, he also said he spent over $12 million on clothes and approximately $2.5 million on handbags for his ex during their 11 year marriage. He also claimed he lost nearly $200 million in the divorce. 

Their  split made international headlines  as millions were in dispute, including a mansion in Surrey, England, five London apartments, a Bentley and a Ferrari, plus Cartier jewelry and artwork by Renoir and Chagall.

“Irrespective of whoever she’s with, Tom Cruise or anybody else, they should be aware that she likes the finer things in life and has expensive and luxurious tastes,” he told the publication.

But we hear that Khayrova, 36, is still hopeful she and Cruise could rekindle their romance. “She didn’t do anything wrong,” says our source. 

However, she doesn’t seem to be taking the breakup too badly. She has been Instagramming from the luxe Amara hotel in Cyprus this week.

On Thursday, she posted an image on Instagram Stories of herself saying: “A woman’s energy is reflected in her daily practice of loving, appreciating, and accepting herself, as well as recognizing her own worth,” with a heart emoji.

In another, a caption read, “Always in love,” with a heart emoji.

Khayrova and Cruise were first spotted together publicly at a party in December in London’s Grosvenor Square, and Page Six exclusively reported that they had met when a friend of Khayrova’s brought her to one of his exclusive Sunday tea parties at his Hyde Park penthouse.

“He has butlers and homemade cakes, and it’s all very British,” said our source at the time.

In June 2022, Page Six  exclusively reported  that Cruise was shopping for apartments in the UK after falling in love with London.

Tom Cruise Seen Sprinting Down Street in London as He Shoots Next Mission: Impossible Movie

The eighth 'Mission: Impossible' film, which does not yet have a title, is expected in theaters May 23, 2025

Tom Cruise is showing no signs of slowing down in the next Mission: Impossible movie.

On Sunday, Cruise, 61, was seen sprinting down a street in London while filming a scene for the upcoming eighth film in his signature action franchise. The actor could be seen wearing a black suit with a white shirt opened at the top, with fake blood drenched over his chest while filming the sequence.

Cruise most recently appeared as his Mission: Impossible character Ethan Hunt in last year's Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning , which made $172 million at the  domestic box office . Dead Reckoning also earned the franchise its first-ever Academy Award nominations when it received nods for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound at the recent 96th Oscars ceremony.

A title for the upcoming eighth Mission: Impossible movie has not yet been announced. The next film was originally set for release on June 28, but production delays related to 2023's SAG-AFTRA strike forced the film to restart production in the fall and delay its release until May 23, 2025, as Deadline reported back in October.

Dead Reckoning left Cruise's character Ethan Hunt and series regulars Luther (Ving Rhames) and Benji (Simon Pegg) at odds with villain Gabriel (Esai Morales) and forging new alliances with characters like Grace (Hayley Atwell) over a battle for control over a sentient artificial intelligence.

The eighth Mission: Impossible film is just one movie among a number of projects Cruise has in development. In February, PEOPLE confirmed Cruise will star in the next movie from The Revenant filmmaker  Alejandro G. Iñárritu , while The Hollywood Reporter  reported in January that Paramount is developing Top Gun 3 as a sequel to Cruise's major 2022 success Top Gun: Maverick .

Cruise, known for his penchant for performing his own stunts, was recently seen climbing the iconic Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills on March 16 accompanied by a film crew. A representative for Cruise did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment Monday. While it's unclear what Cruise was filming on Saturday, the stunt did not appear related to the next Mission: Impossible film.

Mission: Impossible 8 is expected in theaters May 23, 2025.
