Angel Olsen confirms 2023 tour dates

Olsen is hitting the road in support of latest album big time ..

Angel Olsen will be hitting the road alongside her Big Time Band for a headline tour of North America. Olsen has confirmed plans for shows taking place through January and February. Erin Rae will open on all dates. Tickets for the newly announced shows are on sale this Friday at 10am local time. See below for venue and location details.

Olsen released Big Time in June. Last week she shared a new version of the title track featuring guest vocals from Sturgill Simpson.

Olsen drops her Forever Means EP this Friday

Angel Olsen ’s  Forever Means   EP drops this Friday, April 14th. Ahead of release day, the artist has announced the 2023 “Forever Fall North American Tour,” and also shared the project’s title track.

Olsen’s newly announced tour includes August concerts at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Forever Cemetery and New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, the latter of which will see her open for The Strokes. A full headlining run follows in October, including multiple nights at San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom, Portland’s Revolution Hall, Seattle’s Neptune Theater, and Chicago’s Thalia Hall, as well as single stops at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl, Minneapolis’ First Avenue, and more. Tickets to Olsen’s “Forever Fall North American Tour” go on sale Friday, April 14th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster . A Live Nation pre-sale begins Thursday, April 13th (using access code VINYL ).

Olsen worked on the songs from  Forever Means  while she recorded last year’s LP  Big Time ,  but “Forever Means” dates back even further to 2019, when she was coming off of that year’s  All Mirrors . Of the track, which puts the artist’s singular voice front and center atop a faraway guitar, Olsen shared, “I’d thought of it as a kind of nod to George Harrison, who I’d been getting back into during the pandemic as I was finally calming down and finding moments of peace with myself.” Listen to “Forever Means” below.

Angel Olsen has announced a 2023 North American tour in support of her latest album, Big Time . Tickets are to go on sale this Friday (Sep. 23) at 10 a.m. local time. View the full list of dates below.

Big Time came out earlier this year via Jagjaguwar. It features the songs “All the Good Times,” which was #1 on our Songs of the Week list, the album’s title track , which was also one of our Songs of the Week , and “Through the Fires,” also one of our Songs of the Week .

Last year, Olsen shared the song “Like I Used To” with Sharon Van Etten . It was #3 on our Top 130 Songs of 2021 list.

If Angel Olsen didn’t come to your city when she brought  Big Time   out on the road earlier this year, chances are she’ll be near you soon: the artist has just announced a new run of 2023 tour dates that begins in January.

Olsen’s 2023 tour specifically hits cities she has not yet played in support of her latest album, including New Orleans, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and more. The trek begins January 20th in Atlanta and wraps up February 11th in Durham, North Carolina, with Erin Rae lending support on all dates.

Earlier this year, Olsen joined Sharon Van Etten and Julien Baker for “The Wild Hearts Tour;” check out photos of one of that tour’s final shows here . In July, she performed “Big Time” on  Kimmel ,  and in August she performed “All the Good Times” on Fallon . More recently, she teamed up with Sturgill Simpson for a new version of “Big Time.”

Earlier this summer, Olsen appeared on Kyle Meredith With… , where she spoke about the time traveling dreams that influenced Big Time , as well as the Twin Peaks -meets- Twilight Zone companion short-film that also tells the story of her parents passing and her own coming out. Listen below.

Angel Olsen announces 2023 U.S. tour

Angel Olsen has announced a 2023 headlining tour in support of her latest album, Big Time . After she makes her way through Europe this fall, she’ll begin a run of dates on the eastern half of the country, starting in Atlanta and then wrapping up in February in Durham, North Carolina. Check out her upcoming tour dates below.

Angel Olsen announces headline shows as part of 2023 Australian tour

The singer-songwriter will play headline shows at Melbourne Recital Hall and Sydney Opera House, with more dates to be announced

After being announced on the line-ups for two festivals –  Mona Foma in Tasmania and Golden Plains in Victoria –  Angel Olsen has now announced a pair of Australian headline shows for next year.

In addition to her festival appearances, Olsen will perform at Melbourne Recital Hall on March 1, making her debut in the venue. Then, on March 6, she’ll return to the Sydney Opera House. It will mark the singer’s first performance in the venue’s Concert Hall, after previously performing in the Opera House’s Studio space in 2016.

Earlier today, Olsen shared a poster for her Australian tour dates that shows multiple blacked-out entries, promising “more dates to be announced soon”. For now, tickets to Olsen’s Melbourne and Sydney shows will go on sale next Monday (October 24) at 1pm.

As Olsen alluded to her in her Instagram post (“This feels long overdue”), it’s been some time since the singer-songwriter’s last Australian visit. She last toured the country in 2018, playing shows in Brisbane, Byron Bay, Fremantle, Sydney and Melbourne.

Since then, Olsen has released three new albums, beginning with ‘All Mirrors’ in 2019. The following year, she released ‘Whole New Mess’ , an album that was recorded prior to ‘All Mirrors’ but features many of the same songs in sparser, more intimate arrangements.

In June of this year, Olsen released her sixth studio album, ‘Big Time’. In a four-star review , NME said the record features “the kind of music that recalls the kind of artists who operate on universal levels” such as Johnny Cash , Dolly Parton , Elvis Presley or Emmylou Harris . “Olsen is a fitting successor; her Midwestern croon is so impeccably suited to this kind of music that it’s a wonder she ever sang any other way,” it concluded.

In addition to Olsen, next year’s Mona Foma line-up will also include the likes of feature the likes of Bon Iver , Bikini Kill , Peaches , Pavement and The Chills . Golden Plains’ bill, meanwhile, also includes Bikini Kill, Four Tet , Carly Rae Jepsen and more.
