Can You Bring Your Vape on a Carnival Cruise Ship? Ultimate Vaping Guide!

Are you the one who can’t live without vaping and is worried about whether you can bring vape on a Carnival cruise or not? Worries not, this guide is for you.

Since Carnival cruise line has a very strict policy on vapes and cigarettes, it’s clear that vaping is not in public areas. Therefore, it’s very important to understand their policy and know the specific smoking areas to avoid heavy fines and other penalties.

Is Vape On A Carnival Cruise Allowed?

Carnival Cruise ships are designated as no smoking; however, you can bring a vape onboard, but you are only allowed to use it in designated smoking areas.

Their policy considers e-cigarettes and vapes (including vape pens) in the same way that it does regular tobacco cigarettes.

So, no worries if it’s a nicotine vape – you can bring it along. 

But make sure not to bring weed vapes, along with all other forms of marijuana, as they are completely banned from the cruise line, even if medically prescribed.

And joke asides, I’ve seen cruisers facing heavy fines and losing their weed vapes during security checks, so be careful.

Can You Do Vaping On A Carnival Cruise In Public?

Absolutely not; vaping is only allowed in designated areas on all Carnival ships, and it’s not permitted in public areas.

According to their Smoking Policy, “Smoking is strictly limited to specific exterior deck areas.”

So, it’s clear that smoking or vaping is not allowed in staterooms or on balconies . 

If you’re thinking why it’s not permitted in public? It’s for the safety of all guests and crew.

Just think for yourself: Smoking/vaping poses a fire and safety hazard on the ship, and it could disturb other cruisers, including children and patients.

So, in a nutshell, you can only do vaping in specific smoking areas and not in public.

Specific Carnival Ship Onboard Areas On Which You Can Vape?

Vaping/smoking on Carnival Cruise is strictly limited to specific exterior deck areas and designated casino/nightclub spaces.

• Another designated area on Deck 17 (starboard side, aft).
• Cigars and tobacco pipes are only allowed at the outdoor smoking area on Deck 17 (starboard side, aft).

3- Carnival Conquest

• Allow vaping only when seated and playing.
• Designated smoking areas on Deck 3 (starboard side) and Deck 10 (starboard side, midship and aft).

• Vaping is allowed only when seated and playing.

• No smoking in the designated non-smoking section of the casino.

Allowed Outdoors

• Designated smoking area at Bar Della Rosa on Deck 8 (starboard side, midship).
• Cigars and tobacco pipes are only permitted in the outdoor smoking area on Deck 17.

Which Vapes Are Allowed On Carnival Cruise Line?

On carnival cruises, only nicotine vapes are allowed. Weed vapes, along with all other forms of marijuana, are completely banned from the cruise line, even if medically prescribed.

In case your vape gets caught under the security scanner, just chill unless it’s a weed vape.

However, just look for your mom, lol!

What If You Get Caught Vaping In Public Areas Of Cruise Ship?

If any cruiser gets caught violating the smoking policy, it will result in a $500 charge, per violation, posted on the guest’s Sail & Sign account.

Additionally, the violation may also result in the disembarkation of all guests in the stateroom.

Keep in mind that if you are disembarked for violating the smoking policy, you’ll be responsible for all financial charges.

The short answer is yes, you can bring a vape on a cruise, but there are some restrictions as to where you can use it and which types you can take if you smoke weed pen .

Generally, the use of e-cigarettes on cruise ships is regulated by the same rules as smoking: it’s only allowed in designated smoking areas. 

Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian, three of the world’s biggest cruise lines, all follow this policy. MSC, Princess, Holland America, Disney, Celebrity, and Virgin have also adopted this rule.

• If the battery can’t be disassembled, ensure the power button is turned off and secured to avoid accidental activation.
• Place your e-cig in its original box or use a proper carrying case to protect the device inside your luggage.

And this is how you should pack e-liquids:

• Decide how much e-juice you need for your whole trip. Make sure to stock enough e-liquid to last until return as, in most cases, you won’t be able to buy it on board. And what are the chances that you find your favorite brand in a place you’re traveling to?
• Store your e-juice in plastic bottles. The risk of cracking will be lower than with glass bottles. 
• Place the bottles in a plastic bag with a zipper. 

If you’re getting to the port by plane, you should follow the mentioned rules, plus a few more:

• Dissemble all the removable parts from your vape pen. 
• Keep all vaping gear in your check-in luggage.
• Store your e-liquids in bottles that can hold no more than 100ml.

Not to start a huge debate, but just wondering....

I had a coworker tell me once he set off a smoke detector in his dorm room, and the alarm went off in the whole dorms.

No matter how true it is, watching cruise videos, twice I've seen people vaping in their cabin.

If it could set off an alarm in a dorm, couldn't it set off an alarm if done in a ship cabin? Does anyone here know of a time when the alarms have gone off due to vaping?

I've been reading some posts that someone set off the sprinkler system in the casino by blowing the "smoke" near one of them.

I would NOT want to drench my cabin.

That casino set off was a glitch/problem with the system, nothing to do with the vaping. I don't remember the mechanics, but certain detectors can pickup the vapor, like those in the bathrooms of an airplane bathroom, something to do with an optic sensor?

Not saying it's right or wrong, but if you're sitting in your cabin and have a vape, nothing is going to happen.

Google it, tons of articles come up on how this all works.

If it is against the rules(which it is) then why are people on here giving advice to do it???

Depending on the type of sensor and distance to the cape, it could go off. Remember, vaping is not allowed in the cabin so be careful.

If this was actually happening (the detectors being triggered) we'd be reading about it, because you know people *are* vaping in their staterooms.

Do the math.

Depending on how sensitive a smoke detector is, on a cruise ship, hotel, wherever, I would imagine you could set off a detector if you're directly under it and blew a huge cloud into it. I am not going to advocate vaping in your cabin, but if you choose to do so, just use common sense and put some distance between you and the smoke detector.

Not sure what type of sprinkler system or detectors were present in the casino, but I doubt smoke would trigger an automatic sprinkler. In the cabins, the smoke detector is only connected to an alarm system. The sprinkler is triggered when heat melts the little orange plug in the sprinkler head, dropping out the plug and allowing the pressurized water behind it to flow. So, while vaping may set off a smoke detector (shower steam has been known to do so), it wouldn't trigger the sprinklers.

HEAT triggers sprinklers. SMOKE triggers smoke detectors. Your "vaping" will trigger nothing, unless you are blowing your vapor into the detector. No worries.

Get something super small like an icare mini which does not produce a lot of puff and some juice that doesn't smell and you will have no worries. I would be worried if you had some massive fog producing device with some crazy flavor in it.

The thing about vaping is you can go it anywhere as long as no one sees you. There's no smoke in vape, but even bathroom steam can set off a detector if the sensitivity is set to high.

And I have set off the alarm on the ship if I take a hot shower, and the alarm goes off. And then I close the door and wave pillows at the alarm.

Don't worry about it.

I read a review about some kids vaping in their inside cabins. Nothing happened, even the cabin steward saw them and said nothing!

It's against the rules, yes, but didn't see anybody giving advice to do it, just fairly answering the questions and not starting beating a dead horse thread

It really doesn't matter how righteously indignant you guys get, or if you try to force people not to talk about it. It happens, and the reason it happens is that it's really not a big deal (even though some people like to get hysterical about it, which is how you look when you yell about "the rules!!!" regarding something that is having literally zero impact on your life).

I agree with Jimbo on just about nothing but gotta go with the old guy on this one. Nothing irritates me more than seeing people vaping.

I wish everyone who can't quit smoking would vape instead. It's less stinky.

Completely subjective, I find the smell offensive as hell. I'm not going to cry like the snowflakes who hate smoking around them but it does stink.

Smoking is disallowed in the cabins because of the odor it leaves. Vaping does none of that unless you told "some" people the cabin had been vaped in. Then their imagination would produce all kinds of "unpleasant" odors.

Smoke or vape can't set off sprinklers. That information is also imagined by the same people in the previous paragraph.

Setting the voltage down low eliminates a lot of the vapor cloud. Use a pleasant scent like Cinnabon or Strawberries or Watermelon. Never a problem, excepting, of course, that bitchy old bag that bathes in perfume 3 times a day and smells like a French whore. She'll find something wrong with it and, frequently, everything around her. :D

We set off an alarm once on the fascination by showering with the door open (4 showers in a row, once of which was my daughter for a solid 20 minutes, lol.) We got an immediate call from the bridge asking if there was in fact a fire as they had an alarm notice for our room. They had to send an engineer immediately to see with his own eyes that there wasn't a fire before they would clear the alarm.

Dont' do it.

On Costa Cruises , smoking is allowed in outdoor smoking areas and on private balconies (this is, perhaps, the only cruise line to allow this); indoors, it's only permitted in dedicated cigar lounges. E-cigarette use is permitted indoors only in cabins and cigar lounges.

Smoking is mainly allowed outdoors in designated areas of the upper decks, pool area and promenade decks on Crystal cruises . In addition, cigarette, cigar and pipe smoking are only permitted indoors in the Connoisseur Club and in the VIP Casino (when playing and if requested).

Cunard Line

Cunard Line prohibits smoking indoors, except in the Churchill's Cigar Lounge (which is exclusive to cigar and pipe smokers). Cigarette smoking (as well as e-cigarettes and vaping) is only permitted in designated areas of the outdoor decks and is not allowed in outdoor dining venues or on cabin balconies.

Disney Cruise Line

Smokers can light up only in select onboard locations on Disney Cruise Line ships. On Disney Wish, smoking is permitted on Deck 4 (port side), but only from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., and on Deck 14 (forward, port side and aft, port side) at any time.

On Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, smoking areas include Deck 9 (forward, port side) and Deck 4 (starboard) outdoor areas (and only on this deck from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.).

On Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, smoking is permitted on Deck 4 (port side, aft) but only from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., the Deck 12 outdoor area by the Meridian Lounge (port side, aft) and Deck 13 near the Currents Bar (port side, forward).

Holland America

Most indoor areas of Holland America ships are nonsmoking, as are cabin verandas. Smoking areas vary by ship but may include the Sea View Bar area on all ships, Noordam's Oak Room and the Sports Deck by the Crow's Nest on Volendam and Zaandam. On select ships, players at the casino are allowed to smoke, but only when the ship is more than 12 nautical miles outside of the Netherlands. Smoking rules also apply to e-cigarettes.

Lindblad Expeditions

Lindblad Expeditions only permits smoking and vaping in designated outdoor smoking areas.

MSC Cruises

On MSC Cruises ' ships, smoking areas are designated by signs and the presence of ashtrays. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is never allowed in cabins and on cabin balconies. While MSC Seashore does not have any indoor smoking areas, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Splendida and MSC Divina each have a smoking/cigar room inside.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line allows smoking in select indoor and outdoor locations. Indoors, smoking is permitted in the casino by active players; select ships have a dedicated smoking room within the larger casino. Passengers may smoke cigars — but not cigarettes or pipes — in the cigar lounges found on select ships. Norwegian Encore has a smoking room on Deck 8. Also, Norwegian Viva and Norwegian Prima have The Humidor Cigar Lounge (on Deck 7 and Deck 6, respectively).

Outdoors, smoking is permitted in The Haven Sun Deck forward and in the private garden and sun decks of Garden Villas. For everyone else, dedicated smoking areas are on select outdoor decks (these vary by ship) and on the starboard side of Spice H2O. Passengers are not allowed to smoke outdoors near food venues, children's areas, Vibe and Posh Beach Clubs and outdoor sports areas.

Oceania Cruises

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all Oceania Cruises ' cabins and suites, on balconies or in any area not specifically designated as a smoking area, which also includes all restaurants, lounges and the casino. Smoking is only allowed on Deck 9 in the forward starboard corner of the pool deck and on Deck 10 in the aft port corner of Horizons. Cigar and pipe smoking is only permitted on the forward starboard corner of the Pool Deck. The smoking policy applies to e-cigarettes.

Paul Gauguin Cruises

Paul Gauguin Cruises allows smoking and vaping only in select outdoor areas. These include the outdoor area on Deck 5 forward, the outdoor starboard side of La Palette and the starboard side of Bar Du Soleil. No smoking is allowed indoors.

Ponant Cruises

Ponant Cruises does not permit smoking in any indoor venues. Passengers can light up in designated outdoor areas.

Princess Cruises

On Princess Cruises ships, passengers can smoke only in designated areas, which include cigar lounges, certain corners of the nightclub and the smoking section of certain outside decks. The casino is mostly a nonsmoking area, but smoking is usually allowed while playing specific slot machines — except on non-smoking nights. All smoking, including vaping and e-cigarette use, is prohibited in cabins and balconies.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Smoking is allowed in designated areas of the pool deck and in the Connoisseur Club on Seven Seas Splendor, Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Voyager, Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Grandeur. Smoking is permitted in one outdoor area of the Horizon Lounge on Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager and of Galileo's on Seven Seas Navigator. Cigars and pipes may not be allowed in all smoking areas. The smoking policy applies to e-cigarettes.

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean allows cigarette, e-cigarette, cigar and pipe smoking in specific outdoor areas. Look for signs and ashtrays. The Casino Royale is typically a smoking venue, with only a small nonsmoking section. (However, cruises from China and Hong Kong lack the nonsmoking section, while cruises from Australia and the U.K. do not allow smoking in the casino at all.) On Oasis Class vessels, smoking is not allowed in Central Park or the Boardwalk neighborhoods.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours

On Scenic Eclipse and Scenic's river ships, smoking is not permitted indoors. An outdoor smoking area is provided for smokers on all vessels.

Unlike most cruise ships, Seabourn allows guests to smoke e-cigarettes in their suites; otherwise, cigarette smoking is not allowed indoors. Designated outdoor smoking areas for cigarettes, cigars and pipes are clearly posted throughout the vessel.

SeaDream Yacht Club

Indoor smoking is banned on SeaDream Yacht Club ships. Designated smoking areas for cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes can be found on outside decks.

Silversea Cruises

Silversea Cruises guests may smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipes and e-cigarettes in the Connoisseur's Corner cigar lounge. Outdoor smoking areas include the seating areas outside the Dusk Bar, Panorama Lounge and Pool Bar, and select sections of open decks (these vary by ship).

Star Clippers

Designated smoking areas can be found onboard on the Sun Deck and in the Tropical Bar. Smoking is not permitted indoors or on the aft deck.

UnCruise Adventures

Vaping and smoking are allowed in special smoking areas found on the outside aft deck. There are no indoor smoking venues on UnCruise Adventures ships.

Viking 's ocean, river and expedition vessels are mainly nonsmoking. All have dedicated outdoor smoking sections, which are the only places guests can smoke cigarettes or e-cigarettes on board.

Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages might be hip, but you still can't vape or smoke marijuana in your cabin or private balcony. Designated smoking areas are provided throughout each ship, with one on Deck 16 outside.

Job description.

Reporting to the Manager of Medical Recruitment, this role supports the administration, programs, projects, and activities related to the global medical recruitment of doctors, nurses, paramedics, healthcare assistants and public health officers.  The Associate II, Medical Recruitment   assists in the recruitment process by managing applicant tracking, coordinating candidate communications, conducting interviews, and verifying that candidates meet the necessary qualifications, licenses, and experience required for shipboard medical positions. 

The position contributes to talent attraction efforts by developing and executing digital marketing and social media strategies, coordinating campaigns on multiple social medical platforms, trade shows, and other talent retention outlooks to attract high-quality applicants for shipboard medical positions. Through the development of engaging content and analyzing marketing data, the role enhances recruitment strategies and improves candidate engagement, supporting the overall effectiveness of the medical talent acquisition process. 

This role will interface with all brands, medical teams onboard, shoreside health services and public health leaders as well as external vendors that manage our healthcare systems. This includes supporting the North American brands which comprises four global brands with approximately 65+ ships carrying over 10 million guests annually and employing over 100,000 team members.

Essential Functions:

• Supports the administration, programs, projects, and activities related to the global medical recruitment of doctors, nurses, paramedics, healthcare assistants and public health officers. 
• Collects, compiles, and analyzes recruitment, staffing, and onboarding data.
• Tracks candidates through the Applicants Tracking System (ATS), and coordinates candidate statuses with recruiters and hiring managers.
• Liaises with talent acquisition partners, reconciling and reporting candidate progress, and following up on missing items to expedite recruitment decisions.
• Supports the review of medical applicants to advance through the selection process in coordination with hiring managers.
• Conducts structured candidate behavioral and adaptability interviews.
• Coordinates interview assignments with external recruitment collaborators, including scheduling, report collection, and pre-screening summaries. 
• Obtains and pre-screens professional reference checks and other pre-employment verifications in the hiring process. 
• Communicates with candidates, providing updates on their progress, requesting necessary documents, and answering or relaying queries about the selection process, job offers, and onboarding tasks.
• Extends and tracks acceptance and refusal of job offers extended to medical candidates.
• Engages new hires in onboarding, guides them through the ATS workflow and connects them with the appropriate onboarding agent or Global Talent Partner. 
• Monitors and manages communications through shared email boxes for candidates, talent partners, collaborators, and interdepartmental teams. 
• Follows data privacy and security policies while processing candidate information and using electronic record-keeping systems.
• Assists the manager in researching and selecting marketing strategies to reach potential applicants, including innovative recruitment techniques and tools.
• Assists in developing and executing targeted digital marketing campaigns across various platforms, including social media to attract qualified candidates for shipboard medical positions.
• Creates, obtains, edits, and publishes compelling content for different digital platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram to attract potential candidates. 
• Manages content and engagement on the Corporation’s social media platforms dedicated to medical talent acquisition. 
• Supports talent partners in recruitment campaigns tailored to hiring needs by reviewing strategy, multimedia materials, and other elements.
• Assists in organization of public events related to talent acquisition marketing initiatives as directed by the manager.
• Collects and analyzes data from digital marketing initiatives to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for improving recruitment strategies and enhancing candidate engagement.
• Supports inter-departmental quality improvement projects.
• Applies findings of QI initiatives and market research findings to guide and enhance medical talent acquisition efforts.
• Participates in the development of performance monitoring tools related to talent acquisition. 
• Participates in quality improvement projects for screening and selecting medical candidates.
• Monitors expenses and seeks cost-effective solutions to meet departmental goals.
• Provides cross-coverage for other roles as requested by managers.
• Collaborates with the management team to coordinate and support ad hoc and non-recurring projects.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent college coursework required, bachelor’s preferred.   
• Certification in Social Media Marketing, Healthcare Marketing, Digital Marketing, or Marketing Solutions preferred. Certification in Internet Recruitment, Search Engine Optimization and Analytics preferred.
• 2+ years of work experience with similar scope and responsibilities is required. Advanced college degree may substitute for work experience. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Talent acquisition experience in candidate screening and using digital Applicant Tracking Systems is preferred. Experience in digital marketing strategy and social media platform management is essential.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft 365, social media marketing platforms from a business perspective and the use of power platforms
• Strong written, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, learn new processes, and use critical thinking to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.

Physical Demands : Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel : No or very little travel likely

Work Conditions : Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. May be requested to work a different shift.

This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday.  Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
