About Tučepi

If southern Croatia could spread its invisible hands in the direction of the sun, the place where all points of light would gather would be in Tučepi, the little heart of Dalmatia. With its gold beaches, the green pines, the beauty of the vineyards and olive-groves, the stone of Biokovo and the azure sea, Tučepi is a breath-taking location, surpassed by none.

Tučepi is a renowned tourist village in the middle of Dalmatia and situated in the Makarska Riviera and at the foot of Mount Biokovo. With its unique position, Tučepi offers numerous vacation possibilities and has become a favourite tourist destination throughout Croatia and Europe. Located just 80 kilometres from Split Airport and easily accessed by roads, ferries and ports, Tučepi is easily connected to all EU centres.

Tučepi offers its guests rich culinary delights in its hotels, restaurants and wine cellars. Those who are interested in active holidays have access to all the equipment needed for a variety of water sports, as well as access to other sporting facilities.

The proximity of Biokovo is a true luxury for rock-climbers and for all who love walking outside in the open countryside.

Tučepi is an ancient settlement with a four millenium-long past. Thanks to its distinctive features, the combination of the most crystal-clear sea and the highest mountain in the Mediterranean, Tučepi has become a leading destination for travellers looking for tranquillity and relaxing light-heartedness in undisturbed natural surroundings.

Visit Croatia

Tucepi is one of the small towns of the Makarska Riviera , located only about 5km southeast along the coastline from Makarska itself, and about 70km from Split. It’s popular as a holiday destination – as evidenced by the choice of hotel and private accommodation here – and the kind of place where you can relax on holiday, hitting the beaches in the daytime, enjoying nice meals out in the evenings followed by a stroll on the long seaside promenade.

Tucepi

Getting to Tucepi

From Split, there are several daily buses to Tucepi which take about 1 hour 30 minutes. From Makarska, it’s only a ten-minute bus ride.

You might want to make the walk from Tucepi to Makarska and back (but perhaps not when you’re trying to get there in the first place!) – it will take you about one hour on a pine-shaded track by the sea.

What to See and Do in Tucepi

Tucepi Beach is a pebble beach with shallow waters making it very suitable for families. There are numerous cafes and eateries nearby for refreshments.

Tucepi Beach

Slatina Beach is located towards the north of the town near some of the Bluesun hotels. Again, it’s a pebble beach with good facilities, and good for all ages. There is some refreshing shade from pine trees here too.

For something more secluded, head to (by foot) Kraljev Gaj Beach further north along the coast still. This is a very small pebble beach, surrounded by rocks, and there are no facilities – but it’s definitely where you should head to if you want a bit of peace and quiet.

Thrill-seekers will be…thrilled…to hear there’s a zipline near Tucepi on which participants of all ages (kids ride in tandem with an adult) whizz down a 1000m-long cable stretched over a canyon. Contact the TipExtreme agency to organise a go on the zipline.

Biokovo & Biokovo Skywalk

Mount Biokovo is located just above the town (you’ll certainly see it when you’re there!) and you can visit Mount Biokovo Nature Park either by car or (perhaps easier) on an organised tour. Ask a local agency for details. When in the Nature Park, be sure to make a stop at the relatively new Biokovo Skywalk (which opened in 2020), the glass viewing platform 1,228m above sea level.

Biokovo Skywalk

We’d certainly recommend taking the short bus ride to Makarska to spend an afternoon there. (You could also walk along the coast, as mentioned above – it takes about one hour each way.)

Heading into Split to see that city’s sights would also be a great idea!

Events in Tucepi

At the end of June each year, the Hotel Kastelet hosts the Kastelet Festival which klapa groups (klapa being a type of a cappella singing from Dalmatia) perform.

As with many towns along the Croatian coastline, Tucepi holds a ‘cultural summer’ festival each year that runs (roughly) from early July through to the end of September. The festival generally includes plenty of live music and theatre performances held in outdoor venues; check locally to see what’s on.

Toochepin is a small rock festival that takes place in August.

Tucepi

Eating and Drinking in Tucepi

You’ll find plenty of dining and drinking options – with something for every budget – in the centre of the town, but here are some of the most popular places:

Restaurant Jeny is a fine-dining place that visitors rave about. Located above Tucepi, there are glorious views out to sea whilst you sample the seven-course tasting menu, which can be accompanied by wine pairing.

Rosos is a great option right in the heart of Tucepi; sample typical and very generously-portioned Dalmatian fish, seafood and meat dishes.

The Olive Tree Restaurant , located in the Villa Andrea Hotel, offers beautiful sea views and a comfortable, stylish setting as well as beautifully presented, inventive dishes.

Beach Bar Tamaris offers great daytime quick food (pizzas, salads, burgers) and drinks (cocktails!) when you need a break from sitting on the beach!

Head to Bistro Olea for the best pizzas in town.

Michigen Beach Bar is the place to come for cocktails and dancing til the early hours.

Accommodation in Tucepi

The town has a very good selection of hotel accommodation, including the very popular, luxury 5-star TUI Blue Jadran Hotel with its multiple pools, restaurants, secluded beach, spa and nearby sports facilities.

There are also a number of 4-star options, most run by the Bluesun group – these include the family-friendly Bluesun Holiday Village Afrodita and the Bluesun Hotel Alga , or the Hotel Tamaris . There is also the 3-star all-inclusive Blusun Hotel Neptun .

There’s a good selection of villas and private apartments for rent in the town – take a look at our Accommodation in Tucepi page for more details.

Take a look at the Tucepi Tourist Board website for more helpful information in you’re visiting the town.

Lovely place of Makarska Riviera

After visiting Makarska , Baska Voda and Brela , it was time for me to visit the last pearl of Makarska Riviera, Tucepi. Just like the other places of the Makarska Riviera, Tucepi has become the attractive Croatian tourist destination . I went there for a visit on June 13, 2019.

Tucepi sunset

Table of Contents

How did i arrive in tucepi, my impressions of tucepi, restaurants in tucepi, tucepi beaches, evening in tucepi, conclusion of my visit.

The easiest way to approach Tucepi is by car or bus . I went there by car from Split . The ride took an hour and a half and it was comfortable. There were not many cars on the road. Low traffic is a big advantage of Croatia tourism during June. I left my car in the centre of the village. It was easy to find parking spot . The price for parking was around 1.4 euros (10 kunas) per hour, which is significantly cheaper compared to the parking prices in Brela and Baska Voda (2.5 euros). Generally speaking, Tucepi is more affordable than other destinations of Makarska Riviera , which makes the place even more appealing.

Nice vacation houses in Tucepi

Immediately after getting out of my car in Tucepi, I started feeling relaxed. The sea and the coast had a soothing effect on me. I could feel I was in a lovely place . That's the same atmosphere I felt in other destinations on Makarska Riviera. When I looked around myself, I could see people were having a great time . Some of them were enjoying the early evening walk, while others were still on the beach, or in some of the many coffee bars and restaurants. Everyone was enjoying their vacation to the fullest.

Walkway

When I arrived in the village, I was already hungry, so one of the first things for me was to find a nice restaurant with an affordable pizza price. After a few minutes of walking, I chose a restaurant near the sea, called Mala Barka. The pizza was really good, but what is more important, the atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic. I enjoyed the view of the sea . The soothing sound of the sea made it really perfect. The pizza and coffee cost me 7.5 euros, which is pretty much an affordable price. If you don't want pizza, you can taste some of Meditteranean's specialities like fish fillet (11 euros), octopus salad (9 euros), or any other restaurant's speciality.

Tucepi restaurant

Tucepi is a place with one of the biggest beach complexes in Croatia . The coast is more than 3 kilometres long, and it features many pebble beaches. It could be said that the whole Tucepi coast is one big beach. Just above the beaches, there are coffee bars, ice cream shops and restaurants. Some of them feature really nice design.

Beaches in Tucepi

Tucepi organises live concerts a few times a week during the summer season . The concerts usually start at 21.30 pm. I was lucky because, at the time of my visit, there was a concert featuring Neno Belan, one of the most famous Croatian musicians and songwriters. I really like his music. You can check the list of events on Tucepi's tourist board website .

Early evening in Tucepi

Just like the other destinations of Makarska Riviera, Tucepi is a great spot to spend holidays. It features all the necessary facilities expected from big destinations. Furthermore, it is more affordable than other villages in Riviera . If you are looking for a calm and soothing place with great beaches and the coast, then I believe you will have a great time there. tourist board tucepi

A guide to the Makarska Riviera town of Tučepi. Its great beaches and superb restaurants make it one of the best choices for holidays on this stretch of the Dalmatia coast.

What to do? Best things to do in Tučepi

  • Don’t miss nature and hiking in Biokovo Nature Park
  • Tučepi Beaches
  • Where to stay in Tučepi?
  • Where to eat in Tučepi?
  • Top 5 day trips from Tučepi
  • Where is Tučepi?

How to get to Tučepi and get around

As much as the whole of the Makarska Riviera is famous for beaches, Tučepi stands out. Its long stretch of more-or-less straight coast welcomes and accommodates many. However, Tučepi beaches are not all the small town is famous for. As a matter of fact, Tučepi has carved itself quite the name for its food. Restaurants with sea views, taverns with terraces, there’s lots of choice for the seafood lover. Furthermore, it feels like many eateries here make an extra effort. Could that be in response to having the region’s only Michelin-recommended restaurant, Jeny, in town?

St George's chapel in Tučepi

Furthermore, Tučepi has a strong reputation for sporadic music events, a few great examples of historical architectural heritage and a connection to nature. Indeed, it sits right below Biokovo mountain and its Nature Park. Tučepi holidays are typically family-friendly with lots of activities available in and around the beach. Furthermore, the sunsets from the beaches and terraces are special, in sight of the mighty mountain and the islands of Hvar and Brač.

Fun on the Adriatic © Tourist Board of Tučepi

Of course, Tučepi’s greatest asset is its several kilometres of pristine shoreline. Therefore, perhaps overall the best thing to do in Tučepi is go to the beach. But, we don’t really have to tell you that, do we? After all, it’s doubtless one of the main reasons you’re here. Accordingly, we added a full and comprehensive guide to beaches in Tučepi, just below this section.

Fly above the waves, parasailing

Madori parasailing, watersports and boat hire in Tučepi

The beach and town look totally different from the air. Minutes feel like hours as you ascend, the sounds of the beach fading away. Suspended in the air and fly free, you’ll not want to come back down. Find the parasailing guys on the beach or speak to the Madori guys at Dračevice 46.

Delve into the deepest blue and go diving

Butterfly Diving Tučepi

You don’t have to be an expert to explore the deep in Tučepi. Butterfly Watersports and Diving Tučepi at Kraj 83 do courses, snorkelling and day trips by boat. Therefore, they’re used to catering for both beginners and the more experienced. Moreover, they’ll open up for group bookings out of season, if you first call.

Sail over canyons and treetops on Tučepi zipline

The good folks of JK Sv. Ante Sailing Club in Tučepi, trying out the Tučepi zip line.

Sitting in the tree-filled foothills of the great Biokovo, zip line Tučepi is a thrilling way to get up close to the landscape. Specifically, you’ll fly over treetops and a deep canyon on the popular attraction.

Go sailing or explore the shore by kayak , canoe or boat

JK Sv. Ante Sailing Club of Tučepi

The shoreline around Tučepi is brilliant to explore. Hidden coves and small, difficult-to-reach beaches reveal themselves when you pass by kayak or boat. In fact, just north of Tučepi, the first three beaches you reach are either difficult to reach or inaccessible other than by boat. Go find them!

Sailing, kayak, canoe

There are a good range of options for kayak, canoe and boat hire in Tučepi. Furthermore, the village has its own sailing club, JK Sv. Ante Sailing Club, and they have brilliant, tiny sailing ships in which they coach the youngest how to harness the wind.

Taking in the surroundings from the sea is special here. On the one hand, a great expanse of blue and islands Hvar and Brac, on the other, the beaches, pine trees and beyond the great Biokovo mountain. Stop somewhere for a picnic. Or, just jump overboard and swim at a spot you like. Wear sunblock and a hat if going in high temperatures. The sun is relentless and there’s no shade on the open Adriatic. Or, choose a nighttime tour. You can do that here too.

Canoe and kayak on the Adriatic

Don’t miss nature and hiking in Biokovo Nature Park and views from Biokovo Skywalk and Biokovo Mountain

Biokovo Nature Park, Biokovo Mountain as seen from upper Tučepi.

Biokovo mountain is inescapable. In fact, at 36 kilometers in length, it dominates the skyline of this part of Dalmatia entirely. Different from how it looks from the beach, the hinterland side holds more vegetation, more colours. In particular, as a backdrop for peaceful morning coffee on the terrace, the view is simply jawdropping.

Nature Park

Biokovo Nature Park from the peninsula of St. Peter (Makarska)..

The whole mountain area – almost 200  km² – is a Nature Park. Rare flora live here. And, so too do weasels, martens, horned owls, greyish eagles, serpent eagles, chamois and mouflon. The flora and fauna reveal themselves best while walking or hiking the mountain. Or on a guided tour. Although, you can visit the summit by car if you don’t fancy the walk.

At 1422 meters, Vošac is the highest point. Its views are some of Croatia’s best. In fact, Makarska and Tučepi look tiny below you. Across the shimmering expanse of blue, the island of Brač. And, behind it, Hvar. Read more about the epic Biokovo mountain and the Biokovo Nature Park in our guide .

Tučepi beaches

One of the Tučepi beaches © Tourist Board of Tučepi

Deservedly, this village is famous for its beaches. Want to find the perfect Tučepi beach for you? Just walk along the coast and find your spot. Aside from the village centre, you can walk the entire length of Tučepi along the beach or the designated path immediately behind. All of the waters are crystal clear. Furthermore, the beaches are especially nice to stroll down as the sun wanes. Tučepi sunsets are some of the best.

Jadran beach

Jadran beach in Tučepi © Vice Rudan / Makarska Riviera beaches

The northernmost beach in Tučepi, this one sits directly in front of the Jadran hotel. The absence of other options here perhaps make it feel a little like a private beach solely for hotel guests, but it’s not. The westernmost section is covered by pines under which anyone can shade. Tucked in the trees is a good bistro.

Lučica beach, Dračevice beach, Slatina beach

Slatina beach in Tučepi © Silverije

A very long stretch of beautiful beach running northwards immediately from the centre. Popular, easy to access and with good facilities like showers, changing and toilets, Lučica beach and Slatina beach kind of melt into each other. It’s Lučica un to the large concrete observation deck towards the end of Donji ratac. Thereafter, you pass the two large Bluesun complexes on a section sometimes called Dračevice. After they finish, you’re on Slatina beach. Lučica has some sections without pine cover but is overflowing with good bar and food options close by. Slatina has good restaurants, fast food and bars at the back too. Just walk along this beautiful long stretch of shoreline on the path and find the spot for you.

Kamena beach

Kamena beach in Tučepi © Vice Rudan / Makarska Riviera beaches

Popular with families, Kamena has showers, toilets and, at very close hand, inexpensive food options and bars. A short fully-paved walk from the nearby Tučepi centre, several accommodation options actually overlook it. Accessible but still with very clear waters.

Dračevac beach

Dračevac beach in Tučepi © Vice Rudan / Makarska Riviera beaches.

The southernmost beach before Podgora, you’re well placed to walk to Dračevac if staying in Tučepi. As a matter of fact, walking is best because parking nearby is an issue. The pebble beach is peaceful, quiet, serviced by a small cafe bar and backed by shading pines. On one side of the beach, families enjoy shallow, clear waters, while on the other a small section devoted to naturalists.

Where to stay in Tučepi? Tučepi hotels, accommodation, property

Tučepi hotels.

Some of the top-rated hotels in Dalmatia can be found on the Makarska Riviera. On balance, if you’re looking for a 5-star hotel in Croatia or a 4-star hotel option, the Makarska Riviera is one of the best mainland coastal choices. Furthermore, Tučepi has its fair share of them.

Running north to south, there are the 5-star Jadran , Hotel Tamaris and the Hotel Neptun. Afterward, the 4-star Alga and its neigbouring holiday village. There are several more besides. Check out the usual booking platforms and don’t forget to look at a few Tučepi reviews online for each.

Villas and apartments

However, food is great and its location in the middle of an olive tree garden gives a truly special ambience. Restaurante Konoba Veza and Konoba Opacak , near the zip line, are also good. Specifically, they have great raised terraces and accompanying sea views.

Tourist destination info Tucepi

Tucepi is a small place, located on the Makarska Riviera , famous for the longest beach (3km), along which a beautiful promenade is situated, in the shade of the pine trees. It is first mentioned in the “Kresevska charter” in 1434. The document is written in Croatian and Bosnian letter. Do not miss to visit the sites in Tucepi and the surroundings, such as the Church of the Birth of Our Lady (built in 1703), St. Roko church (built in 1730), St. Ante of Padua church (built in 1898), the Foundations of the church of St. Vid, Saric fort, Buselic fort, Lalic fort, as well as numerous baroque summer houses.

Tucepi also holds a marina for fishing and tourist boats and yachts. During summer, Tucepi organizes festivities which offer various food, refreshments and pleasant music during the evening hours. Those in search of fun until the morning hours can visit Makarska which is only 5km away. Makarska is one of the most famous tourist destinations of the Croatian littoral and is famous for its rich tourist offer. Sports and active vacation enthusiasts can enjoy football, tennis, volleyball, basketball, cycling, sailing, jet-ski, as well as numerous other activities. If you would like to get acquainted with the gastronomy of this region and savor the specialties of Tucepi, visit the restaurants “Tanaris” and “Gusari”, as well as the taverns “Stari Dvor” and “Barba”.

Be sure to visit

Bol is the oldest town on the coast of Brac. It is rich with long pebbly and sandy beaches which stretch for about 10km. One of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic is located in Bol – Zlatni rat. Historical sites enthusiasts can visit the roman aqueduct, tombstones and reliefs, old Christian sarcophagus, preromantic church of St. Ivan and Tudor, renaissance baroque palace, bishop residency and the church of Our Lady of Grace.

Hvar is an ancient city with a rich history. The city faces the sunny South side of the world and has the sunniest days during the year. Its name comes from the island’s Greek name Pharos. Of the city’s historical monuments you can visit the fortress Fortica, the Hvar cathedral, theatre and Franciscan monastery. Hvar is the heart of Croatian island tourism and is one of the most visited destinations in the entire Adriatic. The main attractions of the city are: its warm, sunny climate, its various accommodation opportunities, sport and recreation, its natural beauty, a good gastronomic offer and the city’s active night life.

Split is one of the best known and most visited tourist destinations in Croatia and the second largest city in the country.  It is an eternally young city which lives with a slow pace that is very easy to get accustomed to. This city is rich in historical monuments of which we recommend the following: Diocletian’s palace (the heart of the city), the Iron Gate, the statue of bishop Gregory of Nin, the cathedral of St. Duje, church of St. Francis, cathedral of St. Peter, the main court, city basement, St. Anne’s monastery and many others.

Hong kong tourism board, fragrance of time — in search of chinese art of scent | chinese culture festival 2024.

tourist board tucepi

The culture of fragrance has a long history in China. The use and appreciation of fragrances were closely intertwined with the aesthetics of life and artistic creation in ancient China. This exhibition showcases a constellation of precious artefacts, including ceramics, bamboo carvings, paintings and bronze objects from the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Shanghai Museum. Spanning from the Neolithic period to the 20th century, this exhibition takes the audience on an olfactory journey across thousands of years, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of Chinese fragrance culture. *This exhibition is part of the Chinese Culture Festival 2024 Image courtesy of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department

A. STATUTORY NUMBERS FOR PREFERENCE IMMIGRANT VISAS

This bulletin summarizes the availability of immigrant numbers during January  for: “Final Action Dates” and “Dates for Filing Applications,” indicating when immigrant visa applicants should be notified to assemble and submit required documentation to the National Visa Center.

Unless otherwise indicated on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website at  www.uscis.gov/visabulletininfo , individuals seeking to file applications for adjustment of status with USCIS must use the “Final Action Dates” charts below for determining when they can file such applications. When USCIS determines that there are more immigrant visas available for the fiscal year than there are known applicants for such visas, USCIS will state on its website that applicants may instead use the “Dates for Filing Visa Applications” charts in this Bulletin.

1.  Procedures for determining dates. Consular officers are required to report to the Department of State documentarily qualified applicants for numerically limited visas; USCIS reports applicants for adjustment of status. Allocations in the charts below were made, to the extent possible, in chronological order of reported priority dates, for demand received by December 4th . If not all demand could be satisfied, the category or foreign state in which demand was excessive was deemed oversubscribed. The final action date for an oversubscribed category is the priority date of the first applicant who could not be reached within the numerical limits. If it becomes necessary during the monthly allocation process to retrogress a final action date, supplemental requests for numbers will be honored only if the priority date falls within the new final action date announced in this bulletin. If at any time an annual limit were reached, it would be necessary to immediately make the preference category “unavailable”, and no further requests for numbers would be honored.

2.  The fiscal year 2024 limit for family-sponsored preference immigrants determined in accordance with Section 201 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) is 226,000.  The worldwide level for annual employment-based preference immigrants is at least 140,000.  Section 202 prescribes that the per-country limit for preference immigrants is set at 7% of the total annual family-sponsored and employment-based preference limits, i.e., 25,620.  The dependent area limit is set at 2%, or 7,320.

3.  INA Section 203(e) provides that family-sponsored and employment-based preference visas be issued to eligible immigrants in the order in which a petition in behalf of each has been filed. Section 203(d) provides that spouses and children of preference immigrants are entitled to the same status, and the same order of consideration, if accompanying or following to join the principal. The visa prorating provisions of Section 202(e) apply to allocations for a foreign state or dependent area when visa issuances will exceed the per-country limit. These provisions apply at present to the following oversubscribed chargeability areas:  CHINA-mainland born, INDIA, MEXICO, and PHILIPPINES.

4.  Section 203(a) of the INA prescribes preference classes for allotment of Family-sponsored immigrant visas as follows:

FAMILY-SPONSORED PREFERENCES

First : ( F1 ) Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens:  23,400 plus any numbers not required for fourth preference.

Second : Spouses and Children, and Unmarried Sons and Daughters of Permanent Residents:  114,200, plus the number (if any) by which the worldwide family preference level exceeds 226,000, plus any unused first preference numbers:

A. ( F2A ) Spouses and Children of Permanent Residents:  77% of the overall second preference limitation, of which 75% are exempt from the per-country limit;

B. ( F2B ) Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 years of age or older) of Permanent Residents:  23% of the overall second preference limitation.

Third : ( F3 ) Married Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens:  23,400, plus any numbers not required by first and second preferences.

Fourth : ( F4 ) Brothers and Sisters of Adult U.S. Citizens:  65,000, plus any numbers not required by first three preferences.

A.   FINAL ACTION DATES FOR FAMILY-SPONSORED PREFERENCE CASES

On the chart below, the listing of a date for any class indicates that the class is oversubscribed (see paragraph 1); "C" means current, i.e., numbers are authorized for issuance to all qualified applicants; and "U" means unauthorized, i.e., numbers are not authorized for issuance. (NOTE: Numbers are authorized for issuance only for applicants whose priority date is earlier than the final action date listed below.)

For January, F2A numbers  EXEMPT from per-country limit  are authorized for issuance to applicants from all countries with priority dates  earlier  than 22OCT19. F2A numbers  SUBJECT to per-country limit  are authorized for issuance to applicants chargeable to all countries EXCEPT MEXICO , with priority dates beginning 22OCT19 and earlier than 01NOV19. All F2A numbers provided for MEXICO are exempt from the per-country limit.

B.  DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS

The chart below reflects dates for filing visa applications within a timeframe justifying immediate action in the application process. Applicants for immigrant visas who have a priority date earlier than the application date in the chart below may assemble and submit required documents to the Department of State’s National Visa Center, following receipt of notification from the National Visa Center containing detailed instructions. The application date for an oversubscribed category is the priority date of the first applicant who cannot submit documentation to the National Visa Center for an immigrant visa. If a category is designated “current,” all applicants in the relevant category may file applications, regardless of priority date.

The “C” listing indicates that the category is current, and that applications may be filed regardless of the applicant’s priority date. The listing of a date for any category indicates that only applicants with a priority date which is earlier than the listed date may file their application.

Visit www.uscis.gov/visabulletininfo for information on whether USCIS has determined that this chart can be used (in lieu of the chart in paragraph 4.A.) this month for filing applications for adjustment of status with USCIS.

5.  Section 203(b) of the INA prescribes preference classes for allotment of Employment-based immigrant visas as follows:

EMPLOYMENT-BASED PREFERENCES

First :  Priority Workers:  28.6% of the worldwide employment-based preference level, plus any numbers not required for fourth and fifth preferences.

Second :  Members of the Professions Holding Advanced Degrees or Persons of Exceptional Ability:  28.6% of the worldwide employment-based preference level, plus any numbers not required by first preference.

Third :  Skilled Workers, Professionals, and Other Workers:  28.6% of the worldwide level, plus any numbers not required by first and second preferences, not more than 10,000 of which to "*Other Workers".

Fourth :  Certain Special Immigrants:  7.1% of the worldwide level.

Fifth :  Employment Creation:  7.1% of the worldwide level, of which 32% are reserved as follows: 20% reserved for qualified immigrants who invest in a rural area; 10% reserved for qualified immigrants who invest in a high unemployment area; and 2% reserved for qualified immigrants who invest in infrastructure projects. The remaining 68% are unreserved and are allotted for all other qualified immigrants.

A.  FINAL ACTION DATES FOR EMPLOYMENT-BASED PREFERENCE CASES

*Employment Third Preference Other Workers Category: Section 203(e) of the Nicaraguan and Central American Relief Act (NACARA) passed by Congress in November 1997, as amended by Section 1(e) of Pub. L. 105-139, provides that once the Employment Third Preference Other Worker (EW) cut-off date has reached the priority date of the latest EW petition approved prior to November 19, 1997, the 10,000 EW numbers available for a fiscal year are to be reduced by up to 5,000 annually beginning in the following fiscal year. This reduction is to be made for as long as necessary to offset adjustments under the NACARA program. Since the EW final action date reached November 19, 1997 during Fiscal Year 2001, the reduction in the EW annual limit to 5,000 began in Fiscal Year 2002. For Fiscal Year 2024 this reduction will be limited to approximately 150.

B.  DATES FOR FILING OF EMPLOYMENT-BASED VISA APPLICATIONS

The chart below reflects dates for filing visa applications within a timeframe justifying immediate action in the application process. Applicants for immigrant visas who have a priority date earlier than the application date in the chart may assemble and submit required documents to the Department of State’s National Visa Center, following receipt of notification from the National Visa Center containing detailed instructions. The application date for an oversubscribed category is the priority date of the first applicant who cannot submit documentation to the National Visa Center for an immigrant visa. If a category is designated “current,” all applicants in the relevant category may file, regardless of priority date.

Visit www.uscis.gov/visabulletininfo for information on whether USCIS has determined that this chart can be used (in lieu of the chart in paragraph 5.A.) this month for filing applications for adjustment of status with USCIS.

B .   DIVERSITY IMMIGRANT (DV) CATEGORY FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY

Section 203(c) of the INA provides up to 55,000 immigrant visas each fiscal year to permit additional immigration opportunities for persons from countries with low admissions during the previous five years.  The NACARA stipulates that beginning with DV-99, and for as long as necessary, up to 5,000 of the 55,000 annually allocated diversity visas will be made available for use under the NACARA program.  This will result in reduction of the DV-2024 annual limit to approximately 54,850.  DV visas are divided among six geographic regions. No one country can receive more than seven percent of the available diversity visas in any one year.

For January , immigrant numbers in the DV category are available to qualified DV-2024 applicants chargeable to all regions/eligible countries as follows. When an allocation cut-off number is shown, visas are available only for applicants with DV regional lottery rank numbers  BELOW  the specified allocation cut-off number:

Entitlement to immigrant status in the DV category lasts only through the end of the fiscal (visa) year for which the applicant is selected in the lottery. The year of entitlement for all applicants registered for the DV-2024 program ends as of September 30, 2024. DV visas may not be issued to DV-2024 applicants after that date. Similarly, spouses and children accompanying or following to join DV-2024 principals are only entitled to derivative DV status until September 30, 2024. DV visa availability through the very end of FY-2024 cannot be taken for granted. Numbers could be exhausted prior to September 30.

C.   THE DIVERSITY (DV) IMMIGRANT CATEGORY RANK CUT-OFFS WHICH WILL APPLY IN FEBRUARY

For February , immigrant numbers in the DV category are available to qualified DV-2024 applicants chargeable to all regions/eligible countries as follows. When an allocation cut-off number is shown, visas are available only for applicants with DV regional lottery rank numbers  BELOW  the specified allocation cut-off number:

D.   EMPLOYMENT FOURTH PREFERENCE (SR) RELIGIOUS WORKERS CATEGORY EXTENDED

H.R. 6363, signed on November 16, 2023, extended the Employment Fourth Preference Certain Religious Workers (SR) category until February 2, 2024.  No SR visas may be issued overseas, or final action taken on adjustment of status cases, after midnight February 1, 2024.  Visas issued prior to that date will be valid only until February 1, 2024, and all individuals seeking admission in the non-minister special immigrant category must be admitted (repeat admitted) into the United States no later than midnight February 1, 2024.

The SR category is subject to the same final action dates as the other Employment Fourth Preference categories per applicable foreign state of chargeability.

Palm Beach Code Enforcement Board chair to resign in July, creating vacancy

Palm Beach is seeking applicants for an opening on its Code Enforcement Board

Palm Beach Code Enforcement Board Chair Bram Majtlis will be stepping down July 18 after leading the board for nearly three years.

Majtlis told the Daily News his resignation was spurred by a yearning to travel around the world.

“I’ve always said when I retire, I’m going to travel for as long as I can do that,” Majtlis said, noting that he and his husband, Nick Gold, are now retired, save for his position on the board.

With travel plans extending well beyond the end of the year, Majtlis said he would have been forced to miss board meetings.

“So out of fairness for my colleagues there, I thought I should not hold on to something that I cannot give myself fully to at this moment,” he said.

Majtlis' tenure on the board began in 2018 when he was appointed as an alternate member by the Town Council. A year later, the council elevated him to a regular member, filling a vacancy left by outgoing member Robert G. Donnelly. In 2021, the board chose Majtlis as its chair.

The Code Enforcement Board hears cases involving violations of the town rules, and imposes administrative fines and other penalties when needed.

"It's not about fining or penalizing residents," Majtlis said. "It's about getting to compliance, doing what you need to do and being a worthy resident of our town by doing your little part in maintaining the town as it should be maintained."

With his departure, the board will vote on a new chair and vice chair during its Aug. 15 meeting, after the Town Council appoints a replacement to take over the remainder of Majtlis’ term, which is set to end April 1, 2025.

The town is accepting applications to fill Majtlis’ seat. Details can be found on the town’s website at the link to Boards and Commissions .

JetBlue basic economy tickets to allow carry-on bags, will remain 'final group to board'

tourist board tucepi

  • JetBlue passengers with basic economy tickets will soon be able to bring a carry-on bag in addition to their personal item.
  • The change takes effect Sept. 4.
  • United Airlines will be one of the only remaining major U.S. carriers that does not allow carry-on bags with a basic economy ticket.

Corrections & Clarifications: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated the date carry-on bags would be available with Blue Basic fares. They will start to be included with those basic economy tickets on Sept. 6.

JetBlue passengers with basic economy tickets will soon be able to bring a carry-on bag in addition to a personal item – so long as space permits.

The airline announced Tuesday that its Blue Basic fares will include carry-on baggage starting Sept. 6, regardless of when the traveler purchased their ticket.

“Carry-on bags are an important piece of travel to customers, and when presented with a choice between JetBlue’s award-winning service and another carrier’s basic offering, we want JetBlue to be the easy winner,” JetBlue’s President Marty St. George, said in a statement. “We’re always looking for ways to evolve our offering in response to customer preferences. This is a win-win as we improve the customer experience and keep JetBlue competitive in our industry.”

JetBlue customers previously had to buy a higher-priced ticket package or pay extra for an even more space seat if they wanted to stow a carry-on in the overhead bin.

When the change takes effect, United Airlines will be one of the only remaining major U.S. carriers that does not allow carry-on bags with a basic economy ticket.

Cruising Altitude: Why airport bathrooms are gaining attention

All airlines still allow a personal item, like a backpack, purse, or laptop bag, which can fit under the seat ahead, on basic economy tickets.

JetBlue acknowledges that even with the allowance, some customers holding Blue Basic tickets may still have to gate check their rollaboards.

“While many of JetBlue’s aircraft are outfitted with larger overhead bins to accommodate more customers, in the event of space constraints, customers may be required to check carry-on bags at the gate for no additional charge,” the airline’s statement said. “Customers who want to board earlier to utilize overhead bin space will now find even more value in purchasing the more flexible Blue fare –JetBlue’s second lowest fare that comes with free advanced seat selection, no cancellation or change fees and general boarding. Blue Basic customers remain the final group to board.”
