BTS want you to visit and love Seoul just like they do

BTS is, undoubtedly, the biggest group in the world right now, conquering one nation after the other with their irresistible K-pop beat and incredible choreographies. The group is currently busy with its world tour, which has just completed its North American and European dates, but even if the seven members of BTS are far from home they never forget their home country, South Korea , or its capital. And that’s exactly why they want you to come and visit the many wonders Seoul has to offer.
The seven Billboard-winning artists are Seoul’s Honorary Tourism Ambassadors, and their latest campaign in collaboration with Visit Seoul (the city’s official tourism agency) has just been released. With the title “Live Seoul like I Do,” it aims to show tourists, fans and everyone in between BTS’ favourite spots around the city.
BTS are musicians, so it makes perfect sense that the way they’re showing what they love about Seoul is a playlist— each member has his own Seoul playlist centred around a particular theme, all presented as video commercials which are already trending all over YouTube.
RM, the group’s leader, shows you around “Extreme Seoul,” like Mount Bukhansan, a favorite destination for climbers; Jin explains all the activities lovers of “Historic Seoul” can do, like watching traditional martial arts; Suga is in charge of “Fashionable Seoul,” which brings visitors right in the middle of the city’s shopping districts; J Hope stays on brand with his “K-Wave Seoul” playlist, which shows you how you can learn to dance like a K-pop star and where to find the best K-pop goods.
Jimin helps you discover “Relaxing Seoul,” for example by kayaking at sunset on Hangang river; V opens the doors of “Exclusive Seoul,” where you can have your own custom-made traditional Korean clothing ; and finally, the group’s youngest member Jungkook takes charge of everyone’s favourite part of a trip, food, with his “Delicious Seoul” playlist.

BTS To Be The Official Seoul Ambassador For The Third Year In A Row
BTS will continue to be the Seoul Ambassador. They have been the ambassadors for the past three years.
The Seoul Tourism Foundation announced on September 9 that BTS would be released to the world video on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram to promote tourism to Korea’s capital on the 13th.
BTS has been the honorary ambassadors for Seoul since 2017.
The promotional video slogan “Live Seoul Like I Do” analyzes the tastes and interests of people visiting Seoul, coexisting with nature, the traditional side and the urban side, re-energizing themselves, and enjoying daily. Seven themes were set from this, including escape, local experiences, fun moments, and vacations in the city.
The BTS members will appear in the promotional videos for each theme, one theme for each member. Jungkook will be promoting natural landscape while RM will be supporting the coexistence of tradition and urban lifestyles. Suga will be focused on re-energizing one’s self, while V will promote daily escapes in Seoul. Jimin will be promoting unique experiences you can only get in Seoul, J-Hope will be spreading joyful moments in the city, and Jin will be showing off a vacation in the city.

A Seoul tourism promotional video for 2023 featuring V, BTS member and Honorary Tourism Ambassador of Seoul, was released on VisitSeoul TV ( https://www.youtube.com/VisitSeoulTV ), the official YouTube channel for Seoul tourism operated by the Seoul Tourism Organization.
The first feature video, New Tradition, introduces Seoul and its capacity to encompass elements of the past in the modern day. The video starts with the Seoul Edition 23 title, juxtaposing V against the Seoul backdrop. It then progresses to show how the traditional marks and symbols of the city remain incorporated in our daily lives in modernized form, such as the Y2K fashion found at Dongmyo Market, a modern café in a traditional market, and the media façade exhibition in Gwanghwamun Square. The video wraps up with the message, Seoul, Make It Yours, to encourage global viewers to seize the opportunity to experience Seoul in the here and now.
The second feature video, Nature in the City, slated to be unveiled on September 8, puts the lifestyle of Seoulites on display embracing nature in the bustling downtown area.
In addition, the Seoul Edition Hashtag Event will be held for one month in September on Visit Seoul social media channels. Those who post the designated hashtag with photos of the places they want to visit, or recommend, are entered into a lottery drawing to earn the chance to win a roundtrip air ticket to and from Seoul, as well as two nights voucher at a five-star hotel. The Seoul tourism promotional campaign holds great significance as it showcases the Seoul Metropolitan Government's new brand slogan, Seoul, My Soul, across the world. Labeled with the new brand slogan, campaign content will be released to people around the world using influential outdoor media channels in six major cities, including Times Square of New York City, Tokyo, Shanghai, Bangkok, and Taipei. All displayed content will align with the theme of taking selfies with V in hopes of going viral among fans and other interested viewers in the global community.
The campaign will also be featured across the globe in the U.S., Europe, and other regions of Asia through major television networks, such as CNN and NBC, as well as the press media, New York Times.
Going beyond just promoting Seoul as a tourist destination, the Seoul Tourism Organization will send a strong message to attract tourists by describing a fast-changing Seoul as a "limited-edition item". The campaign also places emphasis on setting the tone for Seoul's image as a city that embraces the "newtro" trend alongside the ability to harmonize itself with the nature in and around Seoul.
