All the way from downunder Australia its Kingswood!
The four piece indie rock band are Australia's answer to Kings of Leon. And I mean Kings of Leon earlier distorted blues rock stuff. The good suff. Not the thrown through the commercial recording machine and packaged up in a case that screams 'I'll play on Capital FM playlist forever.' Kingswood made up of 4 boys from Melbourne get the crowd interacting and do this throughout the whole show. Whether its singing or clapping the band will send you fully satisfied with their services.
Their strongest hits live include; 'Ohio,' my personal favourite, also 'I can feel you dont love me,' probably their most established song. And finally 'Sucker Punch.' On 'Ohio' is where the lead singer Furgus hit those famous Kings of Leon high notes. The crowd go nuts for him and fellow band members. They actually look like KOL in some ways too.

OMG... KDubs NEVER disappoint. These guys are awesome and give it their all. Nice people too. Light show is great. No matter the venue their shows are high energy and the sound has always been amazing.
The cosy setting of The Spotted Cow in Toowoomba made for an intimate feel. A night of great music and a good show! Thank you! Loved every minute of it!

Kingswood Announce 10th Anniversary Tour For 'Microscopic Wars'
“The album itself culminated many years of learning, honing, cultivating [and] experimenting.”
Kingswood (Credit: Dean Butters)
Kingwood have announced a national tour to celebrate the impending tenth anniversary of their renowned debut album, Microscopic Wars .
The eight-date stint will begin in Melbourne on Friday August 2, when the band take over 170 Russell. They’ll head to the Gold Coast next, playing the Coolangatta Hotel on Thursday August 8, before hitting The Triffid in Brisbane the following night (August 9). From there, Kingswood will roll through Sydney (playing the Metro Theatre on Saturday August 10), Newcastle (King Street on Sunday 11), Adelaide (Lion Arts Factory on Friday 16) and Bunbury (Prince Of Wales Hotel on Saturday 17), wrapping up at the Magnet House in Perth on Sunday August 18.
Jacob Fitzgerald & The Electric City will appear alongside Kingswood at all eight shows, with The Delta Riggs on board to join them for the first five. Molly Rocket will also support in Adelaide, with Death By Denim taking their place in Bunbury and Perth. As for their own headlining set, Kingswood will perform Microscopic Wars in its entirety, as well as choice cuts from the rest of their seven-album catalogue.
Tickets go on sale at 10am local time this Friday (May 24), following a pre-sale that kicks off at the same time on Wednesday (May 22) – head here for more info.
In a press release, Kingswood frontman Fergus Linacre said of the celebratory occasion: “The Microscopic Wars era was full of giant leaps into new worlds, previously just a kids’ dream. We embraced every moment with unbridled enthusiasm. Bigger shows, bigger crowds, festivals, international touring, it was a truly magical time that only fuelled our passion and confirmed our chosen path as the right one. So many friendships and memories made remain nurtured and cherished today.
The album itself culminated many years of learning, honing, cultivating [and] experimenting. We threw everything we had at the chance to go to Nashville and record with producer Vance Powell . We also met our now-longtime collaborator Eddie Spear , who engineered the album. Nashville inspired us and we’ve returned there for most of our subsequent records.

We are well aware of the impact that album had and remains to have on our devoted fans. For a band that shifts genre freely and willingly it can be difficult to move with us, and we know we have our own army of ‘frogstompers’. So we cannot wait, genuinely we couldn’t be more pumped to honour this album by playing it in full, along with other hard-charging heavy Kingswood tunes, and get nostalgic with the fans that helped throw our little band onto the big stage.”

Ten years ago, KINGSWOOD firmly staked their claim as one of Australia’s finest new voices in rock music with the release of a dynamic and electrifying debut album, MICROSCOPIC WARS . Following a string of successful EP releases that helped define the band’s early sound and generate momentum and fan bases around Australia, when it came time for Kingswood to deliver their first studio album, they went big.
Drenched in rhythm, carried by the band’s strong chemistry and bolstered by a confidence and swagger felt between songwriters Alex Laska and Fergus Linacre, MICROSCOPIC WARS heralded not just an exciting jump off point for the Melbourne group; for fans, it was the start of a journey with a band whose ambition would see them navigate a diverse range of music influences to follow.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the MICRO WARS era, Kingswood are taking their ARIA Award nominated record around the country this August. Joining them on tour at all stops will be Melbourne's JACOB FITZGERALD & THE ELECTRIC CITY, while in Adelaide and shows in Perth and Bunbury respectively, fierce talent MOLLY ROCKET and DEATH BY DENIM will be opening for their hometowns. And, for their very first time touring together, Kingswood will be joined on all East Coast dates by THE DELTA RIGGS; the beloved group enjoying their ascendancy as one of the country’s finest rock groups at the same time as Kingswood prolific rise. For the bands and fans alike, this type of tour is one that has been a long time in the making — now ready to be devoured and enjoyed by all.
Kingswood are excited to breathe new life into this beloved material, with a live show set to impress and show love to the music, but also to the fans – longtime and new alike – who have been part of the journey.

Fergus Linacre, Kingswood
MICROSCOPIC WARS brought Kingswood to Nashville for the first time, the band recording at Blackbird Studio with multiple Grammy Award winning producer and engineer, Vance Powell (Jack White, Arctic Monkeys). Featuring now seminal favourite tracks including ‘Micro Wars’, ‘Ohio’, ‘ICFTYDLM’ and ‘Sucker Punch’, MICROSCOPIC WARS put Kingswood on the map, taking them around Australia numerous times – a crucial step in the development of their powerful sound as a live unit.
Their time spent in Nashville was the beginning of a long-lasting love for the American city, and has since become a second home of sorts for Kingswood as they would go on to record 2016’s After Hours, Close To Dawn, and 2020’s Juveniles in the iconic music city.
Ten years and six studio albums on, Kingswood remain one of Australia’s hardest working bands but still, there is time to reflect on and celebrate the project that in many ways, started it all.
KINGSWOOD release latest track ‘ONE TOO MANY TIMES’
From forthcoming album ‘home’, out february 24th - on tour now.
5 February 2023 The Rockpit
Continuing on from the success of previous singles ‘Burning Holes’ & ‘Good Whiskey’, Kingswood today, carry on teasing out their forthcoming record, ‘Home’ ( February, 24th) , with the latest track ‘One Too Many Times’ a country-rock tinged ode to leavin’ town and savouring a romance that once was.
Finding renewed confidence & purpose, ‘One Too Many Times’ highlights the phenomenal musicianship apparent in the Kingswood quartet, the band reaching higher & soaring further than ever before.
“One Too Many times is the celebration of hopeful sorrow, a staple in the emotional catalogue of the Kingswood repertoire and something synonymous with country and rock’n’roll classics for that matter. The content suggests lament entwined with that of longing and separation but shrouded in the gusto and bravado of overdriven guitars harmonizing furiously over extended solos to not only accept the proposition, but to embrace it with a fervour that serves as the fuel for courage to continue on. To stare at the face of unwavering adversity and laugh, boldly, and with guitars in tow.” KINGSWOOD
‘Home’ finds Kingswood with, hands down their strongest writing & performances to date, heralding a significant return to form for the critically acclaimed 4-piece. The competence of rich acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies between Alexander Laska and Fergus Linacre finds the band sounding more assured than ever. Kingswood recorded the record at Newmarket Studios in Melbourne, and it was mixed and mastered in Nashville by revered American engineer Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlisle).
Following on from a massive 30+ date international tour that brought Kingswood to crowds in Nashville, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia, the Melbourne favourites returned to Australia galvanized for what the New Year would bring. For their legions of fans in Australia, Kingswood have been responsible for some of the best live rock and roll experiences for well over a decade.
And now, as the release of Home beckons this year, Kingswood are undertaking their biggest tour to date, touring nationwide on the record-breaking 120+ date ‘HOMETOWNS’ tour. Taking place over six months in a custom-modified tour van, Kingswood kicked things off at the iconic Tamworth Country Music Festival.

KINGSWOOD – Hometowns 2023 Tour
About this tour.
After a massive 30 date tour throughout Europe this year, Australian rock band Kingswood are returning home and excited to announce their biggest tour to date. The “Hometowns” tour will see the band undertake more shows (70 + dates) than ever on record in the history of Australia, specially modifying a coach to sustain the overwhelmingly extensive undertaking from January 2023.
Coinciding with the tour announcement, Kingswood have released their new single ‘Burning Holes’. This is hands down the best writing to come from the Kingswood camp since in recent times and heralds a significant return to form for the critically acclaimed 4-piece. The new single is the first track from their forthcoming studio album “Home” coming out in February 2023. The new album ‘Home’ is melodically rich in Americana vibes and bluesy rock after being mixed and mastered in Nashville by revered American engineer Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlisle).
Kingswood return with ‘Burning Holes’ and announce fourth album, 60-date tour
‘Home’ will be released in February of 2023
Kingswood have returned with their first new song in more than two and a half years – a slow-burning acoustic tune titled ‘Burning Holes’ – as well as news of their upcoming fourth album, and an incredibly huge tour to support it.
In a press release, the band explained that ‘Burning Holes’ was recorded “all live, all in one performance, dedicated and honest”, noting that the track’s genesis was “incredibly straightforward – set up, play and sing”. On the process, they continued: “We just kept tracking until one of the performances felt reflective of everything we set out to achieve emotionally and what you’re hearing is it.”
Lyrically, the band said ‘Burning Holes’ explores themes of “solace, resolve and independence”. They elaborated: “Whilst initial inclinations might appear as longingly and melancholy, a subversive celebration of acceptance and contentment begins to resound, tied into the optimistic sounds of the harmonic consideration and emotional tones.
“The experience echoes the writing of classic country tropes where sorrow and hope clash in a beautiful duet.”
Have a listen to ‘Burning Holes’ below:
‘Burning Holes’ arrives as the first preview of Kingswood’s fourth studio album, ‘Home’, which is set for release in February. It follows up on their March 2020 album ‘Juveniles’ , as well as the extra records ‘Reveries’ – a collection of re-done songs from ‘Juveniles’ – and ‘A Kingswood Christmas’ , both of which also landed in 2020. An exact release date for ‘Home’ is yet to be confirmed.

Also announced today (October 20) was the “first phase” of what Kingswood say will be “the greatest tour ever undertaken in Australia”. Between next month and mid-June, the band will cover a total of 60 cities, including 26 in New South Wales, 13 in Queensland, eight in Victoria, seven in Western Australia, five in South Australia and one in the ACT.
The band also noted that there are “a lot more [dates] to be announced next year”, with legs in Tasmania and the Northern Territory due to be revealed in the coming months. It’ll be their biggest tour yet, and to accomodate for it, they’ll build their own custom tour bus.
“In Europe and America we tour in a sleeper bus [and] it works over there because cities are so close,” they said. “This doesn’t work in Australia unless you’re going rural, town to town. Which is what we are doing. But no sleeper bus like this exists back home so we are building our own just for this tour.”
Tickets for all of the shows go on sale at 9am local time tomorrow (October 21) – find them here .

KINGSWOOD Release New Album HOME & Prepare For Upcoming Tour
- Written by HEAVY
Share This:
The ever-evolving story of KINGSWOOD births a new chapter with the release of their long-awaited new studio album, HOME .
Having teased the record in recent months with dynamic singles including Good Whiskey, Burning Holes and One Too Many Times , KINGSWOOD set it up early that this album would feature the band’s most cohesive and representative material to date.
Incorporating myriad sonic influences and a reinvigorated approach to their musicianship, HOME is more than just another step forward for the ARIA and APRA-nominated group – it is a realisation of the last few years of tireless work and exploration of new sounds.
“‘Home’ is an age-old tale of young love being forced to broach the harsh face of life, a duality of which we all contend with at some point. Old roots meet new, whereby the branching can create opprobrious chasms. These chasms however lead to repair, growth, flourishing, the cycle of the ever blossoming flower, the very fuel of life itself, where all beginnings have an end, and appropriately all ends have a beginning. Home can represent a place in time and space or it can be the very moment, the air that allows one to breathe life into consciousness. It’s the rising sun of the album, a sonic manifestation of Kingswood’s own new dawn.” ALEX LASKA, KINGSWOOD
The release of HOME follows on from a successful return to touring for KINGSWOOD. The band spent a large portion of 2022 touring their acclaimed third studio record Juveniles (and it’s inspired companion album, Reveries ) internationally; completing a 30+ date tour that took KINGSWOOD to crowds in Nashville, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia before bringing them home to Melbourne.
2023 has already begun in a massive way for the band, as they currently take their music around Australia on a record-breaking 120+ date tour. Customising their own tour bus for the journey, KINGSWOOD are traversing each corner of the country, rolling into town with their electric live show, ready to burn. With tour dates set to take them through into June, KINGSWOOD roll on, with more dates to be announced soon.
