My family of three, including a teenage boy, only had six days in Spain over Thanksgiving week. Our Zicasso travel partner helped us narrow down our itinerary to Seville and Madrid. He arranged all of our transportation, such as transfers from the airport/train station/hotels. The drivers were so courteous and always prompt. We always had a luxury Mercedes van. We landed in Madrid in the morning and went to the train station to take a three-hour ride to Seville. This worked out because check-in times for hotels are usually around 3pm. We chose first-class train tickets, which included access to the VIP lounge in case we had to wait. The hotel suggested by our travel agent was charming and clean, and the front desk folks were very warm and welcoming. It had a daybed, so the three of us could comfortably fit in one room. The bathroom was updated and the water pressure was great! Seville is stunning. Our agent arranged a flamenco show the night we arrived and provided many tapas dining recommendations. The next day we had a guide who took us to the royal palace and the cathedral. They arranged the ticket purchases ahead of time, so we stood in a short line and went into the palace right away. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The palace was amazing and the cathedral was a wonder. We learned a good deal of Spanish history. We had the afternoon on our own to walk through the park and see the esplanade. Seville felt very safe and we walked everywhere. We took an early train back to Madrid. Our tour operator allowed us to choose our own hotel in Madrid because we wanted to use points. The service was great, and it was a very busy hotel. The travel company arranged a tour of the Prado, the guide for which was excellent, very knowledgeable, and animated! We learned so much and felt as if we saw the major art pieces. We had another guide give us a tour of the palace in Madrid and the famous plazas, and that was also wonderful. The guides spoke English very well and took pride in what they did. They also bought the tickets in advance so we didn’t have to wait in line. We walked through the park and toured the Reina Sofia on our own. It was so nice to have someone take care of the details and we had a relaxing, stress-free vacation, while seeing most of the major sites. We would definitely use this travel company on our next trip to Spain.

Our Zicasso tour company did an outstanding job of helping us plan a trip to Morocco and southern Spain. Attention was paid to specific places we wanted to visit, along with attention to the price point. While traveling, we felt very connected, with regular check-ins on how things were unfolding. At one point, we needed a doctor, which our travel agent arranged with our tour guide. All our guides and drivers were top-notch. Lastly, we were able to celebrate the last night of our visit to Madrid by enjoying a glass of wine with our agent. We also liked the idea of suggested places to eat rather than booking each evening, as sometimes we wanted simple rather than special!

In the more than ten years I have been developing groups for international travels, I must say that you have done the best tour for us than anyone!  The hotels were very good, the guides were good to excellent, the buses arrangements worked out well, and the meals were always excellent with some unique experiences. Very Fun! Everyone on the tour has been talking about what a wonderful tour you provided. Most of us are getting together again on Sunday, April 8 th  to share experiences and photos, and have some fun reflecting on what a wonder tour you arranged.

The tour used local tour guides besides the overall tour guide that accompanied us on the bus. The local tour guides were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Accommodations were very good including the breakfast buffets. The rest of the meals were not good, bland, with no options, and in some cases drinks were not included (we would find out at the meal). The meals were the most disappointing. Met some great people.

The tour was great. The places we visited were very interesting. Our guide, Sergio, were one of the best part. He was very knowledgeable and very friendly. He made the tour.

Colors of Charming Spain - 9 Days

Hotels, tour guides, transpiration, transfers all very good. Our only complaint was the bus cleanliness, we rode in from Madrid for several days. When we started our long drive on Tuesday morning, our tray tables had not been cleaned. We had dirty napkins, food crumbs on the tray tables. Other folks also had dirty tray tables. The driver should clean all tray tables every night. Especially at the start of a trip and during Covid!

Charming Spain & Portugal - 10 Days

We enjoyed the trip for the most part. The bus was not as luxurious as we hoped it would be. We were glad it was not a full tour as it would have been very crowded sitting side by side for hours at a time We thought there would be washroom facilities onboard. The WiFi was spotty, at best. All the tour guides were excellent. The hotels were very nice except for the one in Cordoba. The meal served was adequate but the atmosphere was not a 4 star. We changed buses twice which was an inconvenience but can only imagine the logistics of all the tours you offer. I would have preferred an English only speaking tour. At times, you were tired of listening to Spanish and Portuguese before they spoke in English. We saw some beautiful spots and the optional tours were great. I believe the Sintra tour should be part of the trip.

Colors of Spain - 8 Days

Positives: Really liked the itinerary! - Very nice, comfortable buses. - Enjoyed tours in English by local guides in Merida, Cordoba and Granada. - Hotels were either good or excellent. - Good organization. Everything was on schedule. Nobody got lost or forgotten. This is something I admire! Negatives: -Person meeting me at the airport did not have my name on her sign. I passed her about 20 times before asking other people holding signs to call the "emergency number" an hour later. - Hearing too much Spanish and competing for time in English from the tour guides. Ideally, people speaking different languages should be on different buses. Wish we spent an evening in Toledo. Overall we had a very good time. Thank you!

Best of Portugal & Andalusia - 9 Days

The tour was amazing! If you have not been to Portugal or Spain you will want to go on this trip. We covered so many beautiful cities. We were on the bus a lot but it was good down time to rest. The tour was well organized. The Bus was big and comfortable. Wi-Fi was not always working because of bad connections. One bus had USB rechargers. Tour guides- The first one spoke a little english. He was friendly! The second tour guide spoke english but it was hard to understand. In the big cities we had local tour guides who were very good and could translate to English. Food- was good and eating with the group gave us a chance to get to know each other. Hotels- Very nice and I think all of them were in areas you could go out at night for food and shopping. One hotel was across the street from the beach. Driver- very good. He locked the bus so you could leave things in your seat. I also was in charge of luggage.

Discovery of Spain - 10 days

This tour did everything I wanted it to do: it was inexpensive; it handled transportation and accommodations; it handled tickets to major attractions (Goya painting in Toledo, Grand Mosque in Cordoba, and Alhambra in Granada). The premium package was worth it for the extra meals, camaraderie with other travelers, the flamenco show, river cruise, Toledo tour and Spanish Village on Montjuic. I think the tour descriptions are a perk, but there was not much storytelling, just quick facts. I thought the tour was in English not bilingual. I don't have any problem with other language speakers, but it took twice as long to hear anything. And the poor tour guides were hacked out. They put us into separate groups when they could, and that was great. But wow, it is hard to ask the bilingual guides anything as they are constantly translating. Also, the provided meals in the premium package got pretty redundant. Maybe that is a feature of Spanish cuisine. Salt seems to be the primary seasoning in everything. It got heavy after a while. I had a hard time accommodating my non-carb diet to the limited offerings. One of the hotel dinners was terrible, frozen chicken patty reheated on a plate with unflavored veggies--it was like a flavorless tv dinner. Then we stopped at truck stops 4 times on travel days. How hard would it be to pull into one of the many pretty little towns for lunch and offer a bit more beauty and food variety? With the least expensive hotel, we slept far from the centers of towns. It took longer to take transportation when exploring on our own. I think I would pay more to get situated closer to the action for the amount of time we had. It was an economic tour, but I guess you get what you pay for.
