Caracol Mayan Ruin

Caracol is located within the Chiquibul Reserve just at the border with Guatemala and is a major site in Mayan History. This tour offers a walk-through history. Caracol was founded before the Common Era around 1200 years ago, in the Classic Period between 600 and 900 AD.

Cahal Pech Mayan Ruin

Cahal Pech is situated on the top of a hill in a serene jungle, just a fifteen minute walk in San Ignacio Town. This 22.39 acres of interesting archaeological site, Cahal Pech is Yucatecan Mayan meaning when translated in Maya Yucatecan language means “Place of Ticks” and was coined with this name in the 1950’s when the area around the site was used as a pasture.

Xunantunich Mayan Ruin

The 30 minute drive leads to a hand cranked ferry which leads across the Emerald Green Mopan River to Xunantunich Mayan Site. At the site, the guide takes you into an exploration of the EL Castillo temple which is approximately 130 ft tall and enjoy the panoramic view with a glimpse of the neighbouring country, Guatemala. You might also be lucky to run into some wildlife and get glimpse of monkeys, birds, spiders and much more, while trekking the site.

Xunantunich & Cahal Pech

The Cahal Pech tour starts for a 15 minute drive through the scenic San Ignacio Town towards the Mayan Site. The 2 hour tour encompasses the 22.39 acres of archaeological structures. Cahal Pech or the “Place of Ticks” when translated in Yucatec Maya, was coined this name in the 1950’s when the area around the site was used as a pasture.

Tikal Mayan Ruin

Tikal or “Yax Mutal” is one of Guatemala’s largest archaeological sites located in the Tikal National Park – a UNESO World Heritage Site – found 19 miles north of Lake Peten Itza in the Northern region of El Peten. Tikal’s architectural features coupled with the rich history of the daily lives and practices of the Mayas, is an experience back in time to the prehisotric human civilization that once lived there.

Your pick-up is at 8:00 am, destined to Hanna’s Stables, a family owned horseback riding farm with over 45 horses. On arrival, you will be greeted by the guide, who will assist with mounting your horse. The route to Xunantunich is along a well-maintained trail through a large private farm, with views of the river bank at San Jose Succotz Village where you will cross the Mopan River on a hand operated cable ferry which leads to the destination site.

The Belize Zoo

The Belize Zoo was formed in 1983, becoming the home for a group of animals that were being used featured in the filming of a documentary of the tropical forests at the time. The zoo is located 29 miles from Belize City on the George Price highway

The Mountain Pine Ridge reserve is over 100,000 acres of mainly granite and limestone. It is home to pine forests, river valleys, caves, waterfalls, and streams. The site is popular for its natural habitat such as 1,000 ft Falls, Rio On Pools, Rio Frio Cave and Big Rock Falls home to numerous wildlife conductive to peaceful birdwatching.

Your guide fastened you to a harness which is attached to a cable . You are then instructed on how to push off from the platform and soar into the forest canopy. The aerial jungle tour takes 30 minutes of zip lining through a series of 6 platforms.

However, as a smart traveler, we encourage you to purchase  Travel Insurance  to cover cancellation fees, date changes, or unforeseen circumstances, as we have strict cancellation policies.

Standard Individual  DEPOSIT POLICY  

To confirm a request, a nonrefundable deposit of US $25 is required immediately for a (one) service.

When they are booked individually. This does not apply for group services, group bookings, personalized itineraries, and other combined services.

The balance will be processed within 16 days of the service begin date.

All our rates are quoted in USD dollars.

Please consider that your card issuer may have international transaction fees.

Take note that US $1.00 is converted to Belize $2.00.

Barefoot Services reserves the right to charge or not charge your credit card a reservation deposit. This may apply to a repeat customer, a client who is deciding on other services, and other kinds of scenarios.

Cancellation Policy

Standard Individual CANCELLATION POLICY

• Cancellations are only accepted in writing to  [email protected]
• Cancellations received more than 15 days prior to the service begin date receive no refund of the non-refundable US $25.00 paid.
• If a deposit was not charged for the one service booked (for whatever reason), at that time, your card will be charged $25.00.
• Refunds relate to the total amount that was due on your 2nd payment (balance that was due). This is because your initial deposit ($25) is non-refundable.
• 85% refund – Cancellations received within 15 days of the service begin date
• 50% refund – Cancellations received within 7 days
• No refund – Cancellations received within 3 days of the service begin date

Buses to San Ignacio Town The buses or any other public transportation are most likely to be overcrowded, making stops at every village along the way. The express buses are a cheaper alternative compared to the shuttle, with runs every half hour from downtown San Ignacio.
