What if its just my boyfriend and I? lol No huge group, but I'm super interested in this tour!

When I participated in this tour it was a part of my work group. We had about 22 people in total. However I am sure that there is a minimum limit to when they would go. I would suggest you call them to see what that threshold is. It's really really… more

The group had such a blast!!! Though it was chilly outside, it was perfect inside the trolley. Tim was funny, hospitable, and knowledgeable. They were so accommodating to the group by being flexible with pickup and drop-off location. Really fun time!

Holy shit, what a gas... As part of our social engagement for work. We were designated to go on a bus tour of the Boston scene. Not necessarily the usual Boston, the underground Boston. Mobsters and Lobsters is a mafia story laden trip that ends up at the south shore popular lobster eatery. Although Mother Nature and the traffic in downtown Boston decided yo play games with us the owner who's name actually is Tom Collins, started off with a quick quip yo get the folks settled and the first round of beverages were begun. Tom brings us around to the spectacular locations and spots where specific mobsters from the years past were doing their cunning and not so cunning work. Tom's knowledge for this thoroughly interesting topic is unmatched. His serious knowledge of the history of other significant historical places and events speckled with his dry "Bastan" humor. Made this trip extremely worthwhile. The duration was four hours long which also included a Lobster dinner at a local eatery on the south Boston harbor. I haven't laughed this hard in a long while. If you are in beantown for a spell. I highly recommend you and you motley crew join Tom for an interesting alcohol added trip back in time. I am positive your jaws and cheeks will be sore from laughing so hard. Be aware this is an "R" rated trip! But very worth it. Thanks Tom for making this a great memorable evening.

Tom and Katie the lobster were great! The tour was informative and fun, and Tom was very entertaining. Drinks were great and provided during the tour, and my lobster dinner was excellent.

I went on the mobsters and lobsters trolley for a corporate event and WOW!!! BEST SIGHTSEEING TOUR/TROLLEY ever . My company plans trips yearly to a new place with some kind of sightseeing or activity. This is by far my favorite of anything we have ever done. We learned a lot of interesting mobster history, in an open air trolley, where they served us beer,,wine, white claws on the trolley. Perfectly timed bathroom stops . BUT for me ---- what made the experience so awesome was our driver and owner of this company . He was so funny he had our trolley laughing all day long. I think he could have a second career as a stand up comic funny.... And that my friends is very hard to find . I would highly recommend this for your next corporate sightseeing activity.

Super fun day driving around Boston and learning all about the mobster criminal history of the city. Tom was very engaging and made us laugh and taught us all a lot. Even on a dreary rainy day we had a blast. Highly recommend!

Tommy and Torrie do an awesome job of making your event non stop fund and comfort. And they have fun with you! Used their trolley to make a pick up and drop off at cruise port in Boston a load of fun for a group of 12 and way better than trying to figure out parking for 12 for a week in Boston!

Tom and Victoria are the best tour guides you can ask for! They're both knowledgable and had energy throughout the entire tour. After our first stop, which was Fenway Park, we were actually running a bit late to our lobster dinner so they grabbed snacks for the group. They even remembered that some people were vegan so they even considered that as well! We were served beer on tap and bottled beer where they had a huge selection of amazing beer! They didn't just hand you the bottle, they actually poured the beer in a Mobster and Lobster customized cup that you get to bring home! This couple did an amazing job keeping the energy up and were super entertaining with their story of the city and Italian and Irish mobs!

I booked a Mobsters & Lobsters tour of Boston for a group of out-of-town colleagues who were in Boston for a few days for a company meeting. The whole process went perfectly smoothly and the tour was a hoot! Booking the tour was easy and the M&L staff know Boston very well, so they were able to suggest good pick-up and drop-off spots. The tour was fun and informative, but most importantly the tour guides are so funny and engaging! We had a small group of 8 people and the guide made every effort to keep everyone laughing and engaged. Dinner at Venezia was OK, not amazing. The view was nice and service was attentive but the food was about average. The M&L joined us for the meal and kept us entertained with stories of Boston history. At the end of the tour, our guides were kind enough to make multiple stops to drop everyone off at several different hotels. Flawless service, door to door!

Omg is all I can say. This is the best tour of Boston I have ever taken. There was so much I had learned and being from Charlestown I was just amazed. Tom and Victoria were awesome answered all my questions. The divining experience again was excellent I couldn't of found a better restraunt to go to. Food was excellent. Tom was so comical during the ride through as was Victoria. I hope they upgrade and do other parts of Boston because I will be back. So worth the money and time.

Mobsters and Lobsters is a trolley tour around Boston that melds the mystique of mobsters with the decadence of lobsters. Husband and wife team Tom and Tori Collins run the tour out of a big blue trolley. Starting in the North End and winding through Boston’s historic streets, learning bits of history along the way. Why lobster roll prices in boston have gotten so high.

It’s the first day of summer, and we’re going to feel it. Today will be the hottest of  this week’s heat wave , with temperatures expected to reach 98 in Boston (and feel like 102).   Be sure to  stay cool  by hydrating and staying indoors in air conditioning (if you can). Also keep an extra close eye on your  back seats  and  pets . And if you want  heat safety tips from a real expert , NPR spoke with Jane Gilbert, who’s considered the world’s first ever chief heat officer.

Now, to other important summer discussions and, of course, news:

Shelling out:  Massachusetts’ lobster roll game is strong. But if you want to indulge, you’ll need to pay even more this year for the summer seafood staple. For example, at The Barking Crab in Boston’s Seaport, a cold lobster roll will cost you $38, a hot one $39. Alex Morris, the restaurant’s director of operations, told WBUR’s Amy Sokolow those prices are up $7 from two years ago.

• Lobster rolls have never been a cheap eat, but why the higher-than-usual price tag? Local lobstermen  say the lobster haul is lower than usual  due to climate change and restrictions on where they can catch them. The costs of other ingredients (inflation!) and labor are also up.
• Is sticker shock affecting demand at restaurants? Not yet, for the Barking Crab, at least. According to Morris, the restaurant sold more than 6,000 lobster rolls last month. “I think the demand is high because it’s not just the lobster rolls that are expensive,” Morris said. “Going out to eat is just getting more expensive and I think the consumer understands that.”
• News you can use: The prices around Boston seem to range from $35-$40,  according to Boston.com , which also put together a helpful list of how much lobster rolls cost right now, organized by price point.

On Beacon Hill:  Gov. Maura Healey is expected to sign a bill into law today that outlaws sharing explicit images and videos without the subject’s consent. Massachusetts is currently one of just two states (the other being South Carolina) without a ban on “revenge porn,” or what advocacy groups call “image-based sexual assault.”

• What they’re saying: Nithya Badrinath, the policy director at Jane Doe Inc., an advocacy group against sexual assault and domestic violence, told Amy that the ban is a long-time coming, but the group is “really happy” with the “stronger bill” Healey is signing. Campus layoffs:  Emerson College is planning to cut staff and faculty positions due to an enrollment decline leaders say is linked to campus protests over the war in Gaza this spring. In  a letter obtained by The Boston Globe , Emerson President Jay Bernhardt wrote the one-year enrollment slump was partially caused by “student protests targeting our yield events and campus tours, and negative press and social media generated from the demonstrations and  arrests .” The letter did not mention the specific number of positions being affected.

• Bernhardt also said  this year’s FAFSA disruptions  and national trends away from small schools may have added to the decline.

PSA:  Allston Yards  will open today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new development includes housing, office and lab space, a community green space and retail stores, including a fancy new Stop & Shop. (The grocery store chain owned the site of the now-Allston Yards and has operated a store there for more than 20 years.) The new Stop & Shop will open its doors to shoppers tomorrow.

School’s out:  Students at four Boston Public Schools are getting a bonus perk from the Celtics’ NBA championship. BPS officials say Snowden International High School, Josiah Quincy Upper School, Josiah Quincy Elementary School and The Eliot will all be closed tomorrow due to “logistical headaches” caused by  the Celtics parade . That means the last day of classes for those schools is today. Happy summer break!
