A trained Allianz Arena stadium guide takes you through the Arena for 45 minutes, explaining everything a soccer fan would love to know.

You also get to experience the Allianz Arena’s atmosphere from the players’ perspective as you walk through the tunnel.

Sightseeing in Allianz Arena

Things to know before booking tickets

The tickets for the Allianz Arena Tour are available at the stadium or online in advance.

However, booking your tickets online is recommended to save the hassle of lining up at a counter and wasting time.

Go to the ticket booking page, select your preferred date and number of tickets, and buy the tickets immediately.

After the purchase, you will receive the tickets in your email.

You can show the ticket at the gate on the day of your visit and walk into the stadium.

How long does Allianz Arena take

The guided Allianz Arena tour lasts 45 minutes, and then you need 60 to 90 minutes to explore the FC Bayern Museum.

You may need more time at the Bayern Museum to see all the trophies Bayern has won, learn about its top stars, and listen to fascinating stories.

Tips for a better Allianz Arena tour

  • FC Bayern Munich’s Arena tour involves considerable walking and the use of stairways. Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • While you can take as many personal photographs and videos as you want, the use of photographic, video, and audio recording equipment for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
  • Don’t bring along pushchairs and strollers since they are not permitted on the tours.

Allianz Arena lights

Allianz Arena is Europe’s biggest stadium, with surrounding outdoor LED lighting for dynamic mood lighting.

Earlier, the stadium could only project three colors – red, blue, and white.

However, by the end of 2014, Allianz Arena installed new LED lighting on the facade, producing 16 million different colors.

The Allianz Arena gets illuminated for approximately three hours from sunset on non-matchdays.

The Munich stadium also lights up on certain evenings to celebrate special events.

More than 300,000 LED lights — over a surface area of 26,000 square meters — light up the stadium facade’s inflatable outer membrane.

The authorities have also introduced lighting to enhance the action on the pitch inside the Allianz Arena.

For example, a Mexican wave can be created to celebrate a goal during the match.

Check out how FC Bayern Munich celebrated Christmas with a lighting show inside the stadium.

History of Allianz Arena

FC Bayern Munich and their opponents, TSV 1860 Munich, used the city’s Olympic Stadium as their home ground.

In the mid-1990s, the clubs decided that the Olympiastadion built for the 1972 Summer Olympics would no longer be enough.

They had two options – reconstruct the Olympiastadion or build a new stadium.

The stadium’s foundation stone was laid on 21 Oct 2002, and construction got completed on 30 Apr 2005.

It was in time for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Swiss architect firm Herzog & de Meuron built the soccer stadium at the cost of €340 million.

The first official match held was a game between TSV 1860 Munchen and against FC Nuremberg.

Allianz, the financial services provider, secured the new stadium’s naming rights and signed a 30-year sponsorship deal.

And that is the reason why this football stadium in Munich is referred to as Allianz Arena.

Check out this Allianz Arena 360 panorama tour if you want to explore the stadium from your armchair.

Gazprom Arena

Gazprom Arena

Club: FC Zenit | Opening: 2017 | Capacity: 68,000 seats

History and description

Gazprom Arena, also known as Saint Petersburg Stadium, Zenit Arena, and Krestovsky Stadium, got built to serve as a new modern home of FC Zenit and as one of the playing venues of the 2018 World Cup. It was built in place of the former Kirov Stadium .

Planning for the new stadium began late 2005, and first construction works started by the end of 2008. The stadium was initially planned to be completed in 2009, but works were hampered by a series of delays, including a redesign to comply with FIFA requirements and fraud investigations.

Works finally sped up in 2016 and the stadium was completed in April 2017, however overall costs had soared past $1 billion, which made it one of the most expensive stadiums ever built.

The first official match at Saint Petersburg Stadium was played on 22 April 2017 when Zenit hosted Ural for a league match (2-0).

The stadium has been designed by Japanese architecture firm Kisho Kurokawa and resembles the form of a spaceship with the roof held up by four masts. It has some similarities with that of the Japanese Toyota Stadium , which was designed by the same firm.

Saint Petersburg Stadium was one of the playing venues of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, during which it hosted four first round group matches, a quarter final, the semi final between France and Belgium (1-0), and the match for third place between Belgium and England (2-0). It also hosted four matches during the 2017 Confederations Cup, including the final.

After the World Cup, the stadium took the sponsor name Gazprom Arena.

In 2021, the stadium was once again a playing venue during a major tournament when it hosted six first round group matches and the quarter final between Spain and Switzerland (1-1) during the 2020 European Championships .

The Gazprom Arena has been selected to host the 2022 Champions League final .

How to get to the Gazprom Arena

The Gazprom Arena is located on the western tip of Krestovsky Island in the north-west of St. Petersburg. The stadium lies about 7.5 kilometres away from Palace Square in St. Petersburg’s city centre.

The nearest metro station is Krestovsky Ostrov on the purple line 5, which runs right through central St. Petersburg. It is still a 25-minute walk from the station to the stadium through Maritime Victory Park though.

Bus 10 and 25 stop a little closer to the stadium, but still a 15-minute walk away. Bus 10 runs through central St. Petersburg while bus 25 runs through northern parts of St. Petersburg.

Eat, drink, and sleep near the Gazprom Arena

The Gazprom Arena is located on the tip of Krestovsky Island surrounded on three sides by the Baltic Sea. On its eastern side lie various sports facilities, the pleasant Maritime Victory Park, including an amusement park, and further on residential areas.

It is a pleasant area on a nice day, which is also popular with the locals. There are furthermore a reasonable number of restaurants in the area, mostly on the southern shore. The nearby Karl-Friedrich Brewhouse has a large beer garden.

There are a few hotels near Saint Petersburg Stadium, but they are all of the luxurious type so expect to pay a hefty price. The Arena Hotel  and Hotel Park Krestovskiy are located right next to the stadium, while Parklane Resort and SPA and Hermes Park Hotel are located closer to the metro station.

Zenit Tickets

Tickets for Zenit games can be bought online , or at the ticket office at the Gazprom Arena.

Ticket prices depend on the opponent, but expect to pay from RUB 400 for an upper tier seat to RUB 1,900 for a central seat at one of the sides.

I came from New Delhi, India to watch WC match # 63. It was between Belgium & England. The experience, both of the match as well as of the stadium left me totally exhilarated. My compliments to the citizens & authorities of Saint Petersburg.

Watching the FIFA match at Saint Petersburg Stadium of Argentina Vs Nigeria was a wonderful experience. Hope to see more. I am an Indian lady watching the match watching the game late, late into the night.

Wolfsburg vs. Bayern Munich: team news, match stats & LIVE blog!

Vincent Kompany makes his Bundesliga debut as Bayern Munich head coach at Wolfsburg's Volkswagen-Arena on Sunday (kick-off: 3.30pm CEST).

Hosts Wolfsburg finished 12th last term, after Ralph Hasenhüttl came in with eight games to go to steer them four points clear of the relegation zone. The Austrian tactician kicked off his first full season in charge with a 1-0 win away to fourth-tier Koblenz in the DFB Cup first round on Monday, Patrick Wimmer scoring the only goal of a keenly contested contest.  Jakub Kaminski has been given a new lease of life under Hasenhüttl, the Polish winger producing three assists across his last four competitive starts. He's expected to retain his place on the left-hand side, with Joakim Mæhle and Rogério among the absentees. Summer signing Mathys Angely , midfielder Aster Vranckx and forward Kevin Behrens  also miss out, but new goalkeeper Kamil Grabara - a two-time Danish Superliga winner with Copenhagen in recent campaigns who kept a UEFA Champions League clean sheet in Munich last November - will start in the No.1 role previously held by Koen Casteels, now of the Saudi Pro League.

Bayern are also up and running, beating Bundesliga's 2 Ulm 4-0 in the DFB Cup to get the Kompany era off to a perfect start. The Belgian takes charge on the back of the record champions' first trophyless season since 2011/12, with the likes of Portugal midfielder João Palhinha and Olympic silver medal-winning winger Michael Olise brought in on the pitch as part of the summer rebuild. After producing an assist from the bench in Ulm, Olise opened the scoring as Bayern thumped Grasshoppers Zürich 4-0 in their final pre-season friendly on Tuesday. Harry Kane - who scored from the bench in the cup - was also on target after helping England reach the UEFA Euro 2024 final earlier in the summer. Olise and Palhinha may begin the Wolfsburg trip among the substitutes following a busy summer of international football, especially given the pre-season form of Mathys Tel , but fellow newcomer Hiroki Ito is unavailable. He's joined on the sidelines by Josip Stanišić - a domestic double winner whilst on loan at Bayer Leverkusen last season. Sacha Boey is expected to deputise at right-back. Raphaël Guerreiro and Alphonso Davies will also battle it out for the left-back berth.
