street fighter 6 gift guide masters deepen bond

Street Fighter 6 World Tour: What to gift the World Warriors

Image of Chris Moyse

I always wanted 20 of these…

In Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 , World Tour allows the custom player protagonist to befriend all 18 members of the latest World Warrior roster. In addition, players can unlock artwork, emotes, camera mode poses, titles, and backstories for each of these nose-breaking chummers. Ultimately, fully “deepening your bond” with a character will unlock their alt attire, along with 10 color variants, for other modes.

Deepening your bond with Ryu, Kimberly, Marisa, and Co. ultimately comes down to leveling up, talking to them, utilizing their styles in World Tour mode, and performing bizarre, non-sequitur missions. But the quickest way to Dee Jay’s heart, much like anybody, is through expenditure. Buy gifts for the characters, and they’ll open up their hearts in no time.

Except Juri, but she’s a bit sad and we need to look after her.

What should I buy the Masters in Street Fighter 6?

So, if you’re looking to offer a little retail therapy to your favorite characters, here is a guide to the best items to buy each fighter, along with where to purchase the item. As I noted in my review , World Tour is a bit shabby in places, feeling a little “Statement of Intent” rather than fully featured. For example, each character only wants one specific gift, which means you basically have to buy it for them 20+ times. Yes, the exact same gift.

I cannot help but feel there were probably bigger plans for adding more gifts, but development time ran out. Oh, and you’ll need this guide, as while some of the gifts make sense, others are just baffling.

  • Luke – Red Elevator 8 Game (Jamaica Merchant)
  • Jamie – Bao Bao Bro Sticker (Jamaica Merchant)
  • Manon – Beaujolais (Jamaica Merchant)
  • Kimberly – Heart of Love DVD (Jamaica Merchant)
  • Marisa – Cold Tomato Soup (France Merchant)
  • Lily – Celery Chips (Jamaica Merchant)
  • JP – Antique Playing Cards (Jamaica Merchant)
  • Dee Jay – Lukewarm Beer (Brazil Merchant)
  • Juri – Wrench (India Merchant)
  • Cammy – Jellied Eel (Jamaica Merchant)
  • Ryu – Instant Soba (Udon Shop, Metro City)
  • Ken – Cook book. COOK BOOK. (Mexico Merchant)
  • Blanka – Knock-off Blanka Chan (Jamaica Merchant)
  • Zangief – Wooden Bear (Russia Merchant)
  • Chun-Li – Canned Herring (Dora Shop, Nayshall)
  • Dhalsim – Mild Curry (Tsanpa Shop, Nayshall
  • E. Honda – Rubber Duckies (Italy Merchant)
  • Guile – Natto (Japan Merchant)

Each of the above items will increase the Master’s respective bond by 5 points, whereas most items only increase it by 2 or 3 points. Further points are earned by winning sparring matches, completing character missions, and giving appreciative answers in conversations. Additionally, generic items such as Double KO Gum, Fighter’s Magazine , and Prepaid Cards increase bonds by between 1-3 points.

sf6 gift guide

Finally, there are special “Ultra” gifts which are unlocked by completing quests for the Masters, these items are one-offs and can only be given to their intended recipient. They add a huge 30-40 points, and are a little more obvious as to their intended owner. (This section is work-in-progress)

  • Luke –  Strawberry Fighter 6 (Get from Ken)
  • Jamie –
  • Manon – Medal (get from Zangief)
  • Kimberly –
  • Marisa –
  • Lily –
  • JP –
  • Dee Jay – HeartBB CD (Get from Luke)
  • Juri – Pricey Check (Get from Manon)
  • Cammy – Neco Keychain (Get from Chun-Li)
  • Ryu – Japanese Confectionary (Get from E. Honda)
  • Ken –
  • Blanka – Locket (Get from Lily)
  • Zangief – Weight Set (Get from Marisa)
  • Chun-Li – Citrus Perfume (Get from Juri)
  • Dhalsim –
  • E. Honda – Tirimasu Boba (Get from Cammy)
  • Guile –

You’ll obviously need top dollar to pay for this stuff, so quick out our guide for quickly earning Zenny in game. Once the respective Master’s bond reaches 100, you have essentially exhausted the unlocks for that character and will also earn their alt costume. There are plans to add further characters to World Tour as the roster expands over the game’s lifetime. But, for now, go and make some friends. And ignore the fact that some of the characters are weirdly aggressive about receiving your gifts.

Except Juri, because she’s a bit sad and we need to look after her…

World Tour gift guide - Street Fighter 6

Want to know what your favorite character likes in Street Fighter 6's World Tour Mode? We've got all of that info right here.

TJ Denzer

If you’ve been playing through World Tour Mode in Street Fighter 6, you’ve probably realized you can give each character gifts. However, it’s worth recognizing that each character likes some gifts more than others. Want to know how to maximize your friendship with a character in the least amount of gifts (and Zenny) necessary? Then you’ll want to follow our World Tour gift guide to make sure you’re giving the right gifts to the right characters!

World Tour gift guide

Every single character in Street Fighter 6’s roster appears as a possible Master you can meet and become the student of, and maxing out your friendship with them is how you unlock their Outfit 2 , among other bonuses. If you’re left guessing at which gifts they like, you could end up spending a lot of Zenny (World Tour’s in-game currency). We’re here to save you time.

Here are the gifts in the game, where to buy them, and which characters like them. It’s worth noting each character also has a unique mission gift, but those require special conditions to unlock depending on the character. There are also gifts that nobody likes in particular, but can boost your rating by a couple points. We will be focusing on the gifts that can be bought from shops that each character actually wants.

If a favored gift is given to a target character, you will get 5 friendship points, really boosting the rate at which you max out your bond with them.

That covers this gift guide. We really enjoyed Street Fighter 6 in our review, even if World Tour wasn’t our favorite part. Stay tuned for more Street Fighter 6 coverage and updates as they drop, right here at Shacknews!

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Guide – Best Gifts for Each Character

Street Fighter 6 character gift guide

PlayStation

Image: Capcom

Street Fighter 6 is a wonderful new entry in the storied fighting game series, with a refined fighting system, and a slew of new features for newcomers and veterans alike. Among those is the World Tour mode, a single-player adventure that sees you train under iconic Street Fighter characters, and even make friends with them along the way. One key aspect of forging your friendships is giving gifts to each character.

Table of contents

Why do i need to give street fighter 6 characters gifts.

Upon taking up a mentorship with an individual Street Fighter character in World Tour, the strength of your bond is measured with two meters: the Style Meter and the Bond Meter .

The Style Meter dictates how much of that character’s fighting moveset you can adopt as part of your own custom repertoire, and is increased naturally by using their style in fights, as well as fighting other citizens who are students of that style.

Street Fighter 6 best gifts for characters

The Bond Meter is a little different. Increasing Bond will boost your friendship with the character, and give you more insight into their backstory, increase the frequency of their text messages to you, and unlock nice pieces of art along the way.

Most importantly, raising a character’s Bond level to 100 will unlock their alternative costume in the Fighting Ground and Battle Hub modes .

There are only a few ways to raise the bond meter, and you’ll need to do them all if you want to get to 100. They involve completing friendship missions and giving gifts. But of course, each character likes certain gifts more than others.

Where do I get gifts?

There are two ways to obtain gifts.

The first and most hassle-free is to purchase them from food vendors and merchants , who you can find around the map in both Metro City and Nayshall, as well as in each international mini-location you can travel to via the World Map. Each vendor will have a different selection of gifts on sale.

They’re admittedly a little obscured if you’re talking to a food vendor – you’ll have to shift tabs to the ‘takeaway’ portion (R1 or RB, if you’re using a controller) to find what’s on offer.

The second way is to earn them from the random battles you can take part in around the map. Some fighters have gifts on offer (marked by an obvious ‘birthday present’ icon), if you meet certain conditions during the fight, and win. You can check these conditions with the Triangle or Y button before you get into a fight with someone, or from the Pause menu during a battle.

What are the best gifts for each Street Fighter 6 character?

There are a lot of different gifts you can obtain within Street Fighter 6 World Tour, but only a select few have a major impact. Several gifts, like Gift Cards, K.O. Gum, and Calendars are generic, and will only raise a character’s bond meter by 1 or 2 points.

Each individual Street Fighter 6 character has one specific gift that they really love (or in some cases, love to hate), and these will raise their bond meter by 5 points . These are the items you want to collect and keep for that special someone, to maximise their bond meter with the least effort.

Here’s a list of who likes what.

Unique Quest Character Gifts

In addition to the regular gifts, you’ll also come across a few one-off, unique gifts that are designed to be given to certain characters. These will raise someone’s friendship bond by a whopping 40 points.

Don’t worry about doing the wrong thing with them, because they can only be given to the character they’re meant for – they’ll be greyed out if it’s not meant to be.

These items are typically obtained as rewards from Friendship Quests, which are given when you reach Level 18 in someone’s Style Meter.

Here are all the pairings you’ll need.

Street Fighter 6 is available on PC ,  PlayStation 4 ,  PlayStation 5 ,  Xbox Series X/S .

Where Can You Find Ed In World Tour? - Street Fighter 6

  • Author: Norris Howard

The newest entry into Street Fighter 6, Ed, is now live and ready to punch his way to the top. Ed is the second to last fighter to be added in the season after Rashid and A.K.I. with only Akuma remaining. But if you didn't buy the Ultimate version of the game, then you only get Ed's base costume. So here's how to find him in World Tour mode and max out his bond points. Doing this will net you his costume 2 for free.

Where Is Ed In World Tour?

To unlock Ed in World Tour Mode  you want to head to the Urban Park in Metro City at night. Right next to the subway station there will be an NPC named C. Raven. Talking to him will trigger the quest to begin. After flagging the quest, head straight down into the subway and battle the three box-headed enemies and then enter the train. A cutscene will play revealing Ed to your avatar. Once that's over talk to Ed one more time and you'll be enrolled as his student.

After that series of cutscenes, Ed will appear at the Beat Square subway station, but only at night. It's here where you'll be able to return and learn moves for your avatar, learn more about Ed's story and give him gifts to increase his bond points.

You can find Ed in the subway near Beat Square.

You can find Ed in the subway near Beat Square.

What Is The Best Gift For Ed In World Tour?

For the base roster of Street Fighter 6, you'd normally run around the World Map talking to merchants and buying "gift items" to give to the fighters. The more you increase bond with them the more moves you learn from their fighting style. If you max out their bond, you unlock their Costume 2 for free. For Ed, however, this works a bit differently. While there is a magazine you can buy from the shopkeeper in Beat Square for Ed, it only gives 2 bond points. In order to get the best item for Ed you'll have to complete a quest.

To start this mission, you'll have to visit Nayshall at night and go to the South Lowlands and you'll see a new quest marker not far to the south of the fast travel point. Talk to the quest giver and he'll ask you to go to the far north of the Nayshall map to investigate some martial artists up there. You'll have to fight the three marked NPCs and then talk to them after you defeat them. They will give you a clothing item upon your victory called "fundoshi". Put it on and then talk to them once more.

If you did everything right, a cutscene featuring a psycho-powered fighter should play. This fight is tough, and if your avatar isn't near level 65-70, you're going to have a tough time completing it. The fighter also uses a blend of psycho power and Guile 's style so be prepared.

If you do down him, complete the quest and you'll receive a boxing magazine item. This is the best gift for Ed. Give it to him and you'll receive a whopping 40 bond points, which is nearly half of what you need to max him out. Fill the rest in with magazines and leftover gifts and you'll have Ed's new threads in no time.

Street Fighter 6: The Best Master Gifts in World Tour Mode (SF6 Gift Guide)

Figuring out the best gift for every World Tour mode Master will make it much easier for players to reach the maximum bond and unlock Outfit 2.

There are 18 World Tour mode Masters in Street Fighter 6 , many of whom are encountered as part of the main story. After becoming their student, players can raise their bond with a Master in a number of different ways, such as sparring, completing friendship missions, and giving them special gifts. The goal is to raise this bond to 100, which will provide Street Fighter 6 players with some highly desirable rewards.

RELATED: Street Fighter 6: Every World Tour Master (& Where to Find Them)

The fastest way to max out one's bond with a Master is by repeatedly giving them gifts, which is remarkably simple given how easy it is for players to farm money quickly in World Tour mode . For maximum efficiency, though, players will need to take a moment to figure out the best gifts to give each Master in World Tour mode and where exactly these gifts can be bought; both of which can be done with the help of this Street Fighter 6 gift guide.

Updated June 17, 2023, by Tom Bowen: This Street Fighter 6 gift guide has been updated to include the prices of the best gift for every Master, both with and without the Haggler α Skill unlocked. Players can also read up on the fastest and easiest ways to raise a Master's bond to 100, which will be essential for those hoping to unlock every Street Fighter 6 character's Outfit 2.

The Best Gift for Each Master in World Tour Mode (SF6 Gift Guide)

It's worth noting that there are plenty of other potential gifts that players can get their hands on by fighting, completing friendship missions, or opening chests. However, for those looking for a farmable way to raise their bond with a master quickly, the above gifts are either as good as or better than any of the alternatives.

What's the Reward for Reaching Max Bond Level?

Once players reach a bond level of 100 with a Master they will unlock that Master's Outfit 2. This will likely be appealing to a lot of players, as each Outfit 2 would usually cost 50 Fighter Coins to unlock, meaning that they can potentially save themselves as many as 900 Fighter Coins by playing through World Tour mode and maxing out the bond with every Master. For those wondering, it would cost players just shy of $20 to purchase 900 Fighter Coins.

In order to give a gift to a Master, players simply need to approach them and then press either the Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) button.

How to Get Max Bond with Every SF6 Master

Players hoping to max out their bond with every Master using gifts should make a point of unlocking the Haggler α Skill as soon as possible. It first becomes available on the first tier of the second skill tree and reduces the total cost of all general store and merchant items by 30%. They should also keep in mind that it's possible to increase one's bond with a Master by five points simply through talking with them, and by a further seven by agreeing to spar with them when presented with the opportunity to do so and winning the resulting fight.

As the best gift for each SF6 Master increases their bond level by five, this means that players will need to buy 18 of each gift in order to make up the extra 88 points. This will set players back 1,422,540 Zenny with the Haggler α Skill unlocked and 2,032,200 Zenny without it. Of course, if players aren't in a hurry and are happy to wait for more sparring opportunities to show up, they can lower this cost quite a bit. Likewise, certain NPCs will drop Master gifts when defeated, which can further reduce the player's total outlay.

Street Fighter 6 is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Street Fighter 6 Gifts guide: Best Gift & Special Gift for Each Master

Street Fighter 6 might be a fighting game, but it's got some dating game DNA, too. This gift guide will help you get closer to those masters.

Street Fighter 6 gives players the opportunity to get to know the various heroes, villains, and famous world warriors of the SF series more closely than ever by training under them as part of the World Tour single-player mode. As well as sparring and learning new moves, a huge part of impressing the Master characters , as they’re known, is by giving them gifts .

Your relationship with each of the Masters in Street Fighter 6 is measured in two stats; one for ‘Style’, and one for ‘Bond’.

Your Style Level represents how versed you are in each character’s fighting style, and ranking this up prompts each of the characters to teach you new moves and techniques. This maxes out at level 20.

Your Bond Stat instead represents your personal relationship with each master. Raising it opens new topics of conversation, new artwork, and eventually a second costume for each character, unlocked when you hit the top Bond level of 100.

How to raise your Bond Stat in SF6

While you can raise your Bond stat by winning sparring matches , completing friendship missions , and saying the right thing when chatting to your Masters by choosing smart dialogue options, the absolute fastest way to raise a Bond Stat with a master is by giving gifts .

As you’d expect, with a wide range of characters and personalities spread across the world of Street Fighter 6 that is only continuing to grow, each character has different likes and dislikes - and so you’ll want to be careful to give them gifts which have the maximum impact.

There’s two different types of gifts - Normal Gifts and Special Gifts. These are obtained in slightly different ways, and have slightly different effects.

Normal Gifts can be found as loot from random opponents, denoted by a present icon. They can also be purchased from Food Vendor Merchants - just tab over to the ‘miscellaneous’ item section. Each vendor sells different items - which means to get all the gifts you’ll need, you’ll need a stack of cash and flight tickets to get around the world and make the purchases. Each normal gift raises the Bond stat of its target character by 5 points, and can be given repeatedly to grind out the Bond level.

Special gifts are one-offs, are obtained in specific ways, and give a whopping 40 points to your Bond meter. Thankfully, it’s impossible to give these to the wrong character - but getting your hands on them is more complicated.

This guide is up-to-date with the Rashid update to SF6, and will continue to be updated going forward.

Best Gifts for Each Character in Street Fighter 6, and where to get them

world tour gifts reddit

Below you’ll find a table listing every gift in SF6 that is a ‘favorite’ of one of the Masters. We also list where each gift can be purchased.

Each of these gifts will raise the Bond level of its corresponding character by 5 points. Give the wrong gift to a character and it’ll instead raise their Bond by only 1 or 2 points, which is a more wasteful use of the gift.

You might notice that some gifts aren’t listed on this page. This is because they’re ‘generic’ gifts - you can give them to anyone, but they’ll only raise each character’s Bond by a point or two. To maximize your reward and minimize your efforts, you’ll want to give the gifts as listed below.

Special Gifts for Each Character in Street Fighter 6

world tour gifts reddit

In addition to the generic gifts above that can be purchased, there’s one special gift for each master character in Street Fighter 6 that is unique.

Each of these is obtained via a side quest - usually triggered by getting another Master to Style Level 18. Each special gift can only be handed to its intended recipient. These gifts give a whopping 40 points to your Bond level - making them worth four other equivalent gifts.

Here’s all of the unique special gifts, and where they’re obtained:

Street fighter 6: best gifts to increase world tour master bond levels.

When playing in World Tour Mode, players will get the chance to learn directly from the Street Fighter Masters, but they want something in exchange.

World Tour mode in Street Fighter 6 is an exciting new additional feature to the classic game series. Players will explore the globe as their own customizable fighters, learning from the game's different playable characters, also known as Masters in this mode. In order to learn everything possible from each Master, the bond level with each will need to be maxed out .

There are a couple of ways to grind this during World Tour Mode in Street Fighter 6 , such as winning matches against them or using their moves in other fights , but both of these methods are tedious and can be time-consuming. With enough money, players can purchase each Master's respective preferred gift which will also build their bond level.

There are also extra special gifts attained by completing the final side quests for a Master , these are only received and gifted once , so they will not be purchasable. However, they do provide a significant boost to the bond , so they're worth attaining in addition to the standard purchasable gift.

Best Gift For Each Street Fighter Master

Even though this method can also take some time because players need to have the required funds to purchase the gifts, usually around 4,500 Zenny each , there is no cap on this. These gifts can repeatedly be given and spammed to build bonds quickly, so this is still an ideal method for those looking to get this done quickly.

Gifts can also sometimes be obtained through completing some missions and quests during normal gameplay. Players should focus on building their bond first with the Master whose skill set is most desirable to them , then work on attaining the rest later during their Street Fighter 6 playthrough, should they choose to do so.

Shakira is going on a world tour starting in November. Here are all the details

Shakira performs live at TSX In Times Square on March 26, 2024 in New York City.

Shakira has revealed she's going on a world tour!

The singer made a surprise appearance during night one of Coachella on Friday, April 12 to perform alongside Bizarrap. Fans online were ecstatic to see the Latin superstar on stage performing her song, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” alongside the DJ.

They got even more hyped when Shakira announced that she would be going on the road for her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.”

“So stoked to finally announce that LAS MUJERES YA NO LLORAN WORLD TOUR is happening!” Shakira wrote on her Instagram . “Can’t wait to be back on stage partying and celebrating with my wolfpack! 🐺Dates coming up soon — register for info / pre-sale access now! Auuuuuuuuuuuuuu!”

The announcement comes weeks after the release of her 12th studio album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.” This is Shakira’s first tour since 2018’s “El Dorado World Tour.”

Find out how you can catch Shakira on tour, below:

When are tickets for Shakira going on sale?

The "She Wolf" singer has yet to announce when tickets will officially go on sale, but in her message on X she did provide a link to her official website , asking fans to "sign up to get information" about her upcoming tour.

In her tweet, she noted that the tour dates were "coming up soon" and to register for information and pre-sale access.

Where is Shakira going on tour?

Shakira hasn't officially announced her 2024 tour dates nor tour stops as yet, but since it's a world tour, it's likely that the signer will hit the same locations as her “El Dorado World Tour” in 2018. During that year, Shakira traveled all the way to Europe, the U.S. and Latin America.

Though she promised that tour dates would be forthcoming, the singer did reveal in an Instagram story on March 13 that she plans to kick off her new tour in November in California at the Acrisure Arena.

"This is it! This is where we're starting my tour in November," she said with a smile outside the arena. "Amazing."

What is Shakira’s most recent album ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ about?

Shakira released her 12th studio album, “ Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran ,” which translates in English to “Women No Longer Cry,” on March 22. The album comes seven years after she released “El Dorado” in 2017.

A mix of pop, reggaeton, regional and rock, Shakira told  the Sunday Times that “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” represents “the transformation of pain into creativity, frustration into productivity, anger into passion, vulnerability into resilience.”

“There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together. And the glue that kept it all together was music,” she said.

The songs included on the album also touch on her public split from former pro-soccer player Gerard Piqué like “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” and “TQG.”

What is the track list for 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran'?

  • “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” includes 17 tracks.

Madonna

In 1974, at the age of 15, Madonna snuck out of her father’s house in suburban Detroit to attend David Bowie’s Diamond Dogs Tour. She was summarily grounded for the summer, but the punishment was worth it. “I don’t think that I breathed for two hours. It was the most amazing show that I’d ever seen,” Madonna said during a speech inducting the Thin White Duke into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

Madonna’s first two tours, 1985’s Virgin Tour and 1987’s Who’s That Girl World Tour, served as experiment labs for the burgeoning superstar. In 1990, her Blond Ambition World Tour revolutionized the pop concert. Drawing inspiration from Bowie’s theatricality, Prince’s cheeky flamboyance and Michael Jackson’s stage command, she offered audiences an immersive experience that went beyond conventional live performance.

Each of Madonna’s subsequent tours have pushed the boundaries even further, embracing technology for multimedia (and multi-sensory) presentations of her music. On the heels of her own induction into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2008, the singer’s Sticky & Sweet Tour became the highest grossing tour for a female artist in history – a record she held until 2023, when it was finally eclipsed by Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Madonna could have hung up her corset long ago and she would still be one of the most successful live acts of all time. But she continues to push herself – and us. Her latest trek, the career-spanning Celebration Tour, will wrap up with a historic free show at Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 4. The concert will be broadcast live on TV Globo and will likely see Madonna performing for her biggest audience to date – more than 40 years into her career.

To get in on the celebration, we’ve ranked all 12 of Madonna’s boundary-busting tours.

The Virgin Tour (1985)

Madonna

Madonna’s very first tour was propelled, like most things related to the queen, almost entirely on the strength of her sheer force of will — and, of course, her raw talent. A magnetic and skilled performer (that toss and catch of the tambourine!), Madonna sprinted through a relatively short setlist culled largely from her first two albums, dancing and belting out hits like “Into the Groove” and “Burning Up” like her rent was due yesterday. But she didn’t need to worry about paying the bills for long: When the tour kicked off in April 1985, she was playing modest theaters; two months later, she was performing to a sold-out crowd of Madonna wannabes at Madison Square Garden.

Who’s That Girl World Tour (1987)

Madonna

Compared to the Virgin Tour just two years earlier, Madonna stepped up the production values, choreography and theatricality for her first world (and stadium) tour. Dramatic performances of “Papa Don’t Preach,” “Live to Tell” and her then-most recent No. 1 on the Hot 100, “Who’s That Girl,” hinted at what was to come on future tours in terms of spectacle and ambition. Though it was only her second tour, Who’s That Girl would become the last of Madonna’s shows to resemble a conventional pop-rock concert.

Re-Invention World Tour (2004)

Madonna

Coming off of the commercial disappointment of her 2003 album American Life , Madonna returned to the place she’s always thrived: the stage. The Re-Invention Tour was nothing she hadn’t done before or wouldn’t do better in the future, but — for the first time in years — she was embracing her past, performing rocked-out renditions of early hits “Burning Up” and “Material Girl” with electric guitar in hand, and even reinventing a few fan favorites like “Hanky Panky” and “Deeper and Deeper.” As for the queen herself, she was in top form both vocally and physically.

Madame X Tour (2019-2020)

Madonna

Part jukebox musical, part avant-garde performance art and part standup special, the Madame X Tour revolved around a James Baldwin quote… and a typewriter. Yes, Madame X is a stenographer. The tour took place in theaters and opera houses instead of the usual arenas, offering a more intimate and interactive experience. Highlights included a jazzy version of “Human Nature,” a neo-noir restaging of “Vogue” and a crowd sing-along to the resistance anthem “I Rise.”

Rebel Heart Tour (2015-2016)

Madonna

A blend of Cirque du Soleil, Broadway and burlesque, the Rebel Heart Tour saw dancers swinging on 10-foot stilts, dressed as nuns on stripper poles and sliding down giant LED screens. As for Madonna, she seemed more at ease on stage than ever, playing the coy chanteuse a la Blond Ambition and strumming the ukulele to “True Blue” – the first time she’d performed the song in nearly three decades. In fact, Rebel Heart was heavier on the hits than any tour since Re-Invention, including a Latin-infused medley of classics “Dress You Up,” “Into the Groove” and “Lucky Star,” as well as a modern twist on “Material Girl.”

Sticky & Sweet Tour (2008-2009)

Madonna

After a first act that didn’t quite live up to the lofty standards Madonna had previously set, the Sticky & Sweet Tour eventually hit its stride. The ‘Gypsy’ and ‘Rave’ segments in particular – including an electrifying rendition of “La Isla Bonita” featuring Ukrainian group Kolpakov Trio and a heavy metal version of “Hung Up,” which ended with Madonna shredding her guitar to Pantera’s “A New Level” – were as exhilarating as any of her previous tours’ best moments.

The Celebration Tour (2023-2024)

Madonna

Madonna’s latest tour is the sight and sound of a legend fully embracing her legacy. With no new album to promote, the setlist is packed with so many iconic songs – including a handful she’s never performed on tour before, such as “Bedtime Story” and “Bad Girl” – that more than a dozen of her 28 top 5 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 had to be omitted. A musical recounting of the Queen of Pop’s life and career, the Celebration Tour touches on her rise to fame in New York, the AIDS crisis (via a stirring rendition of “Live to Tell”), the media backlash she suffered in the early ‘90s and her spiritual rebirth, in which she rises like an AI phoenix on a glowing cube and — quicker than a ray of light — soars above the crowd. Masterful.

Drowned World Tour (2001)

Madonna

Pioneered by bands like U2, live concerts had moved closer to multimedia presentations in the years since The Girlie Show in 1993, and Madonna fully embraced the artistic potential that new technology allowed. For her first tour in eight years, Madonna pulled out all of the stops: smoke machines, acrobatic stunts, line-dancing, even Japanese anime. And with only a handful of older songs making the cut – including tour staples “Holiday” and “Human Nature” – she proved she was still laser-focused on the present… and the future.

The MDNA Tour (2012)

Madonna

Coming on the heels of Madonna’s iconic halftime performance at Super Bowl XLVI, the maximalist MDNA Tour was one of her most ambitious, employing elaborate stage combat, slacklining, Tetris-style cubes that rose 16 feet above the stage and a backdrop of eight rotating video screens. It was also one of her most intense shows. At 54, Madonna was in peak form, performing intricate choreography in spiked stilettos nonstop for two hours straight. The only chance she had to take a breath was during a surprisingly poignant piano version of “Like a Virgin” … after which the air was literally squeezed from her lungs by a corset being tightened around her.

The Girlie Show (1993)

Madonna

Inspired by cabaret and classic Hollywood musicals, The Girlie Show was a visual tour-de-force. The second act, dubbed ‘Studio 54,’ rivaled the ‘Religious’ segment from Blond Ambition for sheer catharsis, with the freedom of the orgiastic disco era (“Deeper and Deeper”) juxtaposed with the subsequent AIDS crisis (“In This Life”), as well as a captivating fever dream of choreography set to a remix of “Justify My Love.” Madonna was in fine voice throughout, growling her way through “Express Yourself” and harmonizing beautifully on “Rain.” She’s never had a better live band, either — and even mused about collaborating with them on an album, though it sadly never materialized.

Blond Ambition World Tour (1990)

Madonna

With its elaborate costumes (courtesy of French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier), Broadway-style sets (designed by Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone) and quasi-narrative arc, the Blond Ambition Tour is the blueprint – the mother of the modern pop concert. The show infamously found Madonna exorcising herself of the guilt of her Catholic upbringing. The ‘Religious’ segment, which began with the singer simulating masturbation and ended with her facing the judgment of the male authority figures in her life (her father, the Pope, God), is among the most audaciously conceived and impeccably executed moments of stagecraft in touring history.

Confessions Tour (2006)

Madonna

The Confessions Tour snags the top spot on our list for two reasons. First, it served as a culmination of everything Madonna had learned from Blond Ambition through Re-Invention, combining spectacle, drama and good ol’ fashioned performance mojo. Like its namesake, 2005’s Grammy-winning Confessions on a Dance Floor , the show struck a deft balance between dance-party hedonism and intimate introspection. Madonna’s 2000 Hot 100 chart-topper “Music” was transformed into a roller-disco fantasia, while a haunting rendition of “Live to Tell” saw the veteran provocateur suspended from a giant disco-fied cross in order to shine a light on the plight of AIDS in Africa.

Most importantly, Confessions was Madonna’s most cohesive and consistently thrilling show to date. Musical director Stuart Price skillfully arranged and remixed early hits like “Erotica” and “Like a Virgin” to fit the Eurodisco aesthetic of Confessions . Plus, each act of the show was a visual and aural smorgasbord, from the opening equestrian segment, which found Madonna emerging from a giant glitter ball and commanding a stripper-poll-cum-carousel-horse, to the extended finale, which mashed up “Lucky Star” and “Hung Up” into a nearly 15-minute explosion of ear and eye candy.

How to Claim Your Part of a $45 Million Walmart Settlement

A class-action lawsuit accusing the retail giant of inflating prices of certain weighed foods and produce resulted in a settlement. Customers may be eligible for a payment of up to $500.

A cashier in a blue Walmart vest with a sun logo stands at a blue register scanning food items, including a bag of oranges and a tin of coffee. Other cashiers are seen in the background, as well as shelves of food.

By Emmett Lindner

Some Walmart customers may be entitled to claim up to $500 as part of a $45 million settlement that the retail giant is paying to resolve a class-action lawsuit, according to a settlement administrator’s website .

The lawsuit, filed on Oct. 19, 2022, claimed that Walmart overcharged shoppers for in-store purchases of certain weighted grocery items, including poultry and pork, and for bagged citrus. The lawsuit accuses the company of “unfair and deceptive business practices” that resulted in higher costs than what were advertised, according to court documents .

The lawsuit alleges that Walmart falsely inflated product weight, mislabeled products and overcharged for clearance products sold by weight.

The retail giant has denied the allegations, but it agreed to the settlement. “We believe a settlement is in the best interest of both parties,” a Walmart spokeswoman said in a statement.

Think you’re eligible? Here’s what to know:

Walmart is accused of overcharging for some weighted items.

The lawsuit claims that Walmart overcharged for certain items. Prices for weighted products, including meat, poultry, pork and seafood, sometimes differed between the item labels and the labels on the shelves, and customers were charged for the higher prices at checkout, according to the settlement.

Other grocery descriptions are said to have been distorted, too. Some bagged citrus products, including navel oranges, organic oranges, organic grapefruit and tangerines, were labeled with a weight that was lower than what appeared on the shelf tags, and customers were charged for a heavier weight of the products than what they took home.

The lawsuit also included some weighted goods that were near expiration, and displayed a price that was lower than what appeared on the register.

How do I find out if I’m eligible for a payment?

Any customers who shopped in a store at a Walmart retail location in the United States and Puerto Rico between Oct. 19, 2018, and Jan. 19, 2024, and purchased the included weighted goods or bagged citrus can apply for a settlement payment through the administrator’s website or by mail.

The deadline to submit any claim is June 5, 2024.

How do I apply, and how much should I expect?

To apply, either fill out the online form on the administrator’s website , or download a form to print and send by mail to an address provided on the form. The form requires claimants to submit contact information, describe the type and number of items purchased, and select a payment option, and gives them the opportunity to upload receipts.

The amount that claimants receive, if approved, can vary. With proof of purchase, shoppers can take home up to 2 percent of the total amount they paid for weighted goods and bagged citrus, with a cap of $500.

I don’t keep grocery receipts from five years ago …

Fear not, you may still receive a little cash, though less than the $500 cap. If you submit a claim without documentation, you can receive between $10 and $25 , depending on the number of relevant items purchased.

When will I find out if I’m approved?

The final approval hearing is scheduled for June 12, 2024. If you qualify for a payment, money will be transferred to you electronically, or by check if requested. The deadline to object or comment on the settlement is May 22, 2024.
