Payload Area [ ]

The plants must push the payload until it reaches the goal.

Because the payload is located near the plants spawn, as opposed to the zombies spawn, it makes it much easier for them to complete this objective. Just eliminate all zombies who attempt to stop the payload.

Zombies [ ]

There are many ledges and straight lines of sight to see and attack the plants from. Like all payloads, one zombie next to them will stop them from moving. Use this to your advantage.

1st Storm Machine [ ]

The plants must capture Dr. Zomboss's 1st Storm Machine. To do this they must first use launch pads, akin to those found in Giddy Park , to launch onto the island itself.

Make sure you're going in the right direction or you could end up near the zombie spawn point. Stick with the crowd and eliminate zombies in the capture zone, then vanquish any zombies that approach.

The point can be easily swarmed with a herd of plants right away, luckily enough the surrounding areas make good use for your team to snipe down oncoming plants and have a wide view of the field, use this to your advantage.

2nd Storm Machine [ ]

The plants must capture Dr. Zomboss's 2nd Storm Machine.

Master Switch [ ]

The plants must stick close to the master switch until the indicator on the top-center of the screen turns into sunny weather, while the zombies need to stop them from changing it by staying near the objective and killing the plants attempting to do so. The player can see which team is taking control of the master switch by looking at the screen on top of the master switch. If the weather displayed is sunny, then the plants are taking control of it, while if the weather displayed is stormy, then the zombies are currently controlling it.

End Victory [ ]

Plant victory [ ].

The game ends with a cutscene where the screen on the master switch displays sunny weather. The tornado still appears, dissipating, but before it does, it carries all the zombies with it, throwing them into the sky. They will then proceed to fall from the sky, while the plants all dance.

Zombie Victory [ ]

The game ends with a cutscene where the screen on the master switch displays a stormy weather. A tornado appears and blows things away including a portable toilet containing a human in it. Zomboss can then be seen in a building overlooking the island while laughing.

  • This map, along with Preserve Pastures , are one of two multiplayer maps in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville that does not based on certain parts of the PvE regions.
  • On some rare occasions, the storm created during the final objective does not appear. One way this can happen is by being in Private Play, playing a zombie, and getting vanquished as the third objective is completed.

Play the Latest Turf Takeover Map in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville

Set sail to tourist trap island and earn fresh prizes in the garden party festival.

Grab your sun hat, it’s time for a Garden Party! As part of this update, you’ll find Prize Map rewards cooler than a tall glass of iced-Z (Dr. Zomboss’ iced beverage of choice ) and a ship-shape new Turf Takeover map. Plus, the Lost and Found Event kicks off this month. For more information, jump into the game.

Starting June 1, use your Prize Bulbs to party down in the Prize Map and earn field-fresh rewards, like the Common Majorly Magenta costume for Space Cadet when you reach the mid-way point. Take a single path to the end of the Prize Map to earn the Legendary Future Crop costume and complete the entire map to earn the Legendary Highly Decorated Crop costume for Peashooter.

We’re also releasing a brand-new Turf Takeover map: Tourist Trap Island. Dr. Zomboss has built storm machines to shipwreck passing boats on his ill-fated island. If he’s not stopped, the human passengers’ brains might be next on the menu of the zombie cruise line’s mediocre buffet!

Tourist Trap Island has four main objectives. First, you’ll start out in Neighborville’s local aquatic center where you’ll work to power up Jump Jets that propel you to Tourist Trap Island – just watch out for Zomboss’ stormy weather machine! Once you reach Tourist Trap Island, a seemingly idyllic resort destination thanks to the weather machine-created microclimate, you’ll notice the cove isn’t exactly what it seems. Cameras and periscopes pop out of palm trees and bulge from bamboo! Plants will have to destroy one weather machine relay while zombies defend it.

Traveling to the other side of the island reveals the true nature of Zomboss’ plan. Using another weather machine relay, he’s created tornadoes to build a storm and wreck all the tourist ships, stranding them (and their tasty, tasty brains) on the island! Once the plants manage to find the entrance to Zomboss’ hidden-secret-evil lair, they must make their way to the Weather or Not control room to turn off the hurricane. Can they do it? What’s the hidden surprise for the zombies if they can pull off the win? And how fresh is that shrimp in the zombie cruise buffet? Make sure you play Tourist Trap Island to find out!

With more than 10 years of experience as a professional writer, Megan holds a degree in Mass Media from her home state of Minnesota. After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.

When visiting Hawaii – whether you are from the mainland, or simply exploring a neighbor island – you might want to avoid what many would call “tourist traps.” You know, the attractions the guide books boast about, but are actually just overrun with so many tourists that you leave slightly disappointed and confused as to why everyone talks about how amazing it is? Well, these 11 Hawaii tourist traps are, quite frankly, overrated.

I understand that I may have previously touted these activities as mandatory for island residents, but this is meant to be a fun piece that offers memorable alternatives to those activities that are a little too “safe” for anyone planning a trip to the Hawaiian Islands. After all, you only have so much time in paradise and you want to experience the best of the best, don’t you?

Hawaii tourist traps.

Are there a lot of tourist traps in Hawaii?

With 4.7 million tourists coming to Oahu alone, you are guaranteed to find a few tourists traps on the islands. There are plenty of places that grab the eye of a traveler, and provide more of a surface experience of the islands instead of delving deep into what makes Hawaii truly special.

Is Hawaii itself considered a tourist trap?

Because Hawaii is one of the most well-known vacation destinations in the world, much of the islands caters to tourists as its their number one economy. But it doesn’t take much to travel outside of the overdone areas and see the true beauty Hawaii has to offer.

What is a tourist trap?

A tourist trap is a place that attracts and then exploits tourists. It’s usually overpopulated and no longer reflective of the culture or area the way it once originally may have been.
