There are 1 Ability Wealth location, 7 Mysteries, and 2 Artifacts in Hordafylke.

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

There is only one Wealth location in Hordafylke that is an Ability. We’ve broken them up into regions based (roughly) on the closest settlement or named region.

By this point in the game, you can purchase ingots from most shops, so we’re going to stop walking you through collecting them. Once you build the Cartographer’s shop in Ravensthorpe, you can buy maps to all ingots as well. And since Cargo is always in Raid locations, we’ll let you collect those on your own as well.

1 - Ability: Mark of Death

Hordafylke Wealth locations map

In Alrekstad, look for a house near the coast with a pig pen outside. Use Odin’s Sight to highlight a key in the pen. Grab the key and go to the shed on the property. Shoot the pulley suspending the net and drop down into the tunnel. Use the key to open the door to collect the Mark of Death Book of Knowledge .

Hordafylke Mysteries locations map

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

There are 7 Mystery locations in Hordafylke, including things like World Events, Cairns, Fly Agaric Hallucination Challenges, and a Legendary Animal. We’ve broken them up into regions based (roughly) on the closest settlement or named region.

1 - Legendary Animal: Bear of the Blue Waters

Hordafylke Mysteries locations map

On an island in northern Hordafylke, you’ll meet the massive Bear of the Blue Waters , a hulking polar bear with a sword lodged in their shoulder. Aim for the weak spots first and be careful not to get too close. The Bear of the Blue Waters is huge and has a longer reach than other legendary animals. Dodge when they lunge and swipe at their back and side. Eventually you’ll wear them down, completing the Bear of Blue Waters Legendary Animal fight.

2 - Drengr Fight: Orwig Neverdeath

Hordafylke Mysteries locations map

In the mountains to the northwest of Ulritken Peak, you’ll find a Drengr named Orwig Neverdeath who uses only shields when he fights. Your best bet is to shoot out his weak spots, wait for him to charge, and dodge out of the way. While he’s recovering you can get in some swipes, and then back off. We also were able to knock him off the ledge. If you kill him this way, you’ll still get credit for winning the Orwig Neverdeath Lost Drengr fight.

3 - Animus Anomaly: Hlutrholt

 alt=

On the northeast end of the southwest island, look for the telltale glint of an Animus Anomaly. Once it starts, avoid the hazard to make it to an area where you need to redirect a projector. Use that to climb to the next section.

Proceed until you reach the cylinder. Climb up and continue to another section where you need to redirect a beam. Direct it to the rightmost position first and ride the platform over. When you reach that side, use the other beam to position the unstable platform ahead so you can use it to climb up.

Ride the platform back to the left, and redirect the beam so that the closer unstable platform is in its leftmost position. Proceed, avoiding the hazards as you go.

On the final ramp, a spiky hazard will slide toward you, so climb on top of the platforms and wait for it to pass. As soon as it passes while you’re on the second platform, sprint to the finish to complete the Hlutrholt Animus Anomaly .

Torghatten Rock

4 - cairn: torghatten rock.

Hordafylke Mysteries locations map

On the west side of the mountain that dominates the southwestern island, you’ll find some stones for a cairn. You can complete this one easily — you don’t even need to use all the stones. Stack three horizontally to complete the Torghatten Rock Cairn .

5 - Fly Agaric: Hordafylke

Hordafylke Mysteries locations map

On the east side of the southwest island, eat the Fly Agaric mushrooms to begin a fight with five Jotun giants. Defeat them to complete the Fly Agaric Hallucination Challenge for Hordafylke.

6 - World Event: The Rekindling

Hordafylke Mysteries locations map

In Alrekstad, you’ll meet the Raid-Loving Wife, a woman standing outside her house who misses the spark that raiding provided for her and her husband’s sex life. Go inside the house when she asks and break all the wooden crates. Then throw a torch on the hay. Let it burn as she and her husband get turned on to complete “ The Rekindling ” World Event.

7 - World Event: Battle Born

Hordafylke Mysteries locations map

Follow the road east out of Alrekstad until you come to three kids standing near a flagpole(?). Speak to Kaija and she’ll invite you on a raid. Follow the kids west to the fort, and take out the four dummies (you’ll have to do all the “fighting” for them). Speak to Kaija again to complete the “ Battle Born ” World Event.

Hordafylke Artifacts locations map

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

There are 2 Artifacts in Hordafylke, and both are Flying Papers. By the time you’ve reached Hordafylke, you’ll have completed enough Artifacts that we’ve no longer going to walk you through them all. The map above will guide you to the area, and your Odin’s Sight ability will help you pin down the exact location.

7 Classic Arcade Games That Need A Comeback

10 resident evil games that need remakes, sonic x shadow generations pre-order guide: prices, editions, and release date.

Where does the name "Valhalla" come from in Assassin's Creed Valhalla ? Theologically, it's one of the afterlife locations that the Vikings believed in. It's reasonable to assume that you'll never actually visit Valhalla. This is true, but most of the way through the game, you'll come much closer than you ever dreamed possible.

RELATED: Assassin's Creed Valhalla: 10 Things You Probably Didn't Do On Your First Playthrough

What might this heaven be like? It's a question asked by more than just the believers, even the Isu themselves tried to make it a reality. For players who want to see this simulated heaven and survive, they'll have to understand what they are doing and where to go. There's an infamous moment where gamers can get stuck for eternity and this guide will go over every object in detail to make sure this fate doesn't befall you.

Where Legends Are Born

  • Speak To Sigurd
  • Speak To Randvi About Hordafylke
  • Meet Sigurd At The Docks

It's time to figure out what all of Sigurd's fuss is about. He'll ask you to join him going back home to Norway. Pledge to Hordafylke with Randvi, then head down to the docks and tell Sigurd that you're ready to go.

  • Find And Speak To Styrbjorn

You'll enter familiar waters on your longboat. Head to the shore, disembark, and find the mission marker. You'll be treated to a cold cutscene between Sigurd and Styrbjorn.

  • Follow Sigurd
  • Reach The Northernmost Fjord

Follow Sigurd back for another cutscene and then climb back aboard the longboat. Once again, head toward the marker or set the autopilot to do it for you. Don't fret, there aren't any ambushes or blockades along the way.

After pulling up on the shore, you'll automatically begin the very long second and final mission in this questline.

A Brother's Keeper

  • Reach The Central Platform

It turns out Sigurd actually has a lot of evidence behind his visions, as confused and angry as they are. Follow him all the way in and, though it seems counterintuitive, head to the central platform.

There is no objective marker for the next segment. Theoretically, you could decide to eat and drink with your comrades for all of eternity. For those who aren't content to sit around getting fat forever, you'll want to leave out of the gate on the far side from your room . A cutscene will trigger when you approach, then make your exit.

No objective will guide you, but do join the battle. All enemies are one-hit kills and you can't receive damage . After doing so much damage on the battlefield, Sigurd will become marked. There is no map, but look for the blue diamond on the screen . After conversing with him, you'll both duel.

Sigurd is not a one-hit kill, but aside from him getting more health, the same rules here apply: You cannot be harmed by his attacks . After depleting him, you'll lop his arm off.

Welcome to Groundhog's Day done in Viking style. You'll wake up and repeat the exact same steps as the day before. This time, when you speak to Sigurd, his arm has already been cut off.

The next day, you'll be tasked with finding your father, Varin, who is located between yourself and the gate . When you get close, he'll run out the front door and lead the charge.

Follow him out, then repeat the sequence again , down to speaking to Sigurd after losing yet another arm. Take in a cutscene and then an additional cutscene when you wake up the following day.

Repeat the steps one more time , kill some soldiers and talk to Sigurd.

This time, instead of waking up in your bed, you will wake up in a shallow lake.

Follow Odin during the conversation. After a while, you will be forced to battle him. This is the notorious part of the game where gamers get stuck forever. Odin cannot be killed. And if you try to run, he will drag you back by your axe. You must go into your equipment screen, unequip your weapons, and then head for the door .

  • Confront Basim

Finally, the objectives are back now that you've exited the artificial Valhalla. The bad news is that you'll immediately be engaged in one of the hardest boss fights in the game with Basim. He'll use a smoke grenade and, if you're close, he'll get off a free attack. If not, he'll use two consecutive ranged attacks, so be prepared to dodge twice.

Your best chance for offense is to dodge his leaping strike at the last possible second , which will slow down time and allow you to get off a few hits. You'll eventually get hit with an unblockable attack and this will signal the beginning of the second stage.

During this second stage, Basim will automatically dodge all attacks, so you'll have to stagger him. Block his attacks when he jumps at you with his yellow attacks  to get a free lick or two in.

  • Chase Basim

The third phase is easier, you'll just have to pursue Basim through the Isu structure.

  • Defeat Basim

Basim is immortal and can't be killed with normal blows, but keep him engaged in the center of the circles . Sigurd will use the controls to pacify Basim's consciousness after a few rounds.

This is the moment where you will find out if you got the good or the bad "ending." It's actually not an ending at all. The final ending is always bad no matter what (that's just historical accuracy, you can't change that), but the future of your relationship with Sigurd will manifest here depending on your previous choices.

And that closes the chapter on Hordafylke. It wasn't pretty, but congratulations on making it through! After some work outside of the animus (that can't be failed), you'll be ready to hop back in with Eivor and get to the next part of your journey.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Hordafylke Mysteries Walkthrough

November 9, 2020 by JoeApsey00 11 Comments

Hordafylke contains 7 Mysteries in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (ACV). This Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Hordaylke Mysteries Walkthrough will guide you through all Mystery Locations in the Hordafylke Territory. None of the Mysteries are missable, you can still find everything in free-roam after the story. It’s recommended to collect everything as you go through the regions to level up.

Mysteries get marked by blue icons on the world map automatically when synchronizing the viewpoints. Mysteries are side quests and other open world encounters. They include the following types: Cairns, Offering Altars, Flytings, Treasures of Britain, World Events, Legendary Animals, Lost Drengrs, Daughters of Lerion, Animus Anomalies, Fly Agarics, Standing Stones. Finishing all Mysteries is needed to complete all Territories for the Completionist All the Way! trophy or achievement.

Also in this region:

  • Hordafylke Wealth
  • Hordafylke Artifacts

Note: The northern part of Hordafylke cannot be visited until the end of the story. The Animus Anomaly also doesn’t spawn until end of the story. You can’t complete this region during your first visit to Norway.

Mystery #1: Cairn

assassins-creed-valhalla-hordafylke-mystery-1-1

The first Hordafylke Mystery can be found in the West of the region, next to Torgharren Rock. As you head up towards the waypoint, you will notice a small outcrop of rock about two levels up. Climb up to here and interact with the Cairn to build the rocks high enough and complete the mystery.

One of the combinations for this cairn can be found below:

Mystery #2: Fly Agaric

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

When you arrive at the location, interact with the mushrooms and 4 powerful enemies will spawn. You must defeat them to complete the challenge. Level 300+ is recommended for this. Even on easy difficulty they are quite challenging because there are 4 of them attacking you at the same time. Return for this after the story when you are sufficiently leveled.

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

Mystery #3: Animus Anomaly

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

This Animus Anomaly only spawns much later, at the end of the story. It won’t show up during your first visit to Norway so you must come back for it later. Animus Anomalies are platforming challenges. When you arrive at the location, interact with the orb there and it will spawn a blue platforming section in front of you. Reach the top and avoid the red hazard points.

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

Mystery #4: Legendary Animal (Bear of the Blue Waters)

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

This mystery requires you to defeat a level 310 bear (Alpha Animal). It’s too far north to reach during the Prologue so you must come back for it after the story when this region has opened up.

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

Mystery #5: Lost Drengr (Orwig Neverdeath)

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

This only unlocks later at the end of the story. There’s a viking standing on a cliff at the Mystery location. Talk to him and choose to fight him. He’s level 370 but you can just push him off the cliff to kill him instantly. No big challenge. You can’t reach him during the prologue, so come back for him after the story.

ac valhalla travel to hordafylke

Mystery #6: World Event (The Rekindling)

assassins-creed-valhalla-hordafylke-mystery-2-1

This world event can be found in the town of Alrekstad, in the Eastern corner of the region. In the town, standing outside a house, you will find a woman you can talk to who will talk about her waning relationship. After talking to her, go inside her house and complete actions that follow their dialogue.

Firstly, destroy some of the environment, wooden blockades vases, and boxes, using your sword. Next, they will ask you to burn their house down. Stand next to the flaming pillar in the back of the room and aim your bow next to it to light the arrow on fire. Turn around and shoot the straw on the floor to begin the blaze. You will then get a key to open the chest inside the house and complete the World Event.

assassins-creed-valhalla-hordafylke-mystery-2-3

Mystery #7: World Event (Battle Born)

assassins-creed-valhalla-hordafylke-mystery-3-1

This world event is in the far East, past the town of Alrekstad and along the main road which leads to a dead end. Talk to the child by the post and head back down the road, taking a left as you get to the first tree on your left. This path will lead you to a small ruined hut, which the children are using to practice raiding. Once here you need to complete three separate tasks.

  • Hit all 4 of the mannequins with your weapon
  • Destroy some of the boxes and vases in the house
  • Open the chest on the right side of the hut, which is on the wooden platform.

Once all three of these tasks have been completed, Kaija will meet you out the front of the house and upon talking to them you will complete the World Event.

Orwig Neverdeath is accessible before the story ends. I just killed him at lvl 33 after a very very very long dragged out fight where my controller died twice lol.

The anamoly is glitced for me. When I get to the first set of 2 lasers where you have to jump back and forth for them I can’t interact with the first later to move it after reaching the second one.

December 3, 2020 at 10:47 am

Just close down the app and restart same thing happened to me

' src=

December 9, 2020 at 5:40 am

Somehow I glitched the Mystery #6 by looting the chest before finding the children, so now I can’t complete that mystery or get 100%. That’s pretty irritating.

' src=

December 10, 2020 at 6:55 pm

Interesting! I should retry the Lost Drengr fight (if Ubisoft adds the New Game Plus mode) and then try the Spartan Kick on him and see if he does die immediately after flying off the cliff. This will probably be the only 1-hit kill boss in the entire game!

Oh, and you don’t have to wait until the end of the game to fight the Lost Drengr. On my playthough, I went back to Norway just midway thru my game and he challenged me when I climbed up to his area of the cliff.

' src=

December 10, 2020 at 11:23 pm

When exactly does Anomaly spawn?

' src=

December 15, 2020 at 2:05 am

I bullrushed Orwig Neverdeath in the fight. It was so glorious! But, I also fell down and just barely survived.

It seemed like you were supposed to do exactly that, so hats off to those who actually fought him normally.

I have three mysteries I cannot complete even though iam on the latest patch 1.1.0

youtu.be/aung4GmkNYk

youtu.be/husP-vRF4UA

youtu.be/5aPCR5Y8Bd4

It looks like those 3 mysteries has lock me out from completing them.

I have tried, reloading the pervious save its still the same. I have manual save and restart the game n reload the save is still the same I have tried to uninstall the game n try to run pre patch, but my save is shown as corrupted

Iam out of ideas I can’t be doing another play through jus because this 3 screwed me over for the plat

On the one you have listed as no.6 there was no lady to be found anywhere, finally walked in the house where a couple were making out on a bench. Just started the floor on fire after busting the place up and then was able to open the chest.

' src=

January 1, 2021 at 7:01 pm

For The Rekindling the same happened to me, the lady never appeared, sooo I started destroying stuff and then lit the floor on fire and BAM the couple appeared and I was able to complete the Mystery, was worried it bugged out and this is as of 1/1/2021.

AC Valhalla: Hlutrholt Animus Anomaly (Hordafylke) Guide

December 1, 2020 by Ordinary Gaming

Hlutrholt is the Animus Anomaly located in Hordafylke of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Your task is to get to the top of the anomaly and retrieve the data packet.

Here’s how you can solve the Animus Anomaly in Hordafylke in AC Valhalla.

To begin the challenge, get to the location shown in the map below, marked by the map marker.

Explore Anomaly to begin.

How to solve the puzzles

This puzzle is mostly quite straightforward, especially the hazard parts.

Just time yourself properly.

For the first projector, just move it towards the transparent block / unstable structure. I’ll use the terms interchangeably.

Then, you can continue to move forward.

You will come across more hazards. Just move along.

At the next light projector, you have to aim at the unstable structure when it goes to the right side. This is to allow you to get to the next projector.

Once you’ve reached that projector, move it towards the unstable structure / transparent block near the tall block.

Head back to the earlier projector and this time, shine the light beam when the transparent block is on your left.

This means you can now cross over the two unstable blocks and reach the tall block (image below).

You will then come across an area where the hazards move very quickly.

There are two hazards and they move at opposite directions. This one requires mostly timing. When the hazard on the left side moves away from you, run quickly using the left side.

You need to climb onto the pole structure (image below) to avoid getting hit by the hazard. This one is mostly speed and timing.

Once it’s safe again, run towards the tall block at the end.

You will then reach another area with a projector.

This time, aim at the projector when the transparent block is at the top. You will then be able to cross over.

Finally, you’ll reach an area with flame-like hazard that comes in intervals.

This one also requires timing. When the flame has passed, just run all the way and climb the first pole.

Then, move to the second pole.

From the second pole, run towards the data packet when the flame has gone away.

The Hlutrholt Animus Anomaly ends here.
