Do you want to take some photos of the Eiffel Tower but you’re not sure where to go? This post will show you the best Eiffel Tower photo spots that will give you that star-stopping photo!

There is no doubt that the Eiffel Tower is the most photographed landmark in Paris and it’s not surprising to want to photograph it from various angles! 

I’ve seen the Eiffel Tower countless times and every time I do, I still get that burning urge to photograph it — I could urge that I have thousands of Eiffel Tower pics and I am shamelessly still taking more any chance I get! It never gets old!

But even with my Eiffel Tower obsession ( yes, my jaw drops every time I ”discover a new stunning Eiffel Tower photo spot), there are some Eiffel Tower photo spots that stand out for me to photograph the iron lady from the rest!

So whether you’re visiting Paris for the first time and looking for places to take beautiful pictures of the Eiffel Tower or you’re a seasoned traveler who’s in constant search for the Eiffel Tower best view, in this post, I will share with you my favorite spots to take pictures of the Eiffel tower in Paris.

And while you can get views of the Eiffel Tower from various places, this post is not about where to see the Iron Lady whereby even just seeing the summit is fulfilling, but it’s rather about places where you can take some of the best Eiffel Tower photos and capture it in its full glory!

Go at the right time

Plan to go early in the evening for a sunrise Eiffel Tower photo shoot or late in the evening for the sunset shoot.

You’ll get magnificent photos while still beating the crowds as most of these places receive very few people at those times.

Plan to walk a lot so wear comfortable shoes

Since most of the Eiffel Tower photo spots are not far from each other, the best way is to plan to see them on the same day especially if you just have a few days in Paris.

This means that you’ll walk a lot and the best way not to get worn out easily is by wearing comfortable walking shoes.

Pack the right essentials for the day

If the idea is to be outside for a number of hours, you’re better off carrying your day’s essentials. Below are a few things you should take with you.

• Extra batteries and memory card: These memory cards will work well since you’ll be taking lots of pictures.
• Re-usable Collapsible water bottle: Paris has a number of drinking water fountains so it’s better to take this reusable collapsible water bottle that you can just keep refilling instead of buying bottled water.
• A Power bank: If you plan to use your phone for some photos, your battery will run so take this portable power bank to stay connected all the time.
• Phone: Duh! There is no way you can forget it
• Anti-theft backpack: You’ll need such an anti-theft daypack to keep all your day’s travel items and since pickpockets are common, especially in crowded places, be sure that you can see it at all times. Also, do not randomly place it or any of your travel items on the ground without anyone watching them.

The Best Eiffel Tower Photo Spots

Read on to find out the best places for Eiffel Tower photos.

1. Trocadéro square

This is probably the most famous spot to go for an Eiffel Tower photo shoot and one of my favorite places actually. And since it is directly opposite the Eiffel Tower and a little bit raised, you’re bound to get the best view of the Eiffel Tower.

However, since it’s a popular Eiffel Tower Photo Spot, you can expect to find huge crowds and the best way to beat them is by either going early in the morning for a sunrise Eiffel Tower photo shoot or late in the evening at sunset.

At that time, the crowds will be fewer and you get to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower at the most beautiful times of the day.

And a big plus about the Trocadéro is that you get to take photos of the Eiffel Tower from various angles and spots with the notable ones being the Staircase , the main Trocadéro square which creates a beautiful reflection if you visit at the right time, the Fountain of Warsaw which creates a magnificent backdrop of the Eiffel tower photos and not forgetting the Beautiful Trocadéro gardens which brings out the beautiful contrasting greenery in the Eiffel tower pic.

With all those features, it’s not hard to see why the Trocadéro is one of the most famous and best Eiffel Tower photo spots as you can get a variety of beautiful pictures of the Eiffel tower from just one spot.

2. Champs De Mars

Want to get up close Eiffel Tower pictures, then head to Champs de Mars ! It is a beautiful garden right next to the Eiffel Tower.

It might seem a bit small but it’s actually quite big and you can take Eiffel Tower photos from various angles. This spot is particularly more beautiful if you visit during springtime as it offers some of the best cherry blossoms in Paris.

Imagine a photo of the Eiffel Tower with beautiful pink flowers in it – it can’t get any prettier than this! Spring is actually my favorite season to photograph the Eiffel Tower at Champs de Mars.

However, even if you can’t visit Paris in springtime , any time of the year is a great time to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower.

And if you want to even take it a notch higher and get some of the best pictures of the Eiffel Tower, you can plan a picnic right at the footsteps of the Iron Lady at this gorgeous park.

3. Rue de l’Université

If you’re standing in front of the Eiffel Tower with the Champs de Mars behind you, just head left and you’ll find this popular Eiffel Tower photo spot, Rue de l’Université .

It’s one of the popular Instagram spots in Paris so you can be sure to find people here, and if it’s not that, you’ll find cars parked so you’ll just have to find a way to take pics of the Eiffel Tower at the right moment to miss the cars or the people.

What makes this street popular and beautiful is that you get incredible views of the Eiffel Tower, together with a cobblestoned street and the typical Parisian architecture in one photo.

In my opinion, it’s the perfect place to get the best pictures of the Eiffel Tower. However, be sure to go to the exact spot as this street is quite big (the 10th longest in Paris to be exact), so if you’re not keen enough, you might end up in the wrong spot.

4. Passerelle Debilly

One of the beautiful Eiffel Tower Photo spots is the Passerelle Debilly ! This bridge that connects pedestrians from one side of the Seine to the other – from  Quai de New York  to the  Quai Branly is the perfect spot if you want to take Eiffel Tower pictures with the Seine River in them.

With the Eiffel Tower, the Seine, the love locks, and the bridge in one frame, you’re guaranteed to have a spectacular Eiffel Tower pic.

5. Square Rapp

If you love taking street photos of the Eiffel Tower, then you’ll love Square Rapp . It is a hidden gem off Avenue Rapp in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

The square overlooks the Eiffel Tower and various Haussmannian architecture-style buildings creating a beautiful Parisian charm and a one-of-a-kind Eiffel Tower photo op.

And, unlike other Eiffel Tower photo spots, Square Rapp is still unknown to many or others just ignore it, which means that you can take countless photos and take in this Eiffel Tower street view without the crowds.

And while in this spot, don’t just stop at taking pics of the Eiffel Tower, take some time to walk down the entire Avenue Rapp and you’ll be treated to secret but beautiful places in Paris you didn’t think existed right in the heart of the capital; like the Lavirotte Building and its controversial doorway known as the “door of Avenue Rapp” and other Haussmann buildings.

This to me is the best street for Eiffel Tower photos!

6. Montparnasse Tower

Sometimes capturing the Eiffel Tower means going to one of the tallest buildings in Paris and Montparnasse Tower is the perfect spot.

With it being directly opposite the Eiffel Tower, you get unobstructed views which means that the Eiffel Tower pics will come out perfectly well with the iron lady protruding through Paris’ rooftops.

You can go to Montparnasse Tower at any time but in my opinion, the best time to go is at sunset to be able to capture the iron lady with the backdrop of a beautiful sunset.

Unlike other Eiffel Tower photo spots, you’ll need to pay to access the Montparnasse Tower rooftop but the stunning Eiffel Tower views you get are worth the price.

And to make sure that you skip the Paris long lines at Montparnasse Tower, grab yourself this skip-the-line entry ticket .

7. Rue St. Dominique

Famous for being one of the best shopping streets in Paris , Rue St. Dominique in the 7th arrondissement also never disappoints when it comes to being a perfect Eiffel Tower photo shoot spot.

With the view of the Eiffel Tower “embroidered” right in the middle of the street with various cafes and partisan buildings beside it, you can be sure you’ll get the perfect Eiffel Tower street photo.

And when you finish capturing that perfect Eiffel Tower photo, don’t be in a rush to leave yet as there are lots of things to do on this charming street.

From indulging yourself with famous Parisian pastries from the many bakeries, eating your heart out at the cute cafes in the area, or shopping until you drop from the many stores.

Regardless of what fills your heart, you’ll find something to do while on your Eiffel Tower photography journey in the area.

8. Seine River

From all the Eiffel Tower photo spots mentioned here, I think the Seine River is the best. I know I keep saying that at almost every spot but there is something about the Seine that brings out the magic and beauty of the Eiffel Tower.

Actually, there is not one specific spot to take photos of the Eiffel Tower from the Seine but rather a variety. So all you have to do is look for a place along the Seine but also near the Trocadero and you’ll be able to capture the Iron Lady clearly.

Other spots at the Seine you can go to photograph the Eiffel Tower include; Pont Alexandre III , Pont Neuf , or even on a Seine River cruise.

The big plus about taking the river cruise is that you’ll get to see the Eiffel Tower from different angles hence taking various photos.

You can take pics of the Eiffel Tower from the Seine at any time but I recommend going at night as you’ll be able to capture the Eiffel Tower with the reflection of the shimmering lights on the water which creates such a magical sight and photo op.

Pro tip* If you choose to go for a Seine cruise, I recommend taking this one if you prefer a day-time cruise but if you prefer photographing the Eiffel Tower as it shimmers at the top of the hour, I recommend taking this Seine river dinner cruise for an absolutely great time.

9. Pont de Bir Hakeim

Another bridge in Paris where you can take stunning photos of the Eiffel Tower is the Pont de Bir Hakeim . The bridge crosses the Seine connecting the 15th and 16th arrondissements .

Its prime location opposite the tower and its design with the steel columns next to it and lanterns in between make for a perfect photo spot of the Eiffel Tower.

While it’s not an incredibly busy bridge like some others, it’s an actual operational bridge with cars and pedestrians.

So while taking that perfectly framed Eiffel Tower pic, be on the lookout not to cause an accident! Being one of the best Eiffel Tower photoshoot ideas, it’s not uncommon to find wedding shoots going on here.

10. Pont d’Iéna

Probably the most famous spot to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower at night or even at sunset. With just a few steps from the Trocadéro, Pont De’lena is the easiest way to connect to the Eiffel Tower from both sides of the Seine – the left and right banks.

At this spot, you’ll literally look like you’re taking photos from under the Eiffel Tower which is quite a unique shot compared to ones taken from other places — something that makes Pont De’lena a really special Eiffel Tower photo spot.

11. Avenue de Camoens

If you’re looking for hidden or less crowded Eiffel Tower photo spots, then look no further than Avenue de Camoens in the 16th Arrondissement.

Since it is located at the top of a staircase, not so many people know about it which means that you’ll be able to take countless photos of the Eiffel Tower without feeling like you’re “hogging” the place.

With the staircase and beautiful Parisian buildings in the background, this place makes for a perfect Eiffel Tower photoshoot spot.

12. Rue de Monttessuy

If you’re like me who can’t get enough of street photos of the Eiffel Tower, then add Rue de Monttessuy in the 7th arrondissement to your Parisian bucket list .

Unlike other places that give that old Parisian charm, this spot has some newer buildings so it will be nice to have a little bit of contrast between the Eiffel Tower and the newer angle of Paris.

13. Galeries Lafayette Rooftop

Another place to take a stunning photo of the Eiffel Tower in Paris is the Galeries Lafayette Rooftop . This Parisian department store may be famous for shopping since it houses luxurious brands but its terrace offers stunning views of the Eiffel Tower.

Unlike other Eiffel Tower photo spots on this list, from here, you can see other popular attractions like the Paris Opera and not forgetting the stunning Paris roofs.

14. Arc de Triomphe observation deck is one of the Eiffel Tower Best Photo Spots

One of my all-time favorite spots to take photos of the Eiffel Tower is the Observation deck of the Arc de Triomphe !

What makes this spot perfect is that it’s not too high so you get to see everything clearly instead of seeing small items below. Besides the view of the Eiffel Tower, you also get to see how 12 roads diverge from the Arc.

Stunning and beautiful, this is one of the best places to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower.

However, since you need to climb the Arc, you’ll need to buy this skip-the-line ticket to avoid wasting time in queues.

15. From The Top Of Sacré Coeur

Being on the highest place in Paris, Sacré Coeur offers an opportunity to photograph the Eiffel Tower without any obstructions.

From here, you get a stunning view of the entire city too! I recommend going there at sunset to see the entire city covered in beautiful yellow-orange-hued colors.

You should note that you’ll need to climb the 300 steps here as there is no elevator and you’ll pay a small fee to climb to the dome even though visiting the church itself is free.

16. From Pont Alexandre III

Pont Alexandre III is my favorite bridge in Paris! Besides being beautifully made with golden statues and street lamps, it’s one of the places to take the best photos of Eiffel Tower.

With the beautiful bridge, the Seine, and the Iron Lady in one frame, this is truly one of the best Eiffel Tower picture ideas.

17. From Various Paris Hotels

While this may not be for everyone since hotels with Eiffel Tower views come with a huge price tag but if budget is not a problem, you may consider staying at one of those hotels.

Some of the hotels to stay at to be able to take stunning photos of the Eiffel Tower include; Shangri-La Paris hotel in the 16th Arrondissement, Hôtel Eiffel Petit Louvre in the 15th, Hotel Le Meurice in the 1st Arrondissement, and many others.

18. From Pont Neuf

Pont Neuf is not only one of the beautiful bridges of Paris but also the best spot to take Eiffel Tower pictures.

While you can go any time, I recommend going at sunset to enjoy a colorful and beautiful sunset with the Eiffel Tower and another bridge in the background!

19. From île aux Cygnes

Many people may not know this but Paris has 3 islands! The 2 natural ones, île Saint-Louis and île de la Cité , and the artificial one called île aux Cygnes in the 15th arrondissement which we’re talking about now.

île aux Cygnes is famous for having the most famous and biggest replica of the Statue of Liberty in Paris but besides this, it’s also one of the best Eiffel Tower photo spots.

Unlike other places we’ve looked at before, this one is a little bit less known for those looking for Paris hidden gems .

20. From Rue Le Tasse

Still looking for where to take the best pictures of the Eiffel Tower? Then head to Rue Le Tasse .

While most people flock to Rue de l’Université making it packed almost all the time, one street that equally gives the same Eiffel Tower photo opportunities is Rue Le Tasse in the 16th arrondissement.

So if you’re looking for Eiffel Tower photo ideas where you won’t “fight” for a spot with other Instagrammers, check this one out.

1. Trocadéro is the best Eiffel Tower photo spot.

The Esplanade de Trocadéro is the place that offers the most spectacular view over Eiffel Tower. While some renovation works are still in place, most of the photo spots are now available . The aim of the works is to build the largest garden in Paris, with a 1.6km long green space around the Eiffel Tower to allow pedestrians and cyclists to move around freely. What spots around Trocadéro are not available anymore?

There is one spot that is permanently not available for pictures: the wall . Meaning that it’s not possible to take photos sitting on the wall anymore. The reason for this is that the top of the wall was modified to make sitting impossible. See the photos below.

2. Avenue de Camoëns. Second best Eiffel Tower photo spot.

This is a quiet street that offers a great view over the Eiffel Tower. The uniqueness of this place is the beautiful architecture that surrounds the street. The typical Haussmanian buildings offer that one of a kind Parisian charm.

3. Bir Hakeim bridge (Inception bridge)

The Bir Hakeim bridge, famous from the movie Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio has one of the most spectacular views overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The uniqueness of this Eiffel Tower spot is the fact that the bridge itself is beautiful and can make for a cool backdrop for your Paris pictures.

4. The Seine River – Romantic Eiffel Tower Photo Spot

There is something about water that makes it romantic. Many couples choose to celebrate their marriage on a river cruise on the Seine River. There is a great spot close to the Tower that offers a gorgeous view and it’s perfect for romantic pictures. If the water means something to you as a couple, then this spot should be on the list.

5. Promenade Marie de Roumanie

This spot is probably one of the prettiest around the Eiffel, especially during the warm season. There are several Parisian benches that are great props for pictures. However, the uniqueness of this location are the blossoming roses. Red, purple, white, yellow, simply choose the color that matches your photo shoot outfits .

6. Rue de l’Université

This cute little street is right next to the Eiffel Tower. The view is quite spectacular due to the proximity of the tower, which measures 1063 ft .

7. Pasarelle Debilly

This pedestrian bridge is in walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and the well known exquisite restaurant Monsieur Bleu . More and more people leave their love-locks on this bridge (we don’t encourage such gestures by the way, to preserve the looks of the city), so in your pictures, you’ll see these as well.

8. Rue Saint Dominique

This spot is a bit further from the Eiffel Tower, close to the Café Le Recrutement. The typical Parisian buildings and a street that breaths Parisian air are the ideal setting for romantic street pictures with the Eiffel Tower.

9. Alexander 3 bridge

If all the other spots that we mentioned earlier are within walking distance from the Tower, to get to the Alexander 3 bridge we recommend to take public transportation or taxi/uber. The bridge is probably one of the best photography spots in Paris . The incredibly elegant architecture and the beautiful golden details make it perfect for romantic photos. Plus, you can get the Eiffel Tower in your pictures.

Café Photos

If you are on a Paris photo session itinerary, after so many pictures with the Eiffel Tower and walking, you’d appreciate a strategic stop in a Parisian café. We recommend Casé Castel that is very close to the Tower and has great cappuccino. If you have booked a multi-hours photo shoot, then you can change outfits here for your next location. If not, then it would be fun to finish your photo session with a few piece-of-life pictures. Enjoying a delicious croissant and cappuccino.

Where to take the best eiffel tower pictures….

Paris is somewhere that always manages to sparkle no matter how many times you photograph it. It’s one of those fascinating cities that feels like it’s constantly changing even though it remains in the same beautiful historic state and the Eiffel Tower is one of those unique icons that never gets old, it is simply spectacular.

Every visit to Paris offers a new chance to see the city and all of its charms from a new angle, in a different light or even with fresh eyes.

When it comes to photography locations in Paris, there’s so many to list that it would take a collection of encyclopedia’s to really cover them all. Is it just me that still thinks encyclopedias are cool? Anyway, I published a guide to the best Paris photo spots two years ago and it’s one of the most popular articles on The Wandering Lens. This time I want to delve a little deeper into fourteen of my favourite perspectives you can take photos of the Eiffel Tower, sharing a few places that offer great views of this mighty icon.

A little tip – to skip the queue, you can purchase your Eiffel Tower ticket ahead of time. Select your date, time and you can even purchase a multi-person ticket or combine entry with a tour, dining experience, or access to the Louvre!

#01 Pont de Bir Hakeim

Another one of my favourite locations is this bridge which is perfectly located right near the Eiffel Tower across the River Seine.

From Pont de Bir Hakeim you get a direct view towards the Eiffel Tower and there’s usually some gorgeous houseboats moored along the river to add something extra to your shot. The bridge itself has some shiny black railings that are great to use for creating your own reflections by spilling some water and making little puddles!

The bridge has a central section with ornate arches that repeat their way along under the railway. This is a great subject to use for framing the Eiffel Tower and also capturing people passing by on their bicycles.

Photo Tip: Take a water bottle to create puddles along the railings, the surface is perfect for creating reflections so you don’t even need to wait for a rainy day!

When to visit: This is one of those spots that’s rarely popular at sunset so it’s a great time to venture away from the crowds of Trocadero and find yourself a great perspective to watch the sky change colours above the Eiffel Tower.

#02 Place du Trocadero

Let’s kick things off with Trocadero because it’s surely the most photographed view of the Eiffel Tower and one of the best places to take photos of the Eiffel Tower. Sitting across the River Seine, here you’ll find grand staircases that lead to the most popular place to photograph the Eiffel Tower.

Depending on which direction you arrive, you’ll either enter from behind the Palais de Chaillot or from the Eiffel Tower itself, passing the Jardins du Trocadero and the Warsaw Fountains as you walk up to the viewpoint. Once you set eyes on the Eiffel Tower the moment is so very special, especially if it’s your first time!

You’ll know you’re in the right place because usually there’s hundreds if not thousands of people here, especially at sunset! In fact, I’d suggest coming to photograph here at sunrise to avoid the crowds and then leave sunset for somewhere a little less crowded.

Be sure to wander through the gardens looking for a different angle to capture the Eiffel Tower, or compose your shot so it includes the surroundings, the path or go minimalistic (read my quick guide to minimal photos here ) and just capture the tower with the sky behind.

Photo Tips: Use the Warsaw Fountains to create a unique perspective of the Eiffel Tower. When they’re on and blasting into the air, you can use them to frame your shot, or when they’re off the pone is great for reflections or popping in your little underwater camera for an even more creative shot.

When to visit Place du Trocadero: Sunrise! Avoid all the tour buses, crowds and street performers by arriving at sunrise to photograph this beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower.

#02 Banks of the River Seine

The walk from the Louvre down towards the Eiffel Tower is filled with photography opportunities.

Stick to the northern side of the river and you’ll come across some great angles to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower from the many bridges that cross the river.

Some highlights include the Pont Alexandre III which offers extravagant statues and detailing to use as foreground subjects to compose your shots.

Further along is the Pont de l’Alma which rests on a curve of the River Seine so provides a beautiful view directly across the river towards the Eiffel Tower.

As you walk alongside the river, keep an eye out for trees that may be great for framing. Particularly in spring when the blossoms are in bloom and gorgeous pink flowers make for a pretty picture!

Photo Tip: Take your time and stroll along with your camera ready to capture a whole variety of shots. Look for reflections and creative framing possibilities. ( Read my guide to Creative Photography techniques here , many of which I’ve used to photograph the Eiffel Tower)

When to visit: Time your walk for the afternoon then return after sunset so you can see it in a different light.

#04 La Basilique du Sacre Coeur

This is by far my favourite place to view the Eiffel Tower and watch as sunset falls over the city of Paris bringing with it a warm glow and little sparkle in the windows below. A lot of people visit Montmartre and the Basilique du Sacre Coeur but only stand on the steps in front. The best view is from the very top, 300 steps above in the dome of the church.

It has 300 steps that scurry up in spiral staircases, then across outdoor platforms before reaching the final viewing point. If you’re not a fan of small spaces or get a little claustrophobic, this might not be a great activity for you.

Once you’re at the top of the dome though, the views are magnifique! And, there’s actually quite a lot of space at the top where you can wander around and see Paris from all angles.

To find the stairs, you need to walk outside the church and down a staircase to the left of the church entrance. Here you’ll find a small ticket booth and access to climb to the dome. Prices vary but it’s roughly 5euro per person.

If there is one place to see Paris from and to capture photos of the Eiffel Tower it’s from this spot. I’ve spent many special evenings watching the colours change over Paris as I snapped happily away taking pictures of the Eiffel Tower and the cities skyline.

Photo Tip: Arrive well before sunset to find a great perspective and secure your spot. You can use the structure itself to frame your shot or take along a zoom lens to capture the buildings and bring the Eiffel Tower in a little closer.

When to visit: Opening hours for the dome are daily from 8:30am to 8pm (May to September) and 9am to 5pm (October to April). I suggest timing your visit so you can watch the golden hour and photograph as the light changes and dusk appears. Allow yourself about two hours if you really want to capture some magic! I could barely tear myself away from the view, it’s so special and you’re rarely sharing it with anyone else because the stairs are quite the deterrent!

#05 Montmartre + #06 Rue Azais

Perched high up on a hill at roughly 130m high, Montmartre is a great location to view and photograph the Eiffel Tower from.

The most popular place in Montmartre is in front of the Basilique du Sacre Coeur however if you wander along Rue Azais to the right, there’s a lovely little path that provides views over the rooftops near Moulin Rouge and the streets below.

There’s a few viewpoints around Montmartre so take some time to explore the smaller streets and always keep an eye out for whenever the Eiffel Tower appears.

Photo Tip: Use the surrounding buildings to frame your images and show some foreground detail to create a different perspective of the Eiffel Tower.

When to visit: Anytime of day is beautiful from Montmartre but personally I love the warm afternoon light, it really makes the colours of the buildings and cityscape glow.

#07 Champ de Mars

Forming a large garden area between the École Militaire and Eiffel Tower, the Champ de Mars is a great place to capture various angles of the Eiffel Tower. You can capture wide angle landscapes, close up details of the structure, head up to the top or use the surrounding gardens to your advantage.

Depending on what time of year you’re visiting, you’ll either have beautiful blossoms lining the way to the Eiffel Tower, brilliant bright green trees or twigs if you’re there in winter. Regardless though, the tree lined avenues that lead along each side of the Champ de Mars are great to use in your photographs to create leading lines and point the viewer towards the subject.

In summer you can set up a picnic on the lawn and spend all day there if you like!

This is the spot to go for iconic photos of the Eiffel Tower

Photo Tip: Look around for angles to utilise the gardens and trees to frame your image.

When to visit: If you want to avoid crowds and capture a shot without anyone in it, visit at sunrise. That said, there’s so much space here that you really can visit at any time of the day and find somewhere without people. Stick to the side paths and you’ll find some great angles.

#08 Rue Jean Ray

This might be a personal favourite, but when arriving from Bir Hakeim metro station, this will be the first point in which you see the Eiffel Tower as you cross the River Seine when travelling from the north. Otherwise, once you exit the station and venture towards the Eiffel Tower, your first glimpse will be just around the corner.

Also, at the corner of Rue Jean Ray you’ll find the Australian embassy so there’s usually a giant photo of a koala or kangaroo on the side of the building which I always love to photograph alongside the Eiffel Tower.

If you’re not Australian and don’t find that cute in anyway, Rue Jean Ray is also home to the Mercure Paris Centre Tour Eiffel and Pullman Hotel, both which have incredible close-up views of the Eiffel Tower from their rooms.

Photo Tip: Book a room at the Mercure hotel and ask for a corner room on level 11 (room 1131 if you can get it)…it’s actually quite affordable and you’ll be waking up to sunrise over the Eiffel Tower and falling asleep to the spark of the hourly light show.

When to visit: Anytime of year!

#09 Tour Montparnasse

Offering panoramic views of Paris from the 200m high tower, this is one spot you can’t miss because it’s absolutely incredible.

From the top you can see the Champ de Mars and its perfectly designed lines leading towards the Eiffel Tower with the surrounding avenues and buildings adding to the beauty.

The tower is open throughout the day and until late at night meaning you can take your pick of what you want to see and photograph. If sparkling city lights are your thing, it’s a great place to set up your tripod and capture a long exposure of the lights below.

Sunset can get a little crowded at the top so if you are hoping to capture one of those iconic landscape shots of Paris, it’s well worth arriving early to secure your spot and stand strong to make sure you get the angle you’re after.

Photo Tip: There’s a bunch of shots that can be taken from this view point so be sure to have with you a wide-angle lens and a zoom if possible to snap some varied perspectives.

When to visit: The tower is open year-round from 9:30am until 11:30pm during the summer or 10:30pm in winter (except Fri + Sat which is 11pm). The adult price to enter is €17 .

#10 Galeries Lafayette Haussmann Rooftop

This little surprise is hiding up on the roof of this luxury department store. The good news? You don’t have to buy anything to enter!

Waltz through and head straight for the highest floor then wander out to see a magnificent view over the rooftops of Paris towards the Eiffel Tower.

Because the department store is located within the Opera quartier, you’ll be treated to views over the Palais Garnier which adds another element of history to your image.

Photo Tip: Keep an eye out for beautiful details in the surrounding buildings to use as foreground subjects for your image. Sometimes there will be art schools drawing the view from the top who can also act as great subjects! It provides a unique place to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower while exploring a beautiful suburb of Paris.

When to visit: This viewpoint is only accessible during the stores opening hours but during winter months that’s until 8pm meaning there’s the possibility of photographing sunset from here.

#11 Cathedral de Notre Dame

UPDATE: Please note Notre Dame is no longer open to the public and is undergoing an extensive repair due to a fire in April, 2019.

Another day another rooftop but this time, it’s the incredible towers of the Cathedral de Notre Dame! No visit to Paris is complete without seeing the gargoyles and fascinating details of the Notre Dame Cathedral, but for views of the Eiffel Tower, this is one of the best locations.

From the towers of the cathedral, you get views looking over the River Seine down towards the Eiffel Tower and believe me, it’s absolutely beautiful.

You can use the gargoyles as foreground subjects for your images or zoom in to capture Pont Saint-Michel and the river at the base of your composition.

Photo Tip: Arrive early. I mean before opening time to ensure you’re at least close to the front of the queue. There’s a lot of people that pass through the towers of Notre Dame and with only a limited amount of people allowed up at any one time, it’s essential to arrive early otherwise you’ll spend more time waiting in line that taking photos.

Also you’ll need to be relatively fast when taking photos because it’s on more of a rotation visit than a stop and relax kind of situation.

When to visit: Like I said above, first thing in the morning as soon at the towers open at 10am. Also don’t forget to visit inside afterwards! The queue for the rooftop starts around the side of the cathedral in Rue de Cliotre-Notre-Dame.

#12 Pont d’Iéna + #13 the Carousel de Tour Eiffel

This spot might be quite obvious because it’s smack bang in front of the Eiffel Tower, but you’ll be surprised how many people forget to take a photo here.

The Pont d’Iéna acts as a photo ready avenue leading towards the tower, a great subject for wider compositions if you can manage to get a spot to yourself.

Traffic passes over the bridge very regularly so once the light drops, you can snap some great long exposures here with the blurring of headlights and movement of the traffic.

Just before crossing Quai Branley to the Eiffel Tower, on the right you’ll probably be distracted by a very photogenic carousel. It’s a great subject to use in photos of the Eiffel Tower, especially once it starts spinning around!

Photo Tip: Drop your shutter speed and capture some long exposures of the traffic on the bridge with the Eiffel Tower glowing behind. The same for the carousel, get nice and low and line up the Eiffel Tower so it’s just popping out from the carousel.

When to visit: Dusk is a beautiful time to photograph on the bridge and by the carousel. It’ll lead into the evening making it the perfect time to capture longer exposures.

#14 One last spot just for fun… the Avenue de Camoens

Grab that fashionista shot here at the Avenue de Camoens located just near Trocadero.

You’ll find this small street only a five-minute walk from Place du Trocadero meaning you can do both locations in the one stop with each offering a different perspective.

At the end of the Avenue de Camoens, there’s a beautiful lamp post and the perfect location to grab a romantic portrait with the Eiffel Tower sparkling behind.

While Parisians initially hated the Eiffel Tower, it would now be impossible to imagine the city without this iconic French landmark. That’s why tourists and locals love to capture photos of the Eiffel Tower.

14 Best Eiffel Tower Photo Spots in Paris

Of course, this post could also be alternatively titled, the best place to view the Eiffel Tower if you’re looking for a chill walk day in Paris around the Eiffel Tower.

As I mentioned above, the Eiffel Tower is the tallest monument in Paris, which means you can see the Eiffel Tower from many spots in Paris.

The Eiffel Tower can be visible all around Paris from 60km to 80km if the air quality is good and the sky is clear so that you can see it from the dome of the Sacré Coeur Basilica or in Belleville Park.

Sadly, the air quality is often poor in Paris, so on some days when the weather is bad, you can only see half of the Tower.

It’s a strange view when you only see the Tower’s lower part!

There are a lot of places in Paris where you can get gorgeous shots of the Eiffel Tower, and here they are:

There are plenty of spots around the Eiffel Tower, but those streets around the Eiffel Tower are the best ones if you’re looking for an excellent place to take photos.

Champs de Mars

Champs de Mars is a great spot to picnic and enjoy the scenery with the Eiffel Tower in the background in Spring and summer in Paris.

Note: Due to construction, there are very unpleasant-looking panels on the Parvis; however, you can still find nice spots, such as the staircase below, where you can still get photos of the Eiffel Tower and yourself, like you probably often see on Instagram!

I still have yet to do that myself!

AVENUE RAPP & Square Rapp

You can also find another iconic Instagram photo spot on Avenue Rapp, a beautiful door.

There are plenty of inserting angles and streets. You can shoot the Eiffel Tower on this avenue. From cute Parisian cafes to flower shops, you’ll find the best places to take photos of the Eiffel Tower on Avenue Rapp!

You can also find quite a few good cafés and restaurants there if you’re looking for a spot to eat or to enjoy a drink on the terrace like the locals.

Square Rapp is an adorable square where you can get another different angle from the Eiffel Tower.

However, please note that the court is private property, and as people didn’t respect the inhabitant’s privacy, entering it is no longer permitted; you can still shoot from the street, though!

Right after Avenue Rapp, you’ll find Rue Saint Dominique, another good spot to take photos of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

It gets bustling quickly because this spot is famous, so it is better to get there early in the morning if you’d like the place to yourself or at least less crowded to shoot more freely.

Rue de l’université

Rue de l’Université is another one of the most famous Instagram spots to take photos of the Eiffel Tower.

Therefore it is always crowded. If you want to get some shot of yourself there, you need to make sure to get there first thing in the morning; otherwise, just like “Avenue Camoens”, this spot gets super crowded.

Rue Monttessuy

Another street around the Eiffel Tower with more modern-looking buildings where you can take some beautiful photos of the Eiffel Tower. It’s hard to find a street that doesn’t make a great spot to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower.

Avenue De New-York

Avenue de New York is a walkable path to stroll along the Seine and view the Eiffel Tower.

It makes the perfect place to walk up to Alexandre III Bridge, for example, and is another of the best places to take photos of the Eiffel Tower.

You can find many spots to take photos of the Eiffel Tower; it’s excellent! The bank of the Seine is also accessible from various points, making great photo spots for the Eiffel Tower.

JARDIN DES TUILERIES/PLACE DE LA CONCORDE

Place de la Concorde

You can get some stunning shots directly from Place de la Concorde, with its beautiful fountain and grandiose obelisk; it’s also a fantastic place to view the Eiffel Tower!

Passerelle Debilly

Or Debilly Footbridge is located very close to the Eiffel Tower. You can get beautiful photos on and off of it!

It is also less crowded than the famous bridges, where people usually take photos of the Eiffel Tower.

The main bridge in front of the Eiffel tower is the perfect spot to take photos of the Eiffel Tower!

You can get plenty of fun angles or use the street; however, if you shoot directly from the road, make sure to be careful about the traffic, as this area is quite chaotic.

Bir Hakeim Bridge

A very famous Bridge near the Eiffel Tower, also a filming location for the movie “Inception”.

This bridge has fascinating architecture as the Metro passes on top of it; it’s the perfect spot if you love lines and parallel; it is lovely to work on some photo ideas.

You can find the “La France Renaissance” statue next to it, another spot to take photos of the Eiffel Tower.

It’s not rare to find newlyweds from around the world doing Eiffel Tower photoshoots around this area or Trocadero.

Eiffel Tower from Alexandre iii Bridge

Easily one of Paris’s most beautiful bridges you can see in Paris, as well as famous Paris Landmarks. The Alexandre III Bridge offers a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower, and the beautiful golden ornament of the bridge makes the view even more attractive.

Of course, the bridge is already stunning and a great place to take photos in Paris, but add the Eiffel Tower in the background, and now you have a perfect snapshot of Paris!

It’s a bit of a walk from the Eiffel Tower but worth it and enjoyable when the weather is nice in Paris.

Paris est un endroit qui réussit toujours à briller, peu importe le nombre de fois où vous le photographiez. C’est l’une de ces villes fascinantes qui a l’impression de changer constamment même si elle reste dans le même bel état historique et que la Tour Eiffel est l’une de ces icônes uniques qui ne vieillit jamais, elle est tout simplement spectaculaire.

Chaque visite à Paris offre une nouvelle chance de voir la ville et tous ses charmes sous un nouvel angle, sous un jour différent ou même avec des yeux frais.

En ce qui concerne les lieux de photographie à Paris, il y en a tellement à énumérer qu’il faudrait une collection d’encyclopédies pour vraiment les couvrir tous. Est-ce juste moi qui pense toujours que les encyclopédies sont cool? Plan : Où prendre des photos de la Tour Eiffel

Pont de Bir Hakeim

Un autre de mes endroits préférés est ce pont qui est parfaitement situé juste à côté de la Tour Eiffel sur la Seine.

De Pont de Bir Hakeim, vous avez une vue directe sur la Tour Eiffel et il y a généralement de magnifiques péniches amarrées le long de la rivière pour ajouter quelque chose de plus à votre tir. Le pont lui-même a des balustrades noires brillantes qui sont idéales pour créer vos propres reflets en renversant de l’eau et en faisant de petites flaques d’eau!

Le pont a une section centrale avec des arches ornées qui se répètent sous la voie ferrée. C’est un excellent sujet à utiliser pour encadrer la Tour Eiffel et capturer les passants à vélo.

Conseil Photo: Prenez une bouteille d’eau pour créer des flaques d’eau le long des garde-corps, la surface est parfaite pour créer des reflets, vous n’avez même pas besoin d’attendre un jour de pluie!

Quand visiter: C’est l’un de ces endroits rarement populaires au coucher du soleil, c’est donc le moment idéal pour s’aventurer loin de la foule du Trocadéro et trouver une excellente perspective pour regarder le ciel changer de couleur au-dessus de la Tour Eiffel.

Place du Trocadéro

Commençons par le Trocadéro car c’est sûrement la vue la plus photographiée de la Tour Eiffel et l’un des meilleurs endroits pour prendre des photos de la Tour Eiffel. Assis de l’autre côté de la Seine, vous trouverez ici de grands escaliers qui mènent à l’endroit le plus populaire pour photographier la Tour Eiffel.

Selon la direction dans laquelle vous arrivez, vous entrerez soit par derrière le Palais de Chaillot, soit par la Tour Eiffel elle-même, en passant par les Jardins du Trocadéro et les Fontaines de Varsovie en montant au point de vue. Une fois que vous avez posé les yeux sur la Tour Eiffel, le moment est très spécial, surtout si c’est votre première fois!

Vous saurez que vous êtes au bon endroit car il y a généralement des centaines, voire des milliers de personnes ici, surtout au coucher du soleil! En fait, je suggère de venir photographier ici au lever du soleil pour éviter la foule, puis de quitter le coucher du soleil pour un endroit un peu moins fréquenté.

N’oubliez pas de flâner dans les jardins à la recherche d’un angle différent pour capturer la Tour Eiffel, ou composez votre cliché pour qu’il inclue l’environnement, le chemin ou allez minimaliste (lire mon guide rapide pour les photos minimales ici ) et il suffit de capturer la tour avec le ciel derrière.

Conseils Photo: Utilisez les fontaines de Varsovie pour créer une perspective unique de la Tour Eiffel. Lorsqu’ils sont allumés et explosent en l’air, vous pouvez les utiliser pour cadrer votre prise de vue, ou lorsqu’ils sont hors du pone, ils sont parfaits pour les reflets ou pour apparaître dans votre petit appareil photo sous-marin pour une prise de vue encore plus créative.

Quand se rendre Place du Trocadéro ?: Sunrise! Évitez tous les bus de tournée, la foule et les artistes de rue en arrivant au lever du soleil pour photographier cette belle vue sur la Tour Eiffel.

Rives de la Seine

La promenade du Louvre vers la Tour Eiffel est remplie d’opportunités de photographie.

Restez sur le côté nord de la rivière et vous rencontrerez de superbes angles pour prendre des photos de la Tour Eiffel depuis les nombreux ponts qui traversent la rivière.

Parmi les points forts, citons le Pont Alexandre III qui propose des statues et des détails extravagants à utiliser comme sujets de premier plan pour composer vos clichés.

Plus loin se trouve le Pont de l’Alma qui repose sur une courbe de la Seine offrant ainsi une belle vue directement sur la rivière en direction de la Tour Eiffel.

Pendant que vous marchez le long de la rivière, gardez un œil sur les arbres qui peuvent être parfaits pour l’encadrement. Surtout au printemps, lorsque les fleurs sont en fleurs et que de magnifiques fleurs roses font une jolie image!

Conseil Photo: Prenez votre temps et promenez-vous avec votre appareil photo prêt à capturer toute une variété de clichés. Recherchez des réflexions et des possibilités de cadrage créatif. ( Lisez mon guide des techniques de photographie créative ici , dont beaucoup que j’ai utilisé pour photographier la Tour Eiffel)

Quand visiter: Chronométrez votre promenade pour l’après-midi puis revenez après le coucher du soleil afin que vous puissiez le voir sous un jour différent.

La Basilique du Sacré Coeur

C’est de loin mon endroit préféré pour admirer la Tour Eiffel et regarder le coucher du soleil tomber sur la ville de Paris, apportant avec elle une lueur chaude et un peu d’éclat dans les fenêtres ci-dessous. Beaucoup de gens visitent Montmartre et la Basilique du Sacré-Cœur mais ne se tiennent que sur les marches devant. La meilleure vue est du sommet, 300 marches au-dessus dans le dôme de l’église.

Il a 300 marches qui se précipitent dans des escaliers en colimaçon, puis sur des plates-formes extérieures avant d’atteindre le point de vue final. Si vous n’êtes pas un fan des petits espaces ou si vous êtes un peu claustrophobe, ce n’est peut-être pas une excellente activité pour vous.

Une fois que vous êtes au sommet du dôme, les vues sont magnifiques! Et, il y a en fait beaucoup d’espace au sommet où vous pouvez vous promener et voir Paris sous tous les angles.

Pour trouver les escaliers, vous devez sortir de l’église et descendre un escalier à gauche de l’entrée de l’église. Ici, vous trouverez une petite billetterie et un accès pour monter au dôme. Les prix varient mais c’est environ 5euro par personne.

S’il y a un endroit pour voir Paris et prendre des photos de la Tour Eiffel, c’est de cet endroit. J’ai passé de nombreuses soirées spéciales à regarder les couleurs changer sur Paris alors que je prenais joyeusement des photos de la Tour Eiffel et des toits des villes.

Conseil Photo: Arrivez bien avant le coucher du soleil pour trouver une excellente perspective et sécuriser votre place. Vous pouvez utiliser la structure elle-même pour cadrer votre photo ou prendre un zoom pour capturer les bâtiments et rapprocher un peu plus la Tour Eiffel.

Quand visiter: Les heures d’ouverture du dôme sont quotidiennes de 8h30 à 20h (Mai à septembre) et de 9h à 17h (Octobre à avril). Je suggère de chronométrer votre visite afin que vous puissiez regarder l’heure dorée et photographier à mesure que la lumière change et que le crépuscule apparaît. Accordez-vous environ deux heures si vous voulez vraiment capturer de la magie! Je pouvais à peine m’arracher à la vue, c’est tellement spécial et vous le partagez rarement avec quelqu’un d’autre parce que les escaliers sont assez dissuasifs!

Rue de Montmartre

Perché sur une colline à environ 130 mètres d’altitude, Montmartre est un endroit idéal pour admirer et photographier la Tour Eiffel.

L’endroit le plus populaire de Montmartre est en face de la Basilique du Sacré Cœur, mais si vous vous promenez le long de la rue Azais à droite, il y a un joli petit chemin qui offre une vue sur les toits près du Moulin Rouge et les rues ci-dessous.

Il y a quelques points de vue autour de Montmartre, alors prenez le temps d’explorer les petites rues et gardez toujours un œil sur chaque fois que la Tour Eiffel apparaît.

Conseil Photo: Utilisez les bâtiments environnants pour cadrer vos images et montrer des détails au premier plan pour créer une perspective différente de la Tour Eiffel.

Quand visiter: Chaque fois que la journée est belle de Montmartre, mais personnellement, j’aime la chaude lumière de l’après-midi, elle fait vraiment briller les couleurs des bâtiments et du paysage urbain.

Champ de Mars

Formant un grand jardin entre l’École Militaire et la Tour Eiffel, le Champ de Mars est un endroit idéal pour capturer différents angles de la Tour Eiffel. Vous pouvez capturer des paysages grand angle, fermer les détails de la structure, monter au sommet ou utiliser les jardins environnants à votre avantage.

Selon la période de l’année que vous visitez, vous aurez soit de belles fleurs qui bordent le chemin de la Tour Eiffel, des arbres d’un vert brillant ou des brindilles si vous y êtes en hiver. Quoi qu’il en soit, les avenues bordées d’arbres qui mènent de chaque côté du Champ de Mars sont idéales pour vos photographies pour créer des lignes directrices et pointer le spectateur vers le sujet.

En été, vous pouvez organiser un pique-nique sur la pelouse et y passer toute la journée si vous le souhaitez!

C’est l’endroit idéal pour prendre des photos emblématiques de la Tour Eiffel

Conseil Photo: Cherchez des angles pour utiliser les jardins et les arbres pour encadrer votre image.

Quand visiter: Si vous voulez éviter les foules et capturer une photo sans personne dedans, visitez au lever du soleil. Cela dit, il y a tellement d’espace ici que vous pouvez vraiment visiter à tout moment de la journée et trouver un endroit sans personnes. Collez-vous aux chemins latéraux et vous trouverez de superbes angles.

Rue Jean Ray

Cela pourrait être un favori personnel, mais en arrivant de la station de métro Bir Hakeim, ce sera le premier point où vous verrez la Tour Eiffel lorsque vous traverserez la Seine en venant du nord. Sinon, une fois que vous sortez de la gare et que vous vous aventurez vers la Tour Eiffel, votre premier aperçu sera juste au coin de la rue.

De plus, à l’angle de la rue Jean Ray, vous trouverez l’ambassade d’Australie, donc il y a généralement une photo géante d’un koala ou d’un kangourou sur le côté du bâtiment que j’aime toujours photographier à côté de la Tour Eiffel.

Si vous n’êtes pas australien et que vous ne trouvez pas ça mignon de toute façon, la rue Jean Ray abrite également le Mercure Paris Tour Eiffel et l’hôtel Pullman, tous deux offrant une vue imprenable sur la Tour Eiffel depuis leurs chambres.

Conseil Photo: Réservez une chambre à l’hôtel Mercure et demandez une chambre d’angle au niveau 11 (chambre 1131 si vous pouvez l’obtenir)it c’est en fait assez abordable et vous vous réveillerez au lever du soleil sur la Tour Eiffel et vous endormirez à l’étincelle du spectacle de lumière horaire.

Quand visiter: À tout moment de l’année!

Tour de France

Offrant une vue panoramique sur Paris depuis la tour de 200 m de haut, c’est un endroit à ne pas manquer car il est absolument incroyable.

Du sommet, vous pouvez voir le Champ de Mars et ses lignes parfaitement conçues menant à la Tour Eiffel avec les avenues et les bâtiments environnants ajoutant à la beauté.

La tour est ouverte toute la journée et jusque tard dans la nuit, ce qui signifie que vous pouvez choisir ce que vous voulez voir et photographier. Si les lumières scintillantes de la ville sont votre truc, c’est un endroit idéal pour installer votre trépied et capturer une longue exposition des lumières ci-dessous.

Le coucher de soleil peut être un peu encombré au sommet, donc si vous espérez capturer l’un de ces paysages emblématiques de Paris, cela vaut la peine d’arriver tôt pour sécuriser votre place et rester fort pour vous assurer d’obtenir l’angle que vous recherchez.

Conseil Photo: Il y a un tas de photos qui peuvent être prises à partir de ce point de vue, alors assurez-vous d’avoir avec vous un objectif grand angle et un zoom si possible pour saisir des perspectives variées.

Quand visiter: La tour est ouverte toute l’année de 9h30 à 23h30 en été ou 22h30 en hiver (sauf Ven + Sam qui est à 23h). Le prix adulte pour entrer est de 17 € .

Galerie Lafayette Haussmann Rooftop

Cette petite surprise se cache sur le toit de ce grand magasin de luxe. La bonne nouvelle ? Vous n’avez rien à acheter pour entrer!

Traversez et dirigez-vous tout droit vers le plus haut étage puis promenez-vous pour admirer une vue magnifique sur les toits de Paris en direction de la Tour Eiffel.

Parce que le grand magasin est situé dans le quartier de l’Opéra, vous aurez droit à une vue sur le Palais Garnier qui ajoute un autre élément d’histoire à votre image.

Conseil Photo: Gardez un œil sur les beaux détails des bâtiments environnants à utiliser comme sujets de premier plan pour votre image. Parfois, il y aura des écoles d’art qui dessinent la vue du haut qui peuvent aussi servir de grands sujets! C’est un endroit unique pour prendre des photos de la Tour Eiffel tout en explorant une belle banlieue de Paris.

Quand visiter: Ce point de vue n’est accessible que pendant les heures d’ouverture des magasins, mais pendant les mois d’hiver, c’est jusqu’à 20h, ce qui signifie qu’il est possible de photographier le coucher du soleil d’ici.

Cathédrale de Notre-Dame

MISE À JOUR: Veuillez noter que Notre-Dame n’est plus ouverte au public et fait l’objet d’importantes réparations en raison d’un incendie survenu en avril 2019.

Un autre jour un autre rooftop mais cette fois, ce sont les incroyables tours de la Cathédrale de Notre Dame ! Aucune visite à Paris n’est complète sans voir les gargouilles et les détails fascinants de la cathédrale Notre-Dame, mais pour une vue sur la Tour Eiffel, c’est l’un des meilleurs endroits.

Depuis les tours de la cathédrale, vous avez une vue sur la Seine en descendant vers la Tour Eiffel et croyez-moi, c’est absolument magnifique.

Vous pouvez utiliser les gargouilles comme sujets de premier plan pour vos images ou zoomer pour capturer le Pont Saint-Michel et la rivière à la base de votre composition.

Conseil Photo: Arrivez tôt. Je veux dire avant l’heure d’ouverture pour vous assurer d’être au moins près de l’avant de la file d’attente. Il y a beaucoup de gens qui passent par les tours de Notre-Dame et avec seulement un nombre limité de personnes autorisées à monter à tout moment, il est essentiel d’arriver tôt sinon vous passerez plus de temps à faire la queue qu’à prendre des photos.

De plus, vous devrez être relativement rapide lorsque vous prenez des photos, car il s’agit plus d’une visite de rotation que d’une situation d’arrêt et de détente.

Quand visiter: Comme je l’ai dit plus haut, première chose le matin dès que les tours ouvrent à 10h. N’oubliez pas non plus de visiter l’intérieur par la suite! La file d’attente pour le toit commence du côté de la cathédrale, rue de Cliotre-Notre-Dame.

Pont d’Iéna + le Carrousel de la Tour Eiffel

Cet endroit est peut-être assez évident car il est en face de la Tour Eiffel, mais vous serez surpris de voir combien de personnes oublient de prendre une photo ici.

Le Pont d’Iéna agit comme une avenue prête à la photo menant à la tour, un excellent sujet pour des compositions plus larges si vous parvenez à vous faire une place.

Le trafic passe très régulièrement sur le pont, donc une fois la lumière tombée, vous pouvez prendre de grandes expositions longues ici avec le flou des phares et le mouvement du trafic.

Juste avant de traverser le Quai Branley jusqu’à la Tour Eiffel, à droite, vous serez probablement distrait par un carrousel très photogénique. C’est un excellent sujet à utiliser sur les photos de la Tour Eiffel, surtout une fois qu’elle commence à tourner!

Conseil Photo: Baissez votre vitesse d’obturation et capturez de longues expositions du trafic sur le pont avec la Tour Eiffel rougeoyante derrière. La même chose pour le carrousel, soyez gentil et bas et alignez la Tour Eiffel pour qu’elle sorte du carrousel.

Quand visiter: Le crépuscule est un beau moment pour photographier sur le pont et près du carrousel. Cela mènera à la soirée, ce qui en fera le moment idéal pour capturer des expositions plus longues.

Un dernier spot juste pour s’amuser the l’Avenue de Camoens

Prenez cette fashionista photographiée ici sur l’avenue de Camoens située juste à côté du Trocadéro.

Vous trouverez cette petite rue à seulement cinq minutes à pied de la place du Trocadéro, ce qui signifie que vous pouvez faire les deux endroits en un seul arrêt, chacun offrant une perspective différente.

Au bout de l’avenue de Camoens, il y a un beau lampadaire et l’endroit idéal pour prendre un portrait romantique avec la Tour Eiffel scintillante derrière.

Paris Secrets: Three Great Spots For A Photo With The Tour Eiffel

Want to take photos in paris with that monument in the background here are the best places in paris to get a more unique photo with the eiffel tower., 1. on the sides of the champs de mars.

Just stepping off the main avenues and into the wings of the Champ de Mars, and you’re instantly going to get a better portrait. There are often much fewer people on the sides to get into your photo, and there are some lovely little circular gardens tucked behind flower beds, paths and ponds. Take the time to explore the hidden nooks of the Champ de Mars (and there are plenty!) for the spot that talks to you. With so many lovely gardens and angles, your photos will seem like you’re in a field that happens to have the Eiffel Tower behind it, rather than in the bustling centre of the world’s most popular tourist spot.

Looking for more suggestions? In winter, play with the bare branches to frame the Tower behind you. In summer, why not bring a touch of colour – some balloons and a picnic blanket can add a touch of whimsy to your photos. All in all, stick to the sides, and you’ll get a much more unique photo with the Tour Eiffel.

2. Trocadero 

Some of the most famous iconic portraits of the Eiffel Tower have been taken by the Trocadero. There’s a good reason it’s so popular with photographers – just in front of the Palais de Chaillot, a large, flat platform is the perfect surface for dancing, jumping or more creative movements. The surface itself, in certain weather, can appear glossy and reflective. The sky is unhindered by other buildings, and the Eiffel Tower appears alone; a stunning backdrop to your posing play. So if you won’t take it from TripShooter, take it from the Beatles: Trocadero is a great pace to be photographed with Paris’s most famous icon.

3. On the Pont de Bir-Hakeim

Get off the metro at Bir-Hakeim station and you will see right in front of you, crossing over the Seine, the Pont de Bir-Hakeim. It’s a striking, urban kind of bridge, with the metro passing above you and a series of metal buttresses holding the whole thing up. What’s striking about it is, in fact, these buttresses, as they give the whole bridge a very long, straight perspective that lends itself to very unique photos. Walk to the centre of the bridge and – hey presto! – you’ll also have a backdrop looking up across the Seine and to the Eiffel Tower. This is a great place for fashion shoots, and because it’s a little less known than the other spots, you’re far more likely to not have to jostle for room.

I’ve seen the Eiffel Tower countless times (and taken just as many photos) but my jaw still drops every time I see it. I love how the iron lady can pop up when you least expect it: around a corner, between streets or on your metro ride. It offers the prettiest views when walking around Paris.

Despite my obsession with the Eiffel Tower, there are some Eiffel Tower photo spots that stand out from the rest. Continue reading for a full list, including both classic and more secret Eiffel Tower photo spots.

The Eiffel Tower is located in the 7th arrondissement, in southwestern Paris. The Eiffel Tower area has the river Seine on one side, and the big park Champ de Mars on the other side. Many of the Eiffel Tower photography locations included in this blog post are located in the 7th, 8th or 16th arrondissements. These are the areas surrounding the Eiffel Tower, and where you’ll get the best Eiffel Tower views.

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most popular photo spots in Paris, which means it can be crowded and challenging to photograph. Here are some tips on how to take good pictures of the Eiffel Tower:

• Different angles and perspectives: The Eiffel Tower can be photographed from countless angles and perspectives. Try shooting from directly below to capture its intricate metalwork or from afar to get the entire structure in the frame.
• Time of day: Lighting plays a key role in photography, and the Eiffel Tower is no exception. Sunrise and sunset provide the best natural lighting, creating a beautiful, soft glow on the tower.
• Avoid the crowds: Speaking of sunrise… The earlier you get to a place, the greater your chance of having it all to yourself. This will probably make the biggest difference to your Eiffel Tower photo. Try 6 am if you have the energy.

Enjoy the greatest view of the Eiffel Tower from Place du Trocadero. Even though this square is very popular among tourists, it’s still the best place for impressive Eiffel Tower photos.

Due to its popularity it can be hard to photograph the Eiffel Tower without other people disturbing your picture, but it’s not impossible. My best tips for a people-free picture is to go there early, preferably during sunrise. Besides being the least crowded time of the day, you also get to see the sun coming up from the perfect angle.

Place du Trocadero offers many photogenic angles. Here are my favorites:

• The main square
• The staircase leading down to Trocadéro Gardens
• The carousel down by Avenue des Nations Unies ( see it on Google Maps here! )

Closest metro station: Trocadéro (line 6 or 9)

2. Pont d’Iéna

Not far from Trocadéro you find Pont d’Iéna, the bridge crossing river Seine that connects the Trocadéro Gardens with the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars park. From Pont d’Iéna you have the Eiffel Tower right in front of you, and can get a soft-looking photo with the Eiffel Tower blurred in the background. For an even more dramatic look you should come here in the evening to see the tower sparkle.

Closest metro station: Trocadéro (line 6 or 9), Iéna (line 9) or Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel (RER C)

Just a short walk from Place du Trocadero lies Avenue de Cameons, a small but very Parisian street with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. This street has become Instagram-famous lately, and I understand why. The silence, the beautiful buildings, the balconies facing the Eiffel Tower and the stairs leading down to Boulevard Delessert.

Due to the Instagram trend, you can not count on being alone here (you can nowhere in Paris). When I was at Avenue de Cameons there were a few other couples taking photos, but it wasn’t crowded. If you want a better chance at being alone, go there early in the morning.

Rue Saint-Dominique offers glimpses of the Eiffel Tower throughout the whole street.

Rue Saint-Dominique is a very long street from where you, at certain parts, have a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. I suggest you go to the corner of Rue Saint-Dominique – Rue Surcouf, where the cute café Au Canon des Invalides is located. From here you have the Eiffel Tower at a perfect angle at the end of the street.

Rue Saint-Dominique is a busy street, with lots of restaurants, shops, traffic and people. Getting a perfectly balanced photo, with not too many cars or other people, can be hard. My best tip is to be patient and wait for the right moment.

Bonus tip: Don’t go here in the evening/during sunset! You risk getting a troublesome backlight that complicates your photo session.

Closest metro station: La Tour-Maubourg (line 8)

Square Rapp offers a secret view of the Eiffel Tower.

Square Rapp is a small dead-end street in the 7th arrondissement, just off Avenue Rapp. It does not look like much to the world when you pass it, but when you stand in the square and turn around, you get a magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower.

This is kind of a secret spot to view the Eiffel Tower from. It’s quiet and basically tourist-free. That being said, as this is a residential area of Paris, be respectful and don’t disturb the people living there.

Closest metro station: École Militaire (line 8) or Pont de l’Alma (RER C)

Champ de Mars is the big garden where the Eiffel Tower is located. From this garden you have an impressive view of the Eiffel Tower – almost as impressive as from Trocadéro or Pont d’Iéna.

La naissance de la tour Eiffel

C’est à l’occasion de l’Exposition Universelle de 1889 , date qui marquait le centenaire de la Révolution française qu'il a été décidé de construire une tour de 300m.

Les premiers coups de pelle sont donnés le 26 janvier 1887 . Le 31 mars 1889, la Tour achevée en un temps record - 2 ans, 2 mois et 5 jours - s’impose comme une véritable prouesse technique .

Les chiffres-clés

Les grandes dates, l'invention de la tour eiffel.

Le projet d'une tour de 300 mètres est né à l'occasion de la préparation de l'Exposition universelle de 1889 .

L'objet du concours lancé lors de l'exposition est d’« étudier la possibilité d’élever sur le Champ-de-Mars une tour de fer, à base carrée, de 125 mètres de côté et de 300 mètres de hauteur ». Choisi parmi 107 projets, c’est celui de Gustave Eiffel, entrepreneur, Maurice Koechlin et Emile Nouguier, ingénieurs et Stephen Sauvestre, architecte qui est retenu.

Les deux principaux ingénieurs de l'entreprise Eiffel, Émile Nouguier et Maurice Koechlin , ont l'idée en juin 1884 d'une tour très haute, conçue comme un grand pylône formé de quatre poutres en treillis écartées à la base et se rejoignant au sommet , liées entre elles par des poutres métalliques disposées à intervalles réguliers.

C'est une extrapolation hardie à la hauteur de 300 mètres - soit l'équivalent du chiffre symbolique de 1000 pieds - du principe des piles de ponts que l'entreprise maîtrise alors parfaitement. Eiffel prend le 18 septembre 1884 un brevet "pour une disposition nouvelle permettant de construire des piles et des pylônes métalliques d'une hauteur pouvant dépasser 300 mètres".

Pour rendre le projet plus acceptable par l'opinion publique, Nouguier et Koechlin demandent à l'architecte Stephen Sauvestre de mettre en forme le projet.

Sauvestre habille les pieds de socles en maçonnerie, relie les quatre montants et le premier étage par des arcs monumentaux , place de grandes salles vitrées aux étages, dessine un sommet en forme de bulbe , agrémente l'ensemble de divers ornements . Le projet sera finalement simplifié, mais certains éléments comme les grandes arches de la base seront maintenus, contribuant à lui donner son aspect si caractéristique.

La courbure des montants est mathématiquement déterminée pour offrir la meilleure résistance possible à l'effet du vent . Comme l'explique Eiffel : "Tout l'effort tranchant dû au vent passe ainsi dans l'intérieur des montants d'arête. Les tangentes aux montants menées en des points situés à la même hauteur viennent toujours se rencontrer au point de passage de la résultante des actions que le vent exerce sur la partie de la pile au-dessus des deux points considérés. Les montants avant de se réunir à ce sommet si élevé, semblent jaillir du sol, et s'être en quelque sorte moulés sous l'action du vent".

Le montage des piles commence le 1er juillet 1887 pour s'achever vingt-et-un mois plus tard .

Tous les éléments sont préparés à l'usine de Levallois-Perret à côté de Paris, siège de l'entreprise Eiffel. Chacune des 18 000 pièces de la Tour est dessinée et calculée avant d'être tracée au dixième de millimètre et assemblée par éléments de cinq mètres environ. Sur le site, entre 150 et 300 ouvriers , encadrés par une équipe de vétérans des grands viaducs métalliques, s'occupent du montage de ce gigantesque meccano.

Quatre hommes pour poser un rivet

Ce mode de construction est bien rodé à l'époque de la construction de la Tour. Les assemblages sont d'abord réalisés sur place par des boulons provisoires , remplacés au fur et à mesure par des rivets posés à chaud. En se refroidissant, ils se contractent, ce qui assure le serrage des pièces les unes avec les autres. Il faut une équipe de q uatre hommes pour poser un rivet : un pour le chauffer, un pour le tenir en place, un pour former la tête, un dernier pour achever l'écrasement à coups de masse. Un tiers seulement des 2 500 000 rivets que comprend la Tour ont été directement posés sur le site.

Les piles reposent sur des fondations en béton installées à quelques mètres sous le niveau du sol sur une couche de gravier compact. Chaque arête métallique dispose de son propre massif, lié aux autres par des murs, sur lequel elle exerce une pression de 3 à 4 kilos par centimètre carré .

Côté Seine, on a employé des caissons métalliques étanches, où l'injection d'air comprimé permettait aux ouvriers de travailler sous le niveau de l'eau.

La Tour est montée à l'aide d'échafaudages en bois et de petites grues à vapeur fixées sur la Tour elle-même.

Le montage du premier étage est réalisé à l'aide de douze échafaudages provisoires en bois de 30 mètres de hauteur, puis de quatre grands échafaudages de 45 mètres.

Des "boîtes à sable" et des vérins hydrauliques - remplacés après usage par des cales fixes - permettent de régler la position de la charpente métallique au millimètre près.

La jonction des grandes poutres du premier est ainsi réalisée le 7 décembre 1887 . Les pièces sont hissées par des grues à vapeur qui grimpent en même temps que la Tour, en utilisant les glissières prévues pour les ascenseurs.

mois pour construire les fondations

Il n'a fallu que cinq mois pour construire les fondations et vingt et un mois pour réaliser le montage de la partie métallique de la Tour.

C'est une vitesse record si l'on songe aux moyens rudimentaires de l'époque. Le montage de la Tour est une merveille de précision , comme s'accordent à le reconnaître tous les chroniqueurs de l'époque. Commencé en janvier 1887, le chantier s'achève le 31 mars 1889 . Gustave Eiffel est décoré de la Légion d'Honneur sur l'étroite plate-forme du sommet.

"Une épaisse fumée de goudron et de houille prenait à la gorge , tandis qu'un bruit de ferraille rugissant sous le marteau nous assourdissait . On boulonnait encore par là ; des ouvriers, perchés sur une assise de quelques centimètres, frappaient à tour de rôle de leur massue en fer sur les boulons (en réalité les rivets) ; on eût dit des forgerons tranquillement occupés à rythmer des mesures sur une enclume, dans quelque forge de village ; seulement ceux-ci ne tapaient point de haut en bas, verticalement, mais horizontalement, et comme à chaque coup des étincelles partaient en gerbes , ces hommes noirs, grandis par la perspective du plein ciel, avaient l'air de faucher des éclairs dans les nuées ."

Débats et polémiques à l'époque de la construction

Avant même la fin de sa construction, la Tour était déjà au cœur des débats. Affublée de critiques par les grands noms du monde des lettres et des arts, la Tour a su s’imposer et rencontrer le succès qu’elle méritait.

Après divers pamphlets ou articles publiés tout au long de l'année 1886, les travaux avaient à peine commencé que paraît, le 14 février 1887, la protestation des Artistes .

Publiée dans le journal Le Temps, cette "Protestation contre la Tour de M. Eiffel" est adressée à M. Alphand, directeur des travaux de l'Exposition. Elle est signée de quelques grands noms du monde des lettres et des arts : Charles Gounod, Guy de Maupassant, Alexandre Dumas fils , François Coppée, Leconte de Lisle, Sully Prudhomme, William Bouguereau, Ernest Meissonier, Victorien Sardou, Charles Garnier et d'autres que la postérité a moins favorisés.

D'autres pamphlétaires renchérissent sur cette violente diatribe , et les injures fusent : "ce lampadaire véritablement tragique" (Léon Bloy) ; "ce squelette de beffroi"(Paul Verlaine) ; "ce mât de fer aux durs agrès, inachevé, confus, difforme" (François Coppée) ; "cette haute et maigre pyramide d'échelles de fer, squelette disgracieux et géant, dont la base semble faite pour porter un formidable monument de Cyclopes, et qui avorte en un ridicule et mince profil de cheminée d'usine" (Maupassant) ; "un tuyau d'usine en construction, une carcasse qui attend d'être remplie par des pierres de taille ou des briques, ce grillage infundibuliforme, ce suppositoire criblé de trous" (Joris-Karl Huysmans).

Les polémiques s'éteindront d'elles-mêmes à l'achèvement de la Tour, devant la présence incontestable de l'œuvre achevée et face à l'immense succès populaire qu'elle rencontre. Elle reçoit deux millions de visiteurs pendant l'Exposition de 1889.

"Nous venons, écrivains, peintres, sculpteurs, architectes, amateurs passionnés de la beauté jusqu'ici intacte de Paris , protester de toutes nos forces, de toute notre indignation, au nom du goût français méconnu, au nom de l'art et de l'histoire français menacés, contre l'érection, en plein cœur de notre capitale, de l'inutile et monstrueuse tour Eiffel , que la malignité publique, souvent empreinte de bon sens et d'esprit de justice, a déjà baptisée du nom de tour de Babel. (...)

La ville de Paris va-t-elle donc s'associer plus longtemps aux baroques, aux mercantiles imaginations d'un constructeur de machines, pour s'enlaidir irréparablement et se déshonorer ? (...). Il suffit d'ailleurs, pour se rendre compte de ce que nous avançons, de se figurer un instant une tour vertigineusement ridicule, dominant Paris, ainsi qu'une noire et gigantesque cheminée d'usine, écrasant de sa masse barbare (...) tous nos monuments humiliés, toutes nos architectures rapetissées, qui disparaîtront dans ce rêve stupéfiant.

Et, pendant vingt ans, nous verrons s'allonger sur la ville entière, frémissante encore du génie de tant de siècles, nous verrons s'allonger comme une tache d'encre l'ombre odieuse de l'odieuse colonne de tôle boulonnée".

La réponse de Gustave Eiffel

Eiffel répond à la protestation des artistes dans une interview accordée au Temps le 14 février 1887 qui résume bien sa doctrine artistique :

"Je crois, pour ma part, que la Tour aura sa beauté propre . Parce que nous sommes des ingénieurs, croit-on donc que la beauté ne nous préoccupe pas dans nos constructions et qu'en même temps que nous faisons solide et durable, nous ne nous efforçons pas de faire élégant ? Est-ce que les véritables conditions de la force ne sont pas toujours conformes aux conditions secrètes de l'harmonie ? (...) Or de quelle condition ai-je eu, avant tout, à tenir compte dans la Tour ? De la résistance au vent.

Eh bien ! Je prétends que les courbes des quatre arêtes du monument, tel que le calcul les a fournies (...) donneront une grande impression de force et de beauté ; car elles traduiront aux yeux la hardiesse de la conception dans son ensemble, de même que les nombreux vides ménagés dans les éléments mêmes de la construction accuseront fortement le constant souci de ne pas livrer inutilement aux violences des ouragans des surfaces dangereuses pour la stabilité de l'édifice. Il y a, du reste, dans le colossal une attraction, un charme propre, auxquelles les théories d'art ordinaires ne sont guère applicables" .

La place du Trocadéro

L' esplanade du Trocadéro est largement réputée pour être un des meilleurs spots pour prendre en photo la tour Eiffel. Il faut dire que l'immense terrasse offre un point de vue complètement dégagé sur le monument, avec les magnifiques jardins du Trocadéro et la fontaine de Varsovie pour décor.

À 210 mètres de hauteur, vous obtiendrez des images uniques de la tour Eiffel .

La basilique du Sacré-cœur

Pour un shooting photo avec la tour Eiffel en décor , vous pouvez également vous rendre sur la butte Montmartre, dans le 18e arrondissement. Là, la basilique du Sacré-cœur représente un spot idéal pour faire de belles photos avec la Dame de Fer en fond. 

Et pour des photos encore plus qualitatives, vous pouvez grimper sur le dôme du monument historique en empruntant l'escalier de 300 marches. Le jeu en vaut la chandelle, car le décor de carte postale vous plonge dans une ambiance magique.

Le Mont Valérien

Si vous vous éloignez un peu de Paris, derrière le Bois de Boulogne, le Mont Valérien fait partie des meilleurs spots pour des paysages époustouflants avec vue sur la tour Eiffel. À 161 mètres d'altitude, le Mont-Valérien était avant tout un lieu de culte, avant d'être le lieu principal d'exécution des résistants lors de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La taille des chambres varie selon leur capacité d’accueil. Les chambres single mesurent en moyenne 13 m², les chambres doubles 16m² et les chambres triples 21m².

Notre boutique hôtel à Paris propose un accès PMR desservant tout le rez-de-chaussée ainsi que 2 chambres entièrement équipées.

En dehors des lits bébés, l’hôtel ne propose pas de lits supplémentaires mais dispose de plusieurs chambres triples prévues à cet effet, offrant ainsi un confort optimal à chaque visiteur.

L'hôtel Bleu de Grenelle, boutique hôtel parisien, dispose de quelques chambres adaptées à l’accueil de nos amis les animaux domestiques traditionnels (nous n’avons pas de vivariums ou delphinariums…).

Un coût supplémentaire de 10€ par nuit est à prévoir pour un nettoyage adapté de la chambre. Merci de simplement préciser la participation de votre animal au voyage lors de la réservation afin de confirmer la disponibilité de ces chambres.

Les chambres sont à la vente petit-déjeuner inclus ou exclu, selon l’offre choisie. Il suffit de vous référer au descriptif de cette offre.

A noter que s’il n’est pas prévu au moment de la réservation il peut être ajouté en extra au dernier moment.

La taxe de séjour est un impôt français qui peut être demandé par les communes à vocation touristique auprès de leurs vacanciers. Cette taxe a pour but d'aider les conseils municipaux à financer leurs dépenses liées à la fréquentation touristique et à la protection des espaces naturels à destination des vacanciers.

La taxe de séjour au réel est payée par le vacancier à l’hôtel, selon le nombre de nuitées de son séjour et selon la catégorie de l'hébergement. Le montant de l'ensemble des taxes de séjour collectées par les hôteliers, propriétaires et logeurs, est ensuite reversé à la commune à la fin de la période dite de perception.

Des steamers vont seront prêtés avec plaisir sur simple demande auprès de la réception.

L’hôtel propose un service de blanchisserie externe avec une formule classique (dépôt avant midi et récupération le lendemain) et une formule express (dépôt avant midi récupération à partir de 20h le jour-J)

Le boutique hôtel représente dans son sens actuel tout établissement hôtelier de taille petite à moyenne et dont l’univers (accueil, concept, décoration) lui est propre et sur-mesure, ayant pour vocation de se démarquer des grandes chaînes hôtelières standardisées.

Paris : un homme placé en détention pour le viol d’un touriste américain au pied de la tour Eiffel

Le suspect a été confondu grâce à une photo prise par un groupe d’adolescentes très peu de temps après les faits, qui remontent à juillet l’été 2022, à Paris (VIIe). Il a été incarcéré ce week-end.

Si son violeur présumé est aujourd’hui derrière les barreaux, ce touriste américain de 23 ans le doit en partie à des adolescentes. En prenant une photo du suspect, ce groupe de jeunes femmes a permis d’élucider la très violente agression dont a été victime un jeune homme au pied de la tour Eiffel (Paris VIIe) à l’été 2022. Ce week-end, le mis en cause, âgé de 29 ans, a été placé en détention provisoire, nous a précisé ce mardi matin une source judiciaire.

L’affaire remonte au mois de juillet 2022. Un soir, un enseignant américain en vacances à Paris est tranquillement en train de manger un morceau en admirant la tour Eiffel, quand il est agrippé par quelqu’un. Il se trouve alors au niveau du Champ-de-Mars . Le jeune homme est traîné derrière un buisson. Il a beau se débattre, son agresseur est plus costaud. Il le contraint à une fellation et tente ensuite d’aller encore plus loin. La victime parvient à s’extirper au prix d’une lutte. Ses vêtements sont déchirés, il est griffé sur une partie du corps.

Alors qu’il s’éloigne, il comprend que son violeur le suit. L’Américain s’engouffre dans une station de métro. L’autre est toujours un peu derrière lui. La victime sollicite alors une bande d’adolescentes qui se trouve là. L’une d’entre elles a la présence d’esprit de prendre en photo l’agresseur, qui prend aussitôt la fuite.

Reconnu sur une photo du traitement des antécédents judiciaires

Alors qu’il a regagné son hôtel sur la rive droite, le touriste se confie sur le calvaire qu’il vient de vivre. Le gérant appelle aussitôt la police. Un équipage vient recueillir la plainte. Des examens sont pratiqués. Un médecin relève notamment des griffures dans le cou.

Du côté de l’identité judiciaire, les techniciens relèvent en particulier une trace de sperme sur la cuisse de la victime. Un élément décisif pour l’avancée de l’enquête. Mais pas tout de suite. Bien sûr, les policiers vérifient que cette trace génétique n’est pas répertoriée au fichier des délinquants sexuels ( FNAEG ). Le résultat est négatif. Le violeur n’est pas connu.

L’enquête, confiée par le parquet de Paris au troisième district de police judiciaire, est alors au point mort. Impossible, malgré une étude approfondie des images de vidéosurveillance, de retrouver la scène de l’agression. L’affaire est finalement bouclée grâce à la fameuse photo prise par l’adolescente. Les enquêteurs vont la comparer à celles du traitement des antécédents judiciaires, un fichier beaucoup plus vaste où l’identité de toutes les personnes impliquées dans une affaire, quelle qu’elle soit, est enregistrée. Un travail fastidieux mais qui va porter ses fruits.

Les fonctionnaires tombent sur la photo d’un certain Mohamed Z, connu uniquement pour un usage de faux document administratif. Et le cliché semble correspondre. Ce ressortissant algérien, sans domicile fixe, est interpellé la semaine dernière alors qu’il se présente à un entretien professionnel. Il porte sur lui des papiers d’identité belge. Ce sont des faux. Une procédure est du reste ouverte également pour ce délit. Placé en garde à vue, le suspect nie les faits. Mais il aurait été finalement confondu par la comparaison de son ADN inconnu à celui retrouvé sur un vêtement de la victime. Il a également été reconnu par les adolescentes.

La délinquance en très forte baisse dans le secteur à l’approche des JO

Les affaires de viols et d’agressions sexuelles au pied de la tour Eiffel surviennent régulièrement depuis plusieurs années. En octobre 2023, une policière anglaise avait été attaquée sur le Champ-de-Mars alors qu’elle urinait derrière un buisson. Un habitant de Châtenay-Malabry (Hauts-de-Seine) avait été mis en examen et écroué pour ce viol. Plus récemment, en avril, un homme avait été mis en examen pour le viol collectif d’une touriste mexicaine , toujours au même endroit.

À l’approche des Jeux olympiques , le préfet de police a mobilisé de nombreux effectifs supplémentaires pour sécuriser ce lieu , qui sera particulièrement fréquenté pendant la compétition. Résultat : au premier trimestre 2024, sur le secteur Champ-de-Mars, Trocadéro, tour Eiffel, les atteintes aux personnes (viols, agressions, etc.) ont baissé de 58 % par rapport au premier trimestre 2023, passant de 50 à 21 faits enregistrés par la police. Pour les atteintes aux biens, la baisse est de 18 % sur la même période (passant de 208 faits à 170).

Une forte baisse de la délinquance liée au renfort ponctuel de fonctionnaires de l’ordre public et de la circulation, de CRS ou de gendarmes. Et une fois que les JO seront terminés ? « C’est tout le problème, soupire un policier. Il y a des patrouilles chaque jour dans ce secteur mais, tant qu’on ne l’aménagera pas correctement, cela posera problème. Commençons déjà par mettre de l’éclairage la nuit et des toilettes. » Des travaux en ce sens sont toujours « à l’étude ».
