I HAVE A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. MY QUESTION IS WHAT DOES IT DO WHEN THE GEARS SHIFT BY THEMSELVES, I ACCELERATE AND IT REVVS UP TO 3 THOUSAND RPM BUT ONLY GOES UP TO 40 KM PER HOUR. THE SCANNER SHOWS ERROR P0760. PLEASE HELP.

So my question is why has there not been s9me recall on the dodge journey 2010 electrical issues. I've noticed I'm not the only one having the problem of the dodge just shutting down around 10 to 15 min into driving than doesn't start back up for a good hr if not longer just to run for a very short period again. This seems to be a big pro lem for alot of owners of this vehicle type. It's dangerous for the people in the cab including drivers around . With it just shutting off the way it does many things cam end up happening. I am a owner for a yr and I can say I've driven mabey 120 miles max and that's mainly when I drove it home the first time which I bought 112 miles away from home ended up taking me 12 hr to finally get to my door. It was a nightmare.

2010 Dodge Journey review: Our expert's take

The Dodge Journey is the epitome of the term “mixed bag.” It does some things pretty well and some not so well. I found the Journey to be weakest in the city — running short errands, ferrying one person or driving narrow streets. By comparison, it’s at its best making grocery runs and cruising on the highway. But that’s not to say it’s a slam-dunk winner in either role.

City & Highway Acceleration If you’re considering buying this car, the most important thing you need to do is take it on a highway and pass someone. The Journey isn’t great at accelerating at any speed, but going from 40 to 60 mph really took more time than I thought it should, including waiting for the engine to rev up and the transmission to kick down.

I tested the top-of-the-line R/T with a 235-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6, a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Dodge also sells a base Journey with a 173-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder that’s paired with a four-speed automatic.

You can get the Journey with either front- or all-wheel drive, and it’s possible that the approximately 200 pounds of extra weight that all-wheel-drive models carry contributed to the lackluster acceleration.

The Journey moved decently in the city. It took off from stoplights well for something this big, but that was the lone bright spot in terms of acceleration. The city was also where the Journey’s mixed bag of attributes really became evident.

Visibility & Ride Don’t ask me where the Journey’s front bumper is — I still don’t know. And that’s after driving it for a week. In other words, visibility out the front wasn’t very good. I was always misjudging how far into a parking space I was.

The Journey also feels bigger than it is. No matter where I drove, it felt like the Journey was as wide as whatever lane I was in. In reality, it’s smaller than the Audi Q7 I tested recently, though it feels much bigger. (And before you say, “The Journey doesn’t compete with the Q7!” I’m merely pointing out the difference in how the cars feel.)

The Journey’s ride is also mixed. Cruising on the highway, it’s comfortable. There’s some floaty sensation when going over hills and the like, but overall I liked it. Tooling around town, however — especially in Chicago, where the roads stink and the traffic is stop-and-go — the Journey feels like an older SUV. There’s a lot of jiggle — almost like the chassis was shuddering, but not severely — and a lot more of that floaty sensation when traveling over rough spots. I wasn’t a fan.

Utility & Interior Our Journey came with an optional third-row seat that must have been designed for small children, because it’s tiny. Fold the seat, though, and you’re treated to a very large cargo area. I was almost able to fit a large ironing board in back without folding the second row. I’ve also used the Journey for ski trips and tested it as a Weekend Athlete vehicle , and it’s fairly handy.

The Journey’s interior makes it one of a couple cars I’ve driven lately that I actually prefer to drive at night. The version we tested came with an option package that included LEDs for the driver and front passenger, but Dodge really nailed the lighting for the buttons and controls — things not touched by the LEDs. It’s not too bright and distracting, but it’s also not so dark you can’t see what you need to see. It’s very well done.

The steering wheel is the right size, and the leather you can get it wrapped in feels good. As you spend most your driving time with your hands on the wheel (hopefully), a little effort in this area goes a long way.

Second-row room is … OK. Bear in mind, I climbed in back with the driver’s seat set for me, and I’m 6-foot-1. Two taller people would find it tiresome to share that space on a long drive, but shorter folks probably wouldn’t be bothered. Also, the second-row seat is comfortably wide, so as long as you’re not tall, the Journey’s backseat would be fine on long highway trips.

Outright dislikes Yes, there were some things I wasn’t over the moon about. The good news for people considering the Journey is that almost all those problems are solvable. Basically, whether I was folding the seats, changing the radio station or inputting a destination in the navigation system, nothing worked as I expected it to. Everything required at least two steps, one of which made no sense at all, and the controls for the radio and navigation system felt cheap and responded sluggishly.

These kinds of things are usually a bigger deal for auto critics than auto owners, because if it’s your car, you learn the steps, get used to them and it all becomes second nature. But I’ve driven cars more advanced than the Journey that took only 30 minutes to figure out. This car took my entire week with it to figure out, and I never got used to the controls’ hesitation. It could be better.

Also, whoever designed the navigation readout made a mistake, because it’s impossible to read street names; they’re all lettered in black and edged in white. I gave up even trying to read them two days into my test and was much happier.

Mileage, Safety, Reliability, Compare The 2010 Dodge Journey is an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick. It earned scores of “Good,” the highest rating, in frontal-offset, side-impact, roof-strength and rear-impact tests. Check out the Standard Equipment & Specs page for a full list of safety features.

According to Consumer Reports, though, the Journey’s predicted reliability is much worse than average. The Journey is dragged down by poor ratings in the squeaks and rattles and power equipment categories.

The V-6 Journey’s EPA-estimated mileage is 15/23 mpg city/highway with all-wheel drive, but the crossover is rated as high as 19/25 mpg with front-wheel drive and a four-cylinder.

The Journey was introduced for the 2009 model year, and changes for 2010 are more incremental than major, but judge for yourself here .

Journey in the Market The Journey is not my favorite three-row crossover, but what really hurts it is that it is a three-row crossover. The fact is, if you want to haul that many people and cargo, a minivan is a superior vehicle. I’ve tested the Chrysler Town & Country, and it was easier to drive than the Journey. It’s more expensive than the Journey, sure, but if you pick the Town & Country’s sibling, the Dodge Grand Caravan, you’re looking at roughly the same price for a more practical vehicle.

Now, in the real world, I know once people decide on a crossover they won’t cross-shop it with a minivan. Fine.

In the field of three-row crossovers, the Journey doesn’t offer anything that makes it an outright winner. Yes, the highway ride is good, and the ergonomic things that annoyed me would fade the longer I drove it. Seating room is OK, too, if you’re not a giant. So maybe if I lived in the suburbs, had a small family and spent most of my time cruising (but not passing) on highways, I’d like it more. Even at that, though, I’m still not sold on it. The fact is, sooner or later, I’d find myself stuck in a city or stuck trying to pass someone at speed, and I wouldn’t be happy.

If I were shopping for this type of car I’d also give a lot of weight to predicted reliability, so the Journey’s poor performance in this category would weigh heavily, even though the things that drag it down aren’t transmissions or engines. Its safety ratings are excellent, but, sorry, I just don’t weigh that as heavily as other factors. That’s just me, though.

In the end, I’d recommend giving the Journey a test drive, but I’m betting it will turn out to be the car that sets the baseline for you. Anything I would actually buy would have to perform better than the Journey did.

It is getting too expensive to fix,

Problems with the horn going off on its own. It is not a recall but it is a poor design. Experiencing electrical problems that also not a recall but are potentially dangerous if left unattended. Expensive to fix. I love my journey but I may have to replace due to expensive repairs. I've already put over5k in it in the last 2 years.

The 2010 Dodge Journey offers minivan conveniences without the minivan stigma and pricing, but it's not refined or capable enough to earn our recommendation.

Cost to Drive Cost to drive estimates for the 2010 Dodge Journey SE 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 4A) and comparison vehicles are based on 15,000 miles per year (with a mix of 55% city and 45% highway driving) and energy estimates of $3.50 per gallon for regular unleaded in North Dakota.

Vehicle overview.

The 2010 Dodge Journey crossover SUV is effectively a replacement for Chrysler's now defunct short-wheelbase minivans -- a family-friendly vehicle that's a bit more maneuverable than the regular Grand Caravan. The Journey does indeed fill this void in functional terms, offering lots of room for larger families and a number of pleasant convenience and technology features. The question is whether buyers will find its interior quality and driving dynamics sufficient relative to the ever-improving competition. After all, a journey is hardly worth taking if you're not going to enjoy the trip.

The Journey's strength is clearly its cabin functionality, where the influence of Chrysler's minivans is unmistakable. Its optional third-row seat sets it apart from two-row crossover SUVs, providing enough room for kids. The Journey is also loaded with clever, well-conceived minivan-style conveniences, from the Flip 'n Stow storage compartment under the front passenger seat to the Chill Zone glovebox beverage cooler. Other neat options include MyGIG, Chrysler's hard-drive-based navigation and entertainment system, and a rear-seat entertainment system with a 9-inch screen. If what you're after is a versatile interior at a reasonable price, the Journey certainly delivers.

Speaking of pricing, that's another of the Journey's strengths, as the base SE model costs about the same as a bare-bones five-seat family sedan. How does Dodge do it? Simple: It skimps on interior quality and performance. The Journey's cabin materials are no nicer than those of the dismal Dodge Caliber economy car, on which the Journey is based. As for performance, the base four-cylinder engine is slow and noisy, and the V6-powered SXT and R/T models aren't particularly swift either. Moreover, all Journeys feature ponderous handling and steering that instills little confidence, even by the workaday standards of this segment.

Overall, the 2010 Dodge Journey has a split personality. On the one hand, it has interior versatility and technology to spare; on the other hand, it's built like a cheap runabout and performs like one, too. Among competing crossovers, Toyota's RAV4 offers a third-row seat along with better performance, and the surprisingly enjoyable Kia Rondo is another model to consider. The larger, three-row Ford Flex starts at about the same price as a loaded Journey, and is superior in every way. And if you don't need the Journey's optional third row, virtually any two-row crossover SUV on the market will be more pleasant to drive and own. Finally, our consumer reviews show a record of poor reliability in a number of areas. We do not recommend the Journey.

Performance & mpg

The base-model Journey SE comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. It drives the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Uplevel SXT and R/T trim levels employ a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 235 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. It's matched to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. On these trim levels, buyers have a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In our testing, an all-wheel-drive R/T model went from zero to 60 mph in an unremarkable 9.2 seconds -- just as slow as competing four-cylinder models.

The EPA gives the four-cylinder Journey ratings of 19 mpg city/25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. The front-drive V6 drops to 16/24/19, and adding AWD yields a 15/23/18 rating. None of the above is very good relative to the competition.

Every 2010 Journey includes antilock disc brakes, traction control, rollover-sensing stability control, active front head restraints, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags for all three rows. A rearview camera is optional, as are handy built-in second-row child booster seats, a first in this segment. In brake testing, a Journey R/T came to a stop in a longish 132 feet.

In crash tests, the Journey received perfect ratings in all categories. The government awarded it five starts in both front and side impacts, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Journey its highest "Good" rating for both frontal-offset and side impacts.

Despite its plebeian Caliber roots, the 2010 Dodge Journey is a well-fed specimen, with even the base SE model tipping the scales at a hefty 3,800 pounds. The four-cylinder engine is simply overmatched here -- there's not nearly enough power to merge confidently on the highway, and it sounds as strained as it feels. The V6 in the SXT and R/T models is more appropriate, returning decent acceleration and passing power, but it's still well behind the standard-setting V6 in the RAV4.

On the open road, the Journey stays quiet, but its steering is terribly numb and vague. Handling is also poor, even in the ostensibly sporty R/T model. Overall, few crossovers are as unpleasant to drive as this Dodge.

Inside, the 2010 Dodge Journey is a spacious, versatile family hauler. Families with one or two children should find more than enough room in the first two rows, and the optional 50/50-split third-row seat can serve as a sort of emergency backup for kids.The second-row seats slide fore and aft, and access to the third-row seats is a breeze. All-around comfort is reduced somewhat due to the hard and flat seats, however, and the low placement of the audio controls makes them awkward to reach for the driver -- especially with the optional touchscreen-controlled stereo. Materials quality and fit and finish are notably subpar.

In terms of utility, there's obvious influence from Chrysler's minivans, as the Journey's interior is awash in cupholders, lidded storage bins and cubbyholes, including tubs beneath the second-row floor and an ingenious compartment beneath the front passenger seat. Maximum cargo capacity is 68 cubic feet, a bit less than what's available in some competing models.

2010 Dodge Journey models

A midsize crossover SUV, the 2010 Dodge Journey comes in SE, SXT and R/T trim levels. All models come standard with two-row seating for five; with the optional 50/50-split-folding third-row bench (SXT and R/T only), capacity increases to seven.

The base SE comes with 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, air-conditioning, full power accessories and a six-speaker stereo with a six-disc CD/MP3 changer. The midgrade SXT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlamps, heated side mirrors, a trip computer, enhanced interior storage, stain-resistant cloth upholstery, a six-way power driver seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 115-volt power outlet and satellite radio. The top-drawer R/T features 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio controls.

Dodge bundles most of the Journey's optional features into packages, and many of the upper trim levels' features are available as options for the lower trims. Other major options, depending on the trim level, include a Chrome Appearance package, sport-tuned suspension and steering, Bluetooth, an iPod adapter, tri-zone climate control, a rear-seat entertainment system and a hard-drive-based navigation and audio system with a back-up camera.

Del borne positivo sale un conductor grueso que se conecta a la salida del generador, por este conductor circulará la corriente de carga de la batería producida por el generador. Esta corriente en los generadores modernos puede estar en el orden de 100 amperios.

2. Sistema de Encendido. 

Es el sistema necesario e independiente capaz de producir el encendido de la mezcla de combustible y aire dentro del cilindro en los motores de gasolina o LPG, conocidos también como motores de encendido por chispa, ya que en el motor diesel la propia naturaleza de la formación de la mezcla produce su auto-encendido.

3. Sistema de Arranque.
