Papikondalu is also known as Papi hills which are situated in the holy river Godavari in Andhra Pradesh. As everyone knows that the holy river Godavari was born in Nasik (Gomukh, Maharastra), there it is passing through so many states. finally, it is ending up in Andhra Pradesh. Before entering Andhra Pradesh we can see 3 mountains that look like giants trying to stop the Godavari. Nature lovers really like this place

According to our forefather's sayings, the name Papikondalu is the word taken from a Telugu word called (Papidikondlu),

because when we see the view of this holy river Godavari from the top of this Papikondlu it looks like a hairline (Thala lo Papidi)of a woman.

but according to our history (Puranam) when the great Saptharuhees bought Pathala Ganga down, the king of an evil kingdom named (Papi) stopped the flow of Ganga then once again the Saptharushees requested the king "Papi" to give the way then he gave small space to continue the flow of water that's what the reason Papikondalu are so close to each other.

Papikokndalu is a famous tourist attraction in Andhra Pradesh that is going to "extinct" shortly, due to a well-known dam namely the "Polvaram project "which is under construction. after the construction of the dam, there are about 250 small villages that will be drowned.

still, there are some villages which have no electricity, roads, water or any other communication. such places are also covered in Papi Kondalu tour,

Tour Schedule : Starts everyday at 7 am. From rajahmundry. Rajahmundry to Purushothapatnam boat point by road ( 1 hour ). Polavaram project site, Gandipochamma Temple, Papikondalu, Perantapalli temple (visiting places ) Breakfast & Veg- lunch will be provided in the boat. A/C boat to non A/C boat shifting at Perantapalli Temple at 3 pm. Perantapalli to Pochavaram in non a/c boat (1 hour ). Pochavaram to Bhadrachalam temple 2 hours by road on our vehicles. Finally reaching Bhadrachalam temple at 7 pm. (Bhadrachalam temple darshan closing Time at 9.00pm )

• in case of power cut/failure only Fans and Lights on Inverter/Generator Provided.
• Life Jackets during boating will be provided by us and should be worn all the time
• Follow COVID guidelines, tourists should wear masks

DAY 1 Tour Schedule

• 7:30 AM Pick up from Railway Station. Road journey to Polavaram/ Purushothapatnam revu.
• 9.00 AM Check in to Boat. Breakfast in the Boat, then journey starts on holy river Godavari.
• 10.00 AM Reach GandiPochamma Temple situated on bank of River Godavari, darshan
• 11.00 PM Boat journey. via Devipatnam. POLICE CHECK UP
• 1.00 PM Vegetarian lunch in the Boat while on journey.
• 2.00 PM Reach Papikondalu which are three in number situated like a wall in the middle of River godavari separating districts EAST, WEST and KHAMMAM. Journey in between Papikondalu is a memorable experience, enjoy the scenic beauty.
• 3.00 PM Reaches Perantapalli Tribal Village. Visit Ramakrishna muni vatika which was established by Late Poojya Swamiji Balananda Saraswathi during 1927. Darshan of Swayambu Lingakara Sri Veereswa Swamy and local sight seeing then journey towards Koruturu(sirivaka)Camp site
• 4.30 PM Reaches Papikondalu resorts situated on the bank of River godavari at Kortuturu Tribal Village of west godavari district. Check out Boat, evening snacks and free time at Camp site. Night Non Veg. Dinner and accommodation in papikondalu resorts with camp fire.

DAY 2 Tour Schedule

• Early Morning trekking in forest,. Bathing in water canal situated in between Papikondalu, is a memorable experience.
• 9.00 AM Breakfast will be provided at camping site. Free time for local sight seeing.
• 2.00 PM Veg (or)Non-Veg lunch & 3.00pm Boat Pickup Return journey by Boat
• 6.30 PM Reaches Pattiseema revu / Polavaram revu / Purushothapatnam revu
• 7.00 PM to 8.30 PM By road journey to Rajamahendravaram.
• If You go to Bhadrachalam Droping . you will pay per head 150/extra charges.
• 1. Pickup From Koruturu & Move to Pochavaram In Non A/C by Boat.(2.30 - 4.30pm)
• 2.We arrange vehical Pochavram TO Bhadrachalam 70 km by road journey(2 hours)
• 3.Finally Reaching to Bhadrachalam at: 6.00pm. Temple will be close @ 9.00pm

EXPLORE THE GODAVARIWATERS OF PAPIKONDALU The entrance of Papi kondalu can be seen from Koruturu (West Godavari District).The original name for this hill range was ‘Papidi Kondalu’. Papidi is a rough translation for partition in Telugu. Since this range looks like a well designed partition that splits river Godavari, this name was coined. There is also another idea that the range looks like a partition of a typical Indian Woman’s hair line. In due course, it settled for ‘Papi Kondalu’.Papikondalu Andhra Pradesh – “Papi kondalu” or the “Papi Hills” are series of mountain range that are located Rajahmundry in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. Papikondalu Mountain range runs along River Godavari, one of the largest and vivacious rivers in India. The mighty river narrowing and passing with twists and turns along the Papi Hills is every visitor’s delight. Papikondalu mountain range spreads over a vast area, covering about three districts of East Godavari, West Godavari and Khammam Districts.To get the real essence of Papikondalu, one has to go for the boat journey either from Rajahmundry,Bhadachalamr. There are small motor boats with capacity of five including the rider or River Streamers carrying about fifty to sixty people. The journey takes about 8 hours and the adventure begins the moment you step on to the boat. The ups and downs of the river water, the drifting sand, the cool breeze, small fish that can be spotted in the clean water and the fresh air from the Papikondalu Hills, give you one of the best experiences to travel.Come any season except summer, these hill ranges offer one of the best places to visit in AP in terms of scenic beauty animals, , bird species, which are found here.The flooding river (especially during rainy season- July to September) gives you a thrilling experience to travel. Sometimes the increased water level in the river makes the boat journey precarious. It is the skill and experience of the local sailors, who makes your journey most memorable. There are several sights that fall on the way like Perantalapalli and Pattiseema that are must-see. Several tribal communities have made their dwellings on these hills whose main occupation is agriculture, fishing or handicrafts-making. If you are a real adventure lover with a group of more than five and not with elderly people, one of the fascinating things you can do is camp at the river side overnight.
