Start the Holidays with Dazzling Anheuser-Busch Brewery Lights

Make plans to go see a million twinkle lights sparkling on the historic brick buildings of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.

This is a family friendly, outdoor event on the home campus of Anheuser-Busch in Soulard. It has everything you need to kick off a St. Louis Christmas: holiday cheer, Clydesdales, s’mores, games for the kids, beer for the grown ups and tons of fun.

anheuser-busch campus with twinkle lights

The bad news? There’s a price for admission in 2023 and tickets are limited to keep crowds reasonable, so you really need to make an RSVP online now.

Psst: Want to know where the other good drive through shows are this year? I’ve got a list of a dozen other places to see lights in St. Louis!

When Are the Brewery Lights Open?

Anheuser-Busch will open the gates every weekend from Thanksgiving to the end of December 2023.

They will NOT be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas or New Years Eve.

You can buy timed tickets for Brewery Lights, with slots being offered at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. You can stay as long as you like, the event closes at 10pm.

Free Driving Tour in 2023

If you just want to see the lights, you can drive through the campus Mon-Tues-Wed. Guests will enter off of Arsenal Street, and will drive their vehicles up and down Pestalozzi Street. You can drive through from 5 to 10pm.

It’s not as fun as the walk through light display, but if you’re in the neighborhood, you ought to stop.

The website doesn’t mention this is an option, but I’ve asked the Brewery about it and it’s back on!

brewery lights st louis

Price: $12 for adults, $5 for minors, Free for kids under 5

For a little extra you can buy s’more kits, craft beer, toasted rav & pretzels.

New this year (and INCLUDED in admission) are guided Brew House tours and a self-guided tour of the Old Lyon Schoolhouse Museum.

Wait, what about Parking?

Parking hasn’t been a problem for us, there’s plenty of space to park on the brewery lots. AB security is also highly visible. Parking is still free, and there’s NO reserved spots for VIP packages. Its all first come, first served.

So what’s this Tour like?

They’ve added a huge 50 foot digital holiday tree and an all new light show that lasts 10 minutes! The show is really cool with speakers hidden inside the tree and street decorations. The nearby trees and some of the buildings blink along with the music. Plus, there’s a parade each night at 7:30 (which includes the Clydesdales).

The kid zone has been expanded and now features a live DJ playing family friendly tunes for the little ones.

Brewery Lights in St. Louis tunnel

It’s a self-guided tour, unlike a daytime visit to the brewery.

This is no long a beer ‘sampling’ event, but everyone over 21 will be treated to a full size (16oz!) beer. To avoid lines inside the event, they are checking IDs and handing out complementary beer in the visitor center parking lot, BEFORE entering the lobby and checking your ticket.

Check out Lager Landing for photo ops, picnic tables and a nice bathroom. Public fire pits are located by the big digital tree for warming up and roasting s’mores.

And yes, the gift shop is open.

holiday lights

Naturally, you’re free to purchase more beer if you like. The indoor bar is open and the beer garden is tented (and heated!) with another bar and plenty of seating. You could also purchase s’more kits at the bar if you forgot to add one when you made your reservation.

If you’re hungry for more, the Biergarten is selling toasted rav & pretzels and more from 5pm to 8pm.

Tram and Trains

The tram is still not running this year, but honestly, we haven’t seen it since 2018. It’s a short walk, so this really isn’t a big deal.

The kiddie train ride down by the bottling building is getting a new route and this year goes through a 40 foot tall snowman. The cars are big enough to accommodate grown ups if you want to ride along too.

Clydesdale Photos

The historic Clydesdale stable is open for a meet and greet with one of the horses. Bring your own camera, or add a professional pic for $10.

No Ice Skating this Year

Brewery Lights Ticket Package $12

RSVP your winter wonderland tour and you’ll get entry, free parking and one 16oz beer for those over 21. There are public fire pits available to warm up or roast that s’more kit

Minors under 21 are $5 and kids under 6 are free.

Extras: Souvenir Photo with a Clydesdale is $12, S’more kits are $8 each.

Fire Pit Fun Package

But wait! THERE’S MORE! You can book a private fire pit for a group of up to 8 people. (If you have more than 8, you can book additional fire pits.) They’re not cheap at $450 so you’ll want to grab some friends, but you get WAY more than just a cozy haybale of your own.

This year the Fire Pit package comes with access to a heated hospitality tent & private bathrooms, complimentary beer and soft drinks for the whole night, a buffet, s’more kits and souvenir cups.

Tour the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Lights and Beer Museum

by Family Attractions Card in Family Fun , Holiday Light Displays , Tours category

This holiday season, tour the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Lights and Beer Museum in St. Louis!

Special thanks to anheuser-busch brewery tour guides mallori green and betsy economon who contributed their knowledge and expertise to the following guest blog: .

Of all of the things to see and do in St. Louis, touring the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Lights and Beer Museum are at the top of the list! Not only will you be taken back to the mid-1800s through the ground’s Romanesque revival style architecture, but you’ll see the modern day business excellence that a 19-billion-dollar company produces for its worldwide consumers.

There are many different tour options depending on what aspect of the Brewery you are interested in!

The brewery experience begins at 1200 Lynch Street , where you will be greeted by a guest service specialist. Each team member is well versed on what there is to offer each guest, and gives in-depth information about what each tour experience will include.

One of the tour options is the complimentary brewery tour , which is, you guessed it, free to everyone ! On this tour, you will hear a brief background history about our company’s founders, Eberhardt Anheuser and Adolphus Busch, check out the historic stables, the Beechwood aging cellars, and the brew house. You will also receive two free samples along the way!

Interested in history and architecture? The Beer Museum tour is for you!

The Beer Museum tour is a $15 option led by a knowledgeable tour guide who explains the history of the company, talks about the architecture of the complex, as well as visits the Beer Museum in the historic Old Lyon Schoolhouse. This tour will check out the three national historic landmarks on the brewery grounds; the historic stables, the brew house, and finally, the Old Lyon Schoolhouse.

The first stop on the beer museum tour, always a crowd favorite, are the historic stables. Hang out with the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales and check out the stable’s beautiful architecture. 51% of the building, built in 1891, is still original! These stables aren’t like any stables you have ever seen. The Budweiser Clydesdales are living in style!

After checking out the Clydesdales, you’ll head down to the historic brew house, built in 1891. Adolphus Busch spared no expense on his brew house: it features beautiful tile work, iron work, and hop-vine chandeliers that will blow you away. Stepping into this brew house immediately transports you back to 1891 when all of the brewing was done by hand.

Finally, visit to the Old Lyon Schoolhouse. This building is the oldest building on the campus, and is the third national historic landmark on the tour. Built in 1868, the building served as a public schoolhouse for the city of St. Louis. Today, it serves as the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Beer Museum. With six different galleries, covering everything from company advertising to honoring the brew masters, this museum can answer any questions that you might have.

In the schoolhouse, you will receive a sample of Budweiser in a room meant to replicate an 1800’s tavern. You will also get to take home a souvenir sample glass. Finally, once you have checked out the museum, head back up to the tour center to enjoy a complementary full size sample of Budweiser, Bud Light, Shocktop, or Stella Artois Cidre.

There is so much to do at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery!

If you don’t have any interest in taking a tour, there are many other things you can do at the brewery! The Biergarten is a full service restaurant that is located on the brewery grounds serving your typical bar-food menu. There are also 20+ different beers on tap for you to try! Inside the tour center, there is also a gift shop where you can purchase all of your Budweiser memorabilia.

Save 15% on your food purchase at The Biergarten or your merchandise purchase in the Gift Shop

During the holidays, check out the anheuser-busch brewery lights.

Pretty decent experience. Several things to interest you. I was surprised we spent over two hours there with two kids five and two. The light show is lackluster. But the Christmas music was nice. For the kids, they enjoyed seeing the Clydesdales and the few inflatables and picture taking options. For $10 and free for five and under it's worth it for small kids or if you, the adult, just want to get out the house and walk around. (Oh yeah, free beer.)

anheuser busch christmas lights tour

This is great if you like to stand in line and wait in traffic. Why do they have ticket times when they let anyone in no matter what time is on the ticket. A way to bet the line is to drop someone off at the gate and let them get in line and have the rest of your group cut in line. Saw it happen several times. They have zero security along the long line. Expect a long line for food and longer to get a beer. Also they have a very limited menu for food. The lights are nice. This was our 3rd visit and our last. Plan on spending all night from the time we got to the highway exit to finally get inside was over an hour and expect to walk several blocks once you find a place to park.

1st time coming to the Brewery Lights. We were impressed as soon as you walk in it was FREE BEER!!! Nice touch AB. The weather was perfect, not to cold or windy. We we impressed how crowded it was for a Sunday. There is plenty to keep kids of all ages busy. The line for the Clydesdale Horse was wrapped around the building.. I would suggest doing that 1st if you can.. we oadt this time. Ice skating at $5?? That's a steal. Plus if you bring your own skates its Free!!! There is a little train for kids but all it does is go around in a circle pretty fast so I am sure there were a few "pukers"...lol There are snacks and Beer stands located throughout the walk through so being hungry or thirsty is not an option. They offer brewery tours during this time if you are interested. The Reserved firepits looked pretty neat. I am not sure about the cost but could be worth it if split between families. They offered wall up food options as well but finding a seat is difficult. Take advantage of the photo ops. Not a bad price for a memento!!

There was free beer handed out to everybody during entry as it came with each ticket. I was in a group of 4 and was denied my complimentary beer when everybody else in my group was given one. And the "light show" was extremely underwhelming. I had a much better experience at the Botanical Garden lights won't waste my time/money here again.

Really disappointing that after a terrible 2020 AB decides to charge $10 per person to see the lights. Not worth it

We did the Brewery Lights this past weekend. I'm a St. Louis native who has never been on a brewery tour, so I this was my first A-B experience. I like that it was free! There was a good 10-15-minute wait to get in. They were checking IDs and then they gave out bracelets with pull-off tabs to trade in for beer samples. There were at least five stations with beer samples. I didn't have any and I don't remember what they were. You could take a tram or walk. We chose to walk. The lights were really pretty. There was a Christmas marketplace about halfway through the tour. There was a neat area with a giant light bright and other games, but there were a bunch of kids hogging that stuff. You could get your photo taken with a Clydesdale, but the line was long and slow for that. I don't know how much copies cost. The whole experience took about an hour, but I see how you could make an evening of it if you had samples.

When you need to get into the holiday spirit and you don't want to spend any money, the brewery lights are a must do activity for every one. Plan the day of your visit wisely: we tried to go on the Friday after Thanksgiving and sat on the Arsenal exit ramp from I-55 for about 20 minutes. We ended up not even parking since the line was out of this world long. Just don't plan to go when everyone is off work/school and you should be ok. I found that going during the week meant fewer people and shorter lines. The exhibit is free self-guided walking tour. This year, IDs were checked before entering and we were given a wristband with 5 drink tickets. The tickets can be redeemed for a beer/cider at several different stations along the display. There are also packages available to purchase that will get you access to food, a souvenir glass, or a s'mores kit. The lights adorn every historic building on the campus, every bridge, every walkway. There are space heaters positioned at the beer stations along the way. Each station had a different selection of beer. Don't worry, it's not just Bud and Bud Light at each station. The only line we encountered was a visit to the stables to see the gorgeous Budweiser Clydesdales. You can have a holiday photo with a Clydesdale (for purchase). You are allowed to take your own photo with the horses, too. The official photographer will not touch your phone/camera, so feel free to ask the people in line behind you if they will take a photo of your group. You'll find fire pits with s'mores, kettle corn or regular popcorn for purchase, a skating rink with skate rental, food inside for purchase, and lots of photo opportunities!

As part of a fun night in Soulard I got to walk through "Brewery Lights" which I had never done before. This is really cool! I'm sure you can imagine how cool the brewery looks with professional holiday lights! There are lots of beer stations and plenty of snacks like kettle corn, s'mores, hot chocolate, etc. They even have outdoor heaters strategically placed in case you get too cold. If it's not too frigid out I highly recommend the Brewery Lights. It got me in the holiday spirit!

anheuser busch christmas lights tour

If you're in STL during Christmas time, this is definitely something to see. Admission = free! and I think they were also giving out free beer samples. The whole campus was sectioned off into different themes, which included different themed lights and themed drinks. Besides seeing the lights, there was also a skating rink, vendor booths, and the stable! There was plenty of food to be bought in the Biergarten or outside (kettle corn).

Photo of Brian M.

The brewery tours are a must do for anyone visiting Saint Louis, however during the holidays the brewery is transformed into a winter wonderland complete with lights, snow, and Clydesdales. The tour itself is free self-guided walking tour which provides you with five free drink certificates which can be redeemed for a drink at numerous stations around the Brewery Lights display. There are also paid upgrade options available, for example you can reserve a fire pit for 3 hours so you and your friends can roast marshmallows. In addition to admiring the old classic buildings and their festive lights you can stop and warm up around a fire pit or stop off at one of many photo opportunities. My favorite photo stop had to be a vist to the stable to see the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales. You and your group can have a personalized holiday photo with a Clydesdale, which would make for a perfect holiday card. There is a small fee if you purchase the photo at the brewery, however I saw a number of people taking their own photos at the same time. In addition to beer stations, you can also purchase kettle corn or hot chocolate while admiring the lights and the festive atmosphere. Overall Brewery Lights is a great way to help jump start your holiday spirit, and best of all its free and family friendly!

Anheuser Busch Brewery Lights Up at Christmas

It’s a magical time of year at this Midwest brewery: festive lights, s’mores stations, and mighty Clydesdales.

a Budweiser King of Beers sign at the St. Louis Brewery Christmas Lights

Situated in the historic Soulard neighborhood in St. Louis, Anheuser-Busch has been part of the city’s scenery for over 150 years. The King of Beers is the fifth oldest brewery in the United States and you get a sense of that nostalgia touring the facility.

The brewery offers a stellar free tour throughout the year, but during the holidays they kick it up a notch.

Anheuser Busch brewery lights at Christmas.

They have been spreading holiday cheer for thirty years and counting. The entire grounds are decked out in lights, sampling booths are spread out throughout the area, the Clydesdale stable is open for visitors and you can warm up and roast s’mores over an open fire.

Does it get much better than that? Yes, it does. It is budget and kid-friendly!

Clydesdale at the St. Louis Brewery Christmas Lights

A $12 ticket includes parking, a complimentary 16 oz beer for those 21 and older, a 30-minute light show, and access to Love Beer Plaza & the newly Enhanced Kid’s Zone.

Online reservations are required as only 5,200 tickets will be sold nightly.

Make sure to stop in The Biergarten , an outdoor area in the summer but enclosed and heated during the winter months.

It features 18 beers on draught and offers a buffet of pub food. Be sure to try the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks, my husband claims they are the best he has ever had!

If you enjoy holiday lights, don’t miss the Missouri Botanical Garden Glow!

Back Again for this Holiday Season

The Kid Zone, included in your ticket, has a Brewery Express Train that rides through a 40-foot snowman, holiday classics playing on the big screen, Munchkin DJ Radio playing every night, a new ice maze, holiday goodies, and festive games.

Beautiful photographs of the festive lights at the brewery. I don’t really appreciate beer, but your pictures really “draw me in” anyway! Sounds like a great three day adventure…you guys really know your away around the St. Louis area and how to have a great time!

Dang Travelers

St. Louis is an awesome city. Not only do they have great attractions, most of them are free!

Looks like fun!! I had no idea the brewery’s got so festive hehe

We always like to find Christmas activities like zoo lights or markets during the holidays. When we saw the brewery had something going on and it included free beer, we were in!

“Just stop. You had us at free beer!”

Indeed. Good find!

I mean really, who is going to pass that up?!

Carol Colborn

Really don’t drink but my husband does and he loves going to breweries and distilleries. This place is wonderfully dressed up and Budweiser is a favorite brand of his!

Even if you don’t drink it’s a fun tour plus you get to see the beautiful Clydesdales. So it could be a win-win for both of you!

It all looks very festive, although there’s something sad about looking at lights once the holiday is over. I like brewery tours even though I don’t drink beer much and the horses look cute. Maybe next year.

I think they should leave the lights up all year around, makes the area so festive. The brewery has been part of the landscape of St. Louis for over a 150 years so even if you don’t like beer it’s a fun way to experience a little history.

Laura Nordberg

I’m a massive beer lover so this looks like my kind of place! Lovely pictures too 🙂

Thanks Laura. Cannot beat holiday lights, free beer and s’mores!

Madi | Restless Worker

It’s definitely hard to beat Christmas celebrations and beer! Looks like a cool place

You are right about that! It is a cool and festive place to be during the Christmas season for sure.

Way too crowded this year ! Horrible lines for everything. Should have limited the number of tickets sold.

I thought they were? Did you go on a weekend? Unfortunately, I feel like every event nowadays is so busy.

Bud Light and Post Malone Team Up For “A Night in Nashville”, an Exclusive One-Night-Only Country Music Event

Taking over the city of Nashville for one night only, Bud Light and Post Malone will give fans an intimate performance with music from his upcoming album as well as the classics

NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 20, 2024 - Bud Light and 9x RIAA diamond-certified, GRAMMY® Award-nominated phenomenon Post Malone have officially partnered together again as they head to the epicenter of country music for “A Night in Nashville” that will bring fans 21+ closer to one of most highly anticipated album releases of the year. This event will feature an exclusive night of live music from Post Malone in Nashville, TN on Tuesday, July 16th, featuring music from his forthcoming album as well as the classics.

“Bud Light has rocked with me for a while now, and I really can’t thank them enough for all the love and support they’ve shown through the years.” said Post Malone. “July 16th is going to be a kick ass night and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on with everybody.”

Starting today, country music fans can direct message Bud Light’s Instagram or Facebook “A Night In Nashville” for information on how to enter for a chance to win tickets to one of the hottest shows of the summer through Bud Light’s Easy Wishes platform.

“Post Malone is the hottest artist in the world and a loyal Bud Light partner and true fan of the brand. Bud Light has been so lucky to have a front row seat to his remarkable career over the years and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this new era with him,” said Todd Allen, SVP of Marketing for Bud Light. “Bud Light is bringing the best of country music to fans all summer long and ‘A Night in Nashville’ is the epitome of a true once-in-a-lifetime country experience we know fans will never forget.”

Bud Light’s partnership with Post Malone expands the brand’s deep presence within country music as the brand builds off of its decades-long history of bringing fans unparalleled access to live music, through experiences like the Bud Light Backyard Tour and the Bud Light Dive Bar Tour Series. Throughout 2024, the brand is showing up at the biggest country music moments like Stagecoach and CMA Fest, and teaming up with some of the biggest artists in country music.
