Excellence Playa Mujeres "luxury" private airport transfer

We've been to Mexico 18 times now. We've always used USA Transfers and always been happy with them (their price is right too). Going to Excellence we figured let's go luxury all the way and decided to spend three times the money for "luxurious" roundtrip experience. After we landed we couldn't find a Seasons Tours or Excellence representative anywhere. A rep from a competitors company helped us find a single guy that was running all over the place trying to handle a quite busy situation. You would never guess that he works for Seasons Tours, as he wasn't labeled in any noticeable way (no word Seasons or Excellence labeled). They put us in a family equipped SUV (I couldn't believe that during our ride I was staring at a child car seat, while it was supposed to be an adult luxurious ride), huge disappointment, it sort of spoiled the first impression of our very expensive trip overall. On our way back finally they put us in a car that was promised. As Season Tours are exclusive to Excellence we thought we would have the Excellence level of service on the transfer and obviously it didn't happen. Definitely not worth triple the money, next time we're using USA Transfers again. Pretty disappointing.

These guys are top-of-the-line and the only people I trust with my private transfers in Mexico. I am thrilled every time I arrive at the Cancun airport and am greeted by Jesus. Girardo is a an excellent driver, English is fantastic and an asset to the Seasons Team. I would highly recommend them for all of you airport-resort transporation. Vehicles are large, cool and clean.

Homer made our tour to Chichen Itza truly one to remember. He knew the history inside and out! He Kept us in the shade so we weren't dying of heat exhaustion. He has quite the personality was one of the kindest gentlemen i've ever met. Afterwards we swam in a sink hole and he offered to watch over everyone's belongings. Saving us money on lockers. He was amazing!

Booked the Whale Shark Trip with Season Tours for $195, well over the $125 price set by the government. We thought as Season Tours were exclusive to Excellence we would have the Excellence hotel level of service and the trip would be amazing. Also we didn't have to sort a taxi and ferry over to Isla Mujeres we thought it would be worth it to save the hassle. How wrong we were! All the extra $70 got us was a mini bus to the local marina that could be walked to yourself in 5 mins. Once there we met found out it was not a Seasons Tour trip but just a bunch of us from various hotels on a trip by a different company. The others having paid only $125 which included their transfer from Cancun!!! The trip was a disaster. High waves in a small boat. We were all soaked completely through within minutes. Any bags we had were soaked too as the boat took on water. It was so rough on the boat we were thrown around and had to hang on. By the end of the day I was covered in bruises. We hired wet suits for $15 extra to go in the water. Only 2 people went in out of the 10. We counted a total of over 40 boats out there also. All waiting in a line for a Whale Shark to appear, it was hardly suprising one didn't appear and we didn't see one whale shark all day. We were due to be back at Finest at 1.40pm, in reality we were out until gone 4pm searching. People were being violently sick over the side of boats as it was so choppy out there. We were told to please not put on sun block until after we swam which meant as we didn't even go in a lot of us got badly sunburnt. One lady in our hotel couldn't go out of her hotel room the next day as she was so burnt. We didn't get a drink until gone 2.30pm so were very dehydrated too. After we had given up looking we stopped on a reef which was beautiful and saw a few turtles and a dolphin in the distance. They prepared a shrimp meal for us which was lovely. On arrival back at the marina we were advised there was a 30 min wait to go back to our hotel. Having had enough and being soaked through we and 3 others decided to walk back ourselves to the hotel. On arrival back at Finest we found the Seasons Tour rep and complained, showed her our bruises and asked for our money back. She phoned her manager who said no, that we had seen a whale shark and there were no guarantees. We had all been told we were guaranteed to see many whale sharks and would get to snorkel with one several times. The leaflet from Season Tours stated "swim with the whale sharks" "snorkel with them" "come face to face with them" "The experience of a life time" This didn't happen. I get you cant force animals to interact if they don't want too but we were seriously misled. I emailed many companies before booking with Season Tours, some had an opportunity of doing the trip again if no sightings happened. The way Season Tours treated us and dealt with our complaint was awful. We had paid way over the odds to do something advertised that didn't happen. We involved Excellence as they list Season Tours as their exclusive 'in house' Tour company. Their customer service from Excellence management was appalling too. In the end we got half of our money back from Season Tours which we were not happy with but seeing as the Manager never even came to talk to us about our issues we couldn't advance on them. Do yourself a favour and either walk to the marina yourself and book direct (with Eco tours as that's who you'll go with) for $125 or pay $130 and book with the man with the orange t-shirt and clipboard who wanders along the beach as he picks you up from the beach too. Our expensive trip of a lifetime was a disaster and we left an amazing hotel to waste a day of our holiday doing this. Never again.

Seasons is Excellence Resorts' in house travel agency if you are not familiar with them. It makes booking excursions an absolute breeze and you don't have to worry about going and meeting up with a big tour bus. You leave right from your resort and take a large 15 passenger van to the destination. For us we went to Chichen Itza. You leave your resort around 8 which is plenty of time to beat the massive charter buses to the ruins. By the time you are leaving the ruins is the time those groups are arriving. You won't have to worry about massive crowds in the backgrounds of your pictures or dodging these groups just to walk around the site. Homero, our guide, did a fantastic job telling the story of the Mayans at Chichen Itza as well as keeping us in the shade as much as possible! Seasons also provided us with lots of water so that was not something we had to worry about on the excursion. After the ruins we had lunch at Las Mestizas just a few minutes away from the ruins before heading to swim in a cenote (an under ground limestone cave). After we swam we went to Valladolid and if you are a fan of Expedition Unknown on Travel Channel you will recognize this as the city that Josh Gates goes to on the episode that he explores Chichen Itza and the surrounding cenotes. We had the opportunity to shop around and grab a snack. I definitely recommend getting a coconut popsicle that has actual chunks of coconut in it. BEST popsicle ever! No matter what your preference of destination just make sure you use Seasons to get there! This is also the group that does the private transports from the airport to the resort and back. Getting into a nice, air conditioned Tahoe with an ice cold towel is the best way to start a vacation in Mexico after getting off the plane and going through customs! You won't regret your travel with Seasons!

We have traveled several times now and find that booking private transportation to and from the airport, if available, is totally worth the additional cost. Our driver was Julio and Julio was terrific!!! Great job, Julio!!! The taxi services are reportedly inconsistent in their prices (unless you confirm a price up front, you can get ripped off) and if traveling with 4 or more ppl, the shuttle price roughly approximates private transportation anyway. And you are going on vacation, so go on vacation!!!! 😀

Moscow Metro 2019

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

60 rides - 1900 RUB

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

SamsungPay, ApplePay and PayPass cards.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

There are also signs on the platfrom. They will help you to havigate yourself. (To the lines 3 and 5 in this case).
