Elton John Announces Final ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ North American Tour Dates

Elton John has announced the final shows for the North American leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour , which run through November.

The 11 new tour dates include additional shows in East Rutherford, New Jersey; Foxborough, Massachusetts; Phoenix, Arizona; Toronto, Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. A third show has also been added to his run at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Tickets for the new slate of concerts go on sale April 6 at 10 a.m. local time via John’s website , with a limited number of VIP packages and American Express card member presale tickets available beginning on March 30 at 10 a.m. local time.

“It’s hard to believe that after tomorrow in St. Louis, I’ll have just a handful of shows left before I wrap up my final arena performances in the United States,” John said in a statement. “This year will see my grand finale in North America, playing stadiums all around the country, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had. Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I cherish these memories we’re making together. It has been nothing short of incredible and I look forward to seeing you very soon one last time, on my Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.”

John’s epic farewell tour has experienced some bumps along the way, including the postponement of two Dallas shows in January after the musician was diagnosed with Covid-19. At the time, he had just resumed his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour  after a nearly two-year delay  caused by the pandemic , as well as an  ill-timed hip injury .

Earlier this month, the singer shared a new video for “ Finish Line ,” his collaborative track with Stevie Wonder that appears on John’s all-star 2021 album, The Lockdown Sessions .

Elton John's farewell tour is in Phoenix. Everything to know if you're going to Chase Field

Elton John brings the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour to downtown Phoenix for back-to-back concerts on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12.

That makes three times John's farewell tour will have played the Valley since launching in 2018.

The first was in early 2019, a nearly three-hour performance in Glendale that struck a bittersweet balance between a victory lap and an emotional acknowledgment that a lot of those fans would never see him perform again.

Here's everything to know before you go to Chase Field — from parking information to details on the venue's clear bag policy and what to expect from the concert itself.

Best places to eat at Chase Field

A wide variety of Chase Field dining and beverage concessions will be open. 

That includes A-Zona Street Tacos, Big Dawgs, Black Rock Coffee Bar, Burger Burger, Cactus Corn, Carvery Cart, Chick Fil-A, Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers, Copper State Steaks, Doubleheaders, Gadzooks Enchiladas & Soup, Gonzo's Grill, Guy Fieri’s DTPHX Kitchen + Bar, Hop Valley Box, Hungry Hill Sangwich, Oasis, Red Hot Grill, ReyGloria's Tamales, Streets of New York, Taste of Chase and The Still at Cutwater

For dessert, there's Churro Dog, Cold Stone Creamery, Desert Ice, Scoopwell’s Dough Bar, Sweet Treats, Wetzel’s Pretzels and Zoyo Yogurt.

Can I still buy tickets to Elton John's Phoenix concerts?

Yes. A week out from the concerts, tickets were still available at Ticketmaster  for each performance in Phoenix.

What time should I arrive at Chase Field?

Doors open at 6 p.m. at Chase Field. Fans are encouraged to show up as early as possible to avoid potential delays at the gates as you get closer to show time. The concerts start at 8 p.m.

Heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic is expected when the concert ends at around 11 p.m.

Can I bring water or other beverages to Chase Field?

You may bring any of the following:

• Unflavored/noncarbonated water in sealed plastic bottles.
• Empty plastic water bottles.
• Sealed single-serving juice boxes.
• Formula (and baby food).

You may not bring outside alcohol into the venue.

No metal or glass containers are permitted. Thermos containers or those similar in style are not permitted.

Small food items are permitted if brought in an approved clear bag.

Can I bring a bag to Chase Field? Does my purse need to be clear?

Approved bags include clutch purses and wallets no larger than 6.5 inches by 4.5 inches or clear bags no larger than 12-by-12-by-6 inches.

Clear bags may not have obscured interior pockets.

Purses are subject to search.

Resealable clear plastic storage bags no larger than one gallon are permitted.

Can I bring a seat cushion or blanket to Chase Field?

Seat cushions no wider than 18 inches without pockets, zippers or concealable areas are permitted.

Clothing and blankets are permitted if carried loosely or in an approved clear bag.

What if I want to Uber or Lyft to or from Chase Field?

The suggested pick-up and drop-off area is at Washington and Third streets, north of the stadium. 

How do mobile tickets work for this event?

All tickets for this event are mobile. Access your tickets using the MLB Ballpark App or Ticketmaster App.

Customer service is available at Chase Field Plaza located on Fourth Street between Jefferson and Jackson on the Southwest corner of the stadium near gate E.

PSA: Chase Field is cash free

Chase Field is a cashless stadium that only accepts major credit and debit cards, Apply Pay and Google Pay.

Where do I enter if I have floor seats?

All guests with floor seats must enter Chase Field via Gate J on the east side of the stadium just under the overpass of South Seventh Street.

Guests with floor tickets will be unable to enter the ballpark at any other gate.  

Also worth noting? There are bars are on the floor so guests can head straight to the floor for beverages.

VIP package check-in is also located at Gate K.

What to expect at security

As you approach a gate, your ticket will be scanned, and you will be instructed to place your cell phone or other metal objects in a bin on the table or inside your handbag or backpack.

Small sets of keys or spare change do not need to go in the bin. Security will then examine your bags and direct you through the metal detector.

What if I can't or don't want to go through a metal detector?

Fans who do not prefer to go through the metal detector have the option of a pat-down search.

If a medical implant sets off the metal detector, the person will be subject to a follow-up screening that may include a hand wand or light pat-down search.

Gates A, C, E, J and K and the Bridge Entrance will have lanes available for those who cannot go through a metal detector because of a mobility device.

Guests using these lanes will be subject to a light pat-down or hand wand, as well as inspection of the mobility device.

Weapons of any kind are not allowed

Weapons of any kind, including pocket knives, are prohibited.

Chase Field will not hold personal items. Storage lockers are available.

Only active federal or Arizona state law enforcement officers may enter with a firearm. Credentials will be verified at the time of entry.

Here's what else you can't bring to the Elton John concert

The following item are prohibited:

• Animals (except for service animals).
• Aerosol cans.
• Drones and other remote-controlled devices.
• Drugs or other illegal substances (including medical marijuana).
• Masks (except those that are medically required).
• Fireworks or other incendiary devices.
• Camera tri-, dual- or single-leg pods by non-media personnel.
• Skateboards, inline skates, scooters or shoes with wheels.
• Obscene, offensive, indecent or inappropriate attire.
• Blow horns or noisemakers.
• Fishing nets.
• Beach balls, balloons or other inflatables (without prior approval).
• Laser pens.
• Banners containing commercial, political or obscene material, or that block guest views.
• Bicycles (use the approved bike parking racks).
• Liquids or machines for blowing bubbles.

Other items may be prohibited at the discretion of Chase Field management, so don't bring a canoe or a lawnmower just because it didn't make the list of things you shouldn't bring.

During an event, you may inquire about lost and found items at Guest Services stations on the Main Concourse section 128 or 322. Following an event, all unclaimed items are logged by Security and secured for 30 days.

How to take light rail to the Elton John concert

Valley Metro trains run every 15-20 minutes with a drop-off steps from Chase Field at the Third Street/Washington or Third Street/Jefferson stations.

The light rail runs until midnight.

You can buy your fare at any light rail station using cash, credit or debit card — or purchase a pass in advance to avoid lines at the vending machines.

It may be best to buy an all-day pass for riding to and from the concert. Once you activate your pass, it's good for unlimited boarding the same day. That way, there's no need to wait in line to purchase a pass when the concert is over.

Is park and ride available?

Here's a list of Valley park and ride lots:

Phoenix:  19th and Dunlap avenues, 19th and Montebello avenues, 19th Avenue and Camelback Road, Seventh Avenue and Camelback Road, Central Avenue and Camelback Road and 38th and Washington streets.

Tempe:  Dorsey Lane and Apache Boulevard, McClintock Drive and Apache Boulevard, Loop 101 and Apache Boulevard.

Mesa:  Sycamore and Main Street; Mesa Drive and Main Street; Gilbert Road and Main Street.

Where can I park near Chase Field?

You can select a lot and pay for parking in advance at parkwhiz.com. Five days out, 20 lots within a 1-mile radius of Chase Field had spaces available for $8-$40.

I'm driving to the Elton John concert. What's the best route to take?

Chase Field is at 401 E. Jefferson St. in downtown Phoenix. It is bounded by Seventh Street to the east, Fourth Street to the west, Jefferson Street to the north, and the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks to the south.

There are multiple construction projects taking place on both the freeways and surface streets to and from Chase Field, so plan extra time to get there if you are arriving by car.

For example, Fourth Street will be closed by noon.

If you're coming from the Southeast Valley:

Take Interstate 10 west, then use the right three lanes to I-17 at the split. Exit to the right on Seventh Street, then turn left at the light on Lincoln Street. Or, continue north on Seventh Street to Jefferson Street, then turn right to access parking facilities east of Seventh Street.

A word to the wise: Left turns from Seventh Street westbound onto Washington Street are prohibited.

To avoid congestion, continue on I-17 to the Seventh Avenue exit, go right on Seventh Avenue and then right at Lincoln or Jefferson streets.

If you're coming from Scottsdale or east Mesa:

Take Loop 202 west to I-10 and exit via the Fifth Avenue HOV lane or Seventh Avenue. Turn left on Fillmore, Van Buren (accessible from Fifth Avenue only) or Jefferson streets.

If you're coming from the Northwest Valley:

Use I-17 to the Jefferson Street exit, then turn left and continue eastbound.

If you're coming from the Northeast Valley:

Take State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) to I-10 east, exit at Washington Street and turn right. Or take I-10 west to the Seventh Street exit and turn left.

To avoid congestion, continue on I-10 to Seventh Avenue or the Fifth Avenue HOV exit. Turn left on Fillmore, Van Buren (accessible from Fifth Avenue only) or Jefferson streets.

If you're coming from North Central Phoenix:

Use surface streets, including Seventh Avenue, First Avenue and Seventh Street.

Due to heavy traffic, Seventh Street is the least-preferred option.

If you're coming from the West Valley

Take I-10 to Seventh Avenue or the Fifth Avenue HOV exit and turn right. Turn left on Fillmore, Van Buren (accessible from Fifth Avenue only) or Jefferson streets for parking.

Elton John to perform at Levi’s® Stadium on October 8!

On the heels of Elton John’s 75th birthday and his triumphant return to the stage this year, the iconic superstar and tour promoter AEG Presents announced the remaining North American dates for “Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road The Final Tour.” These eleven dates mark the final shows added to his North American tour. The new dates include additional performances in East Rutherford, NJ, Foxborough, MA, Toronto, ON, Vancouver, BC, and Phoenix, AZ, along with a THIRD show added at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. Due to overwhelming demand, stops in Santa Clara, CA, San Diego, CA, and Tacoma, WA, have also been added.

Tickets will go on sale to the public Wednesday, April 6 at 10am local time at www.EltonJohn.com .

• All guests ages 2 and above must have an event ticket to enter the stadium.
• Add your tickets and parking passes into Apple Wallet or G Pay to expedite entry at parking and stadium gates.
• There is no re-entry after admittance.
• Guests should have their tickets ready to scan upon approaching the stadium entry gates.
• The ticket barcode must be visible no matter the ticket type.
• The Visa Box Office opens at 4pm and is located at the north end of the stadium at Toyota Gate F. Walk-up tickets may also be available at the Visa Box Office.
• Tickets will not be emailed or available to print. Screenshots of tickets are not accepted. Your mobile ticket must be displayed on your phone to get into the event.

All guests must be in possession of a valid event ticket, pass or credential to park in a designated parking lot. Please download prepaid parking passes ahead of time and add them to your mobile wallet for an expedited parking process. Day of parking will be available on a limited basis. Credit card payment only.

Mobility Services will be onsite at 4:15pm to provide roving carts from the mobility kiosks in Red Lot 1.

Bicycle Parking

Bicycle parking will be located outside Dignity Health Gate C and opens at 5:30pm.

Buses/Oversized Vehicle

Buses/oversized vehicles must park in Blue RV and contact the Visa Box Office at 408-579-4449 to purchase parking in advance.

Tailgating is not permitted for this event.

Valley Transportation Authority (VTA)

VTA will operate increased train service from Mountain View station (Caltrain transfer) and Milpitas station (BART transfer) two hours prior to event start. Post-event service will run for approximately 60 minutes post-event. For more information, please visit 

Guests heading to the concert can get off at the Mountain View station and transfer to VTA light rail service to Levi’s Stadium. Post-event, Caltrain will operate regular weekend schedule – the last northbound train will depart Mountain View at 11:34pm. We recommend guests riding Caltrain to make the VTA connection no later than 11pm. Southbound trains will depart at 11:16pm, 12:15am, and 1:21am. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)

BART will operate regular weekend schedule and will offer one special event train post-concert in coordination with VTA. The last train northbound trains will depart at 11:21pm, 11:37pm, and 11:51pm. For more information, please visit  www.bart.gov .

Capitol Corridor

VTA will operate increased train service pre-game from Mountain View station (Caltrain transfer) and Milpitas station (BART transfer) two hours prior to game start. Post-game service will run for approximately 60 minutes from the official end of game. For more information, please visit www.vta.org , or call 408-321-2300.

Capitol Corridor will operate regular weekend schedule southbound to Santa Clara. For more information, please visit www.capitolcorridor.org .

Caltrain provides services from San Francisco to South San Jose with stops all along the peninsula. On Sunday, fans heading to the game can get off at the Mountain View station and transfer to VTA light rail service to Levi’s Stadium. Post-game, Caltrain will operate regular weekend schedule and northbound trains will depart Mountain View at 4:34 pm, 5:34 pm and 6:34 pm.

Drop-off/Pick-up Area for Rideshare

  The rideshare drop-off location at Levi’s® Stadium for this event will be on Great America Parkway curbside, between Tasman Drive and Old Glory Lane. The pick-up zone is located in Red Lot 7. Follow signage and staff instructions for additional direction.

All accessible parking will be directed to Green Lot 1. Guests who possess a valid placard will be directed to park and must display their placard at the entrance to be admitted.

Elton John to bring farewell tour to Phoenix in late 2022

PHOENIX – The yellow brick road leads back to the Valley for Elton John. The music icon announced Wednesday one of the last shows of his farewell tour will be at Chase Field next year.

John will play at the downtown home of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Nov. 12, 2022. General public tickets to his Farewell Yellow Brick Road show will go on sale in Arizona at 10 a.m. June 30. Presales started Wednesday.

The voice behind such hits as “Tiny Dancer,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Your Song” and “I’m Still Standing” last performed in the Valley in January 2019. That show at Glendale’s Gila River Arena was part of his ongoing tour and was thought to be the last time he’d play in metro Phoenix.

“Hello, all you wonderful fans out there. I’m coming to you today with an announcement I’ve been working towards for, well, all my life: the shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe. I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career,” John said in a press release.

“I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time.”

It will be John’s 12th concert in the Valley. He first performed here Sept. 17, 1971, at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

“We are really looking forward to working with AEG to host this living legend in front of a sold-out stadium,” Derek Hall, president and CEO of the Diamondbacks, who are hosting the tour stop with entertainment group AEG.

Sir Elton John is in the midst of his long-running “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour. He’s now expanded the jaunt with 11 new North American dates. According to a press release, these mark the final shows added to the North American leg of the tour.

What Is Elton John’s Next Tour?

The Pinball Wizard’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour” is already in full swing and will run all the way into summer 2023 with lengthy North American and European legs. John will wrap his current North American leg on April 28th at Miami’s FTX Arena before embarking on a European tour that will see him in Milan, Paris, and numerous UK dates through July.

He returns to North America for an extensive stadium tour starting on July 15th in Philadelphia on a run that features his first of the recently-revealed dates including East Rutherford, New Jersey on July 24th and Foxborough, Massachusetts on July 27th. After a months’ break, John resumes the leg with back-to-back shows in Toronto on September 7th and 8th (second night just added), followed by new dates in Charleston, South Carolina, two nights in Tacoma, Washington, Phoenix, San Diego, and an additional appearance for the three-night finale at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles from November 17th to 20th.

John then kicks off 2023 with a double-header in Auckland, New Zealand starting January 27th before heading back to the UK for nine shows at London’s O2 Arena, three nights a-piece in Berlin, Hamburg, and Cologne, Germany, and a true, well-earned, final farewell in Stockholm, Sweden on July 7th and 8th, 2023.

Who Is Opening for Elton John on Tour?

Elton John is front-and-center for his farewell tour with no openers announced. That doesn’t preclude a surprise appearance from one of his many career collaborators though, which includes Dua Lipa , Lil Nas X , and Lady Gaga just within the last few years.

How Can I Get Tickets for Elton John’s 2022 Tour?

American Express cardholders will have early access to the new dates with pre-sale starting on Wednesday, March 30th at 10:00 a.m. local time. Pre-sale through Elton John’s Rocket Club opens Friday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m. local time, while general public on-sale begins on Wednesday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Ahead of the release of her new “ Funk Generation ” album, slated for April 26, Anitta has announced she is going on tour .

Starting May 18 in Mexico City, Mexico, the “Baile Funk Experience Tour” will take the Brazillian singer to over 20 cities, including her first tour dates in North America. She’ll then hit South America and Europe in major cities like Paris, London, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Ibiza and more.

Las Vegas date added to the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour

Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road The Final Tour has added Las Vegas to the highly anticipated North American stadium run and will make a stop at Allegiant Stadium on November 1, 2022.

Las Vegas has been Elton’s most-played city throughout his 50+ year career, playing close to 500 shows including two highly successful multi-year residencies. The Allegiant Stadium performance will mark Elton's first time at the venue.

Tickets go on sale to the public at 10am local time on Monday July 18.
