Pete Davidson Gets Heckled, Walks off Stage During Standup Comedy Performance

Attendees shared the story of the set online, and many did not blame Davidson for cutting it short.

By Michael Hein - June 6, 2024 12:07 pm EDT

Pete Davidson walked off stage during a standup comedy performance on May 24 due to a handful of hecklers in the crowd. The 30-year-old comedian made a stop at the Steelhouse in Omaha , Nebraska on his "Prehab Tour," and he reportedly made it nearly to the end of his set before the audience overwhelmed him. YouTuber Katie Stivers posted a video explaining what happened and gave her two cents as an attendee.

Stivers said that she did not blame Davidson for getting off stage in the midst of "relentless heckling." She blamed the crowd, saying: "Where the f- did decorum go at events because he shouldn't have had to walk off stage because you guys don't understand that because you see crowd work on TikTok that you think every comedian needs to be heckled to the point that they leave stage with one joke left. It's just absolutely absurd. You're ruining it for the whole show."

Stivers confirmed that attendees were asked to leave their phones at the door for this show, as they have been at many stand-up events in recent years. That means fans are unlikely to see clips of the heckling directly, but many commenters came to Davidson's defense. So far, Davidson has not commented publicly on the situation.

Davidson has been out on his "Prehab Tour" since late 2023, and it has had a handful of controversial moments before. In December, the comedian canceled a show in New York City just two hours before it was scheduled to begin, then canceled several of the upcoming dates with little warning. He raised even more concerns in February when he dropped out of a gig at Radio City Music Hall just hours beforehand. He was set to open for controversial comedian Matt Rife, and gave no explanation for his absence.

Still, fans are clamoring to see Davidson as he continues his trek across the country, with dates in the Midwest coming up. He has a string of shows in Michigan coming up followed by a few dates in Wisconsin and Illinois. At the end of the month, his schedule puts him back in the northeast for a while with shows in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut. He even has one show in Maine on June 21 – perhaps making amends for a canceled gig last year.

Tickets are still available for many of Davidson's upcoming performances. Attendees may need to give up their phones before getting in.

My Davidson | A Student Blog Making the Most of Your Campus Visit to Davidson College

a group of students making silly faces while standing on stone steps outside

Arielle Germeus ’25 shares her expertise from a summer of interning with Davidson College's Admission Office on how to make the most of your time on a campus visit.

About the Author

Arielle Germeus ’25 is an intended Genomics major and Africana Studies minor on the premedicine track from Miami, Florida.

In the author’s own words: “I am a Posse Scholar and I had actually never heard of Davidson until starting the Posse Foundation Scholarship application process. To me, what set Davidson apart from the other schools partnered with Posse was its Honor Code . The Honor Code is not only about expecting your peers to hold themselves accountable, but also holding yourself accountable. Accountability is an extremely important characteristic to have, especially in a time and space where we’re just starting adulthood."

“Welcome to Davidson! We are so excited you are here! What questions do you have? What do you want to major in? What are you looking for in a school? What extracurriculars are you interested in? Do you play an instrument? What classes have you taken? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO AFTER COLLEGE?”

I know… it’s a lot. Do not feel like you have to have it all figured out. We understand that everyone is in a different place with the college application process. We also understand that an important part of the college application process is actually visiting the campuses, whether virtually or in-person. As a former college applicant who has visited campuses and is now a college tour guide, I’ve been on both sides of the college touring realm and want to provide you with tips and tools that can help you make the most of your campus visit to Davidson College.

The typical way that people visit colleges is by attending information sessions and going on campus tours. If that is the case for you as well, try to get the most out of your tour guide and engage with them, or try to find a tour guide with similar interests and connect with them after the tour.

As a tour guide, it’s great getting questions while on the tour because a.) it means that myself and the prospective students and families are going to have an engaging tour and b.) sometimes I forget things (I’m human, lol) and so it’s great to get some questions that help guide me while I’m guiding you!

If you have an interest in specific parts of college life, going on a tour is definitely the time to see how your interests can align with aspects of the college campus that you’re touring. When we get to specific places on campus, consider asking how your interests would relate. If the tour guide doesn’t know, ask them to direct you to someone who does.

Another way to make the most of your visit is to do research and prepare questions before visiting, especially when it comes to any academic interests or extracurriculars you’re especially interested in. Explore the college’s website before visiting so that you can curate a list of questions to ask. And even if you don’t research the specific college you’re going to beforehand, having some general questions is great!

Finally, let’s say you’ve done the information session and tour. There are lots more ways to take advantage of the other parts of campus. Grab a campus map from the Admission Office, and go on a self-guided tour to explore parts of campus that you want to see beyond the standard tour.

For example while at Davidson, if you are particularly interested in business, innovation and entrepreneurship, be sure to check out the Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship . Almost all of the offices around campus are open so families can go in and try to speak to someone to know more about the different resources that Davidson has on campus. For example, if community service is your thing, check out the Center for Civic Engagement on the top floor of the Alvarez College Union. Our Matthews Center for Career Development advisors can talk about the numerous resources they offer regarding internships and different programming throughout the year.

Not directly on campus but right next to it is Main Street. On Main Street, there are lots of local businesses. In fact, there are only two chain stores on all of Main Street — CVS and Ben and Jerry’s! While strolling through town, visit the college bookstore and grab some Davidson swag, or grab a bite to eat at the various restaurants that are located on Main Street. Learn more about the area surrounding Davidson’s campus .

I will end with this: the best way to understand what it would be like being a student on campus is to actually reach out to students to gain their perspective. Say you are a senior who has narrowed down your search to two schools, and you just don’t know which is the best fit. Reach out to students from those schools! They will be your peers who you will interact with on a daily basis; and even better, they know all of the ins and outs of campus life and can provide a full perspective. Reaching out to Davidson students would be another really great way to make the most out of your campus visit at Davidson.

The college search process is stressful, but taking advantage of the resources that colleges have for prospective students can help immensely. I hope that you found some of these tips useful. Good luck, college applicants!

College softball's all-time home run leaders.

davidson college video tour

On March 11, 2022, Oklahoma's Jocelyn Alo became college softball's all-time home run leader, hitting her 96th bomb to surpass fellow Sooner Lauren Chamberlain. She ultimately finished with 122 in her career at Oklahoma.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the best sluggers in NCAA Division I history.

The complete list of college softball home run leaders

WCWS: News, history, and fan info | Buy tickets for the softball championship

College softball's all-time leaders in home runs

Jocelyn Alo stands on top of the NCAA as the all-time leader in home runs (122), slugging percentage (.987) and total bases (761), second all-time in RBIs (323) and fifth in runs (281). After tying the NCAA Division I softball record for career home runs (95) on Feb. 20 against Texas State, teams tiptoed around the slugger, walking her 16 times over the next eight games. But Alo finally blasted the record-breaking homer in the most appropriate place — her home state, Hawaii. She ultimately hit 26 more home runs to standalone at the top as the home run queen. Her senior season also broke the record for slugging percentage, as she passed Chamberlain again with a .987 clip. She won back-to-back 2021 and 2022 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year awards.

Chamberlain accomplished her total in the fewer games. She hit 95 homers in 220 games, as she was limited to just 39 appearances her junior season due to back and PCL injuries. Considering she hit nearly one home run every two games, there were at least another eight or so home runs for the taking. They came anywhere and everywhere, in the regular season, the NCAA tournament, or in a memorable two-home run game in the Women's College World Series finals.

In 2024, both Miami (Ohio)'s Karli Spaid and Oklahoma's Tiare Jennings jumped Chamberlain to take over spots Nos. 2-3 on the all-time list.

Arizona's Katiyana Mauga made a historic run at Chamberlain’s title but still fell three short, as did fellow Wildcat Jessie Harper and 2022 Mississippi State graduate Mia Davidson. That said, Mauga certainly left her mark in the NCAA, conference and school record books. She is the only college softball player with four 20-home run seasons in her career, hitting 20, 26, 21, and 25 from her freshman to senior season. Mauga finished her illustrious career the all-time Pac-12 leader in home runs with 92.

She is tied for the most home runs in Arizona's program history, which may seem obvious, but is also worth mentioning. Mauga is one of six Arizona sluggers in the top 13 home run hitters of all-time. Stacie Chambers, Leah Braatz, Lauren Espinoza and Harper join her as five of the eight players to hit 85 or more home runs in their careers.

HISTORY: Programs with the most college softball titles | Unbreakable NCAA records (we think)

Stacey Nuveman had a long tenure with UCLA, redshirting in 1998 with injury, before being granted a second redshirt to help the 2000 US Olympic team earn the gold medal in 2000 (and then playing the following summer for the USA softball team as well). Nuveman led the nation in home runs with 31 in 1999 helping UCLA to yet another national championship, the eighth of 12 WCWS titles for the Bruins. To have the school record in home runs for DI softball's winningest program is quite a lofty accomplishment.

Now while Michigan's Sierra Romero may occupy the last spot on our home run leaders list with 82, she has the honor of topping college softball's all-time leaders in career grand slams. Thirteen percent of her home runs came as grand slams, her 11 the best in college softball lore, as are her 302 runs scored. And while she may be in the bottom of our top 10 here, she is in the all-time top five for slugging percentage, finishing with a .882 career mark.

STADIUM TOUR: 15 best places to watch NCAA softball according to the fans

Harper and Alo are the most recent entries to the top 10, breaking through in 2021.

Before that, Jessie Warren was the newest entry. She cranked 21 home runs in her 2018 senior campaign giving her 83 all time. She was also named the 2018 Women's College World Series Most Outstanding Player in leading Florida State to its first national championship in program history.
