Sir Paul McCartney MBE is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century.

He was part of perhaps the most famous British band of the 20th century, The Beatles who are regarded as one of the most popular and influential acts in the history of rock music and his songwriting partnership with John Lennon is one of the greatest of all time. McCartney has been recognised as one of the most successful performers of all time collating 60 gold discs and sales of over 100 million albums and 100 million singles of his work with the Beatles and as a solo artist.

In 1999 he received the honour of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist due to the fact that he has written, or co-written 32 songs that have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and as of 2014 he has sold more than 15.5 million RIAA-certified units in the United States. McCartney, Lennon, Harrison and Starr received MBEs in 1965, and in 1997, McCartney was knighted for his services to music. He performed at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games and is seen as ambassador of British music.

McCartney first met Lennon at a church fete in 1967 where he was performing with his current band The Quarrymen, little did they know they would form such a close working relationship and would eventually become the most successful recording band in history. Cited as the driving force behind the first ever rock concept album, 'St. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club', McCartney kept creativity at the forefront of everything he did.

He currently holds an honorary doctorate degree from Yale Music, a Brit Award for an Outstanding Contribution to Music, twenty-one Grammy Awards and a knighthood. The tireless musician is still touring to this day and shows no sign of slowing.

Live reviews

The Paul McCartney concert on October 30, 2014 in Greensboro, NC was far and away the best concert I have been to and I have been to many. To see this music legend alone is amazing but to see him and his band, not missing a beat the entire evening, goes beyond amazing. McCartney's voice gave just a little a couple of times but his enery and showmanship was spot on, and and other than those one or two times, his voice was as rich as ever. Make no mistake, the tickets were expensive but you get every penny's worth of your money back in the show you get. He started late, about 45 minutes or so, but then played for almost 3 straight hours and did 2 extended encores. Just amazing. I saw BB King not too long ago and he played about the length of one of McCartney's encores and just droned on and on for the rest of the hour long show, telling stories that I guess he found entertaining but no one else did, as evidenced by a few boo's. Sad and a waste of good money. Don't get me wrong-I still love BB King but it was a sad waste of time and money that night. You will not have any waste seeing Paul McCartney. His renditions of the old Beatles songs were a delightful step back in time, his Wings songs as tight as ever and it all just got better and better. The lighting and background effects on a large wall of lights produced beautiful effects that went from psychadelic to photo's of children, the Beatels, buildings and more. Standing alone and playing an acoustic guitar on a large block that rose about 20 feet above the stage was fantastic, with a full moon, leafless tree and midnight blue sky behind him. And then a large blue rose forming on the front of the block just set the mood for his excellent guitarwork and vocals. When the show ends with Live and Let Die, they pyrotechnics were amazing. The roar of about 16,000 fans combined with fireworks and blasts of flames in perfect unison was the way to hit a finale. And the 2 encores were a perfect end to a perfect night. If you get a chance to see Paul McCarney, go-just go! Worth the money and then some!

PAUL MCCARTNEY is Out There playing for 3 hours. Yes, that is right! Pauly rocked the sold out show for 3 hours. This is the third time I have had the pleasure of seeing him and have seen many other bands but this was the best show I have ever seen. Not only did he rock out with fab Beatle songs like "Helter Skelter" but he also slowed it down with songs like "The Long And Winding Road". He treated us to some great Wings surprises like "Hi Hi Hi" and "Listen To What The Man Said". He also played some great songs from his latest album "New". I have his concert DVD's and he added many different songs to the mix while still keeping in some of the hoped for favorites.

I don't want to give anything away but there are some awesome surprises music wise awaiting the lucky person who will attend one of his shows.

This is a must see show, the material spanned his entire career. He sounded fantastic and he looks great! To all the ladies out there, you will still swoon when you see him! I did! He was funny and charming. One of the most refreshing things was that you could tell he was having an awesome time and you felt like he wanted to stay and play longer as much as you wanted him to stay and play longer! He really shows his fans that he cares about us as much as we care about him.

A very cool and unexpected event: He brought a couple up onstage who had a sign stating that he was ordained and would he marry them. He did a short little ceremony for them stating that it really wasn't legal but it was awesome! I totally wanted to grab the guy next to me (who I didn't know) and yell "We're next!"

I really think this is a show for anyone who really loves music. Paul was changing his guitar's and bass's out even playing one of his original guitars that he used for Sgt.Peppers. Throwing in an awesome tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Go see him if you get the chance. I would go again tonight if I could!

Beatles legend and Wings mainman, Paul McCartney will remain indelibly etched into the annals of time. The humanitarian, bassist and vocalist has traversed six decades, performing in some of the world's biggest and best venues, at historic moments (Band Aid), and unique moments (who ever pegged Macca as a Nirvana member?!), McCartney is a one-of-a-kind performer, fully deserving his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The 72-year-old Liverpudlian is entirely at ease on stage – he's essentially lived there for the best portion of his life – his catalogue is studded with megaton hits. Bond theme “Live And Let Die” (replete with flamethrowers when performed at festivals), Stevie Wonder duet “Ebony and Ivory”, “Coming Up” and “Jet” are non-Beatles bangers, but he frequently performs legendary cuts like “Let It Be”, “Back In The USSR” and “Hey Jude” at the end of his sets. How thoroughly immense is it watching a genuine Beatle lead a rousing chorus of “Naa naa naa nanananaaaaa?" Though arguably not as elastic as he once was – don't expect too many backflips – he's still a consummate entertainer. His voice has aged, but he still smashes every note, and his fretwork's not diminished a smidgen. It's rare you get to see a legend in the flesh, but grab any chance to witness McCartney, and you'll not regret it.

Paul McCartney. Just let the legend of that name sink in.

I can honestly, without a doubt say that this was the best concert/show I have ever been to (and I have been to numerous concerts).

Not only did he perform his New songs, but he performed all of his hits from The Beatles to The Wings as well. And I am sure he barely hit the top of the iceberg with what he performed considering his incredible library of number 1s and hundreds upon hundreds of songs.

This 72 year old man performed a 3 hour nonstop performance in clouding pyrotechnics, memoriams to his late and great Beatle counterparts, and 3 encores without breaking a sweat.

He may not be able to hold his notes as long as he did when he was younger but he still sounded amazing nonetheless. I was blown away and so happy that I can tell my kids when I am older that I saw one of The Beatles and it was perfect.

I don't think I have ever recommended a concert as highly as I am for Sir Paul. He is a living legend and am honored to have seen him rocking, running all over the place and putting on a great performance at the age of 72.

YOU MUST GO SEE HIM LIVE. It's an experience well worth the money and his tickets start at 25 for far seats but even so, WORTH IT.

BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE!! I can say Even one of the most incredible moments of my life. I know what it means being able to see the legend Sir Paul McCartney live and he fullfill all my expectations and way more! His band is absolutely amazing!

But let me tell you the highlight of my year:

I could only afford the cheapest level tickets but I was more than ok with that since i was going to see my idol, then on my way to our seats with my 2 girlfriends, an angel waiting at the top of the stairs ask us to see our tickets and then offer to change them, we were surprised and maybe thinking it was a scam but then she pulled her envelope with 3 FIRST ROW TICKETS!! Best seat in the arena, she identify herself as part of Sir Paul team, and after many thank yous and hugs we went to see the biggest concert.

Thats why he is the absolutely GREATEST rock star of this planet! Beacuse he truly cares about his audiences, i will never in my wildest dreams tought i was going to see able to be on the first row, besides the wonderful drama of the situation his performance was perfect, spotless, he is full of energy and will be forever grateful to him for such an amazing night.

Sir Paul McCartney concert in Munchen was fabulous (Fab four, Fab one :)). The Olympiastadion was full of happy delighted people who were lucky enough to get a ticket. There were Beatles fans along with Wings and Macca fans from many different countries, young and not so young people, all cheerfully singing the everlasting songs and dancing to our beloved music that defined the lives of many of us. The show went on for full 2 hours and 40 minutes, almost 40 songs from all periods, from late 50's to nowadays hits.

For me, it was a once in a lifetime event. I grew up with Beatles and Paul McCartney music, and I have been waiting for a long time for this. It's been a long time since I bought my first Beatles record, even long time since I bought my last one (not to mention I have all Beatles records plus many of their solo albums :)), and the possibility to see one of my heroes live in concert, it was just a dream come true.

It was worth every single penny spent on concert ticket, air ticket, airport transfers, accomodation for couple of days, and of course whole lotta german beer :)

Long live Sir Paul, long live Beatles, forever live their eternal music!

This is the second time I've seen Paul McCartney in the past few years, and yet again he did NOT disappoint. First of all, he played almost 3 hours both times, so you will get plenty of bang for your buck based on the duration of his show alone. Secondly, considering he is 72 years old, he still nails most of the hard notes and delivers a true, genuine performance while frequently interacting with the audience in between songs. Paul is a very personable character that makes the fans feel appreciated and loved as much as we love him. His show started with a few songs that would be recognizable to the casual fan, it delved off into some less "commonly" known songs and a couple cuts from his new album (which also sounded great), then he closed out the show with MANY huge hits and sing-alongs that definitely left the audience wanting more! The pyrotechnics that kicked in during Live and Let Die were unexpected and amazing! I think he also did three encores as well, and I would definitely return to watch any future shows he does in Kansas City!

I don't need to say how amazing this man is and how happy I am to have attended this show. On "Live and let die" there was even pyrotechnics and fireworks. Paul was telling us stories, singing and joking, I think he switched more than 5 guitars during the show and the evening was just overall beautiful.

The venue was terrible, though.. There was no warning about not bringing the bags and we had to pay 15 Euros to leave the bag before getting in - backpacks were not allowed at all (so they basically forced us to give this money as it was too late to go back to hotel and leave it there). Also the security check was useless.. We were drinking in line to warm up and forgot about empty bottle in the pocket.. Guess what? We were able to bring a GLASS BOTTLE through security check, cause we didn't remember and they never checked.. What if I was a psycho? It's glass after all.

As soon as the legend, Sir Paul McCartney himself took the stage, the magic began! He performed for three solid hours, entertaining the crowd with songs written with the Beatles, with Wings, and on his own. I got teary-eyed when he first came into view, as you don't expect to see a legend, at 72 years old, still performing at the top of his game! Paul McCartney still LOVES what he does! Financially, he doesn't need to perform. He does it because he loves to and because he still can, which is impressive! This concert shall be one of my favorites for a long time - and I've attend many concerts in my lifetime. He came out and did two encores, even running around the stage. He never sat down unless poised at the piano. A legend, a master, a must-see!

From Wikipedia :

Got Back was a North American concert tour by English musician Paul McCartney, that started on 28 April 2022 and ended on 16 June 2022. The tour was McCartney’s first following the COVID-19 pandemic that resulted in the cancellation of a planned European leg of his Freshen Up tour in 2020, which included a planned performance at Glastonbury Festival. McCartney performed at Glastonbury on Saturday 25 June 2022, following the conclusion of the Got Back tour. The setlist for Got Back, as with McCartney’s other concert tours as a solo artist, included songs by his former bands the Beatles and Wings, as well as songs from his solo career. In addition to McCartney, the tour band included Rusty Anderson on guitar, Brian Ray on guitar and bass, Paul “Wix” Wickens on keyboards, and Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums, along with the brass trio Hot City Horns. Originally planned for fourteen stops on the tour, a second date in both Oakland, California, and Boston were later added, for a total of sixteen concerts across the United States. Background The Got Back tour was McCartney’s first series of live shows since 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the cancellation of the final European leg of his previous tour in 2020, which included a planned performance at Glastonbury Festival as the final show. During the pandemic in 2020, McCartney recorded and released his 18th solo album, McCartney III . In 2021, the three-part documentary series The Beatles: Get Back , directed and produced by Peter Jackson, was released on Disney+. The series covers the making of the album Let It Be by McCartney’s former band the Beatles, utilizing footage and audio captured for a 1970 documentary film of the same name. The dates for the Got Back tour were announced on 18 February 2022. The tour was originally planned to have fourteen stops. On 25 February 2022, it was announced that a second concert would be held at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, on 8 June, in addition to the already-announced concert on 7 June. On 11 March, it was then announced that the concert planned for 6 May at Oakland Arena in Oakland, California, would be followed by a second concert in the same venue on 8 May (Mother’s Day), bringing the total number of planned stops on the tour to sixteen. Following the conclusion of the tour, McCartney headlined on Saturday night at the Glastonbury Festival on 25 June, in a 160-minute set, with special guests Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Overview The setlist for the Got Back tour consisted of over 30 songs, including songs by the Beatles and Wings, as well as songs from McCartney’s solo career. Each concert runs for around 2 hours and 40 minutes in length. The pre-show featured a scrolling video slide show of images of McCartney and the Beatles, culminating in an animated image of McCartney’s Höfner bass. The sixth song on the setlist was Wings’ “ Let Me Roll It “, which segued into a snippet of “ Foxy Lady ” as a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. The ninth song on the setlist was “ My Valentine “, a song from McCartney’s solo career, which was accompanied by a video of Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp gesturing in sign language. The 16th song on the setlist, the Beatles’ “ Blackbird “, featured McCartney singing while playing acoustic guitar, elevated about six metres (20 feet) in the air, in front of a large LED display. “Blackbird” was followed by another acoustic performance, “ Here Today “, a song which McCartney wrote about his former Beatles bandmate John Lennon after Lennon’s murder in 1980. The 22nd song on the setlist, the George Harrison-penned “ Something “, began with McCartney playing a ukulele which Harrison gave to him. The 28th song on the setlist, Wings’ “ Live and Let Die “, involved the use of pyrotechnics, including flames and fireworks. The Spokesman-Review and The Dallas Morning News noted the absence of the Beatles song “ Back in the U.S.S.R. “, a usual staple of McCartney’s live concerts, from the setlist, in light of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Immediately preceding the encore at each stop on the tour, McCartney and his fellow band members left the stage and each returned with a flag: the flag of Ukraine, the flag of the United Kingdom, the flag of the United States, and an LGBT pride flag, as well as the state flag of whichever state the concert took place in (for example, the flag of Texas at the show in Fort Worth, Texas, and the flag of Florida at the show in Hollywood, Florida). The encore of the show was composed of the Beatles songs “ I’ve Got a Feeling “, “ Birthday “, “ Helter Skelter “, and “ Golden Slumbers “/” Carry That Weight “/” The End “. “I’ve Got a Feeling” was originally written and sung by McCartney and John Lennon and included on the Let It Be album. The performances of this song during the tour included a “video duet” between McCartney and Lennon, using footage restored for the Get Back documentary of Lennon performing the song with the Beatles during their 1969 rooftop concert. Jackson had isolated the vocals of Lennon after conceiving the idea of having Lennon “sing” along with McCartney and his live band; he told McCartney, “We can extract John’s voice, and he can sing with you,” to which McCartney replied, “Oh, yeah!” On the final stop of the tour, on 16 June at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, McCartney was joined on stage during the concert by New Jersey-born musicians Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. Springsteen, with McCartney and McCartney’s band, performed the Springsteen song “ Glory Days “, as well as the Beatles’ “ I Wanna Be Your Man “. During the show’s encore, Bon Jovi appeared on stage with balloons and sang “Happy Birthday” to McCartney, who turned 80 years old on 18 June. Springsteen returned during the final song, “The End”, playing guitar. Reception Reviewing the 13 May concert held at Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium, Chris Willman of Variety commended McCartney’s singing voice and made note of the show’s structure: “a rocking opening stretch highly reliant on ’70s rockers […] a partially acoustic, ‘Storytellers’-like magical history tour of the Beatles’ rise as the backbone of Act 2, […] and then, letting the third hour be birthday songs, na-na-na-na-na-na-na-ing and Abbey Road medley-izing. That structure indisputably works, and so, as part of a winning formula, does a band that has now been together for many more years than the Beatles ever were”. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The Charlotte Observer ‘s Théoden Janes, reviewing the 21 May concert at Truist Field at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, praised the show, calling the setlist “thoughtfully curated” and writing that “the entire night was one big nonstop highlight”. However, they suggested that the production “skip the music video that plays during ‘My Valentine,'” stating, “We want to think about someone we love during that song. Not about Depp and Amber Heard”; they also criticized the heavy traffic around the stadium and the management of it by stadium officials and local police. Grant Albert of the Miami New Times , in a review of the 25 May concert held at Hollywood, Florida’s Hard Rock Live, wrote that McCartney “can’t hit the high notes like he used to. Still, his 60-plus year discography, showmanship, and influence didn’t stop the nearly 7,000 attendees from enjoying the rock polymath perform”; he added, “McCartney injected loads of humor, visuals, lasers, and a genuine intention to put on a good show”. Reviewing the 7 June concert at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, Marc Hirsch of the Boston Herald noted “some small noticeable vulnerabilities from age” in McCartney’s singing voice, “But it otherwise maintained its essential McCartneyness”. Hirsh also wrote, “Eleven days shy of turning 80, he was spry and up for the endurance challenge of playing upward of 30 songs over the course of two hours and 40 minutes at the first of two sold-out shows.” […]
McCartney also wants to go back on the road, a life that he finds invigorating. “ I’ve been doing this for a long time, ” he said. “ So another me takes over: Professional Performing Paul—the triple ‘P’! ” If the question is “ Why do you keep at it?, ” the answer is plain: “ I plan to continue living. That’s the central idea. ” From Paul McCartney Doesn’t Really Want to Stop the Show  | The New Yorker , October 11, 2021
W hen you come back after three years you get a bit more nervous than you normally would, because you’re just thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, have I forgotten how it goes?’ It takes a little while until you start to think, ‘Oh yeah, I’ve got this!’ and then your nerves go away. From PaulMcCartney.com , February 18, 2022:

PAUL ANNOUNCES  GOT BACK  NORTH AMERICAN TOUR 2022 FIRST LIVE SHOWS SINCE 2019 […] Following more than a year of speculation, Paul McCartney today announces the GOT BACK Tour,  a 13-city return to U.S. stages, kicking off April 28 with Paul’s first ever show in Spokane WA and running through to June 16 in East Rutherford NJ, where Paul will play MetLife Stadium for the first time since 2016. GOT BACK will see Paul’s live debuts in Hollywood FL, Knoxville TN and Winston-Salem NC, his first Fort Worth TX and Baltimore MD shows since 1976 with Wings and 1964 with The Beatles, respectively, and his first Oakland CA date in 20 years. The tour will also include stops in cities where Paul has put in more recent yet no less unforgettable performances, including Boston MA, Los Angeles CA, Orlando FL, Seattle WA, and Syracuse NY.  GOT BACK  marks Paul’s first series of live shows since his  FRESHEN UP   Tour wrapped in July 2019–its 39-date 12-country odyssey concluding with a triumphant sold-out show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles—a performance that instantly attained legendary status, generating rave reviews and Best of 2019 notices including: “… Wow. After several decades now of writing about music and facing the perpetual challenge of translating what is beyond words into understandable language, that’s the best I can muster. Here in the heady aftermath of Paul McCartney’s final show of his Freshen Up tour at Dodger Stadium along with 50,000 of my fellow Angelenos on July 13, 2019 — Wow.” —AMERICAN SONGWRITER “The perfect display of the philosophy McCartney has embodied over his 60-year career in music… the perfect bow to tie up the perfect show, with the final lyric of the night an ever-appropriate one: ‘And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.’” —BILLBOARD “Macca continues to put artists half his age and younger to shame with epic shows featuring his crackerjack band and a jukebox of hits” —ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY Best Live Music Performances of 2019 “The best thing about a McCartney show is how many generations of people leave with the broadest smile upon their face. Whether it’s the first time they’ve seen him or the tenth, he never, ever, disappoints.” —FLAUNT “McCartney was in top form, his voice effortlessly climbing to the heights it always hit so easily back in the day…”  —THE LOS ANGELES TIMES “The total and complete immersion into MaccaLand was colorful and loud, rocking and rolling, nostalgic and present, and, above all, in the truest sense, marvelous… And, in the end, the love McCartney has taken for 60 years was equal to the love he’s made for generations.” —RELIX “Definitely We’re Amazed by Paul McCartney’s Blowout Dodger Stadium Show… McCartney remains a show-stopping entertainer of the highest order.” —VARIETY With songs like ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’,  ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: Hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music — dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.  Paul and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations throughout the Americas, the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and all points between: outside the Coliseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House, a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival and a jam-packed club gig  for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, and even one performance broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.

The highlight of this new tour is a virtual duet Paul McCartney has with his old mate John Lennon, singing “ I’ve Got A Feeling “, using footage from the rooftop concert.

How does it feel to know that as recently as a few days ago, Paul McCartney was using footage from the documentary on his Got Back tour? Jabez Olssen: We helped them with that and we put that together for him. That’s fantastic. We’ve been watching some clips on YouTube and it’s just amazing to see Paul being able to sing “I’ve Got A Feeling” with John Lennon. That was possible because of the machine learning and artificial intelligence software that had been developed down here by the team to clean up the audio. We had a lot of audio that was otherwise going to be unusable because there was no clarity to the dialogue. You couldn’t hear what was being said because of all the guitars playing over the top of it or tuning or background noise. This new software has been developed — this artificial intelligence software — that’s able to recognize the different Beatles voices and instruments and separate them out into their own standalone tracks, and thus we could get a lot more usable audio for the documentary. The same software is now being used for Paul’s concert to remove all the other Beatles off the audio so it’s only John Lennon live singing, and then that can be played on the screen behind Paul as he sings his part live. That’s just a thrill to see that it’s all come together and it’s working. Paul McCartney has embarked on his first full tour in over two years. The rock legend's last documented performance was on 2019's Freshen Up Tour at Dodger Stadium . McCartney's current run is set to run through June 16 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. For a complete list of upcoming tour dates and ticket info, visit his official website here .

Paul McCartney's Got Back Tour kickoff setlist at Spokane Arena in Washington kicked off with "Can't Buy Me Love." The career-spanning setlist included "Getting Better" and "You Never Give Me Your Money" performed for the first time since 2003. "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" from The Beatles' iconic eleventh studio album Abbey Road was performed by McCartney for the first time since 2008.

The performance included a 6-song encore of just Beatles songs that opened with "I've Got a Feeling." This was a special experience because John Lennon's vocals had been extracted from the Get Back concert film - so he was able to sing "with" Paul, live. See the performance (Lennon comes in at 2:10) and read more about it on JamBase .

Paul McCartney announces South America leg of 2024 ‘Got Back’ tour

After cryptically teasing it, Paul McCartney and Co. will resume the “Got Back” tour in 2024 with a leg in South America.

In a social media post, Paul McCartney unveiled his 2024 South America tour plans. A live recording of the Beatles’ “Get Back,” which inspired McCartney’s tour name, plays in the background of a montage of the tour’s past shows.

“Paul will bring his acclaimed ‘Got Back’ tour to South America later this year, with shows in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Peru 🌎,” the post’s caption read.

Five shows were announced for the tour that will visit Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Presales will take place on Friday, June 14.

Per McCartney’s official website announcement , these shows will mark his first shows in the various countries in years. For example, he hasn’t played in Montevideo since 2014 and Bueno Aires since 2019. He also hasn’t been in Córdoba in eight years, Santiago in five years, and Lima in 10 years.

Paul McCartney 2024 “Got Back” tour dates

  • October 1: Estadio Centenario, Montevideo, Uruguay
  • October 5: River Plate Stadium, Bueno Aires, Argentina
  • October 11: Estadio Monumental, Santiago, Chile
  • October 23: Mario Alberto Kempes, Córdoba, Argentina
  • October 27: Estadio Nacional, Lima, Peru

The “Got Back” tour

Beginning in April 2022, McCartney and his touring band kicked off the “Got Back” tour. He commenced the tour with a show in Spokane, Washington. He then played 15 more shows across North America before headlining the 2022 Glastonbury Festival.

In 2023, McCartney picked up the tour again with shows in Mexico and Brazil. This second leg of shows concluded on December 16, 2023.

The touring band consists of McCartney, Rusty Anderson, Brian Ray, Paul “Wix” Wickens, and Abe Laboriel Jr. They have been with McCartney since his 2002 tour, the “Driving Rain” tour. Additionally, McCartney tours with members of the Hot City Horns, Mike Davis, Kenji Fenton, and Paul Burton.

As for the setlist, McCartney takes fans on a three-hour journey through his discography. These include hits from his time with the Beatles and Wings. He also plays solo hits such as “Maybe I’m Amazed” and “Dance Tonight.”

Who is Paul McCartney?

Paul McCartney is best known for his time with the Beatles. While together, the Beatles released 13 studio albums from 1960-70.

After they broke up, McCartney instantly dove back into writing music. He released his first self-titled studio album, McCartney, in 1970. The following year, McCartney recorded Ram with his wife Linda as well as Wild Life with Wings.

As a band, Wings released seven studio albums. Coming up, McCartney will release the band’s live studio album, One Hand Clapping. Some of Wings’ biggest hits include “Band on the Run,” “Jet,” and “Silly Love Songs.”

After Wings broke up, McCartney got back into writing solo material. In 1980, he released McCartney II (which wouldn’t be followed-up with until 2020).

From then on, McCartney continued to release new music. Some of his notable albums include Tug of War, Flowers in the Dirt, New, and Egypt Station. McCartney III was released in 2020 and closed out his trilogy of self-titled albums.

Since 1989, McCartney has also been a touring machine. He embarked on his first solo tour in 1989. In 2002, he introduced a new touring band that he is still playing with to this day.

Paul McCartney, Cate Blanchett and Jon Bon Jovi watch Taylor Swift's Eras Tour from VIP tent

will paul mccartney tour this year

Paul McCartney stepped out Sunday night to support longtime friend Taylor Swift on night three of her Eras Tour shows in London.

Fans caught video of The Beatles singer walking to the VIP floor tent before the "Bejeweled" star took the stage. Donning a black suit, McCartney could be seen excitedly clapping, showing off a wrist full of bracelets and acknowledging the Swifts in attendance.

After a weekend full of surprise A-list appearances, London may officially be the most star-studded Eras Tour stop to date.

On Friday, Prince William celebrated his 42nd birthday with his children Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 9. According to a selfie shared on social media, the trio met with Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce before the show.

Joining the Kansas City tight end in the VIP tent on Friday was his brother Jason, sister-in-law Kylie, "Queer Eye" star Jonathan van Ness and "Bridgerton" actress Nicola Coughlan .

On Saturday, actors Tom Cruise , Liam Hemsworth, Hugh Grant, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher and director Greta Gerwig were seen dancing to "Shake It Off."

On Sunday, McCartney was joined by Sophie Turner, Gracie Abrams , Ellie Goulding, Cate Blanchett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Andrew Scott and Jon Bon Jovi.

During her show Sunday , Swift complimented the magnitude of her third performance in the British capital during her "Lover" monologue.

"I have my ways of telling, before I even hit the stage, what kind of crowd I'm walking out to see," she said swaying her pink guitar.

The singer-songwriter added she sends her parents out before the show to serve as spies and they report back on the crowd's energy.

"I've got to tell you my dad bursts into the dressing room," she laughed. "Bursts in! He's like, 'Hey, you don't understand. You don't get it. Night one was crazy. It was here. Night two is up here. Night three it's off the charts Tay.'"

The last time Swift and McCartney were publicly spotted together was in a Super Bowl 58 suite when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers.

The two have been friends for years. In 2020, Swift interviewed McCartney for a "Rolling Stone" series called "Musicians on Musicians."

Taylor Swift Says Her Band ‘Plays Live for Three and a Half Hours,’ in Seeming Clapback to Dave Grohl’s Shadiness

Taylor Swift may not ever get around to responding directly to Dave Grohl ‘s controversial weekend jibe. But it sounds as if she’s already had her say, offering what is being taken by some fans as a subtle, subtweeting retort to his joking contention that Foo Fighters concerts consist of live music and the Eras Tour does not.

Somewhat buried in her very newsworthy Sunday night show at London’s Wembley Stadium was a passing remark in which she noted that her band “is playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight.”

Grohl created a firestorm when he made what amounted to a dad joke during Foo Fighters’ concert in London Saturday, which was up against the second of Swift’s three Wembley shows this past weekend.

“I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” Grohl said in front of Saturday’s crowd at London Stadium. “So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few fucking errors as well. Just a couple. That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying.”

Public reactions to Grohl’s diss have largely been negative, even in circles that might normally skew toward the rockist side of things. The dig at the biggest star in music made international headlines, perhaps far and away beyond what he intended, but so far Grohl — who has praised Swift going farther back int he past — hasn’t made any followup comment to explain himself.

Attention to Swift’s remark on stage Sunday only began to grow on Monday, with the oxygen previously having been sucked up by less subtle moments in her Wembley show, like guest appearances by Travis Kelce and Gracie Abrams and the presence of a dancing Paul McCartney in the audience.

Back in 2016, Grohl showed a much more charitable side toward Swift, telling the story of how she saved him from embarrassment at a McCartney party. As he relayed the story, McCartney “started playing this song and he’s blowing everyone’s mind… He finishes, and everyone looks at me, and they’re like, ‘Go on, Dave, play a song!’  I’m like, ‘I don’t know how to play piano.’ I look around and all the guitars are left-handed. I’m screwed… I’d maybe smoked a little pot – so I was already ‘challenged.’” Then Swift stepped in at the party and asked to play a song, leading him to think, “I know this song. What the hell is this? And she was playing ‘Best of You.’ As if I weren’t high enough — that blew me into outer space! Taylor Swift, ‘Best Of You,’ Paul McCartney… I lost my mind.”
