As the pound for pound industry leader in performance and innovation, Tour Edge’s new E723 range boasts incredible features, each designed to help players dramatically improve their game.

The Exotics E723 Driver is engineered with a flight tuning system which produces a 5600 g/cm2 MOI, making it the highest MOI driver Tour Edge has ever produced. This leads to increased stability at impact and tighter dispersion for players.

Likewise, the Exotics E723 Fairway includes RyzerSole Technology which produces a super-low CG for high launching shots with optimized spin rates, decreased turf interaction and maximum ball speed off the face.

Tour Edge Exotics Pro 723 Irons

Description.

This slightly larger forged cavity-back iron came about via tour feedback asking for player-shaped forgiveness. The ultra-premium Pro 723 Forged irons are CNC milled to precise tolerances and the face grooves designed to maximize performance throughout the set is also CNC milled to offer the thinnest face possible without sacrificing feel.

Player Shaped Forgiveness - A slightly larger forged cavity design based on tour player feedback. The larger CNC milled cavity allowed Tour Edge engineers to move critical weight behind the center of the face and to the lower portion of the head for maximum forgiveness while maintaining a thin top line and classic look at address.

Meticulous Machining Process - Every iron head spends over an hour being CNC milled to exacting tolerances. After the forging process, the faces are CNC milled to precise tolerances and the face grooves are designed to maximize performance throughout the set. The heel and toe pockets in the cavity are also CNC milled to offer the thinnest face possible without sacrificing feel.

VIBRCOR Filled Cavity - A VIBRCOR TPU badge located inside the cavity. The VIBRCOR dampens shock and provides a buttery muscle-back feel while aiding perimeter weighting and overall forgiveness.

Center Cavity Pad - A thick pad of extra steel in the center of the cavity behind the face. The added weight in the center of the cavity allows for center hits to have greater power. It also allows the heel and toe pockets of the cavity to be precision milled as thin as possible to provide maximum forgiveness and feel on off-center contact.

Tour Edge Exotics C721 Hybrid

LIGHTWEIGHT CARBON CROWN

What is it?

TE engineers replaced steel from the crown with a 100% carbon fiber crown in this hybrid design.

What does it do?

The use of an all-Carbon crown saves considerable weight.  This weight savings is then moved to the ideal location to help with creating the optimal CG location.  The C721 hybrid has a low-rearward CG position that produces an extremely high M.O.I. to increase stability at impact.

This is the first Exotics hybrid to ever feature Carbon Fiber on the crown.

DIAMOND FACE 2.0

Diamond Face 2.0 is made up of diamond shapes of variable thickness behind the face.  There are 41 total diamond shapes featured on Diamond Face 2.0, comprising seven different thicknesses in an interweaving pattern. This compares to the three different thicknesses used on the initial Diamond Face design.

Face thickness of Diamond Face 2.0 at the extreme perimeters of the face is also reduced by 20%.

The mini trampolines that make-up Diamond Face 2.0 create faster ball speeds and an expanded sweet spot.

The increase in Diamond Face 2.0 coverage to the extreme heel and toe dramatically increases ball speed and forgiveness on off-center hits.

HYPER-STEEL

What is it? A new lighter and stronger 450-Hyper-Steel Face construction is used on the 721 hybrid.

Our new face creates amazing feel and a powerful rebound for more ball speed.

REAR BACKWEIGHT

A 5-gram adjustable back weight is located at the extreme rear of the clubhead.

The position of the backweight helps deliver an optimally located CG, maximizing M.O.I. and aiding extreme stability and resistance to twisting at impact.

Installation of different weights also allows dialing in of required swing weights at custom lengths.

Additional weights available in 10 grams and 15 grams.

SOUND DIFFUSION PANELS

Sound Diffusion Panels are strategically-placed panels located inside the club.

What do they do?

These Panels vastly improve the acoustic properties of the driver by directing and diffusing sound waves within the club head on impact.  This enhances the richness of the sound produced.

Working in concert with the Sound Diffusion Panels, inherent design aspects of Ridgeback and the wrap around Carbon Wings all work together to orchestrate the 721 driver’s industry-leading sound and feel.

The shaft make-up in the 721 Series is unique to the industry. We tested an extensive range of market-leading shafts with our Tour Edge Development robot to find the the best-performing custom shafts for every swing speed.

Tour Edge Exotics E722 Iron Review

Tour Edge clubs tend to offer great value for money - these irons are no exception. Quality comes shining through in the E722. For higher handicappers seeking something beyond a starter set, these irons make a no-brainer purchase.

Scott Kramer

This large muscle cavity back appears to be for mid-to-high handicappers, due to its thick top line and noticeable offset. It also has a higher launch profile and expanded sweet spot than its sister C722 iron. Thus, the company calls it an extreme distance and forgiveness game-improvement iron that’s loaded with technology. Much like the Tour Edge Exotics E722 drive r, this is the more forgiving iron in the Exotics range.

That starts with Vibrcor, a high-grade TPU that’s strategically placed in the deep 360-degree undercut pocket to induce ball speed, enhance feel, dampen sound and shock, and create perimeter weighting around the entire clubhead for maximum forgiveness and power. Simultaneously, Diamond Face VFT (variable face thickness) technology spans the clubface, meaning 103 different diamond shapes behind the face function as mini trampolines to create faster ball speeds and expand the sweet spot all the way to the edges.

The sole of the Tour Edge Exotics E722 iron

We deliberately tested this by making impact on the heel, toe, low and high – and can confirm shots still seemed to travel close to where intended on the misses without any severe consequences. The heads also sport dual toe weighting high on the toe in the rear and in a toe weighting pocket. That elongates the sweet spot to raise MOI and position CG directly behind the center face.

Finally, the heads are lofted strongly – making for a long-distance design that gives you the length but with the same apex height you expect from any given iron. We tried the irons only with steel shafts, and found the feel and performance to be competitive. Ball flight was generally as you would expect with steel – nice and straight. The standard grips – made by Lamkin – also felt nice in the hands. And consistency was also pleasant – with no fliers or ballooned shots during our testing. For what it’s worth, we thought the shorter irons carried the ball very well and performed slightly better for their respective lofts than the longer ones. But we’d be perfectly happy playing the entire set.

The face of the Tour Edge Exotics E722 iron

As we’ve often said about Tour Edge, you get quality clubs with outstanding value. These irons are no exception. Exotics is the brand’s top-line model and this comes shining through in the quality of the E722. For higher handicappers seeking something beyond a starter set, these irons make a no-brainer purchase.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Hybrid Review

More in reviews:.

Rain or Shine SwingNet Pro Golf Net

50 Words or Less

The Tour Edge Exotics C722 hybrid continues their line of outstanding players hybrids.  Great look, plenty of ball speed, and strong forgiveness for its size.

Check out the new Tour Edge Exotics C723 hybrid HERE

tour edge exotics uk

Introduction

The longest-tenured club in my bag is my hybrid [full WITB HERE ].  It’s a Tour Edge Exotics CBX 119 that’s survived countless challenges.  The hybrids that have come closest to knocking it out have come, unsurprisingly, from Tour Edge Exotics.  Can their latest players hybrid, the C722, finally knock out the champ?  I tested one to find out.

tour edge exotics uk

I’m a sucker for a beautiful players hybrid, so when I look at the Tour Edge Exotics C722, all I hear is, “Bag me!”  This club is very compact – thin from front-to-back and moderate from heel-to-toe.  The compact head makes the face look tall, though it’s no taller than the E722 hybrid.  While the shape is more symmetrical than pear, the face is squared off at the toe .

tour edge exotics uk

As you can see, the C722 hybrid is a stark departure from the E722 .  Not only is it much smaller, it has a plain, gloss black crown instead of the carbon fiber of the E722.  As I said in my review of the E722 hybrid [find it HERE ], I love that TEE made two clubs that are so different.  With the hybrid market growing to cover so many specialties, it’s great to see TEE covering multiple bases.

Sound & Feel

Another way in which the C722 hybrid is distinct from the E722 is in the impact sound.  The C722 has a higher pitched “tink” that’s closer to a fairway wood than an iron.  There’s a slight disconnect between the sound and feel , as my hands get a sensation that’s more strong and solid than thin and quick.

Feedback is clear and precise through both your hands and ears.  Mishits have a dissonant audio character and feel slightly unpleasant.  Even without much concentration, I could feel the impact location precisely with the C722.

tour edge exotics uk

Performance

As we move into performance, the E722 and C722 hybrids continue to show their unique personalities, but there is some overlap.  What they share is strong forgiveness and a refusal to go into that low spin range that will have your approaches running through greens.  But that is where the similarities end.

As you might expect from the much smaller head, the C722 is not as forgiving as the E722 .  Both are very fast on centered strikes, but the ball speed drops off more quickly with the C722.  Again, the forgiveness of the C722 is quite good for its size, but it doesn’t compare to the E722.

tour edge exotics uk

Additionally, the C722 hybrid launches lower and spins less than the E722.  The Ryzersole keeps the launch very consistent even if you hit it thin, but it’s not automatically putting the ball on soaring trajectories like the E722.  Due to the lower spin, the C722 has more distance potential, especially for the lower handicap player, but that comes with a lower floor due to the drop in forgiveness.  You need to bring a quality strike and some speed to maximize this club.

A final key difference between the two new TEE hybrids is the adjustability in the C722.  At the hosel, you can turn the loft up or down 1.5 degrees .  This will change the face angle, too.  You can also adjust the lie angle between 58 and 61 degrees.  Both models have adjustable sole weights, but the C722 positions the weight closer to the face for lower spin.

tour edge exotics uk

Tour Edge Exotics continues to be among the industry leaders when it comes to shaft choice and helping players pick the right shaft.  The E722 hybrid is offered with the KBS TGI Tour Graphite and the Fujikura Ventus Blue in four and three different weights, respectively.  Players who want a heavier shaft can opt of the Mitsubishi TENSEI White.  Golfers can use TEE’s SpeedTested recommendations to choose the best shaft based on their swing speed.

tour edge exotics uk

With each generation, Tour Edge Exotics tweaks their winning players hybrid formula to make it even more impressive.  The C722 hybrid has the look and massive shot making potential that skilled players want.

But will it replace your gamer???

' src=

Probably not. Meeker and I discussed here – https://pluggedingolf.com/podcast-episode-136-when-to-replace-your-clubs/ – that it’s tough for us to change clubs because the stuff we have is very dialed in. If I used my hybrid more, I might be more apt to go through the effort of making the change, but for now I’m happy enough with what I have.

' src=

Is there a review of their new driving iron coming soon?

We plan to do a review, but probably not until May or June.

' src=

Matt, I am in the same boat with 1 club and it is my 20-22deg hybrid. You said your longstanding was Tour Edge Exotics CBX 119, for me its the Ping i25 hybrid. I try new ones every year and I have swapped out my drier, 3 wood and 2 hybrid but not this 3/4 hybrid. I don’t play a 5 wood but a 17degree 2 hybrid instead more of the tee. The i25 22deg I use as a 4iron replacement for hitting into greens and not many makers make a small compact head and thus far I haven’t replaced the i25. Its so easy to work and especially in the rough I can work a draw or hook out of trouble with no issue. I am curious to try this given its size. I just need to see if a pga store near me carries one. I will put it to the test.

Matt, I just read your review no the other hybrid I was interested in being the Pro C721. How do you differ the two, 721 vs 722. Taking out the adjustability of the 722 and having them in same neutral setting and loft it reads like the 721 would spin slightly more. I am looking for my trust i25 22deg replacement for hitting into green and am now leaning towards the C721. Any thoughts?

My recollection is that the C722 will be more forgiving. That and the different adjustability are the biggest differences I remember.

' src=

Trying to decide on rather to get the C721 or the C722 (#3) hybrid. I’m wanting to get more left and distance. I currently use an older Cobra 3 wood and can’t seem to get the distance or loft I use to get. Not sure which shaft would be best either.

Our advice is always to get fit or minimally to try before you buy. Both versions are great, and great values, so it’s unlikely you’ll be disappointed either way.

Launch Monitor Tested: Tour Edge Exotics Wingman Wedge Review

Published: 30 October 2023 Last updated: 25 March 2024

The sole shaping of the Tour Edge Wingman wedges

The sole shaping of the Tour Edge Wingman wedges

At a glance

  • TG Rating 4 out of 5
  • Owner Rating Not yet rated
  • These are very keenly priced, but tech-laden forged wedges.
  • There's plenty of fitting opportunity to ensure you get the perfect wedge setup for your game.
  • I really like the leading-edge shape.
  • You will need to like or accept the offset look.
  • RRP £139.00

What we say...

The forged tour edge wingman wedge offers golfers constant offset, to help keep hands ahead of the leading edge. the idea promotes a downward strike which eliminates poor contact and inefficient wedge play. .

Forged wedges are pretty rare today, even rarer are forged wedges designed with input from Bernhard Langer. Langer is one of the best wedge players on tour, he has racked up 12 PGA Champions Tour wins since turning 60, yet the European Ryder Cup legend has found time to help design the new Tour Edge Wingman wedges.

In the UK, Tour Edge equipment is only available from American Golf’s national network of stores, but if you’re looking for high-performance, good value for money wedges any time soon the Wingman, which are £139.99 a pop, are well worth seeking out.

The back and face milling of the Tour Edge Wingman wedge

The key feature is 3mm of constant offset, which Langer feels is really important in helping amateurs and tour pros strike down on the ball and keep their hands ahead of the leading edge. Which, will help increase your wedge play consistency.

“I’m always looking for a forged wedge with the right amount of offset, and eventually started to ask the R&D team at Tour Edge what they thought they could come up with,” said Langer.  Adding “What came back astounded me. I put a prototype in play the week I tested them because the design was easier to hit and far more consistent than my other wedges.”

Everything you need to know about Tour Edge Wingman wedges

Expect a forged feel.

Unlike a lot of modern-day wedges, the Wingman have forged heads. To ensure golfers get maximum perimeter weighting along with great sound and feel, pockets are machined low into the blade and sole. Each pocket is filled with a lightweight TPU (Vibrcor) so you get forgiveness and great impact feedback.

We all need a Wingman

The mass that’s removed from low in the blade is repositioned higher, creating a modern ‘Winged’ weight pad that ups MOI. Tour Edge says golfers should expect a slightly lower, higher spinning ball flight, which along with the additional offset enhances control and accuracy.

The faces and sole bounce of the three different Wingman grinds

Maximum spin with additional fitting opportunities

Every new wedge boasts of offering golfers maximum spin, but I really like Tour Edge’s Triple-Traction approach to stopping power. If you’re looking for the highest spin wedge available you’ll like how the sole grind, face, and grooves of each head are CNC Milled. There are also additional micro-grooves in between each face scoring, and further machine marks on the toe.

So, no matter where shots hit the face you’re guaranteed maximum traction and control. A 10% larger striking face also helps maximize spin no matter what conditions you’re playing from or in.

Each head also comes with a 5g backweight, which can be changed to give you the feel and weight balance (from 2.5g to 7.5g, 10g, and 12.5) you either prefer or need for swing weighting with an alternative shaft.

It’s a touch I really like, and something you don’t get from many wedge brands (only the PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy II offers something similar, but they cost an arm and a leg), it’s certainly something I wasn’t expecting from a wedge that sells for less than $140 or £140.

A graphic to so the shaping of the three different Wingman sole grinds

Sole Grind explanation

To ensure there are options for all golfers and turf/sand types there are three different Wingman sole grinds to choose between.

Tour Edge says the F/S Grind is for firm-ground players who typically have a tendency to sweep shots off the turf and take smaller, less deep divots (this set-up comes with 6° or 8° of Bounce).

The M/N Grind is for players who often play from mid to firm ground or a variety of surfaces that will benefit from a more neutral, less dig-orientated sole setup (the M/N grind comes with 10° Bounce).

And finally, the S/D Grind is for golfers who often play from softer ground and players who have more of a tendency to dig wedges deeper into the turf. Possibly too those who are prone to hitting wedge shots fat (expect 12° or 14° Bounce on this model).

Verdict: Tour Edge Exotics Wingman Wedge

I’m always on the lookout for good value-for-money golf club options and in 2024 the new Tour Edge Wingman fits that bill perfectly in the wedge market. In the UK Tour Edge can only be bought from American Golf, where the company’s equipment is much more widely available throughout the USA.

The company’s focus has always been on bringing to market good performance equipment that’s built using solid, reliable components for reasonable prices, and the Wingman utterly delivers on its brief.

I love that the heads have been designed in conjunction with Bernhard Langer and unlike most modern wedges it’s forged not cast. Interestingly Langer likes to see offset in his wedges (a feature Nick Faldo looked for in his pomp) as he feels it helps encourage hitting down on the ball and promotes keeping the hands ahead of the leading edge, which he believes helps improve consistency.

A close up of how the Tour Edge Wingman Wedge looks at address

Irrespective of why the Wingman is designed this way there is zero doubt in mind this model represents excellent value for money. To my eye, the constant offset heads, which positions the leading edge slightly further back and more in line with the hosel give the impression it’s easy to hit down onto the ball and slip the head under the ball for shorter more delicate approaches. I also loved the impact feel, sound, and feedback too.

At 7982 RPM our test data has the Wingman down as our fifth-highest spinning wedge in 2024, the backspin drop-off was also smaller than our test average. Golfers should then expect good shot-to-shot spin consistency out on the golf course.

Before you get too carried and order online make sure you take a look at the heads in the real world. The offset does give a slightly different appearance at address, but to me, it’s not distracting at all, which means the Wingman is a steal at $139/£139 in 2024.
