This weekend the PDC Nordic & Baltic held the third tournament weekend in the season of 2023 on the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour in darts and the weekend were held in Iceland. Marko Kantele , who lives in Vääksy, won his third tournament of the season, as he won the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 6. Along his way to the final, he beat countryman Paavo Myller in the quarterfinals. Paavo Myller recently made his debut on the European Tour.

In the semifinal, he was up against Danish Benjamin Drue Reus , who was one of the best players this weekend according to his average. However, Marko Kantele was too strong for the Dane and won the match by 6-5, despite being down by 4-1 in the match.

In the final, he faced Jeffrey de Graaf who secured himself Swedish citizenship before this season. The Swede, who is originally from the Netherlands, is a former Tour Card Holder at the PDC. So it was a fairly good player Marko Kantele had to beat to get the title.
However, Marko Kantele had already beaten Jeffrey de Graaf in the final of the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 1 – and just like in that final, Marko Kantele once again won by 6-1.

The weekend in Iceland consisted of two Pro Tours and three qualifiers for the European Tour. Earlier this season Marko Kantele has also won two of the European qualifiers, and this weekend he won one more, meaning he will be going to the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen, which is the 9th European Tour this season.

At the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 5, Marko Kantele managed to reach the top 16, meaning this weekend secured him yet another 1325 euros for the rankings. In total Marko Kantele has 4050 points on the rankings, which puts him number one on the rankings. Number two, Swedish Daniel Larsson, has 2375 points.

When the season is over, and all ten Nordic and Baltic Pro Tours has been played, top two on the rankings, will qualify for the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in London in December.

The next Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour weekend will be in Finland in June.

Calendar for PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour 2024 announced

The calendar for the PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour 2024 has been announced. Ten Pro Tour tournaments will be played in five different countries from February through August 2024.

The 2024 PDC Nordic & Baltic season begins Feb. 16 to 18 in the Latvian capital Riga, where the first two Pro Tour tournaments will take place, as well as three Euro Tour qualifying tournaments.

The second weekend will then take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, from April 14 to 17. Then two Pro Tours and four Euro Tour qualifiers will be completed. This will be followed by trips to Finland and Denmark, before the season concludes in Iceland's capital Reykjavik on Aug. 24-25.

After the sixth tournament, the top two players from each country will receive an invitation to participate in the 2024 World Cup of Darts. The top two ranked players after ten tournaments will be allowed to compete in the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.

ET9-10 Seeds & Tour Card Holder qualifier entries confirmed

Player entries for European Tour Events 9-10 have been confirmed ahead of next week's Tour Card Holder Qualifiers in Hildesheim.

The 2024 PDC European Tour has already seen seven events take place, with Luke Littler claiming a brace of titles, and Luke Humphries, Martin Schindler, Gary Anderson, Rob Cross and Josh Rock also celebrating victories.

The NEO.bet German Darts Championship (ET9) will take place in Hildesheim from August 30-September 1, while the inaugural staging of the Flanders Darts Trophy (ET10) will be held in Antwerp from September 6-8.

In a change to the qualifying format from previous years, the top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit now qualify by right for each event.

They will be joined by the top 16 non-qualified players from the ProTour Order of Merit at the entry deadline.

Each event will see the top 16 players from the ProTour Order of Merit seeded for the draw, entering in the second round, with the remaining 32 players drawn at random in the first round.

Invited players who are exempted to the last 32 and lose in their first match of the event shall not be credited with prize money on the Order of Merit, ProTour Order of Merit or European Tour Order of Merit, however they shall still receive full prize money payment.

The 16 seeded players for the NEO.bet German Darts Championship (ET9) and Flanders Darts Trophy (ET10) have been confirmed and are listed below.

The Tour Card Holder Qualifiers for ET9 and ET10 will take place at Halle 39 in Hildesheim on Thursday June 13, with entries also listed below.

Ten players will come through each Tour Card Holder Qualifier, while the 48-player fields on the European Tour will feature four Host Nation Qualifiers, a Nordic & Baltic Qualifier and an East Europe Qualifier.
