Marsha Ambrosius Talks New Album 'Casablanco': 'An Avalanche of Music'

See latest videos, charts and news

The announcement photo may look familiar to fans, as she donned the same glittery attire on the cover of her seventh studio album. Bey also added “Renaissance World Tour” on her Instagram bio, further accenting the news. Last week, Beyonce performed a full concert for the first time in four years at a luxury resort in Dubai in front of influencers and journalists. The 19-song set included a collaboration with her oldest daughter Blue Ivy as the two performed “Brown Skin Girl,” which earned them a Grammy two years ago for best music video.

Crowned a triumphant win by music lovers, Renaissance stormed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year and rattled off two Hot 100 top 10 hits, including her chart-topper “Break My Soul.” The dance-centric album also notched nine Grammy nominations, the most for any nominee for this year’s ceremony. Bey is looking to rack up more trophy wins, as she currently sits at a staggering 28 wins. Nominated for album of the year, song, and record of the year, Bey is facing some stout competition , especially in the former. The R&B juggernaut will tango against Adele, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and more for album of the year. A win in this category would serve as Beyonce’s first. The 65th Grammy Awards will occur Sunday night in Los Angeles at 8 pm EST.

Beyoncé delights New Orleans fans on Renaissance Tour

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Global superstar Beyoncé graced the stage at Caesar’s Superdome on Wed., Sept. 27 as her Renaissance Tour neared its end.

The highly-anticipated event kicked off around 9:30 p.m. According to those in attendance, it was well worth the wait.

Lines of fans began wrapping around the Superdome as early as 4 p.m.

NOLA Now ’s Shan Bailey described the show as a visual masterpiece.

In a departure from the usual high-energy concert openings, Beyoncé began the show with a series of ballads, setting a unique emotional tone that gradually built to a crescendo of high-energy acts towards the end.

One of the standout moments was Beyoncé's “Mute Challenge.” When the artist instructed the crowd to go silent, New Orleans rose to the occasion, impressing Beyoncé herself. Later in the show, she issued a second challenge, demanding the crowd get louder, and once again, the audience responded with enthusiasm.

The performance also paid homage to New Orleans’ rich culture, with elements of ballroom culture and disco integrated into the show. Beyoncé's daughter, Blue Ivy, made a special appearance, drawing cheers and applause from the audience.

As the concert drew to a close, Beyoncé appeared visibly moved by the love and adoration from the crowd. She graciously expressed her appreciation for the warm reception.

New Orleans can look forward to more exhilarating concerts, with Taylor Swift scheduled to perform next year . But for now, Beyoncé's electrifying show remains the talk of the town

Beyoncé Announces 41-Date 'Renaissance' Tour

The five-month romp takes her to the U.K., Europe, and North America.

Beyoncé won’t break our soul — but she’s about to break our wallets.

Finally, months after the release of her acclaimed seventh studio album , the superstar has announced her Summer 2023 Renaissance world tour. The five-month romp, kicking off in May and wrapping in September, will take the singer to over 40 cities in the U.K., Europe, and North America. This will mark the first-ever live performances of her new album, and first live shows for Beyoncé in general since her 2017 On The Run II tour with husband Jay-Z.

Details of the Renaissance tour leaked early, in late 2022, after extravagant VIP packages for the tour went up for auction at the WACO Theater‘s Wearable Art Gala charity auction.

Unlike with previous album cycles, Beyoncé uncharacteristically withdrew from the public eye following the release of Renaissance. To date, the singer hasn’t released any music videos or visuals to accompany the songs, nor has she made any public performances of the songs. On Jan. 23, Queen Bey gave her first performance in years at the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai, though the theatrical show was invite-only and she didn’t perform any songs from Renaissance . Bey reportedly earned around $24 - $34 million for the gig.

That being said, we may finally see more activity from the Bey camp in the months leading up to her tour. For everything you need to know about attending the Renaissance tour, including the full tour schedule, openers, and how to snag tickets, read on.

Three Decades Of ESSENCE Festival: A Look Back At Our Iconic Main Stage

As we prep to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ESSENCE Festival of Culture – in grand fashion with a star-studded lineup of legacy performers with rich musical histories of their own, of course – we can’t help but take a moment to reflect on just what the past 30 years of loving us has looked like.

Kicking off in 1996, the ESSENCE Festival of Culture has always been much like a family reunion. It’s a weekend where we convene to discuss our issues, celebrate our culture, and of course, revel in divine Black joy with some of our favorite music artists .

From our inception, we have been joined by heavy hitters like Frankie Beverly & Maze, who celebrated with us every Sunday night for the first 15 years of our celebration and frequently over the next 15, and now will grace our stage for one final performance. We were early platforms for ultra-A-list acts like Beyoncé and Rihanna, just as their status as international superstars were beginning to rise. We’ve been a frequent hub for classic soul acts like Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Charlie Wilson, The Iseley Brothers, and many more.

Where can you get tickets?

Tickets for the North American leg of the tour will be available through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb 6, with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members, according to a Live Nation press release.

Verified Fan registration is now open. Once you register, you'll be placed in a lottery system that determines which fans get invited to purchase tickets. Registration alone doesn't guarantee tickets. If you're selected, you'll get an access code the day before tickets go on sale. Everyone else will be placed on a waitlist. According to Live Nation, this process is intended to help Ticketmaster weed out the resellers and verify your account so that actual fans get priority to buy tickets.

Citi cardmembers will have a special Citi Presale after the Verified Fan process. Get more details here . Verizon will also offer an exclusive presale through their customer loyalty program Verizon Up .

Will Beyoncé be using Ticketmaster like Taylor Swift to sell tickets?

Yes, but given what happened with Taylor Swift's Eras tour (and the fact it led to Congressional hearings about Ticketmaster ’s practices), it seems very likely both Beyoncé and Ticketmaster would want to avoid repeating that mess. That most likely explains the usage of the Verified Fan system.

Where will Beyoncé be playing?

The Renaissance World Tour will hit 40 cities in North America and across Europe. Stops include Paris, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, and many more.

What has Beyoncé said about the Renaissance World Tour?

She just announced it was happening with a post on February 1. Her website didn't immediately contain any more details. But during the Wearable Art Gala in October 2022, she appeared to confirm it would start this summer, as a backstage tour with her mother Tina Lawson was up for auction at the event.

Will Beyoncé be performing at the Grammys (on February 5) and sharing more tour details there?

Not clear yet, but she is the most nominated artist at the ceremony . On January 21, Variety reported that “ talks with show producers are ongoing for a possible onstage appearance ” by Beyoncé.

What can we expect from the tour on stage?

Beyoncé hasn't shared that yet either, but given the artistry she put into her recent Dubai show , it's fair to say we can expect no less than excellence, elaborate costumes, and an incredible experience.

This post will be updated the moment more detail is released.

beyonce dubai performance

As expected, Beyoncé has announced a 2023 world tour on Instagram, supporting her multiple-Grammy-nominated 2022 album, “Renaissance.” She also released the dates and cities on her official website.

The timing of the announcement, which comes just days before the Grammy Awards on Sunday, sparks speculation that the singer may perform or at least appear on the show. Beyoncé is the most nominated artist for the awards with nine, all related to “ Renaissance .” Sources tell Variety that her husband Jay-Z will perform with DJ Khaled on the show, most likely their nominated song “God Did.”

Related stories, with a data licensing framework in play, rights holders can embrace ai , inside cnn's unprecedented biden-trump debate telecast that rivals have to share .

Beyoncé has said that “Renaissance” is a three-part project, so it’s possible that the next parts could be another album, a long-form video project or even the tour itself.

Beyoncé’s last full tour was the nearly six-month, 49-date “Formation” tour in 2016, which unusually featured no guest appearances until the final show, at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, where she brought out Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

She did, however, stage an epochal “Homecoming” headlining performance at the 2018 Coachella festival — which was postponed from 2017 due to the birth of her and Jay’s twins — for which she was accompanied by a full marching band in a nod to historically Black colleges and universities. That blockbuster performance was later released as the “Homecoming” album and — via a three-project deal with Netflix that sources tell Variety is worth $60 million — a feature-length documentary. It seems possible that a future “Renaissance” video project could be part of that deal as well.

Beyoncé returned to the stage for first time in four years in January

Last month, Beyoncé made her return to the stage and performed at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai. Despite the luxury experience, the singer left fans wanting more, as she did not perform any songs from "Renaissance," The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The invitation-only event marked her first concert in more than four years. She last performed at the  Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 event in 2018.

Beyoncé dominates Grammy nominations

The singer's tour announcement comes days ahead of the Grammys where Beyoncé leads the 2023 lineup with nine nominations, including best dance/electronic album ("Renaissance"), best R&B performance ("Virgo’s Groove") and best traditional R&B performance ("Plastic Off the Sofa").

With 28 wins and 88 total career nominations, Beyoncé now ties her husband, rapper Jay-Z , for the most nominations in Grammy history. If Beyoncé picks up four or more awards this year, she will surpass the late Georg Solti for the most Grammy wins of all time. (The Hungarian-born conductor holds the record with 31.)

Beyoncé called out by Monica Lewinsky: over 'Partition' lyric after ableism controversy

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have got "to be the most intense power couple in the history of music," Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. Mason said after the nominations were revealed. "That’s music and Grammy royalty – that’s the royal family."

Their combined 176 nominations are "absolutely a testament to their talent, to their level of excellence, to their work ethic, to their level of greatness over a long period of time. I don’t even know what the next (leading) couple would be, but it’s not anywhere close.”

Beyoncé's 'Break My Soul.' Taylor Swift's 'Anti-Hero.'  These are the 10 best songs of 2022, ranked.

Beyoncé noticeably was not nominated in any of the music video categories for the Grammys, having not released any album visuals for "Renaissance" since its debut.

Grammy-winning artist Beyoncé is back on her first solo tour since 2016. Tickets are still on sale for those who wish to see Beyoncé perform in her celebrated Renaissance World Tour through October 2023. Stick with us, and we'll show you the best options for where to buy Beyoncé tickets today.

The 2023 Renaissance World Tour kicked off with an international leg in Sweden on May 10, 2023. Beyoncé then traveled across ten European countries before arriving in North America on July 8. The tour's United States and Canada leg will continue through October 1 as the musician plays 13 more shows in nine cities.

Supporting her 2022 album "Renaissance," the concert setlists have included Beyoncé playing each track from her seventh studio album. The Renaissance World Tour also includes "Queen Bey" playing various hits from her larger discography, such as "Formation," "Love on Top," and "Crazy in Love."

If you're aiming to buy tickets for the final performances of Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, we've got you covered. Here's our breakdown of Beyoncé's remaining tour schedule, purchasing details, and resale and original ticket prices. Or you can browse through the available tickets left through StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Beyoncé 2023 Renaissance tour schedule

The Renaissance World Tour still has 11 concert dates across eight cities, including three shows in Inglewood, California. In addition to one stop in Vancouver, Canada, the remaining shows will be held in the United States. Tickets are the most expensive in Beyoncé's hometown of Houston, Texas. All concert times are listed in local time zones. We've linked to the ticket site with the cheapest deals (at the time of writing) in the 'Prices from' column.

Where to buy tickets for Beyoncé 2023 Renaissance tour

You can purchase original tickets to Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour through Ticketmaster , although only a select number remain for each 2023 date and location. However, the tickets still available on Ticketmaster are typically more expensive than those found on verified resale platforms such as StubHub and Vivid Seats .

The prices for standard tickets to Beyoncé's concerts from StubHub start at approximately $102 on the lower end to nearly $400, depending on the venue. Vivid Seats offers similar price ranges for standard Renaissance World Tour tickets, ranging from about $100 in Las Vegas to $375 in Houston. When considering VIP packages, the cost increases significantly on each purchasing platform.

How much are Beyoncé tickets?

The prices for original Beyoncé concert tickets have risen considerably since the end of the initial Verified Fan Sale through Ticketmaster. Additionally, the cost of an original ticket varies depending on the demand for a particular location and date.

For instance, the cheapest price on Ticketmaster for a standard original ticket to the 2023 Renaissance World Tour is $91.83 for her Las Vegas, Nevada show on August 27. However, there are very few standard original tickets remaining for Beyoncé's concerts, so you may have better luck with verified resales.

Meanwhile, some original VIP packages, such as the Pure/Honey on Stage Risers, cost well over $3,000. At Beyoncé's August 30 performance in Santa Clara, the original VIP package costs $3,601. On the less expensive side, original Beyhive VIP Package prices are $1,401 in Seattle. Here's a breakdown of the various Beyoncé VIP packages from Ticketmaster's website .

Original prices typically come in much higher than resale prices for Beyoncé concerts. Many of the cheaper tickets are verified resales for nearer tour dates, suggesting you might find the best prices when it gets closer to the concert date.

Who is opening for Beyoncé's tour?

Beyoncé's world tour does not include any opening acts from other artists. Once the showtime begins for each concert date, it will be the Queen Bey herself who comes onstage.

There are no traditional opening acts for the 2023 Renaissance World Tour because Beyoncé is technically the opener to her own concerts. The time typically reserved for other artists at the start of the concert instead sees Beyoncé sing R&B ballads from her early discography, beginning with her Destiny's Child-era 2000 song "Dangerously in Love 2."

Approximately four songs are played in Beyoncé's "Opening Act" before moving into her "Renaissance" tracks. The concert is approximately two and a half hours long with 31 songs on the setlist, so Beyoncé's tour has more than enough hit music to fill the night.

Since Beyoncé opened with the international leg of her ninth solo tour, the music sensation will take her final bow of the concert series on October 1 in Kansas City, Missouri. While the remaining concert dates are primarily in the United States, there will be one last international show in Vancouver, Canada, on September 11, 2023.

Scoring tickets for Beyoncé's 2023 Renaissance stadium tour will require equal parts technological savvy and luck.

Demand for the tour, which kicks off in Europe in May and concludes at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sept. 27, is expected to be high. When tickets recently went on sale for another high-demand tour, Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour, Ticketmaster's system crashed, leaving fans disappointed and angry and sparking Congressional hearings.

Hoping to avoid a repeat of that disaster, Ticketmaster and Beyoncé are using a rolling schedule of on-sale dates, with the cities on the North American leg of the tour divided into three groups, each with their own on-sale date.

To qualify for the opportunity to buy tickets, fans must register in advance via Ticketmaster's Verified Fan system .

Registering doesn't guarantee tickets. Assuming demand is greater than supply, a lottery system will determine which verified fans receive an access code to actually make a purchase and which are placed on a waiting list.

The deadline for registration for Group A -- which includes shows in Atlanta, Houston and Chicago, among other stops -- is 11:59 p.m. Feb. 2.

Deadline for Group B -- including Dallas, Miami, Tampa, Boston, etc. -- is Feb. 9 at 11:59 p.m.

Deadline for Group C -- including New Orleans, as well as Nashville, Kansas City, Philadelphia, etc. -- is Feb. 16 at 11:59 p.m.

Once registered with Verified Fan, hopeful ticketbuyers will then be entered into a lottery for a chance to actually buy tickets.

You can increase your odds by qualifying for one of three pre-sales.

Members of Beyoncé's fab club, the BeyHive, as well as Citi cardholders can participate in presales, which also require Verified Fan registration.

Additionally, Verizon is holding a presale for participants in its Verizon Up rewards program .

The first tickets for Group A go on sale via the BeyHive Verified Fan Presale on Feb. 6.

The onsale for BeyHive Verified Fan Presale for Group C, which includes New Orleans, is Feb. 20, according to USA Today . The Citi Verified Fan Presale kicks off Feb. 21. The Verizon Up presale launches Feb. 23.

The regular Verified Fan onsale for New Orleans, according to USA Today, will be Feb. 25.

Ticket prices for the tour have not been announced.

Please don’t be alarmed and try to remain calm — nearly six years since her last solo trek, Beyoncé is back and (hopefully) heading to a city near you before wrapping her tour this fall. The superstar announced her massive Renaissance world tour back in February, marking Beyoncé’s first global solo tour in support of her seventh album of the same name. With the tour winding down, there’s only a few weeks left to score Beyoncé tickets . Get Beyoncé Tickets on Vivid Seats

With the final month of the Renaissance tour approaching, Beyoncé shared a statement on Instagram that “Virgo Season is upon us.” She continued: “This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 – 9.22! We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy. Virgo Season together in the house of chrome. See you there! Your B at RWT.”

Ticket registration and sales for Beyoncé’s tour were previously split into three different groups, and now Beyoncé tickets are on sale for all remaining dates, including on Ticketmaster and Vivid Seats .

Renaissance World Tour 2023 North America Dates

Wondering if Beyoncé is playing a show in your area? Below are the remaining cities the Grammy winner will visit for the 2023 North American leg of the Renaissance tour . Beyoncé previously also added an additional three shows to the tour, including Atlanta (8/14/23), Las Vegas, (8/27/23), and Inglewood, CA (9/4/23).

Not surprisingly, Ticketmaster said it saw a massive demand for the Renaissance tour in a blog on its website. “Fan demand already exceeds the number of tickets available by more than 800% based on the registration numbers in the Group A cities. It is expected that many interested fans may not be able to get tickets because demand drastically exceeds supply.”

While we won’t give too much away about the Renaissance tour set list (though you’ve likely seen much of it on TikTok), you can hear more about the show in Rolling Stone Music Now ‘s podcast episode . It’s a deep-dive into what fans can expect during the concert. In short, you can likely plan to hear everything from deep cuts like opener “Dangerously in Love,” along with Renaissance tracks like “Alien Superstar,” “Cuff It,” and closer “Summer Renaissance.” Plus: “Love on Top,” “Crazy in Love,” “1+1,” and more.

When Are Beyoncé Renaissance World Tour Tickets On Sale?

According to Ticketmaster at the time, “Beyoncé is distributing tickets in three different Verified Fan sales: BeyHive Presale powered by Ticketmaster Verified Fan; Citi Presale powered by Verified Fan and the General Verified Fan Onsale. Additionally, there will be a Verizon Up Presale. Registration windows vary by city, so check the schedule below and be sure to note when the window closes for the show you’re interested in attending.”

In other words, if you tried to register for Verified Fan presale, you needed to see which group your city was a part of ahead of time. Group A registration was open until Feb. 2, with Group B registration previously scheduled until Feb. 9, and Group C until Feb. 16.

European dates started in May, and Beyoncé embarked on the North American leg of the Renaissance tour over the summer, including stops in Toronto (read our Renaissance tour review ), Los Angeles, Houston, and New Orleans. Though Beyoncé headlined a show in Dubai — her first concert in four years at the time — she didn’t play any songs from Renaissance , Rolling Stone ‘s No. 1 album of 2022 (“the musical highlight of the year”) and a frontrunner at the 65th Grammys .

When Beyoncé dropped Renaissance last summer, Rolling Stone ‘s Mankaprr Conteh wrote that “Beyoncé flung open the doors to a nightclub of her own making, a place where anyone can be the hottest person in the galaxy … the album traverses eras of dance music to conjure the superhuman confidence and deeply human connection of a night out. The thematic triumph of the auteur’s seventh album is this union of the extraordinary and the earthly across it, a duality that lives on the dancefloors Renaissance was inspired by — and in all of us.”

How to Get Beyoncé Tickets With BeyHive Verified Fan Registration

BeyHive Verified Fan Presale started Feb. 6 for those who registered in Group A, followed by Groups B and C.

The first round of the BeyHive presale arrived just one day after Beyoncé made Grammys history on Feb. 5. With 32 wins under her belt, Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammy Awards in music history, winning the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Renaissance .

“I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching,” Queen Bey said during her acceptance speech. “I’d like to thank the queer community, for your love, and for inventing this genre. God bless you. Thank you so much to the Grammys.”

While Renaissance didn’t win a trophy for Album of the Year , Beyoncé still took home a slew of other awards, including Best R&B Song for “Cuff It,” Best Dance/Electronic Record for “Break My Soul,” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa.”

“You changed my life,” Lizzo told Beyoncé during her Grammys acceptance speech for her Record of the Year win. “You sang that gospel medley, and the way you made me feel, I was like, ‘I want to make people feel this way with my music.’ So thank you so much. You clearly are the artist of our lives.”

Neil Young Cancels Crazy Horse Tour Dates Citing Band Illness

"We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break," said Young in an announcement on Wednesday

Emma McIntyre/Getty

Neil Young and Crazy Horse's "Love Earth Tour" has officially been canceled.

On Wednesday, June 26, the 78-year-old musician announced on his website that while the tour "has been a great experience," filled with "great audiences and music," some of the group members have fallen ill.

Young said that a "couple of us got sick" after performing at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich., on Wednesday, June 22 . Days after the performance, he and his group postponed two shows in Texas "due to illness."

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

"When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop. We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break," Young explained in his latest update.

The performer noted that the band "will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again."

Gary Miller/Getty

"We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience," his statement continued. "Thanks for your understanding and patience. Health is # 1. We want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you…. and for for us. With love and thanks to all of you from Crazy Horse….. Neil, Micah, Ralph and Billy Love Earth."

One of the group's upcoming highly anticipated performances was scheduled to take place at the 2024 Ohana Festival .

The festival confirmed in a Facebook statement that the group would no longer be performing at the event, adding, "Please stay tuned for a lineup update coming as soon as possible; in the meantime, we are wishing the band a speedy recovery."

Young's announcement comes days before he and Crazy Horse are set to release Early Daze , a collection of recordings done by the band in 1969.

" Early Daze showcases the band's unique style at the end of the 1960s, capturing the essence of their live performances and their contribution to the evolution of rock & roll," Young's website explains. The album will be released on Friday, June 28.

The current Crazy Horse lineup joining Young includes bassist Billy Talbot, drummer Ralph Molina and guitarist Micah Nelson. Talbot and Molina have been with the band since 1968, while Nelson joined last year.
