• Kahala Estates – Kahala Estates are a large concentration of some of the most expensive real estate and beachfront properties in Hawaii. Many celebrities and business moguls vacation homes in this area.
• Hanauma Bay* Formed within a volcanic cone, this marine ecosystem offers spectacular views (Closed on Mondays and Tuesday’s)
• Halona “Blow Hole” Lookout**  – This volcanic lava tube propels water into the sky like a whale’s blowhole
• Waimanalo Town* – This quaint, rustic town is known for its local flavor and numerous plant nurseries and agricultural lots that extend back toward the Koolau Mountains.
• Nuuanu Pali Lookout* – The bewitchingly scenic lookout was also the site of the Battle of Nuuanu, one of the bloodiest conflicts in Hawaiian history. It was here that Kamehameha I conquered the island of Oahu on his quest to unite the Hawaiian Islands.
• Chinaman’s Hat – The basalt islet in Kaneohe Bay is shaped curiously like a hat. According to Hawaiian mythology, the island is formed from the remains of a giant lizard or dragon’s tail that was chopped off and tossed to the ocean.

• Starting June 10: Pounders at the Hukilau Marketplace* – Pounders restaurant is a farm fresh island style dining restaurant, serving fresh produce from island farms, Hawaii-raised grass fed beef, locally caught seafood, savory delights from the Pacific Rim.  Their bakery is filled with local favorites with popular twists on some classics.  Lunch is not included in the pricing of the tour.  Pounders will collect directly from guests.  Pre Orders of the selected menu options are required to allot for tour time efficiency.
• Laie Hawaii Mormon Temple  – The first temple built by the Latter Day Saints Church outside the continental United States, this beautiful complex features breathtaking lush tropical gardens of Hawaiian foliage and flowers, cascading water features and more.
• North Shore Surfing Beaches  – Welcome to the surfing mecca of the world! Watch out for the massive waves that have attracted so many surfers to its shores. These beaches are also a popular area for filming.
• Dole Plantation* – Visit Hawaii’s “Pineapple Experience,” see pineapples from all over the world and try the delicious Dole Whip ice cream. Approximate 20min stop.

I broke my ankle while on vacation and rented a mobility scooter the rest of the trip. This company is ADA compliant on their Grand Circle Island Tour of Oahu. The driver was great! He told us about the history of where we were going and kept us entertained the entire trip. He also never acted annoyed that he had to use the bus lift to lift me down at each stop which was nice. I do not believe the normal tour is on a huge bus unless you need the ADA complaint. I've been to Oahu 4 times in the past and never really did a Circle Island Tour. This was one of my favorite days I had (despite it raining the entire trip). I enjoyed all the stops!

Recently did two different tours with this company during my vacation with my husband in Oahu. The Grand Circle Island Tour with Cousin Koko was the best. Not only was he professional and fun-spirited, he was patient and very informative. Learned so much about the different places we visited on the tour. Treated everyone on the motorcoach like ohana! The Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial Tour with Cousin Wes was great as well. Our tour through downtown Honolulu was great; definitely appreciated the history lesson! It’s imperative that while on vacation, one should learn about the history and culture about the place you’re visiting! Thank you Roberts Hawaii for making our tours memorable!

The guide we had was excellent. He had a keen knowledge and deep understanding of the history and culture of Oahu and all the places we visited. And he brought us to a great local spot for lunch.

Because this tour is just for you and your group, you can stop anywhere along the way, whether it is planned or spur of the moment.

Your private guide, transportation, snacks, water, snorkel equipment, and GoPro photos and videos are all included. Although lunch isn’t provided they have many delicious recommendations to choose from along the way.

If you have more than 7 in your group, you’ll need to let them know when you book the tour. They can get more van and local guides to fit your group size.

Halia Tours

Halia Tours operates a 9-hour circle island tour that can accommodate groups of up to 10. Each tour aims to include two 1.5-hour activities and 3 to 5 photo stops with plenty of time to grab snacks and a bite to eat along the way.

Because this is a private tour, your itinerary is fully customizable to circumnavigate Oahu’s Koolau Range. Just some of the activity options include Oahu’s world-famous beaches, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking to Diamond Head or the Waimea Valley waterfall, scenic lookouts, and downtown Honolulu stops like the Bishop’s Museum. You can even “theme” your tour around foodie hot spots and shopping. 

Although they are a private tour group and guests can “go anywhere” they emphasized not entering local neighborhoods or heading to unsafe areas. Food, drinks, rentals, and any additional entrance fees are a la carte. 

If you’re looking for a half-day option, they can also do a “ mini tour ” that will have you back at your hotel, sipping Mai Tais by the early afternoon. They have flat rate pricing for groups of 1-5 or 5-10, which might affect your decision if you’re a smaller group.

Best Oahu Circle Island Tour from Ko Olina

Most group tours on Oahu leave from Waikiki. If you’re staying in Ko Olina Resort (Disney’s Aulani, Marriott, Four Seasons) , E Noa is your best option! Offering a 9-hour, group circle island tour for up to 25 guests, this group size feels a little less “big box” than the large tours and allows for plenty of time to truly experience all of the wonderful Oahu highlights along the way. 

You’ll avoid Honolulu traffic, stopping at sights like Nu’uanu Pali Lookout, Byodo-In Temple, Tropical Farms for macadamia nut cultivation, Waimea Valley, and end at the Dole Plantation.

Lunch and all of your admission fees are included in the price which makes this a great value. You’ll also be riding in style in a mini-bus with A/C and pick up and drop off from your hotel. Don’t forget to bring along your bathing suit and comfortable walking shoes.

Reminder, this tour departs from Ko Olina on the west side of Oahu.

Wondering what you’ll see on an Oahu Circle Island Tour? Here’s an idea of what you can expect… 

• Tours typically start in Honolulu and head east in a counter-clockwise direction around the island. 
• First stops are often Diamond Head Crater and Makapu’u Point, continuing north to Byodo-In Temple and one of the macadamia nut farms (yum!). 
• You’ll then explore the North Shore including the town of Haleiwa and Waimea Valley. 
• Most tours finish up at the Dole Plantation for a sweet treat on your way back to Honolulu.

We highly recommend saving Pearl Harbor for a day of its own. Circle island tours that include a stop at Pearl Harbor are exceptionally long and it takes up a good chunk of the day that could be spent seeing other sights on Oahu.

Our two favorites for scenery on the island are the North Shore and Windward Oahu. 

The North Shore is a must for its more down-to-earth, local vibes and lush scenery. Winter brings big waves and surfing competitions that are exciting to see. A visit in summer means you can enjoy the stunning beaches from both the sand and the water. 

Windward Oahu has a truly stunning stretch of coastline between Kualoa and Kailua. The Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden also makes for an incredible stop and is one of the most scenic spots we’ve found on Oahu. Picture 400 acres of gardens to explore with plants from around the world, all with the backdrop of Oahu’s jagged, Ko’olau Range.

Daily waikiki pickup.

7:30 to 8:00AM

Free Waikiki pickup is included starting at 7:30AM. We recomend bringing lunch money (cash) with any snacks or drinks for the onboard cooler. Swimming and snorkeling are optional so if you want to take a dip on the North Shore bring beachware and snorkel gear.

Diamond Head State Monument

Stop at the world famous Diamond Head Lookout and marvel at the scenery of plush East Honolulu, the "Beverly Hills" of Hawaii. The lookout sports epic views of morning local surfers and Maunalua Bay.

Hanauma Bay & Koko Crater

Ride slowly through

As you pass through the causeways of Hawaii Kai and Koko Marina you will notice the two mountains begin to change form, drasticaly. You then realize this is as much of a roller coaster ride as it is a bus tour! Check out the enteriors of Hanauma Bay and Kohe'Lepelepe, two enourmous volcanic craters.

The Halona Blowhole

Marvel at dramatic volcanic scenery as you take "post card worthy" photos to show off to your friends. Volcanic craters and neighboring islands can all been seen from this look out point.

Sandy Beach Park

We hit a local pit stop for shave ice, ice cream and a restroom right before taking the plunge to Kualoa's Tropical Mac Nut Farm & rain forests.

Oahu's Windward Mountain Range

Kahuku Shrimp Shacks (Lunch)

We stop for lunch at the world famous Shrimp Shacks & Fruit Stands which dot the North Shore. There isn't just shrimp on the menu's and you can always bring your own lunch and store it in the onboard cooler..

"The Seven Mile Miracle"

It's called the "Seven Mile Miracle" for a reason - see firsthand why Hawaii is the birth place and capitol of surfing and it's culture. As you pass through the North Shore enjoy scenic views of Left Overs, Waimea Bay, Log Cabins, Rockpile, Off The Wall, Backdoor, Banzai Pipeline, and Sunset Beach.

North Shore Beach Stop

Enter a beach park that is directly on the North Shore's world renowned coastline. It's very popular with the turtles as well. If you would like to take a dip or go snorkel you are more than welcome. Otherwise enjoy the beach for what it is with a beverage with your friends. It is secluded and offers stunning views of aquatic wildlife and the Wai'Anae mountain range.

Hale'Iwa Surfer Town

Enter a beach park that is directly on the North Shore's world renowned coastline. It's very popular with the turtles, as well. If you would like to take a dip or go snorkel you are more than welcome. Otherwise enjoy the beach for what it is with a beverage with your friends. It is secluded and offers stunning views of aquatic wildlife and the Waianae mountain range.

The Dole Plantation

Hawaii is known for its abundance in juicy pineapples. Try fresh pineapple juice or the famous Dole Whip ice cream. Check out the worlds largest pineapple maze or seek gifts to bring back home !

Pearl Harbor

As you head back into town pay attention to the Leeward coast. You will only be able to see a third of how huge Pearl Harbor is even with a direct view from the highway. Watch the Navy's fleet operate in the Ai'ea loch of the base.

The State Capitol & I'olani Palace

As you near the hotels in Waikiki you will get to examine the enterior of Honolulu Harbor and the urban core of the city. The State Capitol, Iolani Palace, and Ala Moana Shopping Center will all be identified as you get to familiarise your self with town!

Drop off in Waikiki is usually between 5:00 to 6:00PM depending on weather and other conditions.

We loved our day exploring coffee farms, an active volcano, rainforest waterfalls and like everything about it. I had my head on a swivel, there was always something more to see!

We went down the road to Hana and then kept going. It was the best day we had on Maui. The stuff past Hana is absolutely awesome. The Best waterfalls, roadside cliff views, historic buildings and big open areas. It was cool.

The island has a lot of people but that means they have lots of great little places to eat at and check out. That is what we did all day long. New places, new tastes, new everything.  Each part of the island is different. Going all the way around allowed us to see it all.

Ohana Circle Island tour is a guided day tour of Oahu with pick up and drop off in beautiful Waikiki. Oahu is known for being a sightseeing paradise, full of spectacular lookout points, incredible white sandy beaches, colorful culture, outstanding surf and unique wildlife. Our local guide will spend the day with you on our semi-private shuttle escorting your ohana to some of Oahu’s Hidden Gems on our highly rated Oahu circle island tour that even has a special stop at the majestic Byodo-in Temple. Admission included in the cost of the ticket.

Waikiki Pickup (7:00 - 7:20 a.m.)

Our semi private shuttle will arrive at 7am for pick up in Waikiki with a local guide to help you prepare for a day of exploring the island of Oahu. Pick up times vary by hotel and will be automatically assigned when you input your information into our online booking platform.

Diamond Head Lookout

The first lookout we visit is an elevated view perched on the eastern side of Waikiki’s famous Diamond Head Volcano. This lookout grants us a great opportunity for pictures of the south eastern coastline of Oahu, with notable sights as far as Hanauma bay and Maui on a clear day. The location is more formally known as Amelia Earhart Lookout, known for where bystanders gathered to watch Earhart make her first solo aviation journey from Hawaii to North America.

Halona Blowhole

Molten lava tubes from volcanic eruptions that occurred from Oahu’s Koko Head crater formed the natural occurrence known as the Halona Blowhole. This lava tube extends into the ocean with a very narrow opening at the top, and when the surf is just right, water pressure builds up within the lava tube and erupts through the narrow opening creating a special Hawaiian geyser for your viewing pleasure.

Makapu’u Point

Witness Waimanalo’s dramatic sea cliffs as we turn into Oahu’s windward side as we begin our journey to the North Shore of Oahu. Look off into the azure blue waters of the bay and you will see Oahu’s famous Manana Island also known as Rabbit island due to its rabbit-like shape.

Byodo In Temple

Built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaiʻi, the temple grounds are nestled on the foothills of Ko'olau Mountains and surrounded by a lush Hawaiian landscape which is home to wild peacocks and hundreds of Japanese koi carp. The beautiful grounds instill an out of body experience via a large reflecting pond, meditation niches, and small waterfalls. Admission included into the price of the tour.

Hawaiian Coffee and Macadamia Nut Tastings

After a beautiful drive along Oahu’s eastern coastline, our next stop is a local shop that finds itself tucked away under aged Banyan trees. This location provides macadamia nut and delicious Kona coffee tastings amongst other treats like tempting Hawaiian chocolates.

Chinaman’s Hat and Kualoa Valley Mountain Range

Chinaman’s Hat, also known as Mokolii, is nestled right next to the Kualoa Valley Mountain range. This location is known for its dramatic landscape filmed in a number of Hollywood movies; most notably and fan favorite Jurassic Park. The island has earned the nickname Chinaman’s Hat from its resemblance to the straw hats that the Chinese immigrants wore when working Oahu’s sugar plantations during the early 1900’s.

Famous North Shore Shrimp Lunch at Local Hawaiian Restaurant

We break for lunch at a local restaurant where you can have your pick of either a famous North Shore Garlic Shrimp plate or other local delicacies. Non-Shellfish and Vegetarian options are available. Please bring cash for lunch.

After lunch we make a stop at a North Shore tropical fruit stand which offers ice cold coconuts to drink from, fresh mangos, and other tropical treats.

North Shore Sunset Beach

A change of pace from the crowded beaches of Waikiki, the infamous Sunset Beach on the North Shore offers tranquility and is the epitome of a beautiful Hawaiian Beach. However don’t let the summer months fool you, during the winter months, swells of 30 to 40 feet can be seen from the safe confines of shore.

Hawaii Green Sea Turtle Spotting

Hono is the Hawaiian name for our beloved Green Sea Turtles. Our Honu are very Hawaiian in that they love to lay on the sand and bask under the warm sun. We take you to a beach where we hope to spot this incredible occurrence.

Dole Pineapple plantation

A historic pineapple plantation home to pineapple magnets, pineapple t-shirts, pineapple keychains and most importantly pineapple ice cream aka Dole Whip!! A great way to end the day and get some pineapple themed souvenirs for your friends and family back home.

Return time to Waikiki is 3-4 pm.

If you're staying outside Waikiki , you may want to meet at Ala Moana for the free parking at the shopping center. Otherwise, Uber & Lyft are active on Oahu and you may want to meet at the last stop, the Waikiki Beach Marriott, to bypass all the other Waikiki pickups. If arriving early via cruise ship , it could work for 6 am arrivals by transporting yourself (i.e. Uber or Lyft) 10-25 minutes (depending on traffic) to the last pickup, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort, by the 7:10 am pickup time. Note: the arrival time provided by your cruise ship may be a conservative estimate that already takes into account the disembarking process, unlike the arrival times on this site . You may want to research the experience of others who have taken your cruise for a more precise sense of timing. Alternatively, our small group Circle Island Tour which picks up at the cruise terminal at 8 am may be a better fit.

If you're visiting from another island , due to the early start of this tour it doesn't appear any flights would ensure getting in on time for the scheduled pickups. Therefore, you would need to fly in the day before and spend the night. Flying out the same day as the tour wouldn't be an issue as the tour concludes in Honolulu around 4 pm; however, since the tour does not take luggage, you would need to leave your luggage at your hotel front desk when checking out in the morning, or there are various luggage store services in Honolulu. Alternatively, our small group Circle Island Tour which picks up at the airport at 8:15 am and drops off around 5 pm may be a better fit.

This tour has been optimized by those with decades of experience and will ensure you see the most with high quality stops than would likely be possible on your own in one day. Proper pacing means you will spend a reasonable amount of time at each stop without the day being overly long or conversely rushing through.

Oahu in 1 Day: Best Driving is Circle Island Tour. The drive and scenery are mesmerizing.

There are plenty of good places to eat in Haleʻiwa; think of it as the North Shore’s dining capital. There are also plenty of food trucks around Haleʻiwa town: expect to pay $8 to $14 for a plate.

Oahu Revealed:

Byodo-In Temple is the absolute essence of serenity. It's like taking a mini-trip to Japan. Backed by the gorgeous Ko'olau mountain range and fronted by a large pond filled with koi and curious black swans, it's impossible to not feel peaceful here.

Tropical Farms has a very pretty garden area and gorgeous monkeypod trees providing shade. They are very generous with the flavored mac nut samples and coffee. The variety of locally made soaps, oils, perfumes, honeys, jams and sauces make their central shop a great place to visit.

How much physical exertion is there?

This tour is open to everyone with any physical abilities. While there are multiple stops and ample time to walk around outside the vehicle, the amount of walking can be fairly minimal if desired.

However, due to there being many stops, wheelchairs and scooters are not permitted. Walkers, strollers, canes, etc. are fine.

Is seating assigned?

No, it is first-come, first-served. Those with earlier pickup times will get more choice in seating; if this is important to you, you can select an earlier pickup location at checkout (refer to the pickup schedule outlined above), rather than simply be assigned the one closest to your lodging. Note: when there are multiple locations near your lodging, you are otherwise automatically assigned the location with the latest pickup time.

Does the tour enter Waimea Valley?

This optimized tour does not because: 1) it requires a significant amount of time, including a 1.5 mile round-trip walk, taking time away from other key Circle Island stops, and 2) more often than not Waimea Falls is either dry or a roaring brown mess, not very scenic or safe for a dip; it also can be quite crowded. 

If you're looking to visit a waterfall during your Oahu trip, consider popular Manoa Falls which is only 10-15 minutes from Waikiki. Or consider heading to Maui for our Road to Hana Tour ; just a short flight from Honolulu (as low as $40 each way via Southwest or Hawaiian) and can be done in a day without spending the night.

Our first stop is Treasures and You a Hawaii Souvenir Shop for authentic coffee samples. Also, don’t forget to snap a cute photo at the Instagram photo zone!

Leonard’s Malasadas - Koko Marina

Good Morning! With transportation from Waikiki included, our circle-island tour of Oahu begins on the east side of Oahu as we fuel up with Leonard’s Malasadas is a popular Hawaiian bakery known for their delicious, deep-fried Portuguese doughnuts called malasadas. These round, pillowy treats are made from a simple dough of flour, sugar, yeast, and eggs, and are rolled in granulated sugar before being deep-fried to golden perfection. 

Halona Blowhole Lookout

On the East side of Oahu is a hidden gem that many drive past without even knowing it. The lookout offers a stunning view of the ocean and the blowhole, which is a natural geyser that shoots water high into the air. Visitors can watch as the waves crash against the rocks, causing the blowhole to erupt with a powerful force. The lookout also offers a great vantage point for watching the sunset, as the colors of the sky are reflected in the water below. The area is also a popular spot for photography and a great way to experience the natural beauty of Hawaii.

On the other side is an unbelievably stunning cove nicknamed “eternity beach”. Take it all in!

Makapu'u Lookout

Next, we visit the gorgeous view from Makapu’u Lookout. Makapu’u Lookout is a popular tourist destination located on the eastern coast of Oahu, Hawaii. The lookout offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Makapu’u Lighthouse, which sits on the rocky cliffs below. Visitors can also spot the famous Rabbit Island, also known as Manana Island, from the lookout.

Hawaiian island Cafe

Waimanalo’s Hawaiian Island Cafe is famously known for their Pastele Stew, among other local favorites. At this stop, you’ll sample authentic kalua pork, haupia, and poi.

On Sunday and Monday,  Kalua pork samples are substituted for Hawaiian favortite Spam Musubi’s and additional fruit.

He'eia State Park

Brimming with Oahu history, Heʻeia State Park has good views of Kaneohe Bay, Heʻeia Fishpond, and the Ko’olau mountain range. Far in the distance, you’ll also get a preview of what’s to come at our later stops, including Kualoa Beach Park.

Macadamia Nuts Farm

Our next stop is the Macadamia Nut Farm .

Oahu’s Macadamia Nut Farm is a popular destination for visitors looking to learn about the history and cultivation of these delicious nuts. Visitors can taste the farm-fresh macadamia nuts in a variety of flavors, including sea salt, chocolate, and honey roasted. The farm also sells a variety of macadamia nut products, such as oils, butters, and candies, as well as other locally made products. The farm is a great way for visitors to learn about the history of macadamia nuts and taste the delicious results of the farm’s hard work.

Kualoa Regional Park

Next, see one of the island’s most iconic views at Kualoa Beach Park. Nicknamed “Chinaman’s Hat,” the famous Mokoli’i island lies just off the coast. 

Young Hawaiian chiefs used to practice for their roles in this sacred space during ancient times. And behind the park, the steep, ridge-lined Ko’olau cliffs shoot up into the sky for a panoramic view!

Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp

After the fun in the sun at this energy-filled stop – you guessed it – we’re ready for more food!

We’ll then serve up *Hawaiian Kahuku-style garlic shrimp at Tanaka’s in Kahuku, the birthplace of this style of shrimp!

Kahuku Land Farm

Right nearby, you can sample tropical fruits at the Kahuku Land Farm. All of the fruits sold at the farm are 100% organically grown! 

Sunset Beach, Banzai Pipeline & Waimea Beach Park

We’ll pass by Oahu’s most famous north shore beaches, including Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Beach Park and  Sunset Beach . During the winter season, take in thrilling waves. But we’re not done – there’s still three more stops on this full-day tour!

Pua'ena Point

After enjoying the fruit, we’ll take you to a popular spot to see the “Honu,” or Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle! They often come ashore at this scenic point location to sunbathe. 

In Hawaii, Honu are known to be the guardians and navigators of the sea. We will connect with them from a distance, as they are federally protected.

Haleiwa Town

We’ll continue our journey onto the historic surf town of Haleiwa . Stroll around, check out the shops and art galleries of this artistic community.

Kukaniloko Birth Stones

This sacred location, known as the Hawaiian Ali, was believed to be the birthplace of royalty and held great significance for ancient Hawaiians. According to legend, women who visited this site during pregnancy were said to have an easier childbirth.

Green World Coffee Farm

Last but not least, we visit Green World Coffee Farm, one of a few coffee farms on Oahu. Green World consists of 7 acres of land with approximately +3,000 arabica coffee trees and they produce coffee sourced from all of the Hawaiian Islands. Explore the coffee garden and learn exactly how coffee goes from the tree to cup!
