THE CELEBRATION TOUR UPDATED ITINERARY

Tuesday, August 15th, 2023. Excitement has been mounting with Madonna’s post that the North America rescheduled dates would be announced shortly. Today, Live Nation is pleased to confirm that most of the North America dates of Madonna’s Celebration Tour have been rescheduled and will take place immediately following the originally announced UK and Europe dates. Updated itinerary below. Tickets for the previously scheduled shows will be honored on the new dates. This includes all dates except Los Angeles and one date in New York due to a venue change, detailed below.  Getting all shows rescheduled was the number one priority. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts a few shows noted below will be canceled. Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future. The Celebration Tour will officially kick off with four sold out shows in London this October, followed by shows across Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands throughout the remainder of 2023.  The North American leg will begin on December 13th in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. In New York, fans holding tickets to the previously scheduled Madison Square Garden concert on August 27th, 2023, will have an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets to the newly added Barclays Center performance on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. Tickets for the original show at MSG will be automatically refunded to the original purchaser by Monday, August 28th. Ticketmaster will then provide all affected fans with a dedicated link and a unique code based on the quality of their previous seat locations to purchase tickets to the new date at Barclays Centre.  Advance sales start Tuesday, August 29th and run through Thursday, August 31st. If tickets remain, they will go on sale to the public starting Friday, September 1st at 10am ET. In Los Angeles, fans holding tickets to the shows previously scheduled at Crypto.com Arena (9/27/23, 9/28/23, 9/30/23 & 10/01/23) and Kia Forum (1/7/24 & 1/8/24) will also have an opportunity to purchase tickets to the new Kia Forum dates prior to the public. Tickets for the original shows in Los Angeles will be automatically refunded to the original purchaser by August 28th. Ticketmaster will provide all affected fans with a dedicated link and a unique code based on the quality of their previous seat locations to purchase tickets for their specific rescheduled event. Advance tickets for all previous Los Angeles ticket holders will begin Tuesday, August 29th and run through Thursday, August 31st. Fans unable to purchase tickets to the corresponding shows will have a second presale opportunity starting Friday, September 1st through Friday, September 8th to purchase tickets to any of the five Kia Forum performances. UPDATED, 10:29 AM: Madonna ‘s Celebration Tour is ready to get back into the groove.

After postponing her summer and fall tour amid a health scare , the Grammy-winning megaplatinum singer said today that the rescheduled dates on the jaunt’s North American leg will begin December 13 with three shows in Brooklyn — the first two of which remain on their scheduled dates with the third moved from August 27 at Madison Square Garden — followed by two in Washington, D.C.

After a four-night stand in Mexico City, she returns for U.S. dates in Tulsa, Nashville, San Francisco and Las Vegas before wrapping with two shows on April 14 and 15 in Austin. The European leg starts October 14 at the O2 in London and will culminate on December 6 with another show at the same venue.

Tickets purchased for the original shows will be honored for the reskedded ones, except in Los Angeles and New York, where new venues at being used.

Plans for the European leg of the tour remain in place for October.

The singer was set to celebrate four decades of her career with the “Celebration” tour beginning July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, with North American dates following throughout the summer and early fall in Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, Denver, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Cleveland, Atlanta and others.

On June 24, Madonna, according to manager Guy Oseary, “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

When Oseary made the initial statement following Madonna’s hospitalization, he said that plans for the tour were on “pause,” with details to come.

In an Instagram post today, Madonna clarified the plans, writing, “The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe.” Dates for the rescheduled North American shows were not announced.

She also thanked fans for their “positive energy” and said she is “on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.”

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” she writes. “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.

“My focus now,” she continues, “is my health and getting stronger and I can assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can! The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe.”

Madonna Officially Postpones Celebration Tour

The pop superstar’s global outing spotlighting her decades of hits will begin in October in Europe. “My focus now is my health,” she wrote on social media.

Madonna’s North American tour is officially postponed.

Two weeks ago, the pop star’s new Celebration Tour — a greatest-hits outing announced to great media fanfare in January, which was set to open this week — was put on an undefined “pause” after the singer’s manager said she had been admitted to a hospital with “a serious bacterial infection.” Rampant concern and speculation ensued among fans and within the music business about Madonna’s well-being, as well as the fate of her world tour, which had the potential to be one of the year’s biggest events.

On Monday, a message from Madonna on social media clarified that the entire North American leg of her tour — 41 shows, about half the total that had been announced for the full world outing — would be rescheduled, and that the tour would now open in Europe in October. Live Nation, which is producing the tour, asked fans to “hold onto their tickets as they will be valid for the new dates once announced.”

“My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can!” Madonna, 64, wrote in her first statement since her manager’s post on June 28. She also posted a photo that appeared to show her in her home in Manhattan.

“I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” she added.

Ticket sales for Madonna’s tour opened with a splash; according to an announcement in March, more than 40 dates had already sold out by then. But a glance at further dates on Ticketmaster’s website shows a number of locations — Sacramento; Tulsa, Okla.; even Barclays Center in Brooklyn — where plenty of seats are available.

Last week, Beyoncé canceled a date in Pittsburgh, and postponed two others, over what was announced as issues with “production logistics and scheduling.”

Rescheduling a major tour, for any reason, can be a complex and expensive process these days, music executives say. That is because with the return of live music after its shutdown by the Covid-19 pandemic, large venues typically lock in their schedules many months in advance, with little wiggle room for changes. In its announcement about the Madonna tour, Live Nation said simply, “Rescheduled dates will be announced as soon as possible.”

Madonna ’s forthcoming “Celebration” tour has been postponed, according to an Instagram post from her manager Guy Oseary. The tour had been scheduled to launch in Vancouver on July 15.

“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU,” he wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.

Produced by Live Nation, it includes stops in Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and more before making its way to Europe, where she will hit 11 cities throughout the fall, including London, Barcelona, Paris, and Stockholm, among others. After wrapping the European dates in London on December 6, the tour is scheduled to return to North America for another run through Jan, 20, 2024.

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” Madonna said in the tour’s announcement video .

Madonna Details New Celebration Tour Dates After Hospitalization

Update, August 15: More than a month after delaying her Celebration tour because of a bacterial infection, Madonna has set new North American dates . The run will now follow the European leg of the tour, beginning on December 13 in Brooklyn and ending on April 24, 2024, in Mexico City. As part of the rescheduling, Madonna had to cancel dates in Tulsa, Nashville, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. “Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future,” promoter Live Nation said in an announcement.

Update, July 10: Madonna is “on the road to recovery,” according to her first statement since news of her hospitalization for a bacterial infection. The singer also detailed tentative plans to reschedule the North American leg of her Celebration tour and kick off the shows in Europe in October. “My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” Madonna wrote on social media. “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.” Live Nation confirmed the North American leg, which was set to kick off July 15 in Vancouver, would be postponed with new dates yet to be announced. The tour now begins October 14 in London. As of July 3, according to Rosie O’Donnell’s Instagram , Madonna is out of the ICU and recovering at home. “She is recovering at home — she is very strong in general,” O’Donnell replied to a concerned fan. O’Donnell posted a pic of her and Madonna in A League of Their Own , which prompted the pair’s mutual fans to share their concern for the pop star. And although Madonna is expected to make a full recovery, the timeline of that recovery remains TBD.

Madonna won’t be celebrating as soon as she thought. The pop icon is delaying her upcoming Celebration tour after being hospitalized for a bacterial infection, per her manager, Guy Oseary. He wrote on Instagram that Madonna got the infection on June 24, then spent “several” days in the ICU. The tour had been set to begin less than a month later, on July 15, in Vancouver. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” Oseary wrote. “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.” The Celebration tour was set to be Madonna’s first fully retrospective outing to honor the 40th anniversary of her career. The performer currently has more than 80 dates scheduled on the world tour including six nights each in New York, Los Angeles, and London. Oseary did not reveal how long the tour would be postponed or when it would start again but promised to share new and rescheduled dates “soon as we have them.”

Madonna delays 2023 tour again following health scare

The pop icon’s tour was postponed for the second time after she suffered a serious bacterial infection

Madonna has delayed her 2023 Celebration Tour for the second time following her health scare in June from a bacterial infection, the pop singer announced Monday.

The North American leg of the tour, which was slated to begin July 15 in Vancouver, will be pushed to an unspecified start date, and the tour will instead begin in Europe in October, she wrote.

“My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can,” she wrote in a statement shared to her social media.

Though Madonna didn’t explain what fans should do with their tickets, the Toyota Center in Houston has already encouraged fans to hold on to their seats, “as they will be valid for the new dates.”

The tour’s original delay was announced shortly after she was rushed to the hospital June 24 with a bacterial infection. Her representatives did not respond to The Washington Post’s request for comment.

Madonna’s statement marked her first public comments since she was hospitalized, but she did not share specifics about her infection. (The statement did, however, include a selfie. )

The 64-year-old singer said Monday that she thought first of her children during the hospital scare. But she said she also considered the fans who bought tickets to her tour and the people who worked with her to create the shows.

“I hate to disappoint anyone,” she said.

Madonna first announced the 35-city tour in January, with expected shows in New York, D.C. and London, among others. The tour’s aim was to highlight Madonna’s “unmatched catalog of music from the past 40 plus years,” according to a news release.

Previously, she was injured in horseback-riding accidents in 2005 and 2009 . In 2020, she said she would undergo a regenerative treatment for missing cartilage a few months after she canceled a performance in Lisbon.

After axing that show, Madonna wrote on social media, “I must listen to my body and rest!!”
