Frontier Airlines Launches 13 New Nonstop Orlando Routes in November

America’s greenest airline offers 81 nonstop mco routes with fares as low as $19*.

ORLANDO – Nov. 2, 2021 – Low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines ( NASDAQ: ULCC ) this week launches 13 new nonstop routes from Orlando International Airport (MCO), including service to five international destinations: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jamaica, Mexico and The Bahamas. The new service expands Frontier’s Orlando route map to 81 nonstop destinations, the most of any airline at MCO and, to celebrate the new service, Frontier is offering introductory fares starting at $19*.

“We’re excited to celebrate another remarkable expansion of service at Orlando International Airport with 13 new routes launching this month, along with three more coming in December,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “We’re proud to offer the most nonstop routes of any airline at MCO and look forward to welcoming new travelers onboard to explore our expansive network of international and domestic destinations from Orlando.”

“The start of Frontier’s winter air service expansion is coming at a time when Americans are more ready than ever to travel again,” said Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “With inaugural flights to domestic and international places like Sioux Falls, Idaho; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Turks & Caicos, we welcome the ability to increase access to the country’s most visited destination and expanding travel opportunities for Central Florida residents.”

New Routes from Orlando International Airport (MCO):

Frequency and times are subject to change, so please check FlyFrontier.com for the most updated schedule.

Frontier is focused on more than low fares. The carrier offers customers the ability to customize travel to their needs and budget. For example, customers can purchase options a la carte or in one low-priced bundle called the WORKS. This bundle includes refundability, a carry-on bag, a checked bag, the best available seat, waived change fees, and priority boarding.

The airline’s frequent flyer program, FRONTIER Miles, lets members enjoy many benefits as well as the ability to attain Elite status. Like the airline, FRONTIER Miles is family friendly and the program makes it easy for families to enjoy the rewards together, including family pooling of miles. FRONTIER Miles is aptly named because you earn one mile for every mile flown – no funny formulas at Frontier. Whether customers travel a little or a lot , t hey will find FRONTIER Miles rewarding.

The health and safety of customers and team members is Frontier’s number one priority. With that in mind, Frontier introduced sweeping health and safety enhancements in 2020 that touch every step of a customer’s travel journey with the airline.

Frontier and federal law require that all customers and crew members wear a face covering throughout their travel journey. Plus, anyone flying with Frontier must accept a health acknowledgement during the check-in process.

During flight, main cabin air is a mix of fresh air drawn from outside and air that has been passed through an air filtration system that features HEPA filters capable of capturing respiratory virus particles at more than 99.9% efficiency – similar to those used in hospital environments. Frontier’s modern all-Airbus fleet is among the youngest in the world, with an average age of approximately four years.

Those dreaming of wide open spaces and getting entirely off grid love to love (and find) themselves in Mongolia.

Last updated . 18 February 2020

For when you want a complete cultural immersion or to feel like you’ve reach the end of the earth, or beyond…

1. Patagonia

Found at the southern end of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile, Patagonia is known for its active thermal regions, fertile valleys and vast landscapes of sparse, silent beauty. For a true cultural head trip, seek out Welsh Patagonia; where in 1865, a cohort of 160 Welsh men, women and children set sail to establish a settlement that would protect and preserve their language and culture. You will find its Welsh communities alive and well and happy to show you around.

2. Bhutan

The tiny, remote kingdom of Bhutan holds magic at the end of its Himalayan treks, like the famous Taktshang Goemba, or Tiger’s Nest Monastery, clinging to a sheer cliff face and reached via a steep mountain path. but despite its isolation, Bhutan isn’t frozen in the past – its traditional Buddhist culture embraces global developments and its road signs are a hoot: ‘be gentle on my curves’ reads one cautionary offering.

3. Cuba

While nothing quite beats Havana, Cuba has plenty of other highlights too. Journey to Trinidad in central Cuba, a perfectly preserved Spanish colonial settlement with buildings that line the cobblestone streets painted in shades of turquoise, canary yellow, peach sorbet and chartreuse green. The town is known for its lively nightlife and lovely homestays such as ‘The Potter House’, and is located at the base of the Escambray Mountains, ripe for exploration for the adventurous.

4. Space

The final frontier is not looking quite as far away these days. With zillionaire entrepreneurs such as Elon Musk and Richard Branson no longer starting their sentences with ‘if’ but with ‘when’, developing concrete plans for commercial space flights as early as next year, perhaps we could all be loving life on Mars within a couple of decades.

The original ‘Shangri-La’ has long fascinated the West, and although the state was only officially recognised as an independent Buddhist nation between 1912 and 1951, before the incorporation of Tibet into China, the name retains its mystique, resonance and gravitational pull. Come for the monasteries, mountains, peace and spirituality and lose yourself in the warmth of its people with a cool Lhasa beer and a plate of dim sum at a friendly teahouse in the capital.

The biblical holy land stirs up a lot of passion and many questions, but its beauty and diversity of landscape, for such a small country, can’t be denied: from the green hills to the dead sea. A pilgrimage to find the best hummus joints on the streets of cosmopolitan Tel Aviv is worth your time too, top tips include Mashawasha, Garger Hazahav and The Syrian’s son.

7. Mongolia

Those dreaming of wide open spaces and getting entirely off grid love to lose (and find) themselves in Mongolia. It’s a land that’s barren and beauteous, empty yet abundant in wildlife, culture and a generous hospitality, born of understanding the nomadic life. Dive into city life in Ulaanbaatar, or sit with a shepherd and just watch the clouds pass.

Recent political changes have wrought shifts in international perceptions of Iran, and it’s becoming a new tourism tour de force – and rightfully so. This Middle Eastern country is home to one of the oldest civilisations in the world, and is full to the brim with UNESCO World Heritage Sites including palaces, bazaars, an ancient irrigation system and Persepolis; the ruins of which were once the cradle of the Persian empire. Aesthetes will be in absolute heaven here: make sure you head to the city of Isfahan to explore the exquisite decoration, turquoise-tiled domes and minarets at the huge, 17th-century Naqsh-e Jahan Square, one of the largest on the planet, and the name of which translates to ‘pattern of the world’.

9. Easter Island

Who doesn’t love a good mystery? We can see you do, with Rapa Nui keeping a solid hold on our imaginations (and our bucket lists). The solemn, mysterious moai statues, numbering almost 900, hold court over a rugged island that is one of the most remote places on Earth. But that didn’t stop its original Polynesian settlers from accomplishing the epic journey here. To tap into that sense of adventure, take the annual sailing on tall ship Soren Larsen from New Zealand to Easter Island, passing the point on the planet furthest from land along the way.

10. Greenland

To borrow from a classic, where we’re going, we don’t need roads… and this ain’t Back to the Future. Instead, it’s a gigantic island so wild, so extreme and so inextricably based on the whims and movements of Mother Nature rather than its sparse population, that roads are few and beside the point of the place. Save up your pennies if you want to go deep – the best views of stunning fjords, vast mountains and awesome glaciers are reserved for explorers willing to jump a helicopter, boat or even dog sled. The Arctic cold makes kayaking more like an adrenalin sport, but otherwise you can always fish for salmon in the waterways or layer up to experience the aurora through the night skies. A combination of Arctic light and vibrant villages makes this place a photographic paradise, too.

Frontier Airlines announces customer-friendly changes to its fare buckets and policies

Portrait of Zach Wichter

  • Frontier Airlines is simplifying its fare offerings with three new ticket tiers.
  • All Frontier passengers will be able to cancel or change their tickets without having to pay an extra fee.
  • The airline is also bringing back its customer service phone line.

Frontier Airlines announced a major streamlining of its fare offerings on Friday, as well as other customer-friendly changes that it said are meant to improve the experience of purchasing tickets and flying on the ultra low-cost carrier.

"Today marks the beginning of a new era for Frontier – one with transparency in our prices, no change fees and the lowest total price," Barry Biffle, Frontier’s CEO, said in a statement . "This is 'The New Frontier' and we are committed to offering more than the lowest fares – we deliver the best price for all the options you want and the customer support you need, when you need it. No gimmicks, just really low prices and good customer service."

Here are the changes that go into effect on Friday.

New fare bundles

Travelers frequently complained that Frontier’s pricing structure was opaque. Its a la carte model meant passengers had to buy bundles or individual extras in addition to their ticket for things like seat assignments and carry-on or checked baggage.

While that for-purchase product will still be available with Frontier’s lowest-priced Basic tickets under the new structure, the airline is simplifying its pricing with three new ticket tiers that include more amenities and services in the bundled price:

  • Economy bundle, starting at $30 per person per direction, includes a carry-on bag and seat selection. Customers can still pay extra to check a bag with an economy ticket as well.
  • Premium bundle, starting at $50 per person per direction, includes premium seat selection and early boarding as well as all the perks of economy tickets.
  • Business bundle, starting at $100 per person per direction, includes all the previously mentioned perks as well as UpFront Plus seat selection (Frontier’s extra legroom rows, which also keep the middle seat empty), as well as up to two 50-pound checked bags.

No change fees

Aside from travelers buying the lowest-price Basic tickets, all Frontier passengers will be able to cancel or change their tickets without having to pay an extra fee. The airline is also extending the validity period for flight credits to give passengers whose plans change even more flexibility. Newly-issued Frontier credits will be valid for 12 months. Previously, they expired after three months.

Customer service phone line

Frontier caught a lot of flak for nixing its customer service phone line in 2022, and now the airline is reversing course.

All travelers whose flights are within 24 hours will be able to call for live phone assistance if they encounter issues with their trip, and elite frequent flyer members can call any time. The airline will also soon offer a callback service for other inquiries, though a date for that has yet to be announced.

Cruising Altitude: There was no Golden Age of flying. We're in it now.

Low price guarantee

Frontier is also hoping to entice travelers with a low price guarantee. The new policy will award passengers 2,500 frequent flyer miles if they find a lower price for a comparable flight on another airline on the same route and date. In order to claim the miles, travelers will still have to complete their trip on Frontier. Full conditions of the guarantee can be found here on the airline’s website .

This Major Frontier Sale Has 75% Off Flights Right Now — When to Book

The sale ends July 18.

frontier travel locations

Courtesy Frontier Airlines

While Amazon’s Prime Day may have deals for just about everything , travel brands are jumping in on the excitement with deals of their own.  Frontier Airlines recently introduced a “Primetime Deals” fare sale with a fun nod to the shopping extravaganza. Travelers can take advantage of the fare sale by purchasing tickets on Frontier's website and using the promotional code PRIME.  Travelers can save 75 percent on base fares of tickets through August 18, 2024, and then also save 50 percent on base fares for flights through November 13, 2024, which makes it a great option for booking a fall or early winter getaway.  The fare sale ends at 11:59pm EST on July 18, 2024, and the fare sale has limited days that the tickets can be purchased for, such as travel only on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Frontier also excluded several popular routes from the promotion including Atlanta to/from Las Vegas, Dallas to/from Seattle, Fort Lauderdale to/from Philadelphia, and others listed on the sale's page. Travel + Leisure spotted a variety of deals when using the promotion code including:

  • Denver (DEN) to Phoenix (PHX) for $69 round-trip
  • Las Vegas (LAS) to Seattle, WA (SEA) for $128 round-trip
  • New York (JFK) to Atlanta (ATL) from $52 round-trip

“Primetime Deals Are Here! Save up to 75% off base fares with promo code: PRIME. Plus, grab Economy Bundles starting at just $29* — including a bag, seat selection, and no cancel/change fees,” Frontier Airlines shared on their X account .

For travelers looking to travel even more, Frontier is also running a sale on their unlimited, all-you can fly pass for a discounted price of $299.

Frontier recently eliminated change and cancellation fees in an effort to increase transparency in their pricing, however many of the fare sale flights do not include checked luggage or seat assignment, so travelers should carefully review the terms before booking.

Pass holders who repeatedly book and no-show flights, or who otherwise violate the terms and conditions of the Pass, are subject to financial penalties up to and including the revocation of pass privileges without refund. Then current change or cancel fees and policies are applicable to your itinerary once booked. No Shows are subject to the terms set forth in Frontier’s Contract of Carriage. See the GoWild!
