Just going through old reviews and saw this one... It was a while ago but I did end up coming for dinner when I was in London with my wife. Great food and wine, and the service was friendly and professional. After my initial experience I was left disappointed but I take that back now. It's not cheap but it's worth the price. If you can get in, I definitely recommend giving it a go. The area is fun too.

I really wanted to have dinner here tonight... Unfortunately, because I was on my own, I wasn't allowed any of the many tables outside. I had to sit at a table on my own inside a very large, completely empty restaurant. "Can I sit at the bar?" "No, sir. The glasses are hanging at the bar and it's dangerous; a matter of health and safety." How is it more dangerous to sit at the bar (where there are bar stools!!) to eat but not to stand there and drink?? I am disappointed. This kind of nonsense puts me off coming back - alone or with my wife. Headed next door to cantina de ponte where the barman has mixed me a delicious martini. I'll let you know about the food later...

Food was probably one of the best meals I've had in the past 6 months. Service was exceptional. The location is amazing, with views over Tower Bridge. This is a place I will be returning to without fail!

This restaurant has the prices of a fine dining establishment, but not the value. I ordered a mocktail for 10 pounds and got a wine glass full of ice. The tomatoes in the heirloom tomato salad had less flavor than the ones you find in a Pret a Manger sandwich. The entrees took more than an hour to arrive. My son and I both ordered the pork. We were told we could have it "pink" or "well done." We chose pink and received well done. Overall, dinner for four cost over 300 pounds. We also froze throughout because their patio heaters were on the fritz. I wish I could have the money back. I gave it two stars instead on one because the view of Tower Bridge was lovely.

Fancy place for a drink right on the Thames. Service is impeccable and if you are seated at the bar the bar tender constantly feeds you olives, sold! It's a bit pricey so I would only go here on a very special occasion but it definitely does impress if that is your objective.

Great food with good view, services was super friendly. Enjoy the food, even we actually wanted to since out to see the view but the weather was too cold. Inside was cozy, love the interior. Recommend for tourism who want to find great French restaurant in UK city. Price was $$$ but worth it!

This is my favorite place on the river to eat lunch or in my case a boozy brunch. You need to be quite firm as to what you want, otherwise staff will steer you toward the option that's easier for them. Don't accept it. If you want the set menu, get it

My work colleagues and I spent about 3 hours here yesterday afternoon. Situated just across the Thames from our hotel, they offer a very nice patio with heaters - the perfect landing place from which to enjoy a nice brunch and watch the Thames and the joggers go by. I started with a Bloody Mary, easily the best I've had since arriving London. Richly spiced and beautifully garnished it really hit the spot. Their brunch menu was nicely varied. I opted for a cheeseburger and fries (yes, they called them "fries", not "chips"). The burger featured a thick hamburger patty cooked to a perfect medium topped with cheese, bacon, and tomato. The fries were nicely done as well. My colleagues opted for the Sunday Roast (a nice slice of beef with veggies, Yorkshire pudding, and au jus to pour on top), the avocado toast, and the ham & cheese sandwich. The sandwich was interesting, served open-faced with the cheese melted on top. Going for a Monte Cristo effect, my colleague asked for and received some elderberry jam with which to garnish her sandwich. We switched to wine, and shared 3 bottles of Malbec amongst the five of us. All in all, it was a lovely afternoon in London. I would definitely return to Le Pont de la Tour.

Nice ambience and scenery. Food was great and kinda a good price for such a place. Service was okay, but there was a really rude waitress who did not understand a hint of English. Clearly needs to be trained more.

Went to have the brunch here with their special offer menu, the food was good but come mainly here for the views, it's a very instagrammable spot if you ask to be seated in the terrace outside so it should be beautiful on a sunny day with a view of the tower bridge. The service was very slow however that we had to wait for a very long time and took us two hours to finish because we were waiting for the food.

This is an elegant, sleek, fine food restaurant at expense account prices. So, indeed this is a popular lunch spot for many business people from More London. The food is good enough, the service is professional, and the waterside location is delightful.

Easter Menus In London For 2024

W hile chocolate is clearly the food hero of Easter , it’s not the only thing to get excited about eating during the season. Easter is a celebration of the beginning of spring and all the bountiful produce that comes with it: roast lamb, spring greens, hot cross buns, Simnel cake and more. Many London restaurants are offering special Easter menus and dishes across the Bank Holiday weekend – we highlight the best here.

Bacchanalia

For a glitzy Easter feast, head to Greek-inspired wonderland Bacchanalia , which is offering a set menu on Sunday and Monday from 12 – 5pm. You can enjoy three spring dishes for just £45, such as polenta bites with truffled tzatziki, sea bream with wild greens, and the restaurant’s signature tiramisu. Better still, a live bouzouki band will be keeping things lively – plus little ones will be treated to a special chocolate treat.

Scott’s Richmond

After an Easter stroll around Richmond Park, head for lunch at Scott’s, the esteemed restaurant perched by the riverside. Although the eatery is most famous for its seafood, this Easter Sunday head chef Tom Rogers will be cooking up a beef roast complete with roast potatoes and seasonal veggies. On the Monday, meanwhile, guests can enjoy a set menu featuring dishes like spicy salmon tartare, Puglian burrata, mussels with toasted fregola, and Cornish pollock with spinach and shellfish butter sauce – followed by a raspberry pavlova dessert.

Tom Cenci’s Soho bistro always has a buzzy vibe, with a fun menu focusing on twists on nostalgic fare. The Chelsea Pig, Chelsea

After a classic roast dinner this Easter? Head to this charming Chelsea pub for an impressive Sunday lunch created by head chef Fionnan Flood and his team. Roasts are designed for sharing, with options including lamb with honey and mint sauce, Gloucestershire pork belly, and Hereford beef rib-eye, served with all the trimmings. The restaurant is offering a special lamb dish to the tasting menu on 29 and 30 March, with the option to pre-order either a saddle, rib, shoulder or leg, which will then be carved at the table. This cosy neighbourhood spot in North Hampstead has the feel of a country pub, located opposite Golders Hill Park. It’s renowned for its roast, which comes piled high with pillowy Yorkshire puddings, crispy potatoes and a choice of beef, chicken, pork or a nut roast. The Galvin brothers’ Michelin-starred City restaurant offers French fine dining, housed inside a majestic Grade II listed building. Head there this Easter Sunday for a traditional lunch with French influence: begin with cured mackerel and smoked fish roe, or ricotta gnocchi, followed by roast Herdwick lamb, Hereford beef rib or Cornish ballotine of cod. Finish on a sweet note with the Easter bread and butter pudding, made with candied orange and almond crumble, or go for the classic cheeseboard.
